"By the way you know while I was reading the letter Mikoto gave you, I remembered all of that farmland you own abut aren't using at the moment," Mark says to David
'Wait stop talking, I have farmland, since when?" David asks Mark after all this was the first time he heard about this piece of information.
"Since always, you know not everyone is cut out to be a fighter, so some people become farmers"
"The thing is that everyone in this part of the village is dead and with all of the fighting that was going o, the land was forgotten and it's just there" Mark explained to David
"So you want to start planting, but we need seeds and fertilizer, not to mention people to help us farm," David says to Mark remembering everything the letter pointed out.
"Normally that would be a problem, but we have our summons and more importantly we have Ana, and Ana has," Mark says to David who immediately stands up
"Ana has Lili"
Mark smirks as he sees David's eyes completely wide with realization.
"We just need to make up an excuse because if people find out Lili can grow crops really fast they are going to want it and by extent Ana," Mark says to David
"I have an idea, Mark can you ask around and see if anyone has seeds they've thrown out. Oranges, carrots anything if Lili can grow those we might be able to sell a lot of those things'" David says to Mark before running to a nearby desk
"Look, I have permission to sell things to other villages and any random people, and even here"
Mark looks at David, as he takes the sheet of paper from him.
"You didn't hear a thing I said did you?"
"By the way, you do know that half of your territory is in ruins so don't just start another project."
"What was the Hoage thinking when he authorized you to do this? What are you going to sell you have nothing?" Mark asks David who just gave him a wide grin
"Nothing until now. Mom, I'm going out!" David says to his mom as he walks out of the room down the hallway and out the front door.
Mark stands in the center of the room and he begins to count backward "Five-four- three- two- one"
David walks back and opens the door.
"I don't know where to go," David says to Mark
"Exactly you don't know where to go," Mark says to David as he walks out of the room he was tempted to call Aa to accompany them but she was playing with Hinata so it was better to leave her behind for now.
Three guards followed the two of them out of the house and because neither of them knew how to move at the same speed as the ninja, they had to be carried by two of their guards to the abandoned farm.
Mark and David stood on the abandoned land, the walls dividing it from the land around it was still in its place, but there were weeds everywhere, and even if David burned everything the land itself wouldn't be able to get rid of all of the unwanted plants.
"Mark, why was this place abandoned? I mean you said yourself that not everyone isn't cut out for fighting" David asks Mark who kicks a nearby rock
"Your guess is as good as mine, I only know what the papers in the house say, so I'm still finding things out" Mark answers David.
"...We arent going to be able to use Lili for this" David says to mark
"I know, I knew it the moment I saw this place."
"It's too exposed, not in the way that Ana will be in danger but in the way that she will never have any privacy. For all, we know people are hiding in the nearby trees watching us" Mark says to David as he looks at the trees that surround the empty field the two of them wanted to use.
"What are you thinking?"David asks Mark
"I'm thinking we should listen to Itachi and follow the plan he wrote down for us" Mark answers David.
"...I want to believe in him, it's because of him that we have been able o get so far, but Wr already owe him a lot."
" I already owe him a lot."
"The problem is I can't figure out what he's getting out of all of this, this plan of it's too well planned out for it t be something he just made up," David says to Mark before the two look at the blue sky.
"Maybe he knows something we don't, we both have just started but Itachi, he's been apart of all of this his entire life."
" Maybe he doesn't want something to happen? or maybe he's trying to keep us away for when something does happen" Mark answers David.
"We will have to change the plan a bit, not too much but enough that it could come back and hurt us," David says to Mark as he kneels and picks up a handful of dirt.
"If we let anyone willing to work here keep two harvest seasons worth of crops, but after that, they have to give us half of what they grow. What do you think?" David asks Mark who just looks at him
"I think people are going to have to be either desperate or have nothing going for them to take that deal, the land needs a lot of work" Mark answers David
With nothing else to do the to of them were about to turnaround and leave when they see a man wearing a red coat and a bright red hat calling out to them
"Excuse me are the two of you Mark and David?" the man says to them as he walks up to them, with him is one of the village's guards.
"Sorry, where are my manners, my name is Reck," Reck says to Mark and David before kneeling and placing his head on the ground.
"They say that there are two boys that have begun to rebuild the Senju Clan and that neither of them wants anything to do with war or any of the hidden villages."
"Please I beg the two of you please accept me and there are a couple of people with me and none of us can do anything like fighting, but we know how to farm, build furniture, and a lot of useful things," Reck says to the two of them.
"Alright this is too suspicious," David says as he places his right hand on the man's shoulder and tells him to stand up.
'Did you guys plan this or something?" he asks Mark who shakes his head as he's just as confused as David
"Okay let's say I believe you and you really are a farmer or whatever you say you are, what do you mean we're famous?" David asks Reck
Reck slowly wides his eyes
"You mean you didn't know?" Reck asks Mark and David
"Know what?" Mark asks Reck
"The Senju Clan is a famous clan and when Lord David married Lady Tsunade news about their marriage was heard by a lot of important people and people who are just looking for a safe place to live"
"Visitors to the Village Hidden in the Leaves even say that despite the two boys age they have managed to not only rebuild the Senju Clan's territory but are in the process of reviving it and its influence"
"In fact, if the gossip is true, Lord David has a large part of the Uchiha clan under his control," Reck says to the two of them.
Mark turns to look at David and David turned to look at Mark as the two of them felt a knot tighten inside their stomachs.
'How did you hear about any of this?" David asks Reck
"Everyone knows"Reck answers David
"You keep two harvest seasons and after that, you give us half of what you grow, you can sell your half or keep it to yourselves. If you agree then yes we will take you" Mark says to Reck who immediately kneels and begins to thank him.
"Reck where are your people right now?"Mark asks the man
"At the hidden leaf, outside of the gate I was told to ask the two of you if you would take us in," Reck answers Mark
"Get us back as fast as possible" David orders his guards who moved at a speed no human should be capable of both Mark and David found themselves staring at something neither of them ever wanted to see
There weren't a lot of people, in fact at worst there were only twenty newcomers.
Twenty newcomers that somehow knew about the two of them, despite the two of them never having set foot outside of the hidden leaf before.
"This is bad" David says to Mark, who didn't answer his old friend.
