Prompt 17
Tea Time
The multiverse is huge. Anyone who has taken the time to journey through the multiple versions of Earth realize this after too long. This is a tale of a universal truth across every version of the multiverse.
Daddy's have to have a tea party with their daughters.
Most who would look in on the scene would be surprised by what they were seeing. Around a small table (sized for a pair of 5 year old girls) were seated two of Jump City's strongest heroes, Changeling and Nightwing.
Both heroes sat opposite their respective daughters, fluffy pink dresses on their bodies, plastic tiaras on their heads. Nightwing's daughter Mari carefully poured the pretend tea while Changelings daughter Kira passed around a plate of imaginary cakes.
"More tea for you, Princess Nightwing?" Mari asked, giggling to herself.
"Why of course, Lady Mari," Nightwing replied, holding up the small, plastic teacup, "It was simply splendid of you and Lady Kira to invite myself and Miss Changeling for tea today."
"It's so rare for the two of you to be able to accept our invitation," Kira replied, sipping from her own teacup, "We have missed having you visit us."
"You know how it is sometimes," Changeling said, looking mollified, "Big bad heroes like us need to be awesome most of the time. It doesn't give us many chances to play."
"Which is why the wise and mighty Queens Kori and Rachel are taking care of the heroing while we have important bonding time with our little girls." Nightwing said, glaring at Changeling.
"Now, now, everybody play nice!" Kira shouted, bopping her daddy and uncle with a plastic blow up bat, "No acting like meanie heads during the tea party."
"Oh yes, I know Lady Kira," Changeling said with a laugh, "Logan family rule number 5: Teatime is a sacred practice."
"Yes it is," Mari said, high fiving her best friend, "Or else we are gonna tell on you to Aunt Raven and she will make you sleep in your doggy house, Uncle Gar."
"And we all know that's a bad thing," Nightwing said, ruffling his daughter's hair, "So be nice Miss Changeling."
"I'm always nice," Changeling grumbled, "Don't tell on me please girls."
"On one condition, daddy," Kira said, a sparkle in her emerald green eyes, "After teatime, you need to take us down to the beach and let us have a pony ride."
"Ooh ooh ooh, Pony ride!" Mari shouted, floating into the air.
Great, now she's gonna want a pony, Nightwing thought with a wince.
"But, after tea," Kira said, "Because tea is important to staying calm."
"And staying calm is important so we don't get hurt or hurt anyone else." The other three repeated.
"And that's important until you learn to control your powers." Said a monotone voice from the doorway.
Standing in the doorway to the girls shared room were Raven and Starfire, arms loaded with shopping bags. Glancing over to the door, both Changeling's and Nightwing's jaws hit the floor, mentally counting the number of bags.
"How big of a dent did you put in the discretionary fund this time, ladies?" Nightwing asked, lifting his daughter into his arms.
"Only as much as necessary, dear husband," Starfire replied, lifting a bag marked Victoria's Secret, "Unless the two of you would not like to see what Raven and I have procured from the mall of shopping."
"But, that will be later," Raven said, setting down the bags and walking into the room before sitting at the table, "Because, as Kira and Changeling said, teatime is scared and important."
AN: Another short little bit of fluffiness. I love writing the more family oriented stories. Because heroes don't need to be amazing warriors of justice 100% of the time. They need down time. Anyway, R&R to keep feeding the machine. Peace Ya'll.
