Carlisle's POV
"Cullen, what do you want? "Billy asked angrily.
"Mr. Black, do your people not police their own lands and people?" I asked.
"Yes, why?"
"There is something that I need to bring to the council's attention regarding a crime that was committed by one of your own on your land and off. I would like to meet with the council and keep the treaty intact. Can we please meet?" There was a long pause and some muffled talking in the background.
"Yes, we will meet with you, but not at your home. How about the treaty line about 9 tonight?"
"That will fine and thank you for meeting with me."
"We are only doing so because your family has always respected the treaty." The way he said family was forced. "Make sure you bring proof. We will require it so we can take action if it comes to be needed."
"Yes, I understand." The line went dead. I had the pictures of Bella's bruises, but I will need more. I called Alice; I have an idea that could help but I need Bella to do something first.
"She's in the shower." Alice answered.
"That's not what I am asking but it's good to know she's up. I need your help and Bella's. I need you to go into my office and get a patients medical history release form."
"Ok, got it. Now, you need Bella to fill it out and sign it, right?"
"Correct then take scan and e-mail it to me then I can access her information from here. I will need it tonight."
"You'll explain later, right?"
"Along with Charlie." I chuckled.
A few minutes later I had the e-mail, and I could print off everything that I need to prove to the council what he did.
9:00 PM at the Treaty Line
I stood by my car waiting for the council members to show up. First was Billy and then shorty behind him. I only really recognized Billy. We all stepped to the invisible line not crossing it.
"Cullen has called us here to report a crime done by one of our own and land."
"He violated the treaty and then called us here?" One man asked with a hint of anger.
"No, Harry, he did not. He went through Charlie Swan to get in touch with me."
"Please, hear me out. Please I need to do this for someone I love and wish to protect. You all know her and have welcomed her onto you land. Some of people would even call her friend. Please." The looks in some of the men's eyes, they looked confused at my words.
"Let us heat him, brothers." Billy said. If only he knew what it was about beforehand, he wouldn't be like this. The others nodded their head.
I told them everything that Bella had told me, and I showed them the pictures, the e-rays, and all the paperwork about what happened, but not who did it yet. I wanted to gage their reactions before doing so. As I told them Bella's story, I watched their reaction. Disgust is what I saw. When I seemed to have finished Billy spoke.
"Cullen has given is plenty of proof of the evil that happened to Bella but has failed to tell us who committed it. Does Bella not know her attacker?"
"Yes, she does, and I do as well. I only withheld this information to make sure that you did see that this person did do something so unforgivable in fear that this person may not be punished because of who they know."
"I understand completely. Please, Cullen, tell us who. Then we will confer and decide the punishment right here in front of you so you will know they will be punished for what they did."
"Jacob Black." It was dead silent. No one but me saw that coming. Billy wheeled closer to me.
"Are you sure?" I heard more concern then anything else in his voice.
"Yes, this is a serious crime, and I would not just point the blame aimlessly."
"We will talk. Please wait here." Billy said and he and the others went back towards their vehicles.
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and fished my phone out. It was Bella texting me.
'Is everything ok?' She must be worried since I haven't called or texted yet.
'Yes, my love. In the middle of something and I'll call you as soon as I get done. Love you.'
About 15 minutes later the group of men came back to the line.
"Cullen, we are aware that you know about our people and our capabilities as we know about yours. You know that my father was the last official chief and leader of the pack. Naturally, I am the unofficial chief and not a pack member. My… son is the next unofficial chief and pack leader. He is now going through the change. He was to become that after he finished. We have decided that he will be stripped of this tittle and will be confined to the reservation indefinitely. He will clean the beaches and the reservation, and he will not be left alone, ever. Two pack members will be present at all time. That is after he serves at least 25 to 30 years in our jail guarded by the pack. Will this be satisfactory to you, Cullen?"
"I believe that is for Bella to decided. As long as you keep him here under lock and key, I believe that she will feel safer. Pleas know that Bella is under mine and my family's protection from here on out. And I would like you to know if somehow, he does leave and comes after Bella, we WILL kill him."
"I was always told that you were a gentle…. Man, and that makes me wonder why you would protect a human so fiercely?" Billy asked.
"Bella and I are together, and I love her and will do anything to protect her, especially to keep her from going through what happened to her again."
"Do we all agree to what has happened here today?" Billy asked. There were several yeses behind him.
"Yes, and I would like to say thank you for meeting me like this. If you all ever need anything, please don't hesitate to call me. All you have to do is ask."
With that being said we all went our separate ways. I went back to the house and when I entered, I went to my office. I stood where my desk used to be. I grabbed my phone from my pocket. I when to the contact list and pulled up Bella and called. It rang a few times.
"Hello?"
