When Hiccup woke up immediately woke everyone else and told them his meeting with Ragnar.

"So Ragnar knows how to get the shield working?" said Snotlout. "I don't suppose he told you where you can find him?"

Hiccup looked towards Heather. "He told me that he was in the place where you the two of you used to play."

Heather nodded. "I know the place is talking about, it's about a two hours walk from here."

"And failing you do have two excellent trackers," said Eret gesturing to himself and Heather. "I'm sure will be able to pick up Ragnar's trail easily."

"I'm a bit more concerned about this beast chasing after him," said Fishlegs. "Do we have any idea what it is?"

Hiccup shrugged. "I only heard a howl, which could be just about anything."

"Regardless at least we know our next plan of action," said Astrid.

"It sounds like he is in real trouble, a Light Elf fighting at night it's impressive that he survived this long," said Heather.

"And that's only because of his godly blood," Hiccup added.

"Then we had better break up camp and get to him as quickly as we can," said Eret.

No one argued and immediately began breaking up camp, but Hiccup tried to think about what could be chasing Ragnar. The howl indicated some kind of beast meaning it could be a werewolf, but if that was the case that meant that Snotlout and Fishlegs were going to be prime targets.

"You think it's a werewolf," said Astrid's voice.

Hiccup looked up and saw her looking down at him.

"I do, though I'm only making this assumption based on the howl," he said.

"It would make sense, it would have to be a creature that they would track Ragnar whose people are our natural to the forest. A troll would be to slow to catch him, goblins aren't smart enough, and orcs aren't crafty enough."

"Plus they don't howl," Hiccup added. "There's only one creature that keeps up with an elf and can track them."

"We don't know how long Ragnar had been in this world," said Astrid looking at the moon. "Now be able to sustain himself by moonlight, but I suspect being without sunlight is training him."

"He seemed to have problems healing himself," Hiccup nodded.

"If it is a werewolf then Snotlout and Fishlegs are in trouble, the two of them have a poor history when it comes to wolves, especially giving their family history."

Astrid wasn't wrong Fenris, the Great Wolf and son of Loki, was an enemy to their fathers. Fenris was destined to devour Odin come Ragnarok which naturally meant that he was the mortal enemy of all sons of Odin, who was Snotlout's father. Fishlegs' father Tyr had given up his hand in order to tire Fenrir to rock by magic rope, so naturally, Fenrir resented him. That had also been crafted by dwarfs, and Fenrir's children had hated the dwarfs ever since which gave them even more reason to hate Snotlout.

"You think we should warn?" Hiccup asked.

"Not until we have more confirmation," said Astrid.

Hiccup nodded. "I suppose there's no need to worry them until we know for definite, but it is a werewolf we need a plan in order to deal with it."

"I'll talk to the twins and see we can come up with a few ideas, but I think you should warn Heather and Eret. If anyone can find evidence of a werewolf, it would be those two."

Hiccup nodded, and the two of them went their separate ways, he went to explain everything to Heather and Eret.

"Werewolves, huh?" said Eret. "Those are dangerous monsters, fast, strong and exceptionally cunning."

"I have heard rumours that there been a large number of werewolves in the forest," said Heather. "Werewolves are not uncommon in Svartalfheim, but generally they never enter in the Dream Forest."

"Do you think they're working for Johann?" Hiccup asked.

"Personally I wouldn't be surprised," said Eret folding his arms. "Did you say that you saw goblins acting strangely and Alfheim eight months ago?"

Hiccup nodded. "Yeah, they were more organised. Ragnar said the entire thing was unusual. Now that you mention it, when I first arrived at the Academy, I was being chased by mountain trolls."

"Mountain trolls coming down into a valley, goblins attacking Light Elves and now werewolves roaming around the Dream Woods," said Heather. "This sort of thing haven't for hundreds of years, it would seem as if all dark creatures are making moves."

Eret looked at the direction of Snotlout and Fishlegs. "If it is werewolves those two were going to be attacked certain."

"We don't know that where was to be certain, which is why want you to the keep your eyes and ears out," said Hiccup.

"I can certainly do that," said Heather.

Soon they managed to break up camp and began trekking their way through the words, Heather and Eret were out in front, the twins just behind them, Snotlout and Fishlegs in the middle and Hiccup and Astrid bringing up the rear.

"So did you and the twins come up with a plan to deal with werewolves?" Hiccup asked, looking at Astrid.

Astrid nodded. "We believe so, but killing one is not easy. It doesn't help that we don't have any silver weapons."

"I thought there was just a myth?" Hiccup blinked.

"No, it's quite you should brush up more on Killing Magical Creatures Class," said Astrid. "The fastest way is with silver weapons, but they can be killed by ordinary weapons though it a lot harder luckily there are very vulnerable to fire."

"Is a very magical creature vulnerable to fire?" Hiccup asked, remembering their clash with the zombies.

"Of course not Fire Giant and Demons are immune to it," said Astrid rolling her eyes. "Just make sure you have your sword ready, it's the only weapon it stands any chance against a werewolf."

"We still don't even know if it is a werewolf that's been hounding Ragnar," Hiccup pointed out.

"I know, I hate this uncertainty, but until we know what exactly we're up against, we have to have the worst."

Eret then immediately held out his hand, telling everyone to stop immediately.

"You found something?" Hiccup asked, pushing forwards.

"Aye, down here," said Eret as he bent down.

Hiccup looked over his shoulder could plainly see footprints on the ground, one was perfectly normal, but it was the other that was more concerning. They looked as if they belong to a giant creature with razor-sharp claws.

"Any idea who they belong to?" Hiccup asked.

"While the smaller footprint certainly belongs to an elf, but I can't determine whether it is a Light Elf for a Dark Elf," said Eret and began to feel the footprints with his hand. "Though this Elven particular was wearing leather shoes that are clearly human make."

"There's no way a Purist would wear human shoes, they like to walk barefooted as do every single elf," said Heather.

"But you're wearing shoes," Snotlout pointed out.

"Because I'm a bit of a rebel," Heather smiled.

"So we can assume that those tracks belonged Ragnar," said Hiccup.

"It would seem so, and I do see some dried blood as well," Eret added and then he turned his gaze to the other set of footprints. "It's these footprints I am more concerned about."

"Any idea what kind of creature would leave those?" Fishlegs asked with quivering slightly.

"They're large, and they do appear to belong to a certain beast of a wolf I would guess," said Eret examining closely. "However, this will appears to be extremely large and judging from the space between these footprints. I would say that it is walking on two legs."

"So it is a werewolf," said Astrid.

Snotlout's eyes widened. "Wait, you knew it was a werewolf hunting down Ragnar, and you didn't tell us?"

"We didn't know for certain, and we wanted to wait for confirmation," said Hiccup.

"But don't you think we had a right to know?" Fishlegs asked. "I mean both me and Snotlout have had problems with wolves in the past?"

"Which is exactly why we didn't tell you," said Hiccup. "We didn't want you looking over your shoulders when it could have been a different creature. We didn't want you to worry over nothing."

"Oh, how awful," Snotlout grumbled.

"I was the one who made the suggestion not him," said Astrid.

"How about we focus back to the fact that there is a bloodthirsty werewolf somewhere here?" Fishlegs suggested.

"Judging from these tracks it seems to be on Ragnar's trail," said Eret as he lifted himself up. "I'm amazed that he's been able to survive this long under the circumstances."

"Probably not for long we don't hurry," said Heather as she immediately began to scan the area.

Hiccup looked at Eret. "How all you think these tracks are?"

"About an hour."

Hiccup then turned to Heather. "Do you see or hear anything?"

"Yes, I think I see Ragnar this way!" Heather yelled, gesturing them to follow her.

They quickly followed her through the woods, but she was moving so fast it was difficult to keep up with her.

"Heather slowed down, we need to deal with this werewolf as a team!" Hiccup yelled.

"You don't understand the werewolf is directly over Ragnar!" Heather yelled back.

Fear then immediately gripped Hiccup as the dreaded thought his best friend being dead terrified him. He then instantly used the ability of foresight to see whether Ragnar was alive or not. He saw images of them coming to a clearing beneath what appeared to be a large oak tree in Ragnar was the offending the werewolf off.

Hiccup didn't want to see any further as he needed to save his strength and he didn't really want to know the outcome.

"He'll be alive when we get there," Hiccup informed the others.

"You didn't see any further?" Heather asked.

"Too dangerous, besides I'm gonna need all my strength when we face this thing."

"Don't worry about already devised a plan on how to deal with it," said Astrid. "The werewolf will certainly go after Snotlout and Fishlegs so they can lead it away from Ragnar."

"What?" Snotlout yelled.

"Uh, do you think we can have a different plan?" Fishlegs asked.

Astrid ignored them and carried on. "The rest of us were then jumped in and fended off. Hiccup you hang back and use that flaming sword of yours the moment you find an opening. Once that happens, you unleash everything you have to burn that creature to a crisp."

"Why don't we use our dragons?" Snotlout asked.

"Because it will bring too much attention and I very much doubt that Johann sent more than just one werewolf to hunt Ragnar down," said Astrid.

"I'm inclined to agree," said Hiccup.

"Wait, you're saying there could be multiple werewolves roaming around?" Snotlout stared. "I don't suppose there's any way for me to return to Midgard?"

"We best get ready because we're about to reach the clearing," Heather warned them.

Soon they came into the clearing and Hiccup saw the same oak tree he saw in his vision. They could see Ragnar slumped against the tree clutching his waist with his left arm while fending off the werewolf with a sword in his right hand.

The werewolf had to be about 7 feet tall with long arms and legs that had to be at least 4 foot long. Its hands were humanlike, but they have razor-sharp claws and look quite thick. Its body was completely covered in black fur, and the head looked like an actual wolf.

"I think we found the werewolf," said Eret.

The werewolf sniffed the air and immediately spun around, and they could see its blood-red eyes.

"I smell dwarven blood," it snarled with the boys able to shake leaves of trees. "Wait, it's not just dwarven blood I smell. But the blood of Odin and Tyr."

"That's us," said Fishlegs, gesturing to himself and Snotlout, much to the surprise of everyone. "I think you find that where more the delicacy than a single Light Elf."

Snotlout stared at him. "Have you gone mad?"

The werewolf snarled at them furiously. "Your fathers imprisoned my ancestor for something that he might do! I'm going to enjoy ripping you to shreds!"

The werewolf then immediately charged at them with incredible speed. Fishlegs then suddenly pushed Snotlout aside and then grabbed the werewolves paws before it could swipe at him. Astonishingly he was able to hold his own and began fending the creature off.

The werewolf looked more surprised than anyone as Fishlegs' grip began to tighten.

"How can a human overpower me?" he said, struggling to free himself.

"What's going on?" Tuffnut asked.

"Yeah, since when does Fishlegs go so hard-core?" Ruffnut asked, looking at Fishlegs with admiration.

Eret's eyes widened. "He must have berserker blood in his veins."

"Berserker?" Astrid stared. "You mean the fearless Viking warrior that slaughtered hundreds of people?"

"The same," said Eret.

Hiccup was so stunned by what he was saying that he almost forgot about their objective. He quickly drew Inferno and set it ablaze and promptly charge the werewolf as fast as he could. He then plunged his blade into the back of the werewolf, and he howled in pain as his fur burst into flames.

Fishlegs then used his strength in order to fling the werewolf giving out a massive warcry. He quickly began to roll around in the ground trying to put out the flames, but all he accomplished was setting alight the dry leaves on the ground.

"Now's our chance!" Astrid yelled, raising her axe.

She then led, Eret, Heather and the twins towards the werewolf began plunging their blades into him. The werewolf howled and swung into massive arms, knocking them all onto their back before lifting himself up.

"I will not be defeated by children!" he roared.

Then an arrow appeared out of nowhere and struck him in the shoulder, he turned and found that it had belonged to Ragnar who had risen to his feet with his bow in hand. Ragnar then quickly fired another arrow and hit him straight in his right thigh, and he howled in pain. Hiccup then realise that the arrow was burning into his skin.

"H-how?" the werewolf growled, and his eyes widened when he examined the arrow closely. "Silver?"

Ragnar smiled. "I always do like to be prepared."

He then fired another arrow and this time he performed a perfect headshot. The werewolf stood there for a few moments looking at Ragnar before collapsing.

Ragnar smiled at them. "What took you so long?"

He then suddenly toppled over and fell to the ground.

"Ragnar!" Hiccup yelled.

All of them then quickly rushed towards Ragnar, fearing the worst.
