Over the last month Kacey and John had talked every day. Kori was at Mary's. Mary watched her when Kacey worked. Kori and Mary had just got done Skyping with Kacey.
"I think mommy has a boyfriend grandma." Kori said.
"Who?"
"His name is John."
"Is his last name Cena?"
"Yeah." "He's on TV."
"Does she call him her boyfriend?"
"No." "When she talks to him she's always happy though."
"Grandma knows him." "I met him when your mommy was in college." "What do you think of him?"
"He's nice."
"Has he never been to your house for breakfast?"
"He's never been to the house."
John and Randy were at a bar in Michigan.
"Are you gonna tell me who's coming?"
"Not till she gets here."
"She?"
"Yes, she."
"Why didn't you tell me you were seeing someone?"
"I'm not."
"John." Kacey said coming up to their table.
"Hi."
"Hi." She looked at Randy. "Hi Randy." She sat down.
"Hi." Randy said. "How's Max?"
"He and his wife are doing just fine."
"Oh you guys…
"Yeah."
"I'm divorced to."
"How long were you married?
"Six years." "I have a girlfriend."
"What's her name?"
"Kim." "Are you seeing anyone?"
"Not at the moment." "Most people tend to run when I bring up my daughter."
"I have a daughter to." "Her name's Alanna."
"My daughter's name is Kori."
"She's really pretty." John said. "Do you want a beer Kacey?"
"No." "I'm only on an hour layover."
The hour was almost up.
"I have to go." Kacey said.
"It was nice seeing you." Randy said.
"Nice seeing you to."
"Bye John."
"Bye." She left.
John looked at Randy who was smirking.
"That's why I didn't want to tell you." John said.
"Just tell her."
"There's nothing to tell." "Even if there was, you know I don't want kids."
