It's been a week since Christmas and Logan and Rory were just counting down the days to find out if their baby is going to be a girl or a boy. They decided that they were going to have a double ultrasound with both Lorelai and Rory because they were both, now, 17 weeks along.

One morning, Logan was downstairs making breakfast and Rory had just gotten out of the shower when she got a call. It rang and she rushed over to it and was surprised at the contact name. She answered after three rings.

"Hey." She said into the phone, not knowing what he really wanted.

"Hey Rory. I just wanted to tell you that Jenny and I are going back home in three days. Do you think you and Logan would like to have dinner? You can properly meet Jenny and I can meet Logan."

"Well.. um.. do you think that is a good idea?" Rory said nervously.

"Rory, I'm married and I still consider you as a friend, so if we are going to be friendly I think it's a good idea for my wife to meet you as a person and see that you have settle down."

"What do you mean?" A crease formed between her eyebrows.

"Well, when we bumped into each other at the restaurant the other day, Jenny asked who you were and how I knew you."

"Oh."

"Yeah. And I would never lie to her so I told her about our past. So now when you come up in conversation, she gets a little testy."

"I come up in conversation?" She laughed.

"Well you were a major part of my life so yeah, you do."

Rory smiled, "yeah. We can have dinner. When were you thinking?"

"If it's not to early, I was thinking tomorrow night. Around 6:30 PM."

"Yeah that works. Logan gets off if work at 4:40 PM and I still don't have a job."

"Good. I'll let Jenny know. Call me if anything changes. I'll text you the place."

"Ok! Thanks Dean. It is always nice to talk to you."

"Yeah it is. Well, talk to you later Rory. Bye."

"Bye." She hung up the phone. Huh, this should be interesting.

Rory walked downstairs and into the kitchen. She approached the kitchen counter that Logan standing by.

"Morning Ace." He looked up at her and into her eyes.

"Morning..." she got lost on her thoughts.

"What's going on in that head of yours?" He asked, walking around the island and next to her.

"Do you remember Dean?" She swung her head around and faced him.

"Uh, your ex? The dude that was at the restaurant with his wife? That Dean?" He was confused. Why is she bringing him up.

"Well, he called me this morning and wanted to know if you and I wanted to go out with him and Jenny tomorrow night." She smiled nervously.

"Sure."

"Really? Your ok with this?"

"Yeah I am. It's a good opportunity for me to formally meet him and it's a good chance to gain new friends. Especially ones that are our age and that have kids."

"I haven't thought of it like that. I'm glad your on board." She nodded and then gave him a light kiss and sat down on the stool.

Later that afternoon, Logan was off at work and Rory was at home in her study working on her book. She decided to call her mom and check up on things. The phone rang twice before Lorelai answered.

"Why fruit of my loins! What do I owe the pleasure of speaking to the one and only child I have gone through the pain to birth?" Lorelai asked remembering that Rory has not talked to her since Christmas.

"Sorry for not calling you mom but I just wanted to talk to you."

"Hit me with what you got."

"So, Dean called me."

"DEAN?! You mean like DEAN DEAN?! Your first love DEAN?! What?!"

"Yes mom that Dean. We ran into each other at a restaurant the other day and he wants to go out for dinner tomorrow with Logan and I with him and Jenny."

"Huh."

"What? What should I do?"

"I think you should go. I think it would be good to get a good lady friend that has kids that's your age. And it would be good for Logan to have a nice male friend that's not always drunk. And we both know that Dean is a nice guy, doesn't always make the best decisions but he is nice."

"Yeah I get that. It would be nice to have another woman to call and ask questions about it. And even better, she is my age."

"Yeah Ror, go for it!"

"I was going to go no matter what you said because I already talked to Logan but thanks."

"Wow. Now I feel useless."

"Your not useless, you are carrying my baby siblings in your body missy."

"Right right. Ok and how come you live like only a few blocks down from our house and I feel like I see you even less? Like come on Ror!"

"Yeah I know I know. I'll work on that. We should have dinner or something after New Years. They talked for a little bit longer and finally said their goodbyes.

Later that evening Logan and Rory ate dinner at the house and shared a few glasses of wine. They took their party upstairs for the night and settled in. They crawled in bed together and eventually, both of them drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.

That next afternoon, Logan decided to take a half day and spend it with Rory. They ate a late lunch and then Rory took a brief nap and rested for that night.

She woke up by Logan gently touching her arm, "Ace, it's time to get up. It's 5:00 PM and I think we should start to get ready."

"Mmmmm." She said turning to face him then opening her eyes, "fine."

Rory got up, gave Logan a brief kiss and then walked into their closet to find something formal to wear. "Logan, what are you wearing?"

"This." He walked in their huge walk in closet behind her, wearing black dress pants and a white shirt with his suit jacket over the top.

She looked over at him and smiled, "You look good." She scanned him up and down but when her eyes met his face he wore a big smile. "What?" She chuckled.

"It's cute when you are obviously checking me out. Now get dressed."

"Ha ha very funny."

Logan walked closer and looked through her dresses with her. "Wear this." He said holding up a tiny black dress with spaghetti straps.

"You sure you want me to wear that? You do remember that we are having dinner with my ex boyfriend."

"But he's married." He pouted. He really wanted her to wear the dress because he knew something she didn't know.

"So was he when I lost my virginity with him." She crossed her arms.

"Just wear it. Please? For me? It'll show off your beautiful body."

"But I'm fat." She crossed her arms.

"It's not fat, it's a baby." He stuck out his bottom lip and pretended to pout. "And your going to get fatter anyway."

Rory smiled at him, dismissing his comment. She knew he was looking forward to raising this baby with her. "Okay." She gave in and took the dress from his hands and took it off the hanger.

Logan smiled and walked out of the closet and into the bedroom. Rory followed him out with the dress in her hand. She walked into the bathroom and started to get ready.

She closed the bathroom door behind her while she took her T-shirt off and stepped into the fitted black dress. It was mid thigh length and the top had a boxy shape to it, it was low enough to show a little bit of cleavage. She let her hair down and did it with light curls that fell in her shoulders. She finished up the look with some pretty makeup. She worked her mascara a little more than she usually would but left the rest alone to make it a little more casual. She put on some lipgloss and walked out of the bathroom. Logan was sitting on the bed when she walked back in the room. She walked up to him with a jaunt in her step.

"Yeah no I don't like it." He said shaking his head.

"What?!" She threw her hands halfway up in the air.

"Kidding Ace. You look perfect."

"Thanks." She smiled, "but that was still really mean."

"I know I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you later I promise." He winked at her.

Rory walked back into the closet and grabbed her black heals and brought them out. She sat on the bed and started to put them on.

Logan and Rory walked into the restaurant and Logan gave their name to the front desk. The worker brought them to their reserved table, Dean and who looked like Jenny were already sitting down waiting.

Dean got up and walked up to them, "Rory! Good to see you again!" He said giving her a quick hug, "You must be Logan. I've heard a lot about you." Dean shook Logan's hand.

"Yes Dean that comes both ways." Logan shook his hand. Woah this dude is tall! Like super super tall!

"I should say congratulations to the both of you!" Dean said to Rory and Logan as they sat at he table.

"Thanks." Rory and Logan said in unison.

"So Rory, this is my wife Jenny," Jenny extended out her hand for her to shake it, "Jenny this is my good friend Rory and her boyfriend Logan."

"Pleasure to meet you both finally. Rory I've heard so much about you."

"Pleasure." Logan gently kissed Jenny on her hand.

"So, Rory how far along are you?" Jenny asked politely.

"We are coming up to seventeen weeks." Rory said holding Logan's hand under the table.

"Wow. It is great to meet some nice younger couples with kids or that are expecting. We live in a very small town up north and there aren't much people our age."

"I agree. It is nice to know of someone my age that I could call, if that's ok with you." Rory took out her phone.

"Yes! Definitely! We can call often if you would like. You seem very nice."

"Thanks!" As the ladies exchanged phone numbers and talked about Jenny's different pregnancy's and births, the men talked and got to know each other.

"So where did you and Rory meet?" Dean asked Logan to start up a healthy conversation.

Logan chuckled to himself, "Well, the very first time I was introduced to her, she was with her friend Marty. And I was being an ass to him. The next day she actually ended up comforting me about it."

"Wow. So, when was this? Sophomore year?" Dean was trying to figure out when it was because he was with Rory at the time.

"Yes. That sounds about right. You were still with her weren't you?"

"Yeah I was." Dean looked over at Rory who was talking to his wife. He knew it was good that she was bonding with Jenny, but he always had feelings for that woman. He loved Jenny with all his heart, but somewhere in there, was a small place just for Rory. "She's special that one." Logan nodded in agreement, making eye contact again.

"Yes, yes she is." He smiled.

"Well, so how are you feeling about becoming a dad for the first time?"

"I love Rory, and I couldn't be happier that she is carrying my baby but it's just scary you know? What if I turn out like my dad?" Logan started to freak out, but then felt Rory's hand on his knee. He guessed that she had been listening, but she just kept on talking to Jenny.

"Hey man, you'll be a great dad. It's nerve racking. Believe me I know. I have four kids."

"Right." Logan chuckled and turned his attention to the ladies.

After a few minutes, the waiter came by with their food that they had ordered previously. They ate and ended up talking about the past.

"Remember how you used to bring books everywhere we went?" Dean laughed.

"Dean, I still do that." Rory said taking a pocket sized Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Dean laughed as she put her book back away. "And the meatball you left in your car?"

"Oh my god! What did you do with it?"

"I threw it away because I was mad at you." He laughed.

"Ok I'm so confused." Logan butted in and Jenny nodded I agreement.

"Ok so for our three month anniversary, I told Rory I was building her a car and she left her meatball in it that night."

"What was the meatball for?" Jenny asked, looking back and forth between her husband and Rory.

"Mother daughter thing." Dean and Rory said in unison.

"Dean, again I am so sorry about the car!" Rory said apologetically.

"Look it wasn't your fault. It was that Jack ass Jess' fault."

"Jess?" Logan asked with an eyebrow up.

"Jess my friend, Jess."

"Oh!" Jenny and Logan said together. They steered their conversation a few comments later. "So Dean, Jenny, how did y'all meet?" Logan asked politely, changing the conversation that made both himself and Jenny uncomfortable. Dean and Jenny explained that they met at Luke's. Jenny was actually there because her car broke down and she needed it to get fixed. Dean bought her dinner and they started to go out ever since then.

"That's sweet." Rory responded holding Logan's hand under the table. Logan was gently caressing her hand with his thumb.

Later that night, they said their goodbyes and Jenny gave Rory her phone number. The couples went their separate ways. Logan called Frank to come pick them up from the restaurant and within minutes he cane driving up in the limo. Frank got out and opened the door for Rory and Logan.

"Evening Miss Gilmore. Mr Huntzberger." He held the door open.

"Thanks Frank." Rory said just as she got in the limo, with Logan following close behind.

They arrived home and all of their lights were off. Logan grabbed Rory's hand and led her to the door. He unlocked their front door and as soon as they walked in and shut the door behind them, they heard, "Surprise!" Over thirty people jumped out from behind pieces of furniture and came to greet Rory and Logan. "What is this?" Rory turned her attention to her boyfriend.

"This is our Life and Death Brigade New Years bash." He took his arm and rapped it around her waist.
