Bella PoV
The kiss came so suddenly that I was completely taken aback. My mind couldn't catch up to the situation. Before I could say anything, do anything, I was thrown back on my bed, Jake's big body hovering over me. He was careful not to crush me with his weight, balancing his huge body on his elbows. But that was not what was troubling me.
His lips on mine were soft and hard at the same time, hot, full of passion and also so very careful. He was putting all his feelings inside that kiss and for a moment I couldn't do anything but lay still on the bed, not sure how to react.
Then my instincts took over. I wrapped my hands around his neck, grasping his black hair, pulling him ever closer to me. A small groan escaped his lips, and he lowered his body a little so our legs and our chests almost touched. I returned the kiss with the same passion he showed me and felt a knot of heat forming inside my stomach.
Warm...So warm…
We kissed for what seemed to be an eternity and only let go once because we were both in the need for air. But even then, his face was merely inches from mine, ready for the next kiss. His cheeks were flushed, and he was panting heavily and he had never looked so beautiful. Not even Edward could compete with him.
His white, marble like skin was nothing compared to the soft, copper skin I felt beneath my fingers.
Jacob grinned and lowered his head to begin the next round of kissing. I responded as eagerly as I had before, stroking his muscular back with my hands and secretly marvelling in the fact that he never wore a shirt since his transformation. I felt his hand too, going up and down my body while he rested his weight on the other. He stayed strictly over the clothes, not once trying to get under them. I wondered for a moment how it would feel to have his hands on my bare skin, his heat engulfing me, but I knew it would be too much for today.
He broke the kiss again, pressing his forehead against mine. I smiled. "So, that's your big secret then."
"How did you guess?" His laughter filled the room and he stretched out beside me, his hand on my stomach, stroking it lightly. "I love you Bella, always have. I was so afraid to tell you but in the end, you didn't give me a choice," he grinned and placed a small kiss on my lips.
I looked at him, saw the happiness in his face, the love in his eyes. The love that had always been there but which I hadn't seen until now. A lot of things made sense now. How he had always listened, how he had always been at my side, how he had always hold me when I felt the world crushing down on me. He had yelled at me, had accused me of being in love with someone who had left me in the woods, and I knew that these accusations were born out of love. It must have killed him to see me doing all these dangerous things like riding this motorcycle but still he had stayed at my side.
I had been so selfish at that time, too wrapped up in my own grieve to see what had always been there.
Suddenly his head shot up and he looked up as if he were listening to something. "Seems like Charlie decided to finish early today."
I tried to listen too but couldn't hear anything. "You sure?"
"It's a werewolf thing." He grinned at me before he kissed me again, harder and longer. We were both flushed and breathing wildly when he interrupted the kiss and stood up. "I should probably go. I don't think Charlie would like to see me alone in your room when you should be resting, and I should be in school," he said sadly and sighed. "You have no idea how beautiful you are, Bella. I would give anything for just another minute with you."
I propped myself up on my elbows and blushed but this time not out of passion. "I must have infected you somehow. You are talking all crazy."
"Not when it comes to you." The smile he gave me would melt even the hardest stone. Once more he bent down and kissed me lightly on the lips. "See you soon, Bells."
"You too." By now even I could hear Charlie's police car coming up the driveway. "You should go now, or Charlie will get at you with his gun."
"It would be worth it." He winked before he went up to the window and made his way down. I would have been worried had I not seen him doing this before.
Must be a werewolf thing I mused just as the front door opened and Charlie's voice yelled up. "I'm home and I brought lunch!"
