AN: Thank you for the reviews, the kindness, the love, I appreciate it. This chapter was too much fun to write, so please enjoy it. As I said, I have an end in sight for this, not in the next couple of chapters but probably in about 15 chapters? I will get working on Amelia Lane soon, but I have just wanted to write this because it's fun and light and happy. I'm also going to say, to my American friends, please make sure you vote this week! And Happy Halloween, I have a Princess and a Shark running around this weekend! Also! You guys did not think I would ACTUALLY have Perry at the wedding? The point of that interaction was more to establish the friendship they now had. They love each other, as friends, as coparents, but not as anything romantic, and Logan is not threatened by Perry's existence in their life.
Disclaimer: I do not own Gilmore Girls, or any of the lyrics used in this chapter.
Chapter Thirty Five
Rory stood in her kitchen looking at her ex husband, unsure of how to say what she needed to say before she left for Palo Alto in a few minutes. "So did I…"
Perry laughed and took a sip of his coffee, "you did."
"I..."
"No harm, no foul, Ror."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize, it would be weird."
"I just want you to know that it's never going to be us against you, we're all in this."
"I get it Rory, don't worry. Tell me where your Mom is staying and I will drop the boys there on Friday."
"I'll send you the details for the hotel," Rory nodded, "sorry about all this."
"No apology necessary," Perry assured her with another smile. "You are leaving the car, right?"
"My car will be here for you to use with the boys, Logan and I are flying back, and after you drop the boys, you can bring the car back here. We have a car there too." Rory walked to exit the kitchen before turning around, "just so you know, he wasn't bothered...by you coming."
"Ror, I've watched you get married once, and that was enough for me. I'm really happy for you though, I'm glad that you have found some happiness and that things are…how they should be for us."
Rory walked towards him and wrapped him in a hug, he was surprised and his body stiffened momentarily before he hugged her back, "thank you for this last year…you have been…well, things were crappy for a bit, and you weren't the best Dad," she told him honestly, "but you have…you have been amazing lately. I love you, and I appreciate you," she smiled. She did love Perry, not a romantic love, but they were family.
"I love you too," Perry smiled as they let go of each other, "I had to learn to separate our marriage ending from them, and being a good Dad is completely different than whatever I was feeling about you."
"How adult," Rory laughed. "I've got to go finish packing, when Logan is done his call we're going to leave."
"Goodbye, Rory."

"You good, you look a little green?" Logan put his hand on Rory's thigh as the plane taxied down the runway.
"No one said the first trimester was fun," Rory leaned her head back and closed her eyes, hoping that the wave of nausea would subside. "Pretty cool though, don't you think?"
"It is," Logan was still holding the ultrasound photo that had been printed earlier in the day. Rory had managed to get an appointment that morning, she wanted to see a doctor before they told anyone else and so they had delayed their flight and made the stop, "I can't believe there is a human inside of you."
"That never feels normal," she admitted. "I should probably warn you too, I don't really love being pregnant."
"No?"
"I get sick and fat and blah, and I eat way too healthy."
Logan laughed, "I noticed, the healthy eating I mean," he nodded to the smoothie she was holding.
"Don't question it," she opened her eyes as the plane began accelerating down the runway, "I also don't think I'm ever going to get used to flying private."
"You might have to, I honestly do it because it's more efficient. No stupid lines, security is easy, we can be wheels up in a couple of hours from the time we decide we want to go somewhere," Logan laughed, Rory had never had any interest in his money, or a lifestyle, that much he had never questioned. "So we have to pick up the marriage papers on…?"
"Thursday," Rory told him, "everyone starts arriving Thursday, your sister and her family are staying at an AIRBNB nearby, everyone else is in hotels, I told them we were sending cars so that everyone can have a few drinks. My Mom, Luke and Dad can come together in one car, no one knows about the other side...so Honor knows about your parents, and thinks we are insane, by the way, but my side doesn't know about your side."
"How are you always so organized?" Logan laughed, she had thought of things he never would have considered.
"I have four kids, soon to be five," she told him honestly, being disorganized had never been an option for her. Not only was she a hyper vigilant Type A personality in order to compensate for Lorelai when she was younger, once she had kids and a husband who was travelling most of the time, it continued to be necessary for Rory to plan every last second of her days. "If I wasn't organized, we would eat alphagetti and stale crackers."
"Some people live off that garbage," Logan joked.
"Well, if the crackers are fresh, you would have my childhood in a nutshell."
"So then we see everyone on Friday?" he asked for more information about the plan.
Rory nodded, "everyone will be picked up and brought to the house at four, we get married," she smiled at him, trying to hide some of her excitement, "then we have a nice dinner, relax."
"This sounds like the perfect wedding. Will there be speeches?"
Rory paused, "well, I thought maybe we could do a speech and tell them."
"You want to tell them as a group?" Logan had to admit, he was shocked. He had expected he would tell his father in a meeting room so that Mitchum could act as though this was a business merger he had some control over.
"We're over thinking this," Rory told him honestly, "we are nearly forty, I have four kids already, we don't need babysitting or financial assistance...so I say we just enjoy it. We put it in a slide show or something. It isn't a conversation, this isn't a question. I'm not asking if I can have a baby. We are having a baby, and they are going to be aunts, uncles, and Grandparents respectively…"
"Wow, so resolute," Logan smiled. He was glad. He knew how Rory had been affected by his parents when they were younger, and he had learned long ago, the best way to deal with Mitchum and Shira on a personal level was to keep your expectations low. At worst, they could never disappoint him, at best, he could be pleasantly surprised. "What have you got on the agenda this afternoon?"
"You will be sorry that you are missing this," Rory grinned. She hadn't told Logan about the Zoom call she needed to make that afternoon, "I have a call with Taylor."
"Doose?"
Rory nodded, "the one and only."
"Where is my invite?"
"You have a bajillion dollar deal to close, so I thought I could handle Stars Hollow on my own."
"I'm glad you have finally admitted it," Logan rubbed his chin and laughed.
Rory was confused now, "about what? That I can handle Stars Hollow."
Logan shook his head and smiled, "no, that Taylor Doose is in fact Stars Hollow."
"Oh my god, why don't you just marry him?"
"Is that a choice?" Logan joked, rubbing his chin with his thumb and forefinger as he spoke, "you marry Johnny, I'll marry Taylor?"
"You probably have a better shot with Taylor than I do Johnny."

Rory tucked her hair behind her ear as she sat in Logan's home office waiting for Taylor and the rest of the Stars Hollow Building Department to log onto the call. She had fought with him over the phone for twenty minutes and had to send her mother to find Taylor and convince him to agree to a virtual meeting. He had insisted, repeatedly, that Rory would be treated just like any other person building a home in Stars Hollow. It had only taken Luke agreeing once again to the outdoor ice cream truck in front of the diner, and Lorelai's repeated pestering about the time that Taylor had pretend to be stuck out of town and had called a midnight virtual town meeting.
"Oh, Rory, why hello, we thought you might be late, but here you are," Taylor's voice dripped with sarcasm. "Wasn't sure if all that sunshine had messed with your ability to keep time."
Rory smiled and waved at the squares on her computer screen. Taylor, Miss Patty, Babette, Andrew and Tom were the members of the committee, people who had known her since she was an infant, "hi everyone, thank you for meeting with me. I understand we have some, shall we say… hiccups?"
"Oh honey, I don't even know why we're here," Miss Patty put her hand up as though she was whispering and Taylor couldn't hear her.
"Patty, doll, stahp it, we can hear you and see you!" Babette chastised her. "But really Taylor, why are we here?"
"Yes Patty, please. This is official town business," Taylor rolled his eyes and made a point of shuffling around the papers in front of him and ignoring Babette in the process.
"Well Taylor, please, if you could let me know what the problem is with the house, I'm sure that between us we can rectify it."
"Well it's the gate," Taylor told her.
"The gate?" Rory repeated.
"Yes, your design for the lot, it includes the structure of the home, the pool house, a detached garage, the pool, a gazebo and outdoor dining area, and a gate."
"And?"
"Well, no, Rory...the gate is the problem."
"What is the problem with the gate?" Rory ran a hand through her hair.
"Well what if someone needed to enter the property?" Taylor asked her as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Well anyone who needed to access the property would have access to the gate, and for emergency personnel, the siren would activate the gate."
"So what if say…Andrew over here," Taylor gestured vaguely to the computer, "wanted to come over? He wouldn't be able to get in? That hardly feels like the kind of Stars Hollow hospitality that we want to provide. That feels like a big city decision. I'm sure that out in California you don't worry about borrowing a cup of sugar from a neighbour, but what if your neighbour needed sugar?"
Tom made a visibly confused face on camera and Patty and Babette both rolled their eyes, Andrew on the other hand seemed to be trying to communicate with someone off camera. Rory took a deep breath, Logan was lucky he wasn't here, his head would surely be nearing the point of explosion by now. "Well Taylor, if we are expecting guests, I would imagine we would open the gate, or provide them an access code, however to maintain some privacy we will likely not be opening the doors to gawkers. Our home will be just that, a home for ourselves and our children," Rory paused and took a breath but made sure to continue before Taylor could butt in. "However, of course, someone like Andrew, or any of the fine members of the community in which I have lived for many years, the one my mother and stepfather are active members of, all of you fine members of the building department….you would all be welcome in my home, just the same as you are welcome in any home in Stars Hollow."
"And what about your neighbours?" Taylor scoffed.
"Taylor, Sookie and Jackson are my neighbours, I am the godmother of one of their kids, of course they are welcome in my home. What is this really about? I swear I don't have the-" Rory began.
"Oh and now you don't have time for us? Just busy throwing all of your billionaire money around and no time for the little people?"
Rory crossed her legs under the desk and rolled her eyes, "Taylor that is not what I said. I have four children, I have a job, and a construction budget that gets bigger every time something like this comes up. What do I need to do?"
"Stars Hollow High needs a new computer lab."
"I'm sorry, what?" Rory tried to keep the frustration out of her voice.
"The high school, the one you went to very briefly, it needs a new computer lab."
Rory nodded, now she understood. She should have expected this. "And you would like us to donate it?"
"Oh I could never ask you to do such a thing. A member of the Stars Hollow Building Department can't ask for donations for the town in exchange for well…favours."
"Oh give it up Taylor, you want her money!" Patty exclaimed, "can we please get off of this damned talking box!"
"I will send you a cheque once I have it in writing that the gate is fine," Rory glared, "just call me next time Taylor, it will be faster!"
"How do I know that you won't change your mind once you have the e-mail?" Taylor countered.
"Come on Taylor!" Andrew groaned, "this is Rory we are talking about!"
Rory nodded her head in appreciation for the comment, "yes Taylor, as Andrew has pointed out, I am me, so you will just have to trust that when I say I will do it, I will do it. Now, please, can we just get this over with?"
"Well, I suppose, where can I e-mail you?"
"You have my e-mail from the permits, Taylor. Look it up!" Rory disconnected the call and shook her head. She opened up her e-mail to see the contract from the caterer she had managed to hire on such short notice for the wedding next week. Turned out he was an old friend of Sookie's, so when Rory had told Sookie she needed help for a last minute party, Sookie had happily hooked them up. Apparently some things had changed since her last wedding because now she had hired a very expensive but apparently very efficient event designer as opposed to a wedding planner. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately depending on who you were asking, Logan would be officially signing his deal with Tom Anders on Monday and in the geeky tech world, this was a huge deal. The notion, as Logan had explained it was that if this launch was successful, and he was confident it would be, they would be revolutionizing how millennials and gen-z would search for products and services. The platform was like Google but a step up in terms of quality control. All of Silicon Valley had eyes on LHM and Logan.

"We should have done this yesterday," Rory was trying not to show her annoyance as she and Logan walked up the steps of city hall in San Francisco, "we were supposed to do this yesterday."
"I'm sorry," Logan gave her hand a squeeze, "things got nuts at work, I'm all yours now."
"How kind," Rory smirked, "we're getting married in a couple of hours."
"So what you're saying is to woo you, I should have worked less, and then picked up hours once we were married?" Logan laughed as they made it inside and to the clerk. They provided the necessary paperwork and Rory felt a wave of calm come over her as they got their license, "no cold feet?" Logan asked almost an hour later as they were walking back out to the waiting car.
Rory shook her head, "feet are very warm."
"You look beautiful," Logan placed his hand on her lower back as they walked. She was wearing a white Babaton dress she had picked up quickly at Aritzia and an aluminum blue double breasted top coat from J Crew and a pair of sensible black pumps. It was intentional, of course, she was wearing a new white dress, a blue jacket, her engagement ring was a Huntzberger heirloom, it was old, and maybe it wasn't officially borrowed, but Rory never really considered any of Emily's old things hers she always considered them the property of Emily Gilmore, that was no different for the borrowed freshwater pearls in her ears. Every single piece of Rory Gilmore's outfit was decided with precision and purpose. She was getting married that day, to the love of her life, and if there were pictures of them out and about, which, given the media circus around Logan that week, there would be…one day it would click to someone what she had done. There was a large white tent in the backyard, the wedding cake had been brought in when it was still dark that morning. The only thing Rory would have changed was that if she could have had her boys with her through the day, she would have, but it wasn't feasible, so instead Perry had dropped them off with Lorelai just before lunch. Lorelai had, of course, questioned why she couldn't see her daughter for a full twenty four hours after her arrival in California, but had believed Rory when she explained that it was because of the business deal Logan had closed. They had a work thing to attend, and then it would be family time.
By the time they got home, Rory looked at her phone to see the time and noted that they were about an hour away from go time as they had started calling it. "Logan?"
"Hmm?" Logan smiled at her as they stood in the house, probably the last time it would be truly quiet that weekend, even though there were dozens of people milling around.
"You sure about this?"
"I think it is too late, even if I wasn't sure, this is remarkable," he told her as he looked around. The main floor was covered in flowers. White and pale pink roses were everywhere, the ceiling was draped, he moved outside and saw the tent, twinkle lights and romantic votives, more flowers, he was pretty sure he could see a flower wall. "I think we have every rose in the state in this place."
"Is it too much?" Rory asked as he put his arms around her, they were standing in the backyard now, under the tent where they would be married in a short time.
He shook his head and kissed her, "no, this is perfect. I just hope Josh doesn't show up in sweatpants or something."
"I told everyone to dress nicely," Rory laughed. "I'm going to go and freshen up, and you," she put both of her hands on his chest, "need to change. See you soon?"
"See you at the altar?"
"I'll be the one in white," Rory smiled. She looked at her watch, her Mom would be arriving in a few minutes with the boys, she had gone back and forth but ultimately decided to tell them about the wedding just before it happened. She wanted them to walk with her down the aisle and she had purchased tuxedos to match Logan when they did. She would also ask her Mom to be her matron of honour. They weren't having a traditional wedding party, not was anything particularly traditional about the event, but she knew that Lorelai would be standing beside her, and Colin, Finn and Robert would stand with Logan. Rory almost didn't notice the knock on the door as it became louder and giggles erupted from the other side of it. Rory smiled and swung the door open.
"Kid, you didn't tell me what a swanky neighbourhood this was," Lorelai began shuffling the boys in before looking up and gasping ever so slightly at the room. "Are you?" she looked at her daughter, "are we?" another pause, "today?"
Rory smiled and nodded, a few tears came to her eyes as Lorelai wrapped her in a hug, "honey, you didn't tell me?"
"This," Rory sniffled, "is me telling you. You aren't mad?"
Lorelai put her hands on both of Rory's cheeks, "not mad," she promised her, "a bit disappointed that you didn't warn me so that I could wear something different."
"You look beautiful, Mom."
"Of course I look beautiful, but I could have looked beautiful-er if I had known."
"Mom?" Luca finally interrupted the women, "why are there so many flowers?"
Rory smiled as she gestured for the boys to come closer to her and she knelt down in front of them, "Logan and I have a surprise for everyone, we are…" she paused and looked at all of them, they were all smiling, she could tell Luca thought he was getting a present, "getting married today."
"Today?" Eli exclaimed.
Rory nodded, "is that alright with you guys? We just wanted it to be special, and our family and that is it."
"Do we get to do anything?" Luca asked, he knew one of his friends had recently been involved in a wedding.
"Well, I thought that maybe you four could help me walk down the aisle? How does that sound?"
"In this?" Eli looked down at his outfit. He had been to a few weddings, certainly enough to know that his jeans and t-shirt were not wedding appropriate.
"Go upstairs and see Logan, he will help you get ready."
"Wow," Lorelai breathed as the boys can up the stairs, "you thought of everything? When did you decide?"
"About a week ago," Rory admitted with a laugh, "we just…what are we waiting for? We can do a big proper party with everyone from town when we move…but we just want to be together."
Lorelai smiled. She knew that feeling. The one where you would jump over any hurdle just to try to be with the person you loved. She remembered clinging to Luke for dear life and giving him an ultimatum to marry her. It hadn't worked then, but they had sorted themselves out in time and Lorelai wished she had never wasted a second of their time together. "So then, where do we get dressed?"
Rory grinned and dragged her mother upstairs to the master bedroom. She could hear Logan and the boys giggling from Eli's room where they were getting ready. "So," Rory breathed as she unzipped the garment bag that had been hanging in the closet for two days, "what do you think?" she asked as she revealed a white, floor length, off the shoulder Stella McCartney dress that she had managed to find at a department store that week.
"Oh Rory," Lorelai smiled, "honey this is beautiful. I thought though…?"
"That dress will take a while to come in, and it will be the dress I wear for the big party…but today is simple. Today is just…it's just me and Logan."
Lorelai nodded and smiled as she watched Rory take off the casual white dress she had been sporting, Lorelai helped her zip her way into the new dress and smiled at the image of her daughter. She had done this before. She had enjoyed this moment with a throng of other women. Bridesmaids, her mother, the future mother in law…but this moment was just Rory and Lorelai. "How long do we have?"
"Maybe fifteen minutes?" Rory told her. Her hair was in loose curls that she had styled that morning, her makeup was natural and fresh, she just needed some more lipstick and she would continue to wear the earrings that she had worn earlier in the day. She could hear the doorbell ringing downstairs, Logan's assistant was there, and sworn to secrecy, to let people in and guide them outside to the tent.
"Well, I don't know that I have much marriage advice, but just…be happy kid, no matter what…follow the path that leads to happy."
"I think I've got that part down," Rory blushed.
"Then I guess I should go downstairs and meet Luke before he gets eaten by the Huntzbergers…I assume they are coming?"
"Yes," Rory nodded, "his parents are coming to his wedding."
"Well I will protect Luke, and your Dad…because I'm a good person."
"Mom, I want you to stand next to me…"
"I wouldn't be anywhere else," Lorelai gave her a hug.

Honor was standing in the backyard ignoring her parents and watching her boys, hoping they wouldn't knock over a candle and set the place on fire when she saw her brother emerge in a black Armani tuxedo, she immediately ran to him and pulled him in a hug. "You could have told me."
"Told you what?" Logan played dumb.
"You guys are really doing it?"
"Wait and see," Logan shrugged. Upon reaching the backyard, you would have had to be a complete idiot to not realize exactly what was happening that afternoon, but Logan still liked the element of surprise to it. He greeted Lorelai, Luke and Christopher warmly after leaving his sister and then made his way to his parents who were chatting with Josh, all three with a cocktail in their hands, "thanks for coming," he raised his eyebrows and smiled with his lips shut.
"Thank you for inviting us," Mitchum spoke simply but firmly, Mitchum Huntzberger was not a sentimental man. He had spent absolutely no amount of time in his life worrying about who his son would marry or what kind of event it would be, he knew the same could not be said for his wife who had been trying to marry their children off since they were in their teens. While Mitchum wasn't sentimental, he also wasn't stupid. He knew well enough that the invitation that he and his wife had received hadn't really come from Logan. His son wouldn't care if they were at his wedding, and why would he? They had barely been receptive to the relationship. While they hadn't been hostile towards Rory, they also hadn't been welcoming. Mitchum and his wife had received an invitation to this intimate affair because of Rory. "Or I suppose I have your bride to thank for that?"
Logan nodded, "Rory put all of this together, including the guest list."
"Well it really is beautiful," Shira finally spoke as she straightened Logan's bow tie. "You look handsome."
"Thank you, Mom," Logan nodded. "So…before the ceremony, I just…" Logan paused and noticed that Josh was distancing himself from the conversation slowly but effectively, "the bullshit, the prenup, the jabs…you are here today because Rory was willing to look past it all and do the right thing. She is a mother," he looked pointedly at his own mother, "and she knew that she stand to not see one of her boys get married, and so she extended you that same grace…"
"Are you happy?" Shira asked him. She had never asked him that. Not when he was dating her in his twenties, and not in any of the years to follow. Logan nodded, "I suppose then that all your father and I can ask for is a son who is happy, and successful, and loved."
"But not necessarily in that order," Logan corrected her, "the love, the happiness, my family…that all comes first. The success, Mom, that is not what matters here."
"We're happy for you, Logan," Mitchum nodded to the space that had been turned into an altar of sorts, "but I think it's time for you to go."
Logan nodded and walked away from his parents. He was past the point of believing that they would be decent humans when it came to his choices, but he hoped for the best, like he always did. The only difference now is that he wasn't disappointed when they proved him wrong. Logan gave a broad smile when he saw Colin, Finn and Robert walking towards him. He had sent tuxedos to their hotel rooms. He hadn't really imagined a wedding, ever. But anytime he thought about the idea of getting married a few things were true. It was always to Rory Gilmore, and it was always with the three of them standing beside him. "You guys got the memo?"
"I hate these things," Finn joked, "so what is the schtick tonight? I don't see many single women…"
"Come on men," Colin spoke as he clapped a hand on Logans shoulder, "lets get our boy married."
Logan laughed and embraced the boys before leading them to the altar and the officiant who was just some man that they managed to find who was legally allowed to marry them. They had met exactly once over a cup of coffee 72 hours prior. He exhaled as the small group of people they had invited formed a group in front of him with a small space in the middle where a white runner had been placed to create an aisle.
Wise men say
Only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you?
The music was soft and Logan could feel tears before she even came into his line of sight. Before she made it out of the patio door flanked with her four children, the fifth carried safely inside of her. Logan swallowed the lump in his throat as she walked slowly towards him. He had thought on more than one occasion since they had gotten back together that she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, and somehow in this moment, she was more beautiful to him than all of the rest. Logan smiled at her and mouthed slowly for her to see, I love you.
I love you too, Rory mouthed back with a smile on her face. She had spent a few minutes with just her boys. She had told them of the new beginning, and how one day when they were old enough to understand it all, she would tell them about her and Logan, about why and how they fell in love. The boys walked slowly, and she appreciated that, their final few seconds as a party of five, Eli was on her right and he squeezed her hand as they went. Eli, Rory smiled. He was an ever constant reminder of exactly what it meant to be a mother, what it meant to love something so much it hurt, and what it meant to create a family that wasn't blood. Maybe that is why she had stopped questioning how much Logan loved her children. She knew. She knew what it was like to love a child, to have a child that wasn't hers by blood but was hers in all of the ways that mattered. She was the person that Eli wanted when he was hurting, when he was happy, or proud or had an accomplishment, Rory was the mother that Eli looked to. "I love you," Rory whispered in Eli's ear as they walked and he smiled and returned the sentiment. When they reached Logan, all four of her boys gave her a hug and Rory couldn't help but let a few tears escape her eyes as she told them all how much she loved them, and then for a moment, Logan did the same. He embraced them one by one and assured them that he would always be in their corner, no matter what, and that he would always love them.
A moment later he turned to Rory and took her hands, smiling he whispered in her ear how beautiful she looked and that this was her last chance to make a run for it.
"I can't run in heels," Rory promised him quietly as they turned to face the officiant.
Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be
The officiant waited a moment and spoke with a smile, "welcome everyone, I'm sure you have figured out by now that we are here to join in holy matrimony, Rory Gilmore and Logan Huntzberger," he smiled and gave the group a moment to absorb the words, "today we are brought together by love. These two," he nodded to Rory and Logan, "are making a choice today to love each other every day for the rest of their lives. I believe that they have prepared their own vows to start today," he turned to Logan, "you may begin."
Logan cleared his throat and looked at Rory, he quickly threw a glance to her four boys who were standing between Luke and Christopher. "Rory," he smiled, "I told you once how everything you did, everything you were, everything you are, it amazed me," Logan smiled, thinking back to his first proposal which had not ended the way he had hoped, "and here we are all these later and those words are as true now as they ever were. I can promise you a lot of things, but most of all I can promise you that I will spend the rest of my life doing everything I can to make you happy. I can promise to love you, and," he turned to the boys, "Eli, Luca, James and Christopher, I will love you until the day I die. I will always be there for you," Logan turned back to Rory, "I promise to make sure that our newspaper subscription is always active and I promise to always keep you caffeinated. I will probably miss some things, and maybe even come home late from work," Logan laughed and Rory smiled, squeezing his hands as he spoke and her grin grew, "but I will always come back and you will always by my home. I love you Rory Gilmore and I will spend the rest of my life showing you just how much."
"Rory?"
Rory felt nervous, she wasn't sure why. They were surrounded by a small group of loved ones, people who wanted what was best for them, people who wanted them to be happy. "Logan, I'm sorry it has taken us so long to get here," she told him honestly, "but I think that all of the things that have happened in-between have helped to create this remarkable little family we have. I want to thank you. Thank you for being patient, and kind, thank you for your support which is undying and everlasting. Mostly I want to thank you for loving me, and the kids. I cannot promise you a home cooked meal at the end of a day," she laughed, "because you know better than anyone that I didn't have the best example of that growing up," she shot a pointed wink at her own mother, "but I promise you that for every day for the rest of our lives, you will come home to a house full of love. You will come home to a wife who believes in you, who is proud of you, a wife who loves you more than anything. I love you Logan Huntzberger, and I plan to spend the rest of my life showing you just how much."
Take my hand
Take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you
Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Logan smiled at the words and the officiant again gave a moment before he spoke, "if you have the rings, do you, Logan Elias Huntzberger, take Lorelai Leigh Gilmore to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold from this day forward as long as you both shall live?"
"I do," Logan paused and smiled, Rory was smiling and her blue eyes sparkling as he did, slowly slipping the band, covered in Asscher cut diamonds on her finger.
"And Rory, do you Lorelai Leigh Gilmore take Logan Elias Huntzberger to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold from this day forward as long as you both shall live?."
"I do," Rory giggled, she delicately slipped the yellow gold band on his finger. Her thumb stroking the band gently as she did.
"Then by the power vested in me, by the State of California, and in the eyes of god, all of your family and friends, by your children," he looked at the boys and smiled, "pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."
Logan put his hands on Rory's cheeks and kissed her sweetly, he bit ever so lightly on her bottom lip and she smiled into his kiss as her arms went around his neck, blissfully unaware for just a moment that they were surrounded by their family as she pressed her body into his. "I love you," Rory whispered as they finally pulled away to a round of applause from their guests.
"Happiest man in the world," Logan whispered to her.
Take my hand
Take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you
For I can't help falling in love with you
