Note: Okay, I'll be honest with you guys: I have only seen gameplay footage of the Legacy of Kain franchise. Even though Fox basically became Raziel, he will have slightly different abilities than the latter. Before we move on, I have something to say to EquinoxWolf.

EquinoxWolf: Thanks for your compliments towards Death's lines about what gives life its meaning. It's not nihilistic to say that death and morality give life its meaning, it's actually true. If edgelords won't accept it, they can go sit in syrup. About Fox wanting Falco and Katt to name their kid after him, he was, in fact, losing a lot of blood. So you can't blame him for having such a silly thought. You still can't blame Krystal for killing him, as Wolf/Volk was controlling her. Don't worry, the one-eyed lupine King of the Vampires is not going to get away with it.

Now, without further ado, let's jet!

Chapter 14: Back to the Castle

Deep within the dungeon, the prisoners were sleeping soundly. Katt was even cuddling up with Falco, along with Bill quietly keeping watch over them. The others were fast asleep, to the point where an earthquake couldn't wake them up. In spite of being captured by vampires, they were all together. The fact that Star Wolf was kind enough to imprison all of them together didn't hurt.

All of a sudden, footsteps were coming into the room. The noise was loud enough to wake everyone up.

"Is that you Fox?" Peppy yawned.

"Did you slay Star Wolf?" Bill asked.

"Did you get the key?" Slippy sat up.

However, it was not Fox who had arrived into the room, but rather Volk.

"That Pup couldn't have picked a worse day to fight us," The one-eyed vampire snorted, "he couldn't even see what we were now capable of."

"Where's Fox?!" Falco asked angrily.

"Did you do something to him?!" Katt glared at the lupine.

"Quick to catch on, aren't we?" Volk laughed, "It's all over mortals, Fox McCloud is dead."

Everyone was shocked by what he had said.

"No!" Slippy wailed.

"I-it can't be!" Lucy screamed.

"Oh James," Peppy sadly looked at the ground, "I failed you."

"No, not Fox!" Bill was mortified.

"He can't be dead!" Katt was tearing up, "No, that's not true! Please tell me your joking!"

"I'm not." Volk coldly stated.

Slippy started to cry while the others looked down in sorrow. Katt herself was trying not to break down, but it was proving to be too hard.

"You bastard!" Falco screamed in both anger and grief, "It's bad enough that you turned some of our allies into blood-sucking monsters, but you've killed one of my best friends?! You fucking monster, do you have no shame?!"

"I've always wanted Fox to die, bird." The lupine vampire said, "With him gone, I can continue on with my plan."

"What plan?" Bill asked.

Volk stated "It's a simple one: I will have our army spread throughout the rest of the Lylat System. When we run out of planets to claim, we shall travel to other galaxies and infect them with our undead minions. If at all possible, we might even send the undead to alternate dimensions if we discover inter dimensional travel. By the time we get done with the plan, the universe, the multiverse even, will fear and know the name of its new masters: Star Wolf!"

"Someone will stop you, you monster!" Katt shouted in defiance, even though she was still in grief.

"Way to tell him, Katt." Falco said to the pink cat as he put his hand on her shoulder.

"Spunky, isn't she?" Volk smiled, sick desire filling his eyes.

"Why do you ask?" The avian glared at the lupine.

Without warning, the King of the Vampires opened the cell and grabbed Katt. Putting her against a wall, the one-eyed vampire lustfully grinned.

"Because," Volk chuckled, "I want to know if she would like to be penetrated by a real man!"

"Falco is a real man, you psycho!" Katt hissed.

"But I'm better than he is." The one eyed lupine said while caressing the pink cat's face, "I'm going to make you feel something that he never did."

"You wouldn't!" The feline's eyes widened.

"It won't hurt as long as you relax." Volk licked her face while he pulled her pants off.

"No! Don't do it!" Katt whimpered.

"I don't take no for an answer, Kitten." The one-eyed vampire whispered before pushing her to the ground.

"Get away from me!" The pink cat wailed, "I don't want this!"

"But you'll like it!" The lupine laughed, savoring what he was going to do.

"You bastard, leave her alone!" Falco screamed.

"Stay out of this, Lombardi!" Volk shouted back before moving towards the avian's girlfriend.

Katt could only move backwards. She had nowhere to go, but she didn't want to remain still. If she did, Volk would have painfully made her his. The pink cat let out a few whimpers, hoping that it would be enough for the one-eyed lupine to leave her alone. However, his motivation was clear and he wasn't going to let her go.

"When we get done," Volk bent down to Katt, "I'll make you into one of my servants."

"No!" The feline shrieked, tears welling up in her eyes.

"That wasn't an option, Monroe." The King of the Vampires smiled in sick satisfaction. He then forcefully kissed the pink cat with utter lust.

"Wait!" A certain pink hare shouted.

Everyone looked at Lucy.

"What do you want?" Volk asked.

"If you're going to turn someone into your servant," Lucy said, "then turn me!"

"Good offer." The lupine vampire said as he got up.

"Have you lost your mind?!" Bill asked in horror.

"Don't do it!" Peppy said to his daughter.

"Please Dad, let me do this." The younger hare said.

"No," The old hare said, "we already lost Fox and the other girls, I can't lose you!"

"If I give myself to him," Lucy surmised, "he might leave Katt alone."

"But you're risking your soul!" Slippy wailed.

"I know." The pink hare said.

"Are you ready?" Volk asked as he opened the cell.

"Do it." Lucy closed her eyes. She then felt his fangs get buried into her neck for a few seconds. When that was out of the way, the daughter of Peppy Hare was now a vampire.

"I have to ask you something." The one-eyed lupine stated.

"What is it?" The now vampire Lucy asked.

"Why did you really want me to turn you?" The mercenary-turned-vampire asked.

"The thing is," The hare said, "I have always had a crush on you. But I didn't just have you turn me because of that, I was just trying to protect my friend."

"How heroic of you." Volk said as he went over to Katt and put her back in her cell.

"What do you want me to do, Mr. Volk?" Lucy asked.

"Nothing," The one-eyed lupine said, "other than coming up to the coffin room with me."

"Okay." The hare smiled as they left the room, leaving the prisoners by themselves.

Fox was now walking towards an area where he, Fara, and Orlando could enter the castle without being caught by one of Volk's minions.

"What is it?" Fara asked, looking at a cellar door.

"It's our only way in now that Volk is increasing the guard." Fox stated.

"How do you know that?" Orlando asked.

"After my resurrection," The undead vulpine said, "I got powers that allow me to do stuff that I couldn't do before."

"Like stating the obvious?" The coyote asked.

"Other than that!" Fox groaned.

Fara tried to open the cellar door, but it wouldn't budge.

"Is it locked?" Orlando asked.

"Either that or it's bolted shut!" The fennec said.

"We have to get in there somehow." The coyote looked at the cellar door.

"Maybe I could get it open." Fox suggested.

"Go for it." Fara said.

Much to the surprise of both Fara and Orlando, Fox had phased through the door.

"Is he a ghost now?" The fennec asked.

"He's either a ghost or a wraith." The coyote said.

The door opened with Fox on the other side. The vulpine's ethereal eyes were glowing in the shadows of the room, while his thinner figure was nearly cloaked in the darkness around him.

"Come on in." The vulpine said.

Swallowing their pride, mainly due to Fox's new abilities, Fara and Orlando entered the room. Due to it being a dark area, Orlando took out a flashlight in spite of Fox's glowing eyes.

"What do we do know?" Fara asked.

"Yeah," Orlando said, "I don't see a door or anything."

"I might have the ability to see through stuff now that Death resurrected me." Fox stated as he looked at the walls.

"Kind of figured that your eyes weren't for show." Orlando said.

Fox's eyes got brighter the closer he was to finding an exit from the room. The vulpine was surprised to know that there was even a way out of the room, as it was walled up.

"Find anything?" Fara asked.

"The wall in the middle will show the way out of here when we push on it." He stated.

Orlando was the first to push on the middle wall. When he got done pushing on it, the wall began to open up like a door. Much to the coyote's surprise, the opening led to the dungeon room.

"Wolf must really like this room." Fara said.

"Of course he does," Fox sighed, "he has prisoners that he can interrogate. If they refuse, he would have Leon torture them."

"Let's set the expositions aside," Orlando said, "we've got an army of monsters and undead creatures to fight!"

"Mr. Helsing, are you there?" Falco asked.

"Of course I am Falco." The coyote smiled.

"I'm here too." Fara nodded.

The two entered the room where they saw Falco sitting next to a frightened Katt, Bill looking down, Peppy facing the wall, and a distraught Slippy.

"Where's your daughter, Peppy?" Fara asked.

"She let Wolf turn her into a vampire." The old hare sighed.

"What?!" The fennec was shocked.

"But she did it to save Katt." Falco said.

"What did he try to do to Katt?" Orlando asked.

"He tried to rape me." The pink cat whimpered.

"That bastard!" Fara balled her hands into fists, "Wait until I get my hands on him!"

"Did you guys hear about Fox?" Slippy asked.

"Yes." Orlando said.

"We saw what happened." Fara stated.

"Then why didn't you do anything to help him?!" Bill shouted in misery, "Why did you watch as he died?!"

"We came too late," The fennec looked down, "we arrived when Krystal had -"

"Krystal?!" Everyone in their cells had screamed.

"But it wasn't her fault," The coyote explained, "Volk had her under his mind control."

"When Krystal snapped out of it," Fara said, "she was crying and apologizing."

"How did you know that she was under mind control?" Katt asked.

"From Fox." Orlando noted.

"But that's impossible, he's dead!" Peppy said.

"Actually, I heard his final thoughts." Falco said.

"What all did he say?" Slippy asked.

"He told me to stage an uprising and for all of us to carry on." The avian stated, "But he also told me to name one of my kids after him. My guess was that he was delirious from blood loss."

"The sad part is," Bill sighed, "we will never hear from the guy again."

"Not quite!" Fox's voice rang out.

"Fox?" Bill was puzzled.

"That's the name, don't wear it out!" The undead vulpine materialized into the room.

Falco, Slippy, Peppy, Katt, and Bill were mortified. To them, it was hard to believe that the figure who was standing in front of them was Fox.

"What's wrong guys, aren't you excited to see me?" The vulpine-turned-monster asked.

"Fox ..." Peppy was nearly speechless, "what happened to you?"

"You look awful!" Slippy felt like crying again.

"I don't believe it." Falco's eyes widened.

"I know that I look scary right now," Fox said, "but Death said that my body will be restored when I either kill Volk or save Krystal."

"What happens if you do both?" Bill asked, shocked that one of his oldest friends had been turned into this thing.

"Death will still restore my body if I do both tasks." The vulpine stated.

All of a sudden, footsteps were heard moving towards the room.

"Shit! Someone's coming!" Fara whispered.

"Hold on to me." Fox said.

"Why?" Orlando asked.

"Just do it!" The vulpine said.

The moment Fara and Orlando touched Fox, they found themselves becoming invisible. Once they were invisible, they were out of sight from who was going to enter the room: Leon.

Dammit, why him? Fox thought to himself.

Leon shook a chain link, which caused the prisoners to cover their ears.

"Annoying, isn't it?" The chameleon taunted.

"Is that the worst you can do?" Falco glared at his nemesis.

"I wanted to whip you all with this," Leon stated, "but Lord Volk said that he wanted you to be unhurt."

"Someone will get us out of here!" Slippy said in defiance.

"I wouldn't count on it," Leon smirked, "Volk will have all of you drained or turned by the time we've began our conquest for the universe."

Not if we can stop it! Fox thought.

"Oh well," Peppy faked sadness, "I guess we will just wait until Wolf knows what to do with us!"

"His name is Volk!" The reptilian assassin-turned-vampire glared at the prisoners, "Remember that, dammit!"

Leon walked out of the room, which allowed Fox, Fara, and Orlando to become visible again. Once they were visible, the three walked to the doorway.

"We'll see you guys later," Fara said, "we just need to defeat Star Wolf."

"Indeed," Orlando stated, "we'll even share our story with the citizens of the Lylat System."

"But for now," Fox's eyes glowed a much darker color, "we need to free Krystal, Fay, and Miyu from Volk's control. As for the army of the undead, we will slaughter each of them in order to weaken Star Wolf's plans for galactic conquest. Even if I have to suck blood and eat souls, I will make sure that Volk will not see the end of this day!"

"You can do it, guys!" Slippy cheered.

"Make sure that you rip that crazy lizard to pieces!" Falco shouted.

"Give those Star Wolf bastards what they deserve!" Katt called out to the three.

"Bring Krystal back to our side and dethrone her as a Queen!" Peppy raised his fist.

"And tell that Fay chick that I love her!" Bill said.

As they left the room, Fox, Fara, and Orlando found themselves in the same hallway they had entered before. This time around, there were no monsters in sight. That would have been the case if not for the zombified people that were approaching them.

"Ghouls?" Orlando asked.

"Great," Fara sarcastically said, "there's an army of them!"

"Don't worry," Fox said with confidence, "with Mr. Helsing's tools, your athletics, and my new abilities, we'll be able to take on whatever Volk sends our way!"

The three then readied their weapons before charging into battle.

Note: I know, cliffhanger, but you can tell that Fox, Fara, and Orlando aren't going to let an army of ghouls get in their way of stopping Star Wolf. As for Fox, he's pretty much a vampiric apparition whose new abilities make him an unpredictable enemy like Krystal would be (she's a telepath after all). It's going to get awkward when Wolf sees that Fox has changed. Also, Krystal is NOT going to have a pleasant time fighting Fox again. What did you guys think of this chapter?
