CHAPTER THIRTY SIX

Stepping down from the podium, Hermione was feeling weak, her vision was hazy and unfocused at best, spotty at worse, she didn't even get to take the step before she became unconscious and hit the floor before any close enough to catch her.

Ron and Ginny were looking rather pleased with themselves. Finally she shut up. They both didn't believe anything that came out of her mouth. Harry and Draco were yelling for Pomfrey, but she will be delayed. They just hoped that the delay was enough to cease Hermione's heart.

INFIRMARY

Alarms began to blare and they weren't the quiet ones that indicated a patient was awake. They were the ones that blared when vital statistics became under threat. Harry's patronus appeared, 'hurry' was all it said and she activated a safety procedure that brought down an anti-aparation net over the school and village. She then aparated to the great hall.

When she reached Hermione she was entering cardiac arrest. She didn't bother with the infirmary. She went straight to St. Margo's. Harry and Draco following closely behind. The reception area and the welcome witch were in a fluster. Healers poured out from everywhere, and Hermione was transported to the 'Curses and Hexes' ward.

It took a team of six healers eight hours to bring Hermione to a stable condition. She was going to be kept there as the curse wasn't just one but many. They had to separate and treat each one before moving on. The overall outcome of the combined curses was to cause catastrophic failure of all the body's systems and depletion of the magical core. Eventually untreated and left alone it would put the afflicted into a coma as the body wastes away until death.

Severus was in with Harry and Draco. Sitting next to the witch as she slept. The team of Medi-Healers were working in shifts to stop the worst case happening. They believed that they had caught it in time and they just needed to keep working at it before the curse could come into full effect. It was a total of eight days later when they declared that she was curse free and was moved to a private room on the same floor. They were going to hold her for another two weeks to make sure that the lasting effects had been neutralised.

The Daily Prophet mentioned the special seating of the Wizengamot .

MERLIN'S PROPHESY REVEALED

There has been a revelation for the wizarding world. A lost prophesy of Merlin has been found. The copy that was given to this daily publication leaves no room for doubt. The prophesy that is over a millennium old, has come to its near conclusion. According to reliable sources attached to the Ministry said that the session had to be held and that the information wasn't just for them it was for everyone.

Is this a muggle trick? Or is it something more? Who knows as these are the questions that are floating around the hallways of our hallowed Ministry.

Stay tuned for further information as it becomes available.

HOGWARTS

The students submitted to questioning via the Auror's present. The questions were simple and time was short. Anyone who had information or their answers needed further exploration were asked to remain after the out of country students were released to return to their homes.

The Weasleys thought that they had got away with a perfect crime until a letter passed through from Molly. Congratulating the duo in effectively making Hermione a squib if not deceased. She had kept going on how she was so proud she was. And that it was only a matter of time before Harry was brought to heel. Either to keep his sister alive or out of grief due to her death.

This was released in full disclosure to the Prophet. Furthering Molly's legal problems as her trial had been pushed back again with more evidence being found from Harry's accounts. Ron's date was finally named through the Wizengamot to face charges, the assault and battery charges they started out with now became attempted murder and what shocked Ginny so much was she was arrested for accessory to the crimes from both her mother and her brother. She was protesting her innocence as the Auror's removed her from the school when they collected her brother.

This has a waterfall effect as the rest of the members of the family were put on suspension pending an investigation except Charlie and Bill. They had no motive to harm anyone. The throne had provided well for the two as they were in the employ of both the ministry and the adviser ship of other members of the muggle government. They hadn't changed their activities nor changed themselves. But they were set up for several generations. They did however renew their contracts considering the familial problems that they were facing.

The next day's Prophet was overshadowed by the trio of Weasley's and their current residence in the ministry's below ground holding cells. Arthur had not visited them, as he never approved of his wife and her filling their children's heads of false grandeur. As he believed that the only grandeur in life was what you made for yourself and earned through perseverance and hard work. He tried to lead his family down the right path but something changed after the war. It was gradual but the changes were there. Molly stating to ask for more expensive items, or going to restaurants that they couldn't afford. When Arthur looked at his finances he saw that the money for the meals and outings were not deducted. So when the ministry asked to look at his ledger he freely gave his permission while his wife was away from the house. He was more shocked that this had been going on for years. He also knew that his job in the ministry was now beyond a doubt not his anymore.

With Charlie and Bill's help he got a non disclosure contract from the ministry stating that his financial affairs weren't to be publicised and that the he helped with the information gathering without co-erosion.

Arthur was reigned to the fact that he would have to pick up odd jobs here and there to make the ends meet. At the forefront of his mind was the Burrow. It was on a big lot of land and he wondered if he could keep up with the requirements to keep a magical place. The once placid and easy going man was a mess of nerves and worry for the future.

"Do you trust Char and myself dad?" Bill asked his father a week before the trials in the Wizengamot.

"Of course I do Bill, why wouldn't I. Its the younger ones and your mother I don't trust. Heaven knows what she did with all that money over time. When I keep thinking about it all it keeps turning my stomach and gives me ingestion of a feral quality."

"Char has put you name forward as a representative for the royal family. You will have to work as an ambassador to both realms. But there are developments where you will see your dreams come true. Us and the muggles being together."

"Bill and I were recruited for this sort of work long ago. When we left Hogwarts in fact. They also keep their other representatives separate in case of what happened less than a year ago happens again. Hermione is one so is Draco." Charlie explained.

In a very Twin like move Bill picked it up from there. "Char worked with their muggle equivalent of Magical beast control, like the dragons and half human beasts – veelas, vampires, centaurs, giants that sort of thing. I work with code cracking just like Gringotts and curse cracking. You really would be amazed on how many muggles have solid ties to our world with the artefacts they bring forward for checking."
