Author's Notes
Wow, it's been a long time since my last update. It seems that now the chapters will take longer to come out because I spend a lot of time thinking about how things will unfold. But for now, here is the next chapter, fresh out of the oven.
But first, we are going to respond to the reviews.
Guest 1138: I'm glad you're enjoying the plot with the aliens. I was already worried that no one would like it. Comments like yours show me that they do like the story. Yeah, poor interns. I'm surprised that the show kept some interns for the last three seasons.
ZNBT: Actually, I was inspired by Lord Dominator from Wander Over Yonder, since I hadn't seen the movie, but I watched some scenes and noticed that Big Momma and Super Super Big Doctor actually share several similarities on their personalities. You also guessed the reference to Jungle Book (2016) with King Louie.
Now yes, let's go to the chapter!
Total Drama: Enchanted
Chapter 15 - Find the Impostor
"NOT AGAIN!"
The eleven contestants were sleeping peacefully on a hard metal floor, in an unfamiliar room, with no windows to the outside world, but there were many dining tables.
The first to wake up was Yoshi, who looks puzzled at his new surroundings, before turning and seeing the other contestants next to him. He proceeds to wake them up, one by one, starting with Felix, who let out a groan of frustration as they woke up again in an unknown place.
The scream was enough to wake the others, who had reactions similar to Felix's. Some again asked about the place, while the rest were already looking for a way out.
"RITA! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW!?"
Hunter angrily growled at Rita, who frowns at being accused again for something she didn't do.
"What is your mania for blaming me for everything?" she asked in exasperation, pushing Hunter's hand away. "I have absolutely nothing to do here."
Hunter pulls Rita by the arm, reaching for the device on her arm, but it was no longer there.
"In case you're wondering, I've left the device in my cabin," Rita explained.
"It would have been very useful now," moaned Raymond.
Confessional
Rita - "Although it pains me to admit it, Hunter is right. The device is unstable, so I have decided to limit its uses until I get back to my lab so I can do more in-depth research. In time I can refocus on my experiments that I had put aside."
"At least it's not a jar of giant bugs" Karen thanked.
"What is this place?" Otis asked.
"I can answer that!"
A door to the room opens, revealing Chris, who was wearing a detective outfit.
"Of course, it was you," Hunter groaned, crossing his arms.
"Good morning, crewmates" greeted Chris. "Did you enjoy your nap?"
"What torture did you send us to this time?" Sonya asked.
"Welcome to today's challenge!" smiled the host. "After running away from me yesterday, I have prepared a challenge for you to make up for. Here the drama will rise to new levels."
"Where are we?" Raymond asked.
"And when did you bring us here?" Sonya added.
"While you guys were quietly lounging in your bunks, the interns and the Chef brought you here" Chris replied.
"Didn't you shoot the interns by the giant slingshot yesterday?" Ginger asked.
"Yes, I did, it was a lot of fun" smiled the host. "Of course, if those interns want me to pay them, they have to keep working for me, and be brave enough to swim back."
"How did you bring me here?" Hunter asked. "I am an extremely light sleeper. There is no way I could have been dragged here without waking up."
"Nothing tranquilizer darts couldn't solve," laughs Chris. "Returning to the main topic, today's challenge will consist of…"
Just then the lights of the place went out. They all gasped and fumbled for a switch to turn on the light so they could see something. Then they heard a scream of terror and something falling to the ground. When the light finally returned, the contestants screamed in panic when they saw what had fallen to the ground:
The lifeless body of Chris McLean, with a knife stuck in his back and lying face down, as blood spread across the floor.
"Oh my gosh! What happened!?" Karen yelled.
"They have killed him!" Ginger said hysterically.
Hunter stepped forward and crouched over Chris's body. As his hand approached the knife in it, it was stopped by a voice that shouted:
"DON'T TOUCH IT!"
Hunter starts and turns to see the person who had yelled: Diego
Diego had brought out a detective outfit, a monocle, a pipe, and a notebook.
"Where did you get all those clothes?" Otis asked surprised.
"This is a job for… Detective Diego Holmes!"
"We all know that Holmes is not your last name" Rita commented.
"I just wanted to check the pulse and the knife," Hunter explained.
"That knife may have the murderer's prints on it. It is important that you don't touch it, or you may be charged for the murder," Diego explained.
"Oh, come on!" Felix exclaimed annoyed. "We all know this is one of Chris' stupid mystery challenges! He already did the exact same thing in season two! Obviously, that's just an ugly Chris doll!" he kicks the body to prove his point.
"Uhm… I don't know, Felix" Sonya said uncertainly. "This body looks very real."
"Surely that pool of blood is just ketchup," Felix testified.
Hunter kneels by the pool of blood, before taking some of it between his fingers and putting it in his mouth. After testing it, he can confirm the answer.
"Yes, this is real blood" affirmed the hunter. "I do not have any doubt about that".
"You mean…?" Karen said, scared. "What has he really been murdered?"
"Yes ... CHRIS IS DEAD!" Lucas confirmed, beginning to cry tragically.
"I think the best thing is to look for the Chef" then proposed Rita. "He could tell us if it's really a test or if Chris… well, you know."
Everyone began to walk around the place where they were, entering through several doors to other rooms, some had giant motors, another that seemed to be the electricity room, and another full of screens, connected to security cameras.
While they were going through the rooms, Otis entered one that made his blood run cold.
There was only one huge window that looked out on the outside, and it turns out they were in a submarine, in the middle of the ocean, underwater, trapped.
Otis began to hyperventilate and sweat in terror. They had all arrived at the scene, finding Otis paralyzed with fright.
"Oh, so we're on a submarine," Hunter commented. "That explains the motors and the electricity room."
"Why does Otis seem to have seen a ghost?" Raymond asked, pointing at the terrified mechanic.
Otis slammed his back against the wall, clinging to it as if his life depended on it.
"The walls… are shrinking!" yelled the mechanic. "The place is flooded! The air is running out! WE ARE GOING TO DROWN!"
Otis went into despair and hit the walls too hard, leaving dents.
"What is happening to him?!" Karen asked, trying to keep her balance.
"He's having a panic attack!" Yoshi exclaimed. "Why?"
"He's afraid of the ocean," Diego said, trying to calm his friend down. "Take it easy my friend! You'll end up sinking the place!"
"WE'RE GOING TO DROWN! GET ME OUT OF HERE!" Otis yelled, as he kept hitting the walls, and the window glass was beginning to crack.
"Someone do something before he plunges us all into the water!" Sonya exclaimed.
Yoshi jumped onto the mechanic's shoulders, and pressed his fingers to the side of his neck, rendering Otis immediately unconscious.
"That will do for now," Hunter said. "But when he wakes up, chaos will ensue."
"I'll keep Otis calm for now" Yoshi said, carrying the unconscious Otis on his shoulders. "You guys take care of this whole murder thing."
When the two left the room, the others stayed to see the waterscape.
"So… Chris just abandoned us on a sub to our luck with a killer on the loose?" asked Felix.
"Knowing him, it's most likely" Karen replied.
When someone else was going to speak, they saw a figure speeding past the glass, like a ghost.
"What was that?" Ginger asked, hiding behind Sonya.
Their answer was answered when they saw a gigantic mouth with sharp teeth embedding itself on the glass, as if trying to enter. The teeth loosen, revealing Fang, who greets them with a sinister smile, as the glass quickly cracks.
"Everyone go back inside!" exclaimed Raymond, running with the others into the submarine, when the glass breaks and the water floods the room and Fang tries to sneak inside the submarine, without success.
They all return to the crime scene, trying to catch their breath.
"That ruins any escape plans through the water," Hunter commented.
"What will we do now?" Karen asked desperately. "We are trapped here with a murderer on the loose!"
"For the umpteenth time, there is no killer!" Felix replied. "It's just another stupid challenge!"
"And what is this challenge about anyway?" Raymond added.
"Guys…" Sonya called out. "I think I have found something useful."
She shows a voice recorder, which she had pulled from Chris's body shirt pocket. The tape recorder had a piece of paper attached that said PLAY ME.
"You weren't supposed to touch the body!" Diego moaned in disappointment.
Sonya plays the tape, and a very thick voice is heard with music you would hear in a horror movie.
"Greetings campers. I want to play a game. You don't know me, but I know you."
"Of course they do know you Chris! Stop messing with that voice distortion!"
"Chef, you just ruined the suspense! I told you to go take the sleeping campers to the sub!"
"As I was saying before the rude interruption, I want to play a fun game with all of you. I recorded this in case of my untimely death before I could explain the delicate situation."
"Weren't you planning on leaving a doll of yours with fake blood at the crime scene?"
"Chef! Shut up! … I'll have to rewind that part."
"In case you haven't noticed yet, you are locked in a damaged submarine. Your challenge is to repair the submarine and get back to the surface, but be careful, because there is an assassin on the loose who will make sure you can never see daylight again".
"However, the killer is not hiding between the walls or anything like that. The killer… IS ONE OF YOU. One of you is an impostor who has been tasked with sabotaging the efforts of others to repair the submarine and to kidnap the others. Whoever discovers the identity of the imposter will get immunity for his team in tonight's vote."
"What tells us that the imposter in this challenge is not this season's mole?" Hunter questioned.
"In case you were wondering, I cannot confirm if the impostor is the mole that has been tormenting you all this season, or is it any other contestant. No one can be sure of that."
"And the cherry on top of the cake, I warn you that the impostor is not the only one you should be concerned about, as Fang is outside the submarine, doing his best to sneak inside and attack all of you. Be careful to prevent him from entering, or you will become shark bait."
"Let the game begin. Survive or be eliminated. It's your decision."
"I told you this was just another silly challenge, and that this was just a doll" said Felix, kicking the body again.
"Alright folks, it's time to discuss this matter" Sonya said. "Let the impostor confess and we can get out of this hideous place."
However, no one said anything. Some were nervous, and the rest kept serious expressions.
"Isn't anyone going to confess? Are they going to be quiet until we sink?"
"And who tells us it's not you, Sonya?" Hunter questioned suspiciously. "After that boring message you automatically took control and looked for suspects."
"Are you accusing me of wanting to harm my friends?" Sonya asked. "Surely they are excuses you use to point the gun at someone else and save yourself."
The others watched the discussion with interest, until Raymond came between them.
"Calm down, both of you. We won't get anywhere if you argue like that," Raymond explained. "For the moment let's focus on repairing this place so we can escape."
Sonya and Hunter grunt in frustration and shake hands dismissively.
"I'll take care of finding the killer!" Diego said, pulling out a magnifying glass. "I'm an expert detective. Once when I was going down the street there was a murder and I solved it. I got into a mess with the mafia, but it was totally worth it. They gave me the keys to the city, which, by the way, they don't open any doors."
"I can go with you?" Ginger asked. "I have experience being a detective as well."
"Of course, my friend" Diego replied. "The more the better."
"I want to play detective too!" Lucas said.
Confessional
Ginger - "I love mystery books and even horror books. I remember at the age of three reading Frankenstein, Jack the Ripper, Dracula, The Raven, and many others. In short, I know all the topics of murder books."
"Who could this alleged killer be?" Karen questioned, bringing her hand to her chin.
"Well… in situations like this, the killer is usually the most innocent person," Ginger explained.
"Like you?" Felix pointed out.
"She… or Lucas," Hunter added, pointing to the boy, who was playing with the hood of his sweatshirt, unaware of anything.
"Did you get that out of a typical mystery book?" Rita asked. "The one that always has that classic plot twist where the killer is always the butler?"
"Something like that, although at present the mysteries are better posed and they have already abandoned that predictable twist," explained Ginger. "Do you read those books too?"
"I don't waste my time reading about boring predictable fantasy" replied the scientist. "I prefer to read about Darwin's theories."
"We will go looking for clues," Diego said then. "The others go do the tasks to repair this submarine."
Otis felt dizzy, as if someone had anesthetized him. He wakes up and begins to remember the whole situation: They were locked in a submarine, in the ocean, underwater, with a murderer on the loose.
Before starting to freak out with fear again, another voice spoke at his side.
"Drink this" Yoshi was sitting on the floor next to him, offering him a cup of tea.
Otis accepts and drinks the liquid quickly, but without choking. Yoshi serves him more, and the mechanic accepts it, this time calmer, and drinks more slowly.
After a few more cups, Otis was finally totally calm, and he was breathing normally again.
"What was that?" Otis asked.
"Green tea" Yoshi replied, pouring himself a cup from a kettle. "Perfect for anxiety"
"Where did you get all this tea set?"
"I always carry it with me for situations like this. Anyone can have a panic attack at any time, including me."
Otis rubs his eyes and sits next to Yoshi, who was peacefully drinking his tea.
"Now that you are back to normal, I am interested in knowing: What was it that caused that panic attack?" Yoshi asked.
"Nothing important. I'm fine" Otis clarified.
"You don't need to do that," Yoshi clarified. "This is a safe place. You can trust me. I know about your fear."
Otis turned to see him. "As you know…?"
"Diego told me" he replied. "It was not his intention to reveal it, but it is good to know why."
"And what will you do now? Make fun of me for being afraid of the ocean?"
"I never make fun of issues like this. Actually, I want to help you with that."
"What are you talking about?" Otis asked with interest.
"I want to help you overcome your fear."
Confessional
Yoshi - "It is good for Otis that he is willing to overcome his fear, since living with fear can only cause his abilities to be affected by not being able to control his emotions."
Rita was working in the electrical room, arranging cables of different colors. When connected, the entire submarine system is back in operation.
"That will do for now" she commented. "Now we can focus on repairing the damaged systems of the other machines."
When she was going to go outside, the door slammed shut, trapping her inside the room. The lights suddenly go out, and Rita sees that someone cut the wires that she had repaired.
"Hey! I just fixed that!" the scientist moaned.
But then she felt a blow to her head. When her body fell to the ground, Rita could no longer feel anything.
Diego, Ginger and Lucas were looking for clues in another room. They had found corridors covered in blood, and there seemed to be a trail that led them to a specific room.
"You know? I love blood. Whenever I stumble, I suck on the blood, it tastes salty and metallic!" Diego commented.
"Shhhhh!" Ginger shut him up. "It is possible that the murderer is still in the room."
They peeked over the door, when then ...
"Aaaahhhh!" screamed a high-pitched voice. Diego and Ginger turned, scared, looking for who that voice came from.
"Sorry ... that was me" said Lucas, embarrassed. "It's just, look!"
What Lucas was pointing to was Chef's hat, which was covered in blood.
"Aha! A clue!" Diego said, taking the hat after putting on a glove and starting to sniff it. "It belonged to the victim, Chef Hatchet. Time of death…"
"Don't get out of character. You're a detective, not a coroner" said Raymond, who had just arrived.
"What are you doing here?" Lucas asked.
"I came to notify you of something important ..."
"What happened? Spit it out!" Diego exclaimed intrigued.
"Rita has disappeared."
But before someone else does something, the ceiling of the room quickly cracks, then breaks completely and water floods the room, while Fang lunges towards them to devour them.
The four of them cry out in terror and slam the metal door shut, and the mark of Fang's head on the metal made it evident that he had crashed into it.
Outside the flooded room, Fang snaps his fingers in frustration.
"Just keep calm and follow in my footsteps."
Yoshi was doing an exercise to control his nerves and stay calm. He was sitting on the floor, his legs crossed and his hands clasped. Otis is instructed to do the same and sits similarly.
"I don't understand the purpose of this" Otis commented.
"I can tell that you are still altered by the environment, so it is necessary to remain calm and prevent fear from taking control of you" Yoshi explained.
"I'm not scared," Otis said, although the small trace of insecurity showed. "Fear is for the weak."
"I wouldn't say that" Yoshi replied at last. "Everyone, without exception, is afraid. Many people find it difficult to accept that they are afraid. They deceive themselves by telling a false story to show a courage they do not have. An important step to overcome a fear ... is to accept it."
Otis is silent, listening carefully to what Yoshi explained, while continuing to drink another cup of tea.
"I personally like to see fear as a master, who teaches you to overcome adversity" Yoshi spoke. "Fear is a natural feeling in a person. Human beings have always lived with fear. Many times, fear is an excellent defense mechanism against the unknown."
Now Otis was lost. "You say fear is good for people? How do you have a phobia of something?"
"Phobias consist of displacing the internal fear towards an external object: a spider, an insect, an open or closed space, fear of heights, resulting in a very intense fear of something that actually constitutes a minimal or no threat".
"But you can drown in the ocean" Otis scolded.
"How would someone who knows how to swim drown?"
"Some creature can drag you underwater ..." replied the mechanic in a low voice, but Yoshi managed to listen to him with interest.
"From that comment, I can notice an interesting detail about your fear" Yoshi smiled. "You are not afraid of the ocean, but of what is in the ocean."
Otis just lowered his head, slightly embarrassed, proving that Yoshi was right.
"I can understand your fear of something as big and mysterious as the ocean, and it is a more common fear than you think, but I need to know the root of your fear."
"What do you want to know?" Otis asked with a sigh.
"Why are you afraid of the ocean? Did an accident occur that introduced that fear to you?"
Otis was silent. Yoshi was correctly intuiting the reason for his fear. With a sigh, he began to confess.
"When I was 10, my grandparents and I went on a boat trip on the ocean. I was excited and at one point I was playing on the railing. A jolt from the boat made me trip and fall into the water."
Yoshi pours another cup, listening carefully.
"All good so far. I took advantage of the moment to enjoy the water. I was swimming quietly until an accident happened, and I discovered what had caused the shaking. Suddenly, I felt immense pain in my leg when a shark had bitten me and He tried to drag me to the bottom of the ocean. "
Otis stretches his right leg and picks up his sleeve, revealing a scar shaped like a bite. The place where the shark had bitten him.
"I was crawling further to the bottom of the ocean, and my vision was getting more and more blurry. At a key moment I managed to hit the shark and it released me. I swam quickly to the boat and got on board awkwardly, as my leg was broken, and I hadn't noticed the big red spot that followed me."
Yoshi offers him another cup of tea to calm him down, and he gladly accepts.
"Since that day, I never wanted to go back to the ocean for fear that something like this would happen again. I've even stopped going to the beach because of it. I know it's a bit of a coward, but I'm just terrified of what I might find in the ocean." .
"That was an interesting story, and I can understand your point at the end" Yoshi admitted. "However, that raises a question for me: If you don't like the ocean, why did you sign up for this show, knowing that the game would be on an island surrounded by the ocean?"
"That is already a very personal matter," Otis said, crossing his arms.
"I understand, you won't tell me" Yoshi agreed. "At least now that we know your fear better, I can help you try to overcome it."
"How do you know I can do it?" Otis asked. "I can try, but I can't assure you that I will stop being afraid of the ocean, even a little bit."
"I'm not asking you to just stop being afraid of the ocean, but to be willing to face it again. Fear is something you live with," Yoshi explained. "There are various tips that help you overcome a fear, but apparently you have already inadvertently followed them."
"What do you mean?" asked a confused Otis.
"The first step in overcoming a fear is admitting that you are afraid," he explained. "As I had already explained to you, there are people who find it difficult to accept that they are afraid and prefer to run away than face them."
Otis lets out a little laugh. "I never run away from anything."
"It shows. I don't know many who jump out front and punch a giant sea monster, or can smash giant critters with their bare hands."
Otis smiles and rubs his knuckles, remembering that blow he gave the sea monster, and the fight on the planet of the beetles.
"You are much stronger than anyone I know, Otis. You were in the middle of the ocean, and yet you had the courage to face the monster. After all, being brave is not one who faces danger without fear, but the one who faces it despite being afraid."
Confessional
Otis - "Hm, I've never thought of it that way."
"There are many exercises to control your emotions, like yoga or going to your happy place, but the only way to overcome the fear of doing something is to do it. Do what scares you. It is the only way you have to definitively free yourself from him. If you want, I can help you with that any day. "
Otis nods and finishes drinking his eighth cup of tea and stands up, much more confident.
"Thanks for that talk, Yoshi" Otis smiled, helping him up. "I really needed it".
"It was a pleasure helping," Yoshi replied, picking up his tea set. "If you want more tea, you can gladly ask me."
Confessional
Otis - "It was very kind of Yoshi to give me support to overcome my fear. I certainly owe him one."
Yoshi - "It is good to know that Otis is willing to try to improve himself. And in a way, I am glad to know that my advice could help. My training helps me to be a true master in the future, and this was good practice."
"Well, we've wasted a lot of time already," Otis commented, coming back to reality. "We must continue with the challenge. Do you know what we have to do?"
"I don't know either. Surely the others are already working on it" Yoshi replied, trying to open the door, but it was stuck. He tries to knock it open, but it was of no use.
Otis tries to open the door with much stronger knocks, but it does not budge, leaving them trapped.
In the surveillance room, Karen had watched the entire conversation between the two from the cameras, and she presses a few buttons on the control panel in front of her, closing the doors to lock them in, but stops fiddling with the controls immediately upon listening to someone enter.
"What are you doing?" Felix asked, looking at the cameras too.
"I was on the lookout for possible sabotage, but I think I've found something more interesting," Karen explained, pointing to the video of Otis and Yoshi drinking tea.
"Where did you get that tea set?" asked Felix, peering at the screen.
"I don't know, but I heard that he always takes it with him for any occasion" said Karen, leaving the room.
"Is that the only thing that boy has hidden?" Felix wondered.
Confessional
Felix - "Without a doubt I can get a lot out of that detail."
Karen - "What are you up to, Felix?"
Diego, Ginger, Lucas and Raymond were still looking for clues about the killer. Diego kept sniffing the ground like a hound, with Lucas keeping him close on a leash.
"Where did you say Rita got lost?" Ginger asked Raymond.
"She had finished repairing the electrical room when they had taken her away" replied Raymond.
The four of them had arrived at the surveillance room, and Diego spent his time sniffing the controls, while Lucas and Raymond searched for something on the screens.
Meanwhile, Ginger looks closely at Chef Hatchet's hat, looking for any clues to help her solve the mystery. When she looked inside, she managed to see something small that caught her eye.
"What could this be?" she asked herself, reaching into her hand.
Suddenly, the lights went out again, and they heard a cry of pain, and someone fell to the ground. The lights came back on, revealing Ginger lying on the ground, and that Raymond was missing, as was the hat.
"Ginger! Are you okay?" Lucas asked, helping her up.
"I'm fine, don't worry" she stated, looking around her. "Where is Raymond?"
"I don't know. I think he got away during the blackout," Lucas said.
"Don't you think it was the murderer?" Ginger asked.
"I'm not sure, my friend" Diego replied, blowing his pipe. "I didn't smell anyone else's presence here."
That caught Ginger's curiosity, but then she noticed the hand that had reached inside the hat, and managed to pull out a hair.
"Diego, I think I have the solution to this challenge."
But Diego hadn't listened to her. Her gaze was focused on a small red dot that suddenly appeared outside the room.
"Shine and sparkle, shine and enchant" Diego recited, totally mesmerized by the red dot.
Immediately afterwards, Detective Diego Holmes returns to being the Wild Diego of the jungle, launching himself to run on all fours towards the red dot, which moves along another path, as if he had the intention of taking him away from the group. Diego chases after the red dot, completely forgetting that he had the leash, knocking Lucas to the ground and dragging him with him.
In the distance, it could be heard that the two seemed to have run into someone else, who knocked them to the ground and dragged them away.
"Guys! Don't leave me alone!" Ginger exclaimed, running to where the two of them had gone, but when she arrived, she only found a piece of fabric from a light blue shirt.
The murderer took Diego and Lucas.
"EMERGENCY MEETING!"
Felix had demanded an emergency meeting at the cafeteria where the murder occurred. Karen, Sonya, Ginger and Hunter had appeared there, the only ones still alive, since Otis and Yoshi were still locked up, and the rest had disappeared.
"This better be important, Felix," Hunter growled menacingly. "I was fixing the power lines, and you interrupted me when I was about to finish."
"I have an announcement that I must make," Felix said seriously. "It has nothing to do with this challenge."
"Then why did you call us?" Karen asked interested.
"I've finally discovered the identity of the mole."
Otis and Yoshi were still trapped in the room, trying their best to open the door, but it was too hard.
"It's impossible" Otis gave up. "These doors are specifically designed to be unbreakable."
"We can't give up now" Yoshi said, still trying to open the metal door.
The room is suddenly shaken, when they see through the window that Fang was still trying to enter. The mutant shark seems to have realized that they were locked in that isolated room, totally at its mercy.
Fang hits the window with his tail, and the glass cracks quickly.
"This is not good ..." was the last thing Yoshi said before the glass broke and water flooded the room.
Otis begins to have a panic attack, hyperventilating nonstop as the room fills with water, leaving him and Yoshi at the mercy of Fang.
"Keep calm, Otis!" Yoshi exclaimed, trying to get as much air as he can before it's completely over. "Don't waste your oxygen! Don't let yourself be controlled by fe…!"
Yoshi couldn't finish the sentence when Fang caught him by the leg and dragged him to the bottom, trying to drown him.
Otis goes into the water, finding Yoshi struggling with Fang. In his mind, the memories of the shark attack in the past bothered him, but he shakes his head, pushing those thoughts aside. He tries to follow the Japanese boy's advice and goes to his happy place: the boxing ring.
Otis imagines Fang with if he were one of the many fighters that he had destroyed in the ring. He places his feet on the wall for momentum and swims straight towards Fang, punching him hard on the muzzle.
The force of the blow was so great that Fang shot toward the metal door, denting it just enough to open it. The two boys hurry, as they were already about to drown. Both of them push the metal door, finally managing to open it and entering the submarine back, where they take the opportunity to recover the air.
After a minute of catching their breath, the two boys let out a couple of relieved laughs.
"Well done, Otis" Yoshi told him. "That was a good way to face your fear."
"You didn't need any help, did you?" Otis acknowledged. "You could easily have knocked out the shark with your pressure points."
"Yeah, I could have done it" Yoshi agreed. "But I had to make sure you really heeded my advice."
Otis laughs and nods, helping Yoshi up and they go another way, leaving Fang's unconscious body alone.
"Yoshi is the mole?"
That was the doubt that everyone had of Felix's words. It was hard to believe that it was Yoshi who was conspiring against everyone from the beginning.
"I'm sorry, Felix, but it's hard to believe what you're saying" Sonya said. "Why do you think Yoshi is the mole?"
"I have enough evidence to prove his guilt" replied Felix. "Yoshi is a strong player, with an arsenal of skills that could make his job easier as a mole, like the ability to knock us all off guard."
"What do you mean with that?" Hunter asked.
"We have seen that he is able to knock out Otis without any problem. What does he tell us that he knocked us out to bring us here?"
"Chris already said it was the Chef and the interns" Karen replied.
"Yeah, Chris, the liar scoundrel host who doesn't care about our lives" Felix snorted. "It is likely that this was a lie so that we did not give importance to that detail."
"Let's get this over with!" Hunter growled impatiently. "What other evidence do you have?"
"Do you remember the reason we lost in the sled challenge? It was because one of our boxes was lost on the way," said Felix. "Did it get lost on the way ... or did someone throw it away?"
"And what makes you think it was Yoshi who took the box?" Karen asked.
"He had run away from the group before that monster's attack. He could easily have hidden it with him and buried it in the snow before he was kidnapped."
"How could he keep and hide a box without anyone noticing?" Hunter asked.
"In the same way that he keeps his tea set and carries it anywhere without problem" replied the blonde. "Yoshi can carry objects with him and hide them easily."
"Ok that's a good point" Karen acknowledged. "Any other proof you want to add?"
Confessional
Karen - "Oh, I understand what you mean, Felix. Very clever."
"I don't have any more definitive evidence to add to the evidence, but there are details that could be taken into account," explained Felix. "For example, the sandbag that hit Sonya in the theater challenge. Yoshi did not participate in the play and received the job as a stagehand, so he may have taken the time to loosen the knot and hurt Sonya on purpose. with the intention of making us lose."
Sonya and Hunter's eyes widen in surprise. Neither of them had thought of it that way. That time none of the team was eliminated just because Erika decided to leave the competition.
"With all that explained, does anyone have an objection?" asked Felix.
Nobody said anything. Apparently, Felix's words were more than enough to convince everyone.
"Well then we all agree that…" Felix was cut off when the light went out again. They all desperately searched for the switch, when the light returned.
Ginger had disappeared.
But before anyone says anything, another door opens, and Yoshi and Otis entered the place, being greeted by frowns.
"Why are you guys looking at us like that?" Yoshi asked.
"Because we've caught you red-handed… mole!" Karen said.
"What are you talking about?"
"Where have you been all this time, Yoshi?" Sonya said with a frown.
"Otis and I were locked in a room all day."
"And are we supposed to believe that you guys couldn't open a miserable door to escape?" Hunter growled.
"That's the truth" Yoshi stated, beginning to lose patience.
"Leave this facade, you liar!" Felix exclaimed. "We have finally discovered the truth! Once we lose, you are out!"
Yoshi was speechless. His teammates were now pointing at him accusingly for no reason.
Suddenly, the air vent opens, revealing Ginger, who was gasping for breath.
"I have discovered the truth! I know who the murderer is!" exclaimed the girl.
"Hadn't they captured you?" Hunter asked.
"Yes, they did, but I managed to escape!" Ginger replied proudly. "When the lights went out, the killer had put a blindfold on me and tried to take me to another room, but I managed to get away from my attacker!"
"Seriously?" Otis was amazed. "That's lucky."
"Tell us already!" asked Felix. "Who is the impostor?"
"Okay, I'll tell you…" Ginger takes a deep breath and holds up an accusing finger. "The impostor ... IT'S YOU!"
"The impostor ... IT'S YOU!" Ginger yelled, and threw her hand forward, pointing to one of the six contestants there. The other five turned ...
"Sonya!"
"What are you talking about?" Sonya denied with a frown. "I'm not the murderer."
"What proof do you have?" Hunter asked.
Ginger pulls out the hair she found earlier. "This hair was in Chef Hatchet's hat. The boys and I had found it, and I wanted Diego to smell it and discover its origin, but they wandered away and were captured before helping me" she approaches her eyes towards the hair. "However, I realized that I did not need their help, because when I looked at it closely, I noticed that the hair has a peculiar pink color."
Sonya gulps. That was already more than enough evidence to frame her.
"But there's no way Sonya could have done all of this on her own," Otis testified. "I don't see her capable of capturing Diego, Rita and Raymond without help."
"That's because she got help," Ginger explained.
"You mean there is more than one impostor?" Karen asked.
"There were three in all" Ginger smiled. "Sonya got help from two other contestants."
"What a nonsense! I haven't done anything" said Karen.
"Yoshi and I were locked in that room all day!" Otis added.
"Tell me who the accomplices were!" Felix ordered.
"Ok ... her accomplices were ... Hunter and Raymond!"
"Me?" Hunter growled. "What evidence do you have to blame me?"
Ginger takes out the piece of light blue cloth she had found in the hall. "You and Yoshi are the only ones with blue shirts, and Yoshi was locked up the whole time."
Ginger looks at Hunter's shirt, noticing that there was a torn part, a product of trying to subdue Diego.
"Also, you mentioned that you were repairing the electrical room, but Raymond had told me earlier that Rita was kidnapped there right after she repaired it herself."
Hunter wanted to testify, but didn't know what to say. Ginger had found out.
"And why Raymond?" asked Felix. "I thought he was captured too."
"That was just a trick to be able to escape and work in the shadows" Ginger replied. "When he disappeared before, Diego said that he did not feel any presence, so he took advantage of the blackout to try to take the evidence from me, but I had recovered it in time, that is, Sonya's hair piece."
"In the end, he was the one who tried to capture me to prevent me from revealing the truth, but I managed to get away and that's when I was able to confirm my suspicions."
Suddenly there was clapping and a door opening, revealing Chris and Chef.
"Congratulations, Ginger! You have solved the mystery!" Chris said.
"So, the impostors were Sonya, Hunter and Raymond?" Yoshi asked.
"Exactly! I explained to them about the challenge earlier, and they were the ones who brought everyone here, then pretended to be asleep" Chris explained.
"And what happened to the others?" asked Felix.
Behind the hosts appeared Diego and Lucas, who were tied together with the leash, and Rita, who was tied up with duct tape. The scientist's expression showed that she was furious.
Confessional
Hunter - "Yeah, that was me. A fun way to give that girl her due for challenging me."
Raymond - "Chris offered us an opportunity to earn immunity for Sonya, Hunter and I if we could capture everyone without getting caught, and both teams would go to elimination together."
The same way that Ginger came through the vents, Raymond appears, who had a red nose for some reason.
"What the hell, Raymond? How did she get away from you?" Hunter asked angrily.
"She bit my nose!" Raymond exclaimed, rubbing his nose in pain.
"And with the mystery solved, the Rabid Rabbits take another win on the list!" Chris announced.
All members of the Rabbits go to hug Ginger, while the Falcons groan in frustration at another defeat.
Confessional
Otis - "This challenge was very unfair. We had everything to lose. At this rate, none of us will be able to achieve the merge."
Rita - "I must admit that I was worried about this elimination ceremony. It is obvious that Otis and Diego are going to ally and vote for me. I needed a miracle to survive tonight."
Diego - "I have finally discovered the truth. I must do something about it."
Felix returns to his cabin to rest, but upon entering, he finds himself face to face with Yoshi, who was frowning and standing idly by.
"What have you done, Felix?" Yoshi said angrily. "Thanks to you, everyone hates me for believing that I am the mole."
"I know. Isn't it fun?" Felix smiled mischievously.
"What were you thinking when you framed me? You can't be sure I'm the mole."
"There can only be two outcomes here: If you turn out to be the real mole, then we're getting rid of one of the biggest scums this game has ever known. If you don't turn out to be the mole, I'll be getting rid of a potential threat to my plans."
Felix sees that Yoshi was still glaring at him, and lets out a sigh before continuing.
"Listen, I'm aware that everyone on this island hates me for some reason, and I was everyone's target to be eliminated. I had to get rid of that hatred. Get them to target someone else… That's where you come in. I just I pushed that hatred towards someone else, someone who could be dangerous if he continues in the game any longer. "
"I must thank you, Yoshi, because now that everyone is targeting you, I am safe. The next time we lose, you will be the next to fly off that slingshot."
Yoshi lets out a frustrated sigh, and proceeds to leave the cabin, but stops at the door and recites in Japanese:
"Anata wa sore by nigeru koto wa arimasen"
Felix smiles wickedly. As part of his studies, he has to learn several languages, and that includes Japanese, so he knows the meaning of Yoshi's sentence.
"You won't get away with it."
Night had fallen, and the remaining three members of the Raptor Falcons had shown up at the elimination ceremony.
"I'm not surprised to see you here again, Falcons, with the pathetic performance you had in this challenge."
Rita was frowning, Otis lets out an embarrassed sigh, and Diego kept a pitying expression.
"However, since a vote between the three of you would give a predictable result, I have decided to do one thing ..."
"Are you going to randomly pick the next one out?" Rita asked.
"No. This time, the members of the other team will vote for you!" the host explained. "Who will they pick? Tough guy Otis? Brainiac Rita? Or psychotic Diego?"
The other eight contestants made an appearance at the campfire, after having deposited their votes in the confessional.
Confessional
Hunter - "A fairly strong and skilled mechanic, an expert survival caveman, or a mad scientist with apocalyptic gadgets… This is a difficult decision."
Raymond - "I really like the three of them, but thinking in a more strategic way, then I will vote for Otis. He is a strong player and may pose some kind of risk once the contest progresses ... And I doubt that Rita or Diego will arrive very away later. "
Yoshi - "Otis and Diego are skilled players and have earned my respect. Rita, on the other hand, has surprised me in another way. It is more appropriate for her to leave."
Karen - "Without a doubt, Otis is the most challenging of the three to defeat. He is stronger and more skilled than the caveman and the scientist. Besides, he is too close to discovering the truth."
Felix - "I would vote for Yoshi if I could, but since it is not the case I will vote for Otis. He is too strong."
"The votes have already been counted. I have two marshmallows, but here are three contestants" said Chris. "So, whoever doesn't get a marshmallow will take a torturous one-way trip down the slingshot and quit the contest F-O-R-E-V-E-R."
"We already know the speech backwards and forwards," Otis said. "Just tell us who is leaving."
"Fine. The first marshmallow goes to…"

Rita lets out a big sigh of relief and goes to pick up her marshmallow.
Otis and Diego look at each other in surprise and concern. One of them two is leaving tonight.
"Otis. Diego. One of you two will leave today Total Drama: Enchanted ... The last marshmallow goes to…"

"Stop!"
Diego had gotten up and had the marshmallow. Everyone had been stunned.
"Diego, you didn't let me finish, the marshmallow doesn't have to be for you" said Chris.
"Of course not" replied the boy. He returns to Otis, and hands him the marshmallow. "I quit".
"What?" they all exclaimed.
"Otis deserves to win more than me, I don't care about the results" explained the animal boy, shrugging. "Also, this game is too easy for me."
"Diego! I can't let you do that! It's not fair to you!" Otis said.
"I'm sorry, my friend. I've already made my decision," Diego told him.
"Diego, you have been eliminated from Total Drama: Enchanted. Time to go."
Diego was already seated in the Sling of Shame. Everyone else, including Rita, had already gone to their cabins to rest. Otis was the only one who had stayed to say goodbye to his friend.
"Any last words before you go, Diego?" Chris asked.
"Yes, Detective Diego Holmes left me a message for my friend Otis."
Otis approaches Diego to hear the message, and he whispers in his ear:
Beware of Karen
Otis wanted to say something, but he was too shocked by what he had heard. Before he could react, the boy gave him a knowing wink and was shot through the air, away from the island, and out of the contest.
As Otis, still in shock, returned to his cabin, Chris turned to the camera.
"And thus concludes an episode full of drama. The Falcons are only two people, against the eight members of the Rabbits. Yoshi has been indicted as the mole, and Otis has received an information bomb. Does Yoshi have a chance to save himself, or will he be doomed? What will Otis do now that he knows the truth? What will Karen do when she finds out about the situation? Find out next time on… "
"Total! Drama! Enchanted!"
CONTESTANTS
Raptor Falcons: Rita, Otis.
Rabid Rabbits: Felix, Ginger, Hunter, Karen, Lucas, Raymond, Sonya, Yoshi.
Eliminated: Bianca (Raptor Falcons), Isaac (Raptor Falcons), Erika (Raptor Falcons), Chantal (Rabid Rabbits), Tony (Raptor Falcons), Clover (Raptor Falcons), Agatha (Raptor Falcons), Julien (Raptor Falcons), Pearl (Raptor Falcons), Nigel (Rabid Rabbits), Maggie (Rabid Rabbits), Diego (Raptor Falcons)
Today we say goodbye to the wildest contestant (not counting Izzy). Diego has played a strong game, but with one team so overshadowed by the other, sooner or later his turn would come, so it's best to make his mark before leaving.
Many important things have happened, but the two most important are mentioned last.
Thanks to the scoundrel Felix, everyone now thinks that Yoshi is the mole of the season. Felix himself explained his reasons for making that move, which was very effective, because now he is free to continue bothering others.
The other thing was that Otis finally knows the truth about the cheater Karen. However, he is the only one who knows the truth and no one else. Hopefully he doesn't end up like Noah on World Tour.
About the challenge, it was totally based on the video game that is in fashion today. If you don't know what it is, then I'm going to assume you've been living under a rock like a pink starfish all this time.
The scene with the tape recorder and Chris's corpse is another reference. Do you know which one?
A fun fact about this chapter was that it was originally going to be titled Fangs, as a reference to Jaws because of Fang's presence, but the little involvement of the mutant shark made me change my mind and replace it with the current title.
Yoshi's phrase in Japanese (here I confirm that Yoshi is Japanese) is not actually the exact translation. It actually means "You won't run away with it". That's the closest thing Yoshi tried to say to Felix in the end.
The issue of Otis's fear of the ocean is brought up again, and the reason why he came to an island, knowing that he would be surrounded by water. Here I warn you that all the remaining contestants have a reason for coming to this show, very different from each other. Which are? We will have to wait to learn the truth. Until then, live with the suspense.
Well, I think there is nothing more to clarify. We will see you next time, in the next chapter. Goodbye.
