That concludes the Level Upper arc. Never thought I'd get this far.

Let's get started then.

Emilia returned home, and everything started to settle down, just as she wanted.

She had more time to visit her friend, for one. Since the whole level upper thing was concluded, she had a lot more time on her hands.

But of course, by some magic, X was aware of that too. He's been giving missions more often now. It's not that Emilia can blame him, she was feeling just a little bored, but Emilia could ask him to stop calling her at three o clock. Both AM and PM.

Emilia was relaxing in a certain ramen shop near Azusa's hospital until she got a text message. Upon getting her favorite food, she took a mouthful with a pair of chopsticks and read the message.

"Hey Emilia, my other friends Maaya and Kinuho are in need of swimsuit models after a company that is sponsoring our swimming team requested models for their products, and the swimming team simply has too few available people. Could you help us out?

-Misaka Mikoto"

Emilia checked her watch. "What time?" She responded.

"3"

Emilia sighed and sent another message. "I can't come at 3. Sorry." She checked the time and off her phone. It was 2:30. She decided to finish the ramen and go to the hideout.

Emilia arrived in the nick of time in the surprisingly clean hideout. She immediately took her outfit to get the mission over with. She was a little glad that she didn't need to wear a swimsuit, but she still wanted to spend more time with friends. Though some are embarrassing, she really treasured events spent with friends. So Emilia wanted to complete the mission quickly and catch onto the fun she was missing out on.

After she finished putting on her black cap and mask, X finally started to speak.

"Hey Emilia, do you ever get tired of being the 8th ranked Esper?"

Emilia stayed silent.

X put his hands out like he was in a speech. "8th ranked. That's last place y'know?"

After taking a sip of tea from the cup on the desk, he approached the girl in the cape closer. "So, we have a change of plans. It will benefit the both of us y'know?"

Not like I have a choice. "What would I need to do?"

X smiled. "I already have some researchers working on it. Though they don't fully understand your power, they want you to use it in action."

"But I…"

"No, not that kind of action. Against other level 5s of course."

Emilia paled. She couldn't be surprised, but she definitely didn't want to fight the Railgun. "W-who will I be fighting?" She said nervously. Not Misaka, it can be anyone, even Accelerator. Just please don't be Misaka.

"I can tell you don't want to fight the Railgun, and I can respect that. Let's start with the Esper ranked above you. Sogiita Gunha. I am aware that he is only 7th ranked because scientists don't understand his ability, but he seems to be the easiest to access, given his hero-like activities."

"So what would I have to do?"

"Take the hint Emilia. Who does a hero usually fight?"

"Oh." Emilia said dryly. It shouldn't really be a problem, she did worse things in her other missions. The only difference is that the public would be aware of what she is doing.

"Are you sure it's okay for Zero to be known?"

"Zero is going to be known sooner or later." X handed Emilia a handgun. "You just learned how to use one, take it."

Emilia reluctantly took the gun and walked out the hideout.

Emilia walked into the busy street, getting some odd looks along the way. How can I get Gunha's attention?

She continued to think as she walked to a particularly busy area and suddenly stopped by a bank. Is this the only way? I don't want to get involved in other problems, and it's far more likely that I'm going to have to fight Anti-Skill instead of him.

Emilia resumed her walking, ignoring the bank. Wait, what do I even do when I find him? Emilia continued to wonder as she walked around the street. I'll just knock him unconscious. If I can beat him.

She stopped and looked up in the sky. I shouldn't mindlessly commit crimes. I have to make sure he is witnessing it. So in that case, I'll have to look for him first!

Emilia leaped into the sky and landed on top of a building. She got a few sudden gasps from other people when she accelerated herself upwards. She looked down to see a crowd of people immediately swarming near the building to see the mysterious figure closer.

She walked away and continued to jump around each building.

After a few hours, Emilia decided to take a break and sat down on the edge of the building, her legs hanging in the air. She took a deep breath and leaned backwards. It was getting dark and the streets were empty.

Maybe I should just go home for now, There really is nothing to rush about. Emilia jumped off the building. She was about to stop the kinetic force of her hitting the ground, but instead, she was met by a spiky hair boy right on her landing spot.

What is he doing? If he doesn't move, I'm going to land on him! Emilia tried to find a way to change her direction of fall, but it was no use. She could only control the amount of kinetic energy put into something. Wait, is that Kamijou?

CRASH!

Eventually, she landed on top of the Touma and got up immediately. She broke her fall and her impact with Touma, but Touma ended up falling backwards, hitting his head on the hard pavement.

Emilia and Touma got up as the boy rubbed his forehead. "Hey! You can't just commit suicide like that! You have so much to live for!"

Emilia sighed. Even if I didn't have this power, I still would have survived with the advanced medical system here.

"Such misfortune… What's with that outfit? Are you a magician that needs my help or something?"

Emilia tilted her head in confusion.

Suddenly, the two heard Mikoto's voice. They both looked around to hear where it was coming from, and it was from a large television screen, revealing a brunette wearing a childish pink swimsuit. The Railgun seemed to enjoy herself in what appears to be a tropical breach, laughing and smiling.

"Such misfortune… so, you aren't a magician? Then what's with the clothes?"

What is he talking about? What does he mean about magicians? Magic doesn't exist. Emilia started to leave without saying anything. She thought that Touma would just leave her be, but no.

"Hey! Answer my question! He ran forward and grabbed Emilia's wrist with his right hand. A sudden strange noise rang out and Emilia felt a lot warmer. They both stayed silent for what felt like an eternity, trying to comprehend what just happened. That is, until Touma finally came to his own conclusion.

"I negated something… you are a magician!"

Emilia remembered Touma's strange ability to negate other abilities, so she concluded that he ended up negating her personal "air conditioner". However, she had no clue what he meant by magicians. It didn't look like he was spewing nonsense either.

The girl opened her mouth to speak, but shut it again. She didn't know what to do in this situation.

"I'll unmask you!" Touma yelled, reaching his left hand to Emilia's face.

Out of sheer instinct, Emilia grabbed Touma's left hand with her right hand, grabbed his right hand with her left hand that was already being grabbed and threw Touma over her head, resulting in him hitting the pavement hard again.

Emilia panicked, not knowing what to do. She turned around to run away. From the boy who almost fainted from the ground.

"SUCH MISFORTUNE!" She heard the boy scream as she ran away.

Emilia stopped and ran into the alleyway. She took off her mask and wiped her sweat from her own hair using her black cape. Geez, I never felt this hot in my life. How do people even survive a day in this heat?

Emilia leaped and ran as fast as she could all the way back to her dorm. She jumped into the window and snuck back to her room.

A few days later, Emilia was hagning out in her room again. "I did nothing of use today." Emilia deadpanned to herself, getting changed in the process. It was already getting late, and Emilia spent all that time jumping around doing nothing.

But then, summer vacation rolled around, and Emilia has never accomplished her goal… yet.

Finding a single person was harder than it looks, even if that person was one of the 8 level 5 espers in Academy City.

So, Emilia tried a different approach. She tried to do some research about him. It helped a little, she knew which districts he usually does his hero-work, but she doesn't know his exact schedule.

In the end, I'm still going to have to commit a crime to get his attention huh?

Emilia sighed and made up her mind. I'll just threaten a bank, not hurt anyone, and hope for the best. She looked at the newly branded pistol her superior gave her.

She wore her outfit, and for the 7th time, she left her dorm to finally put the mission to a wrap. She jumped from building to building, and finally she made it to the target.

She thoroughly planned her operation. She carefully decided which bank she was going to rob, but calculating the highest likelihood of the 7th ranked to stop her, and the lowest likelihood of Anti-Skill coming to foil her plans instead. She studied Gunha's power, not that she had much to work with, and his power still remained a mystery to her. As a result, Emilia picked a busy place that was on a traffic jam. It fits Emilia's style of fighting.

So she jumped off the bank, entered, and immediately pointed her pistol to the receptionist.

It all happened too fast for everyone in the bank. Someone with strange clothes appeared in the entrance, and the next thing they knew, he turned the whole thing into a robbery.

Emilia was surprised with how tamed everyone was being. She expected one or two people to try and stop her, but no. Of course, she should have known that no one would risk their lives over some money in the bank, she only watched too many movies.

The simple action of pointing the gun to the lady in the counter made the entire staff start piling cash onto the counter, all the customers on their knees, and all the chattering ceased to be.

She froze the door handle, effectively locking-in the door and waited for a bit while the cash was still piling up on the counter. She was still holding up the pistol in the air so everyone could see it, but then hid it back into her pocket because her arm was aching, and for strategic purposes.

Once the money finished piling up on the counter, she walked over to look at it. She picked up a stack and stared at it. This is real money. She then looks over the pile. I know this is a bank and all, but how much money does it even have? I thought people started using money cards.

She looked back up to see the people trembling in fear. Oh, I guess my outfit makes me more intimidating.

She didn't take the money, but instead, she waited for her target. This put most of the people in confusion and fear. A normal robber would simply take the money and run away.

Emilia only waited about 15 minutes or so, until she finally felt a group of people gather around the bank. Emilia sighed. Anti-Skill huh? I shouldn't be too surprised. I'll just deal with them and leave. She will admit, she was pretty frustrated that her plan didn't turn out her way, but she was going to have to escape the bank without killing anyone as of right now.

Emilia drew her dagger onto her left hand and gazed at the few cars parked at the narrow street. There were tons of unmanned vehicles just laying out in the street with some drivers still in the process of evacuating with the help of Judgement.

Wait, is that Jason?

Emilia squinted behind her mask to find a familiar blond boy helping other adults evacuate, with his judgement band on.

"We are Anti-Skill! We ask that you come quietly as we have you completely surrounded!" Someone said with a megaphone.

Emilia sighed and looked back at the people still at their knees. She could announce that she was going to kill one of the hostages, but she didn't want to kill anyone, even threaten their life for that matter.

So she melted the ice in the door handle, and walked out the front entrance. She spun the dagger around her fingers and knuckles menacingly. She stopped when she was about 3 steps from the glass door, surrounded with a semi-circle of officers.

Why so many people? Oh, it's probably because I had hostages. Emilia braced for someone to shoot her, but was met with no bullets whatsoever. Why aren't they shooting me? Oh right, they're Anti-Skill. I'll wait for them to strike first.

"All right, off to a good start. Drop the weapon." One of the officers said forcefully as they approached Emilia slowly. Besides Emilia's left hand, her entire body remained motionless as one of the officers approached her, the rifle still pointed at her.

Emilia continued to twirl the dagger around without getting a single cut. The officer suddenly raised the gun and attempted to physically hit Emilia with the butt of the gun to knock her unconscious. However, Emilia already expected this, as she tossed the dagger up in the air, swung her head backwards to dodge to swing. She then gave the man the left hook, making him stumble backwards. Before anyone could react, Emilia spun from the momentum of the punch and used it to do a side kick with her left leg, continuing the combo. She finally finished it off with a drop kick with both legs in the back of the man's head. After landing on her bum, she immediately made a wall shaped iceberg to shield the barrage of bullets coming her way. She finally caught the dagger she threw up in the air earlier.

She sensed a presence above her. She turns around and looks upwards to see an armored person pointing a gun towards her. As soon as the man fired, Emilia caught the bullet with her gloved hands. She managed to calculate the properties of the bullet and then was able to get rid of the kinetic force put into the bullet, making it harmless. She tossed the shiny bullet aside, as the man froze in shock.

Finally, she felt an unusual amount of heat coming from the air on her right. She reached out towards the empty space, and she managed to grab something.

She found herself grabbing Jason's neck collar, his thin arms failing and struggling to be free. Upon realizing that it was Jason, she dropped him on the ground.

Jason was on his bum, sitting up on the ground. He was frozen in fear, Emilia was at his mercy. Emilia looked at Jason and looked back at the officers. Everyone knew what was going on.

Jason didn't move a muscle. The masked figure knew exactly where he was when he was invisible, and he wasn't someone to be reckoned with. The officers froze as well. One wrong move and they might lose a Judgement Member.

The eerie, abnormal silence in this street was bone chilling. No one moved for a few seconds. A few seconds slowly became several seconds, which became a minute, then a few minutes, and finally several minutes.

On the other hand, Emilia stood there patiently and strategically. She knew Anti-Skill would be criticized harshly if they attacked, even if they succeeded. But it's not like she can go anywhere either. She decided to wait about 10 minutes. The perfect time. Long enough to throw the members off guard, and short enough so no more reinforcements arrive.

Emilia took deep breaths. Okay, that's ten minutes, I should leave now.

But the next thing she knew, Jason was gone. Shit! Did he use his ability? No, His heat signature just vanished! She looked around in a minor panic. Until she saw Jason on the road and spiky haired boy in front of him, arms crossed.'

"You got some serious guts to threaten a bank and not steal anything. Let's have a fight, yeah?" Sogiita said, grinning.
