Chapter 15: Nuclear Pokemon

Ash, Serena and Aurora arrived at the Nuclear Powerplant, and the ship captain says, "This ship'll take ya to the Nuclear Power Plant construction site...Hey, wait a sec. Are you guys perhaps Ash, Serena and Aurora?"

"We are." Ash says, and the ship owner is surprised, "I got orders to take ya to the Power Plant. But yer just kids. What's the chief thinkin'?"

Before they can even retort, they hear a voice, "Hey, wait a sec!" And much to their surprise, Theo is also there. Ash says, "Theo? What are you doing here?"

"Ash, are you guys going to the Power Plant? I wanna come too!" Theo says.

"Aw, geez, now there are FOUR kids? I gotta radio the boss about this..." The ship captain mutters. Then he takes out the phone and says, "Hello? I got a situation out here on Route 7. These four kids're askin' to go to the power plant. Three of 'em look like the kids that the Rangers told us about. The other one's got crazy red hair. Kinda looks like Boss's hair, actually..."

"Wait, Theo, does that mean your dad was the captain's boss?" Ash asks and he just shrugs.

"Wait are you serious about that?" The captain asks in shock, and then he ends the call and turns to the four. "The boss says I should bring you four over. Dunno what he's thinkin', but I got an order, so hop on, you four."

The four are excited as they enter the ship, and Theo is excited to see his father. But when the ship is going, the familiar Magikarp submarine is following the group and Jessie says, "They are going to the power plant, that means there are the Nuclear Pokemon that the boss wants."

"We will nab them as well as the twerp's Pikachu, and then we will get our pay raise." Meowth says and Wobbuffet just pops out again.

Once they arrived at the Nuclear Power Plant Epsilon, they are in awe at the sight and Theo says, "Woah, is this where Dad works?"

The captain sighs, "This ain't no place for children...I dunno what the boss is thinkin'."

"Ash, Serena, Aurora, Theo." Cameron comes to greet them and Theo gives him a hug, Cameron says, "Good, you four have arrived. Follow me, please."

As they follow the man, Theo decides to say, "Dad! Check it out! Me and Ash are bona fide Trainers now! I got two badges an' everything!"

"I can see that. I am very proud of you, Theo. It seems like I made the right choice to let you travel on your own." Cameron says as he ruffles his hair. Theo says, "Well, you ain't seen nothing yet! Just you wait! I'm gonna become the best Trainer ever!"

"Hahaha. I am sure you will!...Now, Ash. Adam tells me you have something for me?" Cameron turns to Ash, and he takes out the letter and gives it to Cameron. Cameron looks into the letter and says, "I see...I am not sure what his reasoning is, but I have to respect the Chief's wishes. Ash, Serena and Aurora, Adam wants you to see the ruined Power Plant. As you know, there was an accident that occurred here ten weeks ago. The one where you lost your mother, Delia...I must admit, Adam has been fixated on it ever since. It's understandable. That even changed his life, as well as mine. I was there on that day, after all...I'd been called in to do some repairs. Everything was working perfectly when there was a sudden, unexpected malfunction...I tried to save as many workers as possible. The last time I saw Delia, she was headed deeper inside. I called out to her, but she disappeared. They never found her..."

Noticing the pained faces Ash and Aurora are giving, Cameron says, "I know this must be hard for you to hear. Perhaps seeing the plant will provide you with some much-needed closure. But, it's very dangerous. Although the radiation has cleared, there's something strange about the Pokemon here..."

Theo says, "You get to explore an abandoned Power Plant, guys? That sounds cool! I wanna come, too!"

Cameron turns to Theo with a strict face, "No, Theo. You are going back to the mainland."

"But daaaaad! They get to do it, so why can't I?" Theo whines, and Cameron says, "As your father, I cannot allow you to go. It's far too dangerous. Adam's wish is for Ash, Serena and Aurora to go. I can't disobey orders from the Chief of the Rangers. Besides, they have unfinished business there."

"I'm a Trainer! I can handle wild Pokemon just fine!" Theo begs again, but Cameron strictly says, "Not these ones...These are different. I won't have you anywhere near them."

Theo starts to cry again and he mutters, "No fair."

"Life isn't always fair, Theo. Now I'll inform the boat captain to take you back to the mainland. As for you three, you have my permission to look about the island. The ruined Plant is to the south. You ought to be cautious, though. If you need to heal, there is a machine in the Rest House. Some of the workers here are also Pokemon trainers. They might want to battle you. And above all, mind the wild Pokemon. They're...different. You'll see. I hope you can find what you came here for."

Then Theo is being taken away to the ship as they are now looking at each other. "So should we go check it out?" Serena asks.

"Let's go. I think." Ash says as they head south into the grass, but the Team Rocket hears everything and Jessie says, "So the twerps are here to search for his mother...now I feel bad for him..."

"Yeah, to think that the twerp's mother is associated to the power plant explosion...just thinking about it sending me shivers." Meowth says.

"Wobbuffet!" Wobbuffet says as James says, "But we are here on a mission, and we are villains, we can't show any remorse to them." James says as they nod, then they start to find some Nuclear Pokemon to capture.

Once they enter the grass, they see some Pokemon and Serena says, "Hey, Ash...don't you think they look different?"

"Those must be the Nuclear Pokemon that we need to be careful of." Ash says, and much to their horror, a Tancoon spot them and then it uses a green ray like move, but Pikachu manages to dodge it. "That's Gamma Ray...we have to be careful." Aurora says.

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Ash says as Pikachu fires the attack, much to their surprise is that it faints easily. "What happened?" Ash asks.

"Tancoon was Dark and Normal Type...but after being Dark and Nuclear Type...the Nuclear makes him weaker and all moves become super effective to the Nuclear type..." Aurora says, "But in contrast, the Nuclear moves all become Super Effective to all Pokemon, except for Steel Type because of its hard body."

"I see...But look at the other Pokemon!" Serena says with a scared tone as they take a step back, and then Ash, Serena and Aurora can hear their voices, "Please...help us..." "Pain...it hurts..."

Ash says, "Look at those Pokemon...the Nuclear is hurting them..."

"What are we going to do? They will use Gamma Ray if we aren't careful..." Serena says.

Aurora says, "How about we try to capture some of them? It seems like they can be captured. Once we captured some of them, we'll figure out what are we going to do with them."

"Right." Ash says. But just as they come closer, some Pokemon run away since they are afraid that Ash and the others are going to hurt them. Ash finds a Nuclear Eshouten, who have been so in pain that they try to use Gamma Ray again. Ash says, "I am sorry...but Pikachu, use Thunderbolt on him."

Once Pikachu attacks the two Pokemon, they faint and then Ash takes out two Pokeballs and capture them. Aurora takes out a box and says, "They might have radiation, so we can't hold it in our hands. How about we put them in this box? Dad gave it to me and he says that it is for the Nuclear Pokemon once we capture them. There is also one for you, Serena."

Ash uses Brailip to use the Psychic to put the balls inside the box and then they close the box, putting them inside the bag as they continue forward.

Once they arrived at the power plant, Aurora mutters, "There it is...the old Power Plant..." Just then, Cameron arrives and he asks, "Are you guys okay?"

"We are fine, Pikachu manages to shock the Nuclear Pokemon that tries to attack us." Ash says. "And we also capture some, we managed to put them inside of the box."

"I see. The box is made of concrete and it should be able to protect you guys from radiation." Cameron sighs, "You know, I can't tell you how many times I've searched this place...Trying to find something, anything to explain what happened all those weeks ago. Of course, it's no good. Almost everything was destroyed in the explosion. What wasn't destroyed was mostly burned up by the fire afterwards...The building is crumbling. It's slated for demolition soon. This may be the last chance we have to uncover what really happened...although I doubt there is anything left to find. Are you going inside?"

"We are." Ash and Serena say in union, and Cameron says, "Of course. It's the last place your mother was seen. But it is very dangerous. That's why..." Cameron takes out three trackers and put it on them, he says, "There. I put trackers on you. If something happens, if you get hurt...we will come get you. That's a promise. Now, I suggest you heal up and grab some supplies before going inside. You don't know what you might find in there..."

After Cameron leaves, Ash takes a deep breath and turns to both Serena and Aurora, "So are you ready for this?"

"We are ready." Serena says as they decide to head inside the Power Plant. At the same time, Jessie, James and Meowth are also wearing protection clothes and Jessie says, "It is a good thing that the boss give us these."

"Yeah, and we managed to capture a lot of Nuclear Pokemon for the boss." James says. "Maybe there will be more inside of the power plant."

"Then what are we waiting for, let's go in." Meowth says as they notice a Kinetmunk looking at them. Meowth says, "Though I feel sorry for these Pokemon to become like this..."

James says, "But even though they may weak to everything, they are also strong against everything." James says as he takes out a special Team Rocket Poke Ball and then throws at the Kinetmunk, capturing it in the end. Then they rush inside the Power Plant to find more rare Nuclear Pokemon.

Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, I let both Team Rocket and Ash capture the Nuclear Pokemon. This is going to be a two part chapter, and the next chapter will mainly be the exploration of the power plant. I hope you like this chapter.
