Chapter 14: Fantastic

After we beat Doom, everything were crazy, we are superheroes now, the news were all over the Fantastic Four and also me, they called me "Ghost boy" until we could do a press conference where I confirmed my name as Phantom, there was no way in hell I'll be "Ghost boy" even if Johnny thinks the name is funny, Sue also could correct her name to "Invisible Woman" instead of "Girl" like Johnny said on the X-Games.
Of course we don't only have to deal now with press but also S.H.I.E.L.D. which wasn't so bad, I mean they only want to know if we will be there when they call kinda like a Kim Possible or Ghostbusters type of deal, Nick Fury is an intimidating man so we agreed with him but they also gonna let us operate on our own, apparently superheroes didn't have to deal with more accords after what happened with Thanos, so they let us operate on our own as long as we don't cause troubles.
Fury even provides us with a help for Ben's condition giving a call to the X-Men who helped Professor Storm, Reed, Sue and me to come out with a something that may help and 9 months later we finally came up with something, I know it took long but Ben was fine with the waiting thanks to Alicia being there for him, but today we are gonna give it to him just before the celebration party we have about the new remodeling of the Baxter Tower that is now the Fantastic Four Tower because new year, new start.
"Are you guys sure that this is gonna work?" - asked Ben a little unsure
"Come on old man we didn't work so hard on it for nothing" - complained Ellie with her arms crossed over her chest
"Ellie don't jeopardize your trainee position" - warned Elixir
"If I'm a trainee I will like to be addressed by the name I choose" - said Ellie
"You are kidding right? There is no way we are gonna call you "Negasonic Teenage Warhead" that is like the longest name ever" – said Prodigy
"That's fucking cool, wanna trade names?" - teased Johnny to her
"Johnny stop with the teasing" - I said to him rolling my eyes
"Ok, Josh I think you can start so we can put the rings on him" - said Prodigy
"Is this gonna hurt?" - asked Ben nervously
"Just think happy thoughts, it would be alright" - said Elixir to Ben
Elixir walked towards Ben who was kneeling on the ground, he stand behind him and put his hands on Ben's shoulders making him grunt complaining, but whatever Elixir was doing was working the rocks covering Ben's arms were slowly falling from his arms and we could see his flesh.
"Guys, bring the rings quick, his mutation is a little more complicated than ours and I don't know how much I can hold him like this" - said Josh
Prodigy and Negasonic quickly approached to put the rings on the index fingers on each hand of Ben before backing away with Elixir, in 10 seconds exactly the rocks on his body move around covering his arms and hands again.
"Ok, that wasn't fun, what now?" - asked Ben
"Now bring your first together, click them two times and say "Thing rings, do your thing"" - I instruct him
"Do I really need to say that?" - asked Ben
"No, that was just for fun" - I tease making Ben shakes his head annoyed
"It's gonna be alright Ben, just try it" - said Sue
Then he did as he was told clicking his fists two times and when he did it an energy of the same color as the solar storm envelop him making us all squint our eyes, when the energy stopped and we could fully open our eyes to see Ben standing in there in human form, naked like when he first turned back...and again is not a bad view...but now is pretty awkward and not only for me but for everybody present.
"It worked!" - Said Ben excited
"Ben..." - trailed Reed signaling at the naked body of his best friend
"Fuck, sorry everybody" - said Ben covering himself with his hands
"I think is time you really think about using the space suit Ben" - I said trying to advert my eyes looking around
I guess with this we have one more thing to celebrate tonight apart from the Fantastic Tower and the official foundation of the Fantastic Four with whom I will work with as Phantom as well, but anyway talking about celebrating...

Then the doors of the elevator opened and there was a party at full throttle with drinks, food and music, everybody was in there even our doorman, Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, we invited Elixir who was with a girl wearing kind of burqa, Prodigy alone (sad face emoji) and Negasonic who was with an Asian girl with blue hair as they helped us with Ben who we spotted all smiles with his arm around Alicia as we approached him.
"Seems like you both finally could join us, did you have a good time?" - asked Ben wiggling his eyebrows
"Don't tease them Ben, is perfectly normal for them to be like that, if it was for you we will be staying in our room as well" - said Alicia
"You know me so well" - said Ben kissing the cheek of Alicia who giggled
"You look amazing Alicia" - I compliment her
"Well, thank you" - said Alicia smiling before flicking her hair playfully
"I'm the luckiest guy here" - said Ben clicking his glass metal mug with Alicia's glass one making it shatter - "fuck...sorry babe, I always forget that I still have the super strength as side effect even with the rings" - said Ben
"It's okay, we just need to keep working on your touch" - said Alicia smiling
"I like the sound of that" - said Ben pulling her close to him while she laughed
"Well, I'm lucky guy too" - said Johnny with his arm around me
"Don't start a pissing contest you both" - I say rolling my eyes looking around until my eyes landed on Reed talking outside with Sue - "oh my god, guys he is doing it" - I said excited pointing at Reed and Sue's direction.
"What is he doing?" - asked Alicia
"Well she is complaining and...wait...he is showing her the ring" - narrated Ben to her - "she is seeing us watching" - he continued while the three of us did a combination of waving and thumbs up - "he is on his knees...she disappeared" - he said frowning
Then we see Reed moving like he was going to kiss Sue but I guess he missed because he laughed awkwardly before Sue reappeared and grabbed his face pulling him for a kiss and we all in the party applaud with us moving through the crowd to join both of them getting closer.
"The only thing missing in this is fireworks" - I tease
"You got them" - said Johnny kissing me before moving away
Johnny was smiling mischievously going to the balcony before flaming on and taking off into the air while Jagger barked at him jumping as if he could catch him, Johnny blaze the number 4 enclosed in a circle of flame and also he did a little ghost that looked like one of the Pac-Man ghosts next to it over the city skyline making me shake my head at the reference to me.
"Showoff" - yelled Ben shaking his head while Alicia laughed
After that and a couple of more drinks the rest of the party was a little bit of a blur to me I must say, sorry to not have any juicy details if Johnny and I repeat another quickie since I kinda blackout, but I guess we did, hardly for us not to, mostly if we are blackout drunk, anyway I do remember what happened 2 weeks later...
"I want to lay my head in your lap while we watch TV, can't you just put Jagger down?" - whined Johnny at me
"Sorry, but even I love you, Jagger wins over you any day" - I tease smirking at him while scratched Jagget's head who barked at him
"Very funny" - said Johnny rolling his eyes crossing his arms over his chest
"Guys!" - Called out Professor Storm making us turn around like Reed and Sue who were in the lab and Ben who was hitting a punching bag while Alicia was sitting close by listening to an audiobook putting pause to it to listen as well - "you have visitor" - he said signaling at Nick Fury
"Fantastic Four, Phantom" - said Nick Fury addressing everybody in the room - "you remember agent Maria Hill" - he added signaling to the woman next to him who nod at us
"Mr. Fury" - greeted Reed - "what brings you around here?" - He asked
"We are sorry to barge around here in what it seems a lazy day for all of you, but we need your help with something" - said Fury
"What? The life on earth depends on it?" - asked Johnny in a teasing manner
"The earth and maybe the universe" - said Hill
"No pressure, right?" - I say arching an eyebrow
"You all must come with us" - said Hill
"We will be down in a car waiting for the 5 of you, get ready" - said Fury turning around and going to the elevator with Hill walking on his side
"Are we really going on whatever this is?" - asked Ben
"If he came to reach for us in person it could be something big" - answered Sue
"Yeah, let's suit up guys and be prepare for anything" - said Reed
"Oh man...I had a date planned for us tonight" - complained Johnny
"Don't worry, we can go once we finish whatever this is" - I said kissing his cheek
"I will hold you on to that one" - said Johnny grabbing my hand to walk us to our room to change, I'm curious about what this mission is gonna be

A/N: So I did a little reference to an old hated The Thing cartoon, but it worked to find a way to make Ben human again, I mean if they could do it with Beast in X-Men movies with the injection thing, I could do something as well so I can keep Drake on the cast as faceclaim, I know it takes away a little of how his relationship with Alicia shows that appearances are not important, but whatver it's my own spin on this thing, get it? "this thing"? Okay, I'll stop.
But anyway, this is kinda the epilogue guys, but don't worry, for those of you that still are craving for a new chapter even this is "the end" I have another post coming TOMORROW! So I can finish this fic and the Spider-Man one before Christmas and New Years weeks, so we are basically having a ending weekend lol
