Chapter 13

Anakin was noticeably cold-hearted and gruff as they approached the planet. He had distanced himself from each of them, much to Leia's annoyance, Winter's confusion, and Cody's sadness and remorse.

"What's wrong with him?" Winter asked though Leia had a feeling that she had known the reason why.

Cody placed his gloved hands on Leia and Winter's backs, speaking. "Can I speak with you two?" He asked. "Alone?" He was speaking more to the girls than Anakin who was glaring at the planet with utter contempt.

After bringing them away from General Skywalker, Cody stares at them, eyes soft, "General Skywalker has lost his wife on this planet. Drawn through the streets of Theed in a four-gualaar carriage, Amidala's body was seen as drowning in a watery casket, as her funeral gown was several different shades of blue and her hair was fanned appropriately. Over 16 years ago, she was buried here. Thousands of mourners witnessed or followed the procession, which was led by Queen Apailana, Boss Rugor Nass, Representative Jar Jar Binks, Governor Sio Bibble, Amidala's family, and her former handmaidens, who acted as pallbearers. Although Naboo custom dictated that the deceased was to be cremated at the Theed Funeral Temple and their ashes cast into the Solleu River before plunging off the cliff from the bridge between the Livet Tower and the temple, Padmé Amidala's lifeless body was subsequently entombed in a stone sarcophagus ornated with the Naboo emblem and located in a private mausoleum. To him, it is likely too much to bare."

"Wow? And I take it Skywalker doesn't want to visit this planet," Winter guessed.

"You presume correctly. I have spotted Skywalker before my mission to Utapau with General Kenobi. He was tired, which was evident by the fact that he had bags underneath his eyes. I can presume that he had Force Visions. General Kenobi told me about them. Presumably, they could tell a one's future but they are not always correct." He stated, rubbing the back of his forehead as he begins to recall his former General's lectures. "Force visions were rare—but powerful—aspects of the Force, and considered the cornerstone of the Unifying Force. They were among the greatest of Force powers. There are a few times where Kenobi received a Force Vision on the battlefield which had resulted in an ability to see into the past, the future, and other places. An ability once possessed by all Jedi, in the final years of the Galactic Republic before its transformation into the Galactic Empire, it had grown rare. According to Kenobi, some Sith, as Force users, were also capable of experiencing Force visions. Despite their prophetic nature, Force visions were not absolute in their content and could be left up to much interpretation, with the emotions of the witness potentially clouding their judgement on the issue or otherwise causing them to misread the vision. Some Jedi attributed this to the future constantly being in motion, with the visions merely warning of what could happen. As such, visions were treated with great caution by the Order."

"So General Kenobi trusted you that much?" Leia asked.

"Yes..." Cody's head tilted downwards mournfully, "until I shot him off a kriffing cliff on Utapau." Cody's eyes became angrier and his jaw clenched. "We should be prepared. Likely, General Skywalker would want to be alone but we need to gain access to new armor."

As their shuttle landed at a hanger port, Anakin noticed stormtroopers approaching and drew his weapon from his belt, but Cody took immediate action and placed his hand on his shoulder, and shook his head.

After a few minutes of waiting until they come down, the stormtroopers apparently had enough and marched in, but Cody was waiting for them. He immediately stunned the troopers with perfect accuracy before they could have reacted.

"Princess, we need for you and your sister to place the bodies in the back. They would assign reinforcements within an hour." Cody reported. He had known this since he had known all the bases due to being an Imperial stormtrooper for almost 2 decades.

"Then that means we have limited time," Winter declared as she pulled a stormtrooper into the smuggling compartment. They placed their own cuffs on the stormtroopers and stripped them of their armor.

"We could use this armor," Anakin replied sharply, pointing at each individual as he spoke. "Cody, you place on the commander gear. Leia and Winter, privates. I'm taking the sergeant gear."

"Right," Leia replied, nodding in agreement. "Father, me and you should see mother's body. Winter and Cody, you would purchase new armor."

Anakin and Leia walked through the streets, making certain to look like a sergeant teaching a private or their cover would be exposed.

It was up to Cody and Winter that they receive armor, but for now, Anakin and Leia felt it would be right for them to gain at least a privilege to see the woman that was Anakin's wife and Leia's mother.

Anakin did catch the disgusting looks the natives of Naboo sent his way and had to resist the urge to clutch his hands up into fists. Part of him was tempted to march down that palace and destroyed the queen who dared to spat on his wife and Apailana's legacy by allowing the these-these serpents to continue terrorizing their people.

An old man was knocked over by a stormtrooper. It was so unfair! The old man was walking, and the trooper wanted only reasons to arrest him. Anakin couldn't take it anymore.

"Trooper with me," Anakin commanded coldly, hoping that his false position as sergeant would buy him a privilege.

"Yes, sir," the trooper replied, following behind Anakin and Leia into an alley, unaware of what is going to happen to him by the older Skywalker.

Anakin reached out with the Force and constricted his hold around his neck and brought him to him, causing him to reach up desperately before his throat finally snapped, the sounds of cracks being music to the young Jedi's ears. Unbeknownst to Anakin, his eyes were golden underneath his helmet.

Anakin grabs the stormtrooper's lifeless body as Leia opened up a garbage can and he threw the lifeless trooper inside, not caring what would happen to the individual. He had been tempted to killing all of these slaves and free Naboo.

When they emerged from the dark alleyway, Leia immediately scolded Anakin, "Have you lost your mind?! We have only an hour and you are already causing trouble!"

Anakin shrugged. "It's fun."

Anakin could practically sense Leia rolling her eyes behind her temporary helmet.

Leia followed in silence as the man led them towards the building. Leia had known it was best to be close to him as he approaches the building. Anakin was heartbroken. She could just feel it.

Stepping up a series of marble steps, Leia watched as Anakin opened the door with the Force. He had noted security cameras of some sort. All types of graves have them so nobody would be able to toy with them.

"Surrender! Surrender!" A droid said.

Two droids only.

Anakin aimed his blaster up at the droids and fired at the two droids, and in under a second, both were destroyed. Carelessly, Anakin stormed past their corpses. No one would ban him from seeing Padmé.

Before he could enter the building that housed many dead monarchs who had all had a room so they could receive proper respect.

Without hesitation, Anakin stormed past the many graves, wanting to find Padmé's grave. Finally, they came to a stop at a staircase and begins to walk up the stairs, their foots making cracks on the stairs.

Anakin could see a security camera and was tempted in destroying it, but he had chosen against it as he had no intentions of potentially giving himself away to whoever may be an enemy.

However, Anakin and Leia were immediately met with hostilities and a stun laser forced Anakin and Leia on their knees. Anakin looked down at his knees immediately giving out, shocked. What was this?

The Jedi Knight looked up at who he soon recognized as Sabé, Eirtaé, Rabé, Saché and Dormé, former handmaidens of Amidala, all aiming their guns at them. He could tell they haven't changed much, though they did appear depressed. Likely, the death of Padmé has made them gloomy as she was a close friend to them all, and would always stand beside them whenever one of them fallen. The sisterly bond between the handmaidens was quite honorable.

Of course, only the handmaidens of Padmé would be bold enough to challenge the imperial army. None of them had aged a bit. That must be due to the endless training they have received from Panaka and Typho due to exercise basically being a way not to age fast. Without exercise, adults over age 50 lose 15 percent of their strength each decade, but they must have always exercise. Besides, how else could they pin one of the strongest Jedi Knight in the galaxy?

"What is the meaning of you being here, sergeant?" Sabé demanded firmly, glaring down at Anakin underneath his visor.

It had made him cringed that most of these Handmaidens who were his friends were glaring down at him like he was a monster. Unless Anakin and Leia take shift action, these Handmaidens would simultaneously kill them and leave them somewhere secure without any trace or evidence of their involvement.

He could sense that they weren't welcoming of the Empire - and Anakin knew two lonely stormtroopers could easily be captured if caught by the element of surprise. It was all about territory and they would protect Padmé's grave to their deaths.

Even though he had a gun at his back which can take his life almost immediately, Anakin took his chances and removed his helmet, causing the ladies who kept him constrained to tense slightly, but upon seeing his face, the shock of all the ladies was obvious to the Force. It wasn't long before the ladies recognized him.

"You guys still know how to be so welcoming, Sabé," Anakin quipped, his voice not changing much. Well, he was 26 right now, despite them not knowing that.

"Anakin!" Dormé exclaimed, racing up. "Release him!" She demanded to two random Handmaidens who was restraining him. The ladies hesitated slightly but allowed Anakin to stand up, only for her to immediately wrap her arms around him. They had a sibling bond of some sort throughout the years.

An angry look came across her face. "Wait a minute, I'm supposed to be angry with you!" Dormé then kicked him in the ribs, making him breathe heavily and grasp his ribs. Damn these women are more skilled than they look. "We thought you had died in the purge! What possessed you in not returning to us if you managed to survive Order 66?! We would have helped you! We never believed the Emperor about how the Jedi betrayed the Republic yet you left Padmé heartbroken as she was worried about you!"

The handmaidens have formed an overprotectiveness over the Queen they have served without loyalty or without question.

Anakin grimaced. Were they always that intimidating? "It's a long story." He paused. "Please, allow me to see her." He had felt the darkest urge to slam them to the side but they didn't deserve such cold treatment from him.

"Of course," Eirtaé offered.

"Um, Anakin, you do realize you are next to a stormtrooper," Rabé added, glaring at Leia suspiciously.

Leia removed her helmet, revealing herself. They were surprised to see at least a younger form of Padmé Amidala. She was actually a perfect replica of the Senator but some years younger than when Padmé was alive. Still, anybody would be either an idiot or blind-sighted in not spotting the appearance that Leia had with the once Queen of Naboo.

Their eyes glazed at her before they looked up at Anakin, seeing that Leia had Anakin's looks as well all except Sabé who exchanged a smile with Leia who returned the smile. They recognized each other immediately, even though they haven't seen each other for quite some time.

In her service to the House of Organa, Sabé was employed as an envoy to establish resistance cells across the galaxy, gather and spread information, and handle the distribution of matériel to said rebel groups. Sabé also had the opportunity to interact with young Leia and her friend Winter. Sabé tutored the girls; Leia in matters of court etiquette and diplomacy, and Winter in security and bodyguard tactics.

She was more shocked at not seeing the resemblances before or not wanting to see them due to painful memories but she had seen it clearly now and she had wish she had notices the appearance before.

"Explain," Yané spoke first.

Except for Sabé, the Handmaidens either crossed their arms across their chests or places their hands on their hips.

"Explain what?" Anakin inquired sheepishly. How could he explain this? Oh, I just slept with Senator Amidala, don't worry. Can we just drop the subject?

"Explain why she looks like Senator Amidala," Saché, speaking for the first time, clarified.

"Um, I would rather not explain that," he stated, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. They would never allow him to live it down. Anakin had far since expected they were suspicious of him and Padmé because they would literally give excuses for them.

"I knew it!" Sabé surprisingly laughed.

'Damn, does she have to be so observant?' he mentally queried.

"I told you all there was something between Anakin and Senator Amidala!" She exclaims, smirking. "And yet none of you believed me!"

"Indeed," Rabé agreed. "They were never good actors."

"Thinking about it, we all probably knew, but turned a blind eye out of loyalty to Senator Amidala," Yané chimed in.

"Oh come on, how do so many people know about my relationship with Padmé?!" He raged seriously, grasping his head dramatically.

"Um, let's see," Eirtaé said, placing her hand on her chin out of pretend thinking, her grinning teasingly, "there are the poor excuses for giving you a call whenever you were in the outer rim she has given to us, you two making random excuses, pretending we were oblivious and dismantle us for no reason, and the random storing aways whenever you were at 500 Republica, and you literally storming right past us to see Senator Amidala to the point where most of us believed you would have pushed us off the building. By the way, you shouldn't sneak in the 500 Republica at night, assume we didn't see your silhouette, and imagine we don't hear the sound of your speeder pulling up at nightfall. Do you require any other indication?"

"Also, there is the fact that we heard your two mutterings sweet nothings towards each other as we left 500 Republica," Dormé mentioned, a chuckle in her throat.

"Am I'm that obvious?" Anakin asked, annoyed.

"Yes!" All of them simultaneously replied.

Anakin grumbled, "I hope you all know I still hate you all." It was a tease of course. Anakin made a reputation of teasing the Handmaidens and so they decided to give him the same treatment. Sabé was the most fun but the responses from the others, especially Dormé and Rabé, were hilarious.

"Well, you all stared at Obi-Wan like he was the prettiest thing in the galaxy," Anakin stated, causing each of the Handmaidens to blush. "Oh, Obi, you're so hot!" He faked Sabé's voice. "I believe you all had slept with him at one point."

"Men," Sabé replied, rolling her eyes. "Of course we never slept with Kenobi. He was just handsome." Okay, that last part wasn't meant to slip out.

Deciding to use this as an opportunity, Anakin smirks. "Oh, so he's handsome? You know you Handmaidens have keen interests. I believed even a few of you had a crush on me."

Saché and Eirtaé squirmed slightly at that, and Anakin caught it. To many of them, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were handsome men.

"Well you got a pretty daughter there, Anakin, undoubtedly due to Padmé," Sabé stated, turning to Leia, attempting to change the subject.

"In two or three years she would be allowed to date," Rabé said.

"No, she's off-limits. No boys for her." Anakin countered, placing his arms on both of her shoulders protectively.

"Now wait a minute..." Leia was about to speak in retaliation to her father.

Dormé rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on, Anakin, you know a beautiful girl such as herself is going to find a man."

"If he touches my little girl, he won't be a man any longer." Anakin declares. Naturally, the overprotective possession that he had to Padmé fallen onto Leia as she is the last one who represents his dead wife. Now, he is practically a widow.

"You forget I'm not a little girl anymore," her words, as half-joking she had tried to forced them to be, cut Anakin's soul-deep, and his mouth opened in horror. It had hurt Anakin that he couldn't be given the opportunity to raise her, all because of self-sacrifice and purposely throwing his life away.

Leia shot him an apologetic look. For years, she'd hated Darth Vader even though she never met him personally, but she had never understood who he is nor what he's been through. Darth Vader, as well as his actions, aren't justified, are just as much a victim as most of the galaxy is if not more.

Leia remembers her adopted father's words about the Jedi; "There is no emotion; there is peace."

That's the first edict of the Jedi Code, a mantra intended to semi-universally dictate the Jedi-way of life. The reason the Jedi recruits immediately after birth/hatching/spawning/whatever is so that Jedi younglings will grow up with this mentality fully ingrained into their behaviors. Now him, having grown up a slave and all, is probably not that emotionally stable, let alone being anywhere close to the Jedi state of mind. So the first thing that the Jedi are going to do is hammers much of this behavioral conditioning as they can, as often as they can, into her father's head.

How could anyone succumb to such a code is beyond her. There is no way no one can't feel any emotion ever, not even the Jedi. While her adopted father told her the Code worked for a really long time, for thousands of years, in fact, the Jedi Code and the Jedi may have supposedly stood strong, but the Jedi of Old is dead.

Turning back to the Handmaidens, attempting to keep the emotions from rising up and pathetically attempting to prevent the tears out of his eyes, Anakin spoke. "I want to see her body now. Please."

They nodded and indicated for Anakin and Leia to begin following them.

"By the way, rumors had it that you died in the purge. How did you get your daughter?" Rabé inquired.

Anakin stares down at Leia for a moment, knowing that he cannot tell them the truth. There is no way they would understand him. They are fiercely loyal to Padmé and would berate him if they realized the truth.

"In the assault on the Jedi Temple, my men and I had done combat. It was then that a young Jedi named Darth Vader, a pupil of Obi-Wan before he became evil, choose to helped Sidious overthrow the Jedi and attacked me. Vader was assigned a detachment of the 501st Legion's clone troopers, my troopers, and was tasked with storming the Jedi Temple on Coruscant alongside them. This massacre, as well as the mandate given to the clones instructing them to kill their Jedi officers in the field, marked the beginning of a galaxy-wide hunt for the Jedi. Most of the Jedi inside the Temple were executed by the invaders while the Temple burned, and within minutes of the Purge's inception, much of the Jedi Order was wiped out. During the fighting, Vader altered a beacon that alerted Jedi across the galaxy—the ones that had not already fallen to the clones in their ranks—that the Clone Wars were over and ordered them back to the Temple, where a garrison of clone troopers lay in wait to finish them off. All of the Jedi who complied with the beacon's mandate was killed by squads of clones, some of whom were disguised as Jedi themselves. To prevent deaths, Obi-Wan and Yoda infiltrated the Temple and switched the beacon, changing the message to ward away any surviving Jedi and instructing them to go into hiding. With the operation's completion, the bodies of the slain Jedi were publicly burned in a massive pyre in front of the Jedi Temple's public entrance. I attempted to save the younglings but Vader slaughtered them before I could have been able to save him and I was left to duel with him."

Anakin lifted up a sleeve, revealing a distance scar on his arm that he has gotten in the Outer Rim after a tri-droid collapsed on top of him and had pinned him. Kix and Coric were surprised that he had managed to survive and recovered fairly quickly but it was one of many scars that would be there his whole life.

They were shocked, and Anakin could sense they believed him.

"While we were dueling, Vader managed to gain the upper hand and sliced my arm and Force Push me into the rubble of the Temple. There, he'd had believed that I perished as a statue fallen on me. In reality, I was unconscious. After I awoke, I managed to sneak past the clones and ran for a starfighter."

He paused and sighed heavily. "I returned to 500 Republica. It was then I learned Vader abducted Padmé in the hope to take our children. My old Master went to Mustafar to help her. He had threatened Padmé, choking her with the Force. The two engaged. After Obi-Wan defeated Vader in a lightsaber duel on Mustafar, only to have Darth Sidious rescue his injured apprentice, Obi-Wan took the injured Padmé to a medical facility on the asteroid Polis Massa, where Master Yoda and Bail Organa awaited their arrival. There, a medical team attempted to save Padmé's life. However, they discovered that she was dying, having apparently lost the will to live because of Vader's brutal torture of her body.

In the last minutes of her life, Padmé gave birth to our healthy daughter. In her final breaths, she told me to raise Leia. Ever since I have raised her on Alderaan until recently, the Empire tracked us down, and Vader attempted to abduct my daughter."

"Darth Vader is a monster!" Saché cried, clenching her hands up into fists furiously.

"Not only did Vader attempt to strip a mother from her daughter, but he also wanted to spat on the name of Anakin Skywalker and use his daughter as a weapon!" Elirtaé growled, slamming her fist against her head.

Although all of the Handmaidens were venting, Sabé was staring at Anakin suspiciously, attempting to read him since she had always been able to read him like a book. Like Padmé, Sabé is extremely smart and her intelligence is not to be taken for question. Sometimes, Anakin believed, that she was also Force Sensitive, though it highly unlikely, but she definitely is the smartest among the handmaidens. Along with the other handmaidens, Sabé was trained to serve as both an attendant and a bodyguard, and as the most important of her group, she was chosen to be the first in line to take the queen's place in times of crisis, as a decoy. Together with Padmé, Sabé perfected her act as queen, learning to mimic the monarch accurately. There was just something about her that could make her terrifyingly similar to his dead wife at times.

Sabé knew there was something off about Anakin's story. Force, did the woman have to be so intelligent?

"I know," Anakin noted darkly, clenching his jaw and gritting his teeth, not having to deceive his anger. He was going to kill Vader and Palpatine in due time.

"I want to see her body," Anakin demanded once again, though unlike before when they were trying to bring up times of a bygone era, Anakin was done, "now." There was something about his voice that startled several of them into action.

Finally easing slightly, despite Sabé wanting to confront him, she ordered. "You require a specific code to enter."

Winter and Cody were walking through the city though Cody had been able to call off patrols while Winter remained to herself. She was slightly unease that Cody was now commanding stormtroopers as she still didn't trust him with him just being an Imperial trooper, probably killing over thousands of innocent beings and terrorizing them.

"Troopers. Stand here." Cody leaned into her ear, whispering. "Remove the armor and purchase some clothing. Patrols are all over the streets. I'm going to have to ask you for some identification."

Winter nodded slightly and went behind a building, undoubtedly to remove her armor, and once she did, she was in the robes she wasn't wearing that long ago.

Placing on the best-imitating voice he possibly could, Cody spoke as roughly as he could as stormtroopers approached from behind. "Wait right there, civilian, we have never seen you on the streets before. Let me see some identification."

Winter handed him her card as Cody pretends to inspect it. "Princess Organa, you should return to Alderaan. It is dangerous for a minor to be without security guards."

"I have plans to do that. My shuttle crashed here so I have plans to contact my father." Winter said.

Cody rolled his eyes underneath his helmet. Whereas he respects the Organa girls, such a lie is easily detectable.

"Very well," Cody replied, "but I shall go with you." He had attempted to make his voice darker, "to ensure that you are not deceiving the Empire."

"Never, commander, we the people of Alderaan are loyal to the Empire," Winter replied, her voice becoming noticeably darker as she glares at the stormtroopers before her stare returned to him.

"Move along," Cody ordered, waving her along with his gloved hand. "Troopers, disembark. I am going to follow the princess. Something is odd about her."

"Yes, sir," the troopers affirmed simultaneously, saluting to their commander before quickly following their orders and returned to their pose.

Knowing it had worked better than expected, Cody begins to follow after the princess, who pretends to be oblivious.

Eventually, she came across a store at Theed. She could tell by its limited resources that it was once a military store of some sort due to the medical droids and medkits, but unfortunately, it didn't have armor nor weapons, undoubtedly being confiscated by the Empire.

Winter knew it was only a matter of time before they come to collect those remaining supplies as well. The Empire would steal from anyone to benefit their cause and strengthen their hold over the planet.

An elderly lady, well innocent enough, walked up. She had pale skin, wrinkles across her face, and Winter could tell that she was suffering.

She could tell that the Empire was at fault for this. This had only further her hatred for the Empire.

"Greetings, young lady, what would you require to purchase?" She asked, placing her hands in front of her chest.

"A medical droid," Winter retorted, not unkindly.

A smile came across her lips. "Of course, 100 credits."

"Why isn't there more in this shop?" Winter inquired though she knew the answer. She just has to play the role of a naive individual.

Her smile fallen.

"We use to have more in the shop throughout the Clone Wars, but when the Empire rise, they confiscated all of our equipment. My husband attempted to defend this shop, fighting to his dying breath, and he was killed for-for it along with my elder son." Tears begin to fall down her eyes as she stares up soberly at the young lady. "Young lady, please take my advice; don't ever take what you have for granted."

Winter grimaced. She had loved Leia and had left behind her home to joined her sister when she could have remained on Alderaan. What if she loses Leia to the Empire the same way many families did?

Pushing the thoughts aside immediately, Winter grabbed the credit chip and handed it over to the woman. "It's 1000 credits. Please accept my tip and please live a good life."

She was about to argue when she had spotted the fierce determination across the younger woman's face and apparently realized she couldn't argue. She had sighed and nodded. "Thank you. Now allow me to get my top medical droid."

"Any droid would suffice," Winter said worriedly, knowing as she looked over at a chronometer that Anakin and Leia's time was short.

Anakin entered with Leia, coming to a stop to where he had known was her tomb. The Handmaidens were down below, likely making certain that no one would interrupt the family moment.

Leia placed her hand on his shoulder and nodded before moving to the tomb of her mother. It was close, and truthfully, Leia didn't want to open it.

"I'm so sorry, Padmé, if I hadn't allowed my power to blind my judgment. If I had just listened to you..." he was already speaking before he even arrived at her tomb.

Anakin moved to follow his daughter but the man didn't get any further before he broke down into sobs. His head all but collapsed onto the ground, his legs all but giving out as he stares at the picture with tearful puffy eyes. He couldn't open it and see the bones and remainings of his wife inside.

Anakin wasn't ready for that.

"She is as beautiful as I remember," Leia said soothingly, in the hope to calm her father.

"As you remember?" Anakin inquired, looking up at her with puffy eyes and raising his eyebrows at Leia. Was it possible Padmé managed to survive childbirth after all, at least for a short while?

Leia bowed her head out of slight sadness as she closes her eyes and recalls her dreams, "Yes. When I was younger, I would occasionally receive visions of her. It was usually of her being constantly heartbroken but still was always beautiful."

Anakin arched an eyebrow at the young woman. The likely reason Leia likely remembers Padmé is that she could sense her mother's emotions at the time of her passing, and it had shamed Anakin that he was never able to give her the proper chance to be raised by Padmé.

"Have you ever considered learning the Force, Leia?" He asked, feeling the need to change the subject. Her presence here was scarcely enough to soo the young man, but he would accept a change in subject.

"No, I had wanted to be a Senator thanks to Bail and Breha, but I have deeply considered it ever since you resurfaced," Leia declares honestly. She had wanted to become a Jedi Knight and to stop the machine who her father has become and the one who he calls his Master.

Anakin stared down at Leia, remembering what happened to Ahsoka and hoping that he wouldn't fail her if he does indeed train her. It could end wrongly and badly, and she could suffer a fate more worse than being exiled.

If Vader comes across her, it is plausible he would not be able to recognize her and would destroy her instantly for being a Jedi. Was Anakin willing to put his daughter at that risk?

"Allow us to depart. I don't wish to remain here any longer." Anakin said instead. He was going to ask her for her Force Sensitivity later but he had needed to get out of here before there was a possibility that he would break down.

Along the way out, Anakin choked on his sobs and tears were leaking out of his eyes as he followed his daughter. How could he have failed her? He had been willing to turn to the dark side to learn the knowledge of Darth Plagueis and finally have her with him so they could be a complete family without the Jedi or anyone getting in their way. She and their children were all that mattered to him, yet Anakin had allowed his desire for power to blind him from the truth.

He failed her.

'I've failed her.'
