(Sonic's POV)

Fighting Zavok was not as easy as we thought and we haven't beaten him because we all failed and retreated. No, I'm not cowering again. I was scared of Zavok as a child but I'm not a child anymore, I'm a man.

"You guys go back, I'm fighting Zavok alone." I said as I was about to leave the ship when Amy grabbed my arm.

"No way, Sonic! He'll kill you! I lost Maria and I can't lose you too!" Amy begged on to stay on the ship.

"I lost my father and I almost lost you too. If I die, I die to save the universe." I said as I kissed her on the lips, just in case if I never come back. Not only am I kissing her, I was distracting her so I can reach the Autopilot on the control panel for the ship to automatically take off. I pushed the button and let go of this kiss from Amy.

"Good bye guys!" I said and quickly got out of the ship before the door hatch closed.

"SONIC NO!" Amy screamed my name but the ship took off.

Perfect timing when Zavok showed up and he landed roughly on the pavement of the street like a loud earthquake.

"Zavok, I'm surprised you haven't given up yet and sending your teammates to fight us was a very dumb thing." I said as we both circled around while talking.

"I never give up. I just sent my teammate to do my job by wiping out other planets solo." Zavok said.

"My teammates and I beaten them easily. You're the only one left and I'll make sure your defeat is in vain." I said as my bio-electricity appeared around my body.

"Then so be it!" Zavok slams his fists together and tries to punch me but I jumped out of the way and punched him in the face.

I ran up the debris building to knock it down on him by punching the building to make it fall. I held my hands together and slammed the supports to make the building crash onto him.

"Timber!" I screamed.

"Huh?! AAAAGH!" Zavok saw the building fall onto him.

Bam! It was like it crushed him. Luckily, I got out of the way. "That should keep him down."

I felt the debris shaking; damn it, I was wrong. How can he survive from being crushed by a building?!

"YAAAAAAAAGH!" Zavok roared, now the size of a building. "TREMBLE BEFORE ME BOY!" His voice was much deeper.

"YOU TREMBLE FIRST!" I ran right at the other collapsed building with my speed, jumping on him and touched his arm with my electricity.

"GRAAAAGH!" Zavok roared in pain and I felt more sparks appear on me.

Then I ran right at his face and punched him with my mighty strength. "Alright Zavok! THIS ENDS HERE!" I yelled and I launched at him tackling him to a large crack.

When he crashed at it, it became larger and opened up an lava pit. Zavok got back up eyes filled with hatred.

"This isn't over boy! I will tear you, limb to limb!" Zavok yelled.

"THEN SO BE IT!" I dashed at him again and he stumbled backwards and tried to punch at me again. I jumped aside but felt a loud rumbling from the ground and Zavok felt it too.

"Huh?! What the heck did you do?!" Zavok asked.

Then out of the lava came a large T-rex like creature made of lava and stone out. "MWAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

"No! NOOO NOT THIS! AAAAAAAAAAGH!" Zavok got grabbed by the Lava rex and was torn apart by the jaws and swallowed, at last his terror is no more or is it? The Lava rex noticed me too and I ran away from it running through the lava fields. For being so big it moved quickly.

"You had your lunch, that's enough!" I slide underneath a rusty bus and back to running when I heard the rust bus getting thrown and almost landed behind me. Okay maybe it was foolish fighting alone but now I got a lava rex chasing me.

The street is a dead end but the rail should help me glide on it. The lava rex can't possibly make that jump. I jumped on to it and saw my ship coming back. This is my chance. I glide down the rail as the lava rex resumes pursuing me.

"Here I go!" I used my speed to get further away from the monster on the rails.

"We are coming, Sonic!" Silver flew down along with Nebula to come and get me out of here before the rails that I'm gliding on will collapse by that monster destroying the rails.

I gave one big leap as the rails finally give in and I was caught by Silver's telekinetic grip.

"RROOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRR!" The lava rex roared in anger that he didn't catch me. Too bad for him.

"Not today, big boy! Go back to sleep!" Nebula threw multiple energy blasts at the monster to settle it down and go back in the lava where he came from.

"Thanks guys." I thanked the two.

"Next time don't fight alone." Silver replied.

"I did it out of love. I followed my gut." I complained.

"Did you follow your gut or your head?" Silver teased me for a real answer.

"I believe he's saying he followed his heart to sacrifice his life to save all of us which was a very brave thing he did." Nebula said.

I shrugged and we all went back to the ship. I'm happy they came back for me but I could've beaten that monster but I guess I wouldn't make it out alive if it weren't for them coming back.

"Sonic!" Amy pounced onto me.

"Agh! Amy, easy!" I groaned from getting pounced.

"How could you Sonic?! Did you have any idea how scared I was of losing you?!" Amy screamed.

I got her off of me and stand back up. "Uh, define the definition of how scared you were?" I was lost at words to say because of her reaction.

"Out of ten I thought you were gonna die! Please don't ever and I mean never do that again!" Amy said.

"Okay, okay! I won't. I didn't mean to but I was following my gut. Zavok is dead. I'm sorry I made you get scared to death like hell. Come here" I pulled her in for a hug.

"Oh Sonic" She hugs back and she pulled back with a sly smirk. "And since you kissed me for distraction, I'll return the favor." Amy grabs my face and kissed me.

This time I felt the warmth and love from her kiss so I kissed her back but eventually I needed air to breathe. "Amy I..."

"A hero like you needs a girl to guide you." Amy said.

"And her brother will be keeping an eye on you, blue boy." Shadow gave me the Deadly scowling eyes.

"Uhh...define how I'll make you happy, Shadow." I whimpered in fear.

Shadow chuckled at my intense fear, "If Amy is happy, make sure you treat her right and never EVER hurt her again like you did earlier by distracting her or I'll make sure you feel very petrified by my stare again." Shadow glared at me.

"Okay, okay! Spare me!" I begged him to stop scaring me.

"Alright." Shadow chuckled darkly.

"Shadow, why do you have to be so scowling all the time?" Amy was very annoyed.

"Still part of my personality." Shadow excused himself.

Later, we arrived back to Planet Mobius 91 and we landed near Galactic Academy. Master Espio was standing there expecting us and he noticed that I look like crap due to fighting Zavok earlier but I'm okay and that I'm alive.

"Sonic, I see you and your team survived Zavok." He said.

"Yeah, but the good thing is that Zavok is dead." I said.

"Good. But you sure took a lot of damage." He noticed.

"Yeah, I did and that proves that I survived the fight." I said, noticing my super suit damaged.

"Well we're gonna celebrate the defeat of the Deadly Six. But you need some treatment." Espio said.

"Yeah, I need a long shower." I chuckled.

Much later, I was out of the shower and got dressed in my repaired suit. Amy sure likes to design more suits in case one of ours gets damaged again. That girl really is something. And since the kiss we shared I feel like running in a flower field.

My nose picked up a scent and I know who it is. Amy is invisible again and she sure likes to be sneaky again. "Are you being sneaky like a spooky ghost?" I smirked, wherever she is.

"Aw you caught me." Amy giggles and reappeared visible.

"You know we all share the same quarters room. Were you worried I was in the shower for too long?" I teased her.

"Maybe. I don't peek in on boys showering." Amy said.

"Pervert." I playfully glared.

"Pfft! As if!" Amy blushed.

"Or were you playing invisible and seek?" I chuckled at how funny it is to be cocky to her.

"Perhaps. Your father would be so proud of you defeating Zavok." Amy said.

"We all defeated the zeties, and technically, it was that lava dinosaur monster that ate Zavok, not me." I said.

"Yes, but you indirectly defeated him." Amy said, holding me close to her.

"Um yeah" I blushed.

"Awww Sonic." Amy then kissed my cheek.

"Heh, since when are you the goddess of love?" I asked shyly.

"Well, since I laid eyes on you and got to know you." Amy said.

"The old me or the super me?" I asked.

"Both." Amy replied.

Then we heard Silver and Shadow call for us. "Are you lovebirds coming?!" asked Shadow.

"We're coming. Sheesh, your brother is very aggressively impatient." I said.

"Heh, he's always like that to everyone but deep down he's still the sweetest brother to me. I'll make sure he behaves around you." Amy giggled.

"I feel better because those scowling eyes really give me nightmares" I chuckled nervously.

"You'll get used to it." Amy said.
