Ruby stood from the ground and questioned why the Schnee seemed unwilling to admit that she, in fact, had no idea where she was going. To this Weiss assured that she knew exactly where they were going as the two once again began to argue over whether Weiss was bossy or not and that she should also stop treating like a kid but to this Weiss once again stormed off in another random direction with Ruby just uttering that Weiss doesn't even know her so how can she continue to act so superior to her.
Blake and Yang entered the temple they were set to find, but to Yang, it just seemed to be a half-destroyed stone circle with pillars going around it. Blake noted the supposed relics were curiously just oversized black and gold chess pieces and Yang also realised that somewhere missing assuming that some of the other students had already no doubt arrived and taking their own before heading back to the cliffs. After observing each piece, Blake questioned which piece, they should take with Yang simply picking up a golden knight piece and commenting, "How bout a cute little pony" which brought a small smile to Blake's face as she nodded in agreement.
Towards the edge of the forest, Pyrrha and Jaune found themselves at the entrance to a cave with primitive scrawling's dotting the walls. Jaune believed that this was obviously the objective they were supposed to find, but Pyrrha was hesitant to assume that Jaune was correct however Jaune was steadfast and reminded her that he was the one to make the torch so to humour his capability. As Jaune finished, he tripped over a loose rock causing him to lose his torch a puddle that had formed from the water seeping through the stone. Continuing through the pitch black of the cave the duo suddenly found themselves before what appeared to a glowing golden oval that ended in a large curved point. Jaune concluded that this must be the Relic Ozpin spoke of much to his joy however Pyrrha attempted to voice the growing doubt and dread that had settled in as the blonde reached for the 'relic' it moved back to avoid the boy's grasp.
Diving forward Jaune was able to get a hold of the believed relic, but as he held it, the golden spike rose, and the darkness beneath it was suddenly cut through by glowing red markings and five pairs of soulless crimson eyes… a Deathstalker.
Jaune let out a girlish scream as Pyrrha dashed back out of the cave entrance with the large scorpion-like Grimm crashing through the stone of the cliffside in pursuit with Jaune still clinging to its tail. The creature, unlike its other Grimm relatives, held a black exoskeleton rather than the normal black fur or feathers with white bone plates rested atop it and its tail being golden emitting a faint glow as a means to attract prey. The Grimm also had moss and visible scars on its carapace, signifying its advanced age. Trying to usher Jaune to keep hold of the tail for safety Pyrrha was however cut short as the Grimm thrust its tail forward causing Jaune to be sent flying over the treeline.
As the two professors observed from the cliffside, they were surprised by a now calm voice behind them.
"I take it back the kid's going to need A LOT of training, but I'm sure with the same great teachers I had growing up we can make of a warrior out of him yet."
After berating himself about allowing emotions to get in his way and this was no way to act as a warrior, Talon had returned to the cliffside to resume overseeing the initiation before he continued that speaking of kids, Ruby and Weiss appeared to vanish of his broadcast cameras so he questioned where the two could have gotten too.
Yang and Blake remained at the temple with Yang determined that they wait for her little sister to catch up, however as the two stood Blake's bow seemed to twitch before she questioned her partner if she could hear something?
Craning their necks up the blonde brawler and the ravenette were met with the sight of an incoming red streak with Ruby calling for them to catch her, but before she can hit the ground, she is crashed into mid-air by Jaune causing both to crash into the trees to the right of the temple. Ruby shook the disorientation before greeting the blonde she had crashed into moments prior who currently hung upside down from the branches above.
Confused by the turn of events Blake questions her partner on if her sister just fell from the sky but before Yang can respond the treeline ahead of them crashes forward as an Ursa Major charges ahead before slowing and falling face forward into the dirt with Nora revealed to be clinging the creatures back using the Grimm bear as a makeshift mount. "Aww it broke" is all the girl states before the exhausted Ren catches up behind her calling for the energetic Ginger to not do that again. However, his hyperactive companion pays this no mind as she takes a golden castle piece from the temple and placing it on her head while exclaiming that she is now queen of the castle.
With this new development, Blake questioned if Nora just 'rode' in on an Ursa much to the blonde brawler's growing frustration at the continuing commotion. Before Yang can call out a rumble is heard as Pyrrha breaks through the trees with the same Deathstalker from earlier hot on her tail calling out to her partner as the others also reunited.
"Jaune?"
"Pyrrha?"
"Yang!"
"Ruby!"
"NORA!"
As Nora announces her name, Blake questions out loud the situations which tip Yang over the point of frustration. "Did she just run all the way here with a Deathstalker on her tail?"
"I can't take it anymore can everyone just chill out for two seconds?!"
As the seconds' tick by Ruby gently taps her sister's shoulder and points upward to reveal Ruby's partner Weiss clinging to the clawed foot of an enormous Nevermore. As Weiss continued to cling by a hair length, she calls out to Ruby questioning how the girl could leave her, but Ruby tries to defend by yelling back that she did tell Wiess to jump.
Seeing her precarious situation Blake and then Ren chimes in to point out the girl's condition.
"She's gonna fall."
"She'll be fine."
"She's falling."
Finally getting unstuck from those annoying branches, Jaune sees his chance to earn brownie points and dives out of the tree he was in into the path of the falling Schnee. However, having not truly planned the manoeuvre out once he had caught Weiss in a princess carry Jaune quickly realised that he had no actual plan for the descent and uncharismatically crashed to the floor face first with Weiss landing on his back a moment after sarcastically referring to him as her hero as Pyrrha was still attempting to lose the pursuing Deathstalker as she ran along the outskirts of the clearing before the Grimm scorpions claw swiped her away sending her crashing at the feet of the slowly gathering group.
As Jaune and Weiss regrouped and Pyrrha dusted herself off Yang was quick to point out that the gang was all there, that way they can all die together but Ruby buts in that none of them will die not if she can help it and charged at the oncoming Deathstalker much to her sister's worry. However, as the young rose drew in for an attach the Nevermore they had previously hitched a ride on had circled back and flung its wings forward releasing a barrage of barbed feathers at the huntress in training, missing her body but trapping her cape to the ground as the Deathstalker drew its stinger back to strike. Due to the distance, the group can only look in horror unable to move fast enough to close the distance to help her, Yang yelling her sister's name before the stinger lurches forward to strike at the pinned rose.
