Well that Smash reveal was quite something, wasn't it? Hope we get a specific date soon. But enough of that, let's get to the story.

With the second and third sections of the Dark Temple conquered, all that's left is the final area where Ben and his allies plan to settle things with Sabios. But where they expect to confront the Dark Captain, they instead find someone else...

"This is it…"

Summer, Yuugo and Nokia looked behind them when they noticed Ben stopped walking. The Ranger simply looked up. "What's wrong Ben?" Summer asked.

"Once we beat Sabios, this'll be over. We'll have to return to our time."

Everyone became quiet. "Oh yeah." Nokia sighed. "I guess we'll be saying goodbye to Ravio and his friends…Not only that, but once we get back, you and Summer are leaving Oblivia."

Summer looked down. "That's right…What will you guys do?"

"I'm sure father and Kamishiro Enterprises are working hard on a solution to get us home." Yuugo replied. "They'll find a way."

"So…I guess this is our last time fighting together." Summer muttered.

There was a moment of silence. Then Ben flashed a smiled. "Ya know what though? Despite all the chaos, I'm glade we could have one final adventure together."

Nokia nodded. "Heh, heh. Me too. I'm gonna miss you guys…I hope we can meet again some day."

"It's too soon to be talking about that though." Summer said. "We need to get Sabios."

"You're right Summer." Ben replied. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Ready gang?"

"Yeah!"

Entering the last section of the Dark Temple, Ben and Summer along with their new friends, Salamance and Vespiquen. Yuugo and Nokia came close behind. There was a problem, however. They spawned on an empty island with another across from them that had a WarpZone. The problem was that there was no way to reach the other island.

"I don't see a bridge or anything." Nokia said.

"No switches either." Yuugo said. "What do we do now?"

"Wait." Ben said. "I saw something like this in the Ice Temple." His eyes scanned the pit in front of him. He caught a glistening and walked toward it.

"Uh, Ben? What are you doing?" Summer asked.

Ben set his foot down over the pit. Something solid stopped it. He put his other foot over it. He seemed to be standing in the air.

"Wha-How are you doing that?!"

"Invisible floor. We can cross with this."

Summer was reluctant, but she slowly moved to the pit and nervously stepped onto the platform. Nokia and Yuugo followed.

"What is with this crazy place!?" Nokia yelled.

Ben winced and covered his ears. "It's Sabios, who knows what goes on in his mind. Anyway, let's press on."

They proceeded to the WarpZone and were teleported to another room. Moving ahead, they wound up face to face with two Haunter and a Gengar. "What are those?! Their smiles are giving me the creeps!" Nokia shuddered.

"Haunter and Gengar." Yuugo said as he looked at his Digivice. "Poison/Ghost type Pokemon."

"That bigger one is glowing." Gabumon said, pointing to Gengar.

"Sure is." Ben nodded. "Alright, you know the drill by now."

DIGIVOLUTION

"Agumon Digivolve to…Greymon!"

"Gabumon Digivolve to…Garurumon!"

"Hagurumon Digivolve to…Guardromon."

"Alright, Summer and I will catch Gengar! You guys take the other two!"

"You got it! Greymon! Garurumon!"

"Mega Flame!"

"Fox Fire!" Greymon and Garurumon shot flames at the Haunter, making them back away.

"D-Grenade." Hiding in the flames, twin misses fired by Guardromon hit both of them.

"Salamance, Crunch!" Ben's Pokemon flew over to Gengar and bit it with its sharp jaws.

Summer nudged her Pokemon. "Hey, Vespiquen, remember that trick one of your Combee used to catch me?" The Pokemon shot a blob of web on the floor nearby. "Ben! Over here!"

Ben spotted the web on the floor. "Salamance!" The dragon threw Gengar onto the web, trapping it to the floor. "Good thinking Summer!" Both Rangers spun their Stylers around the Pokemon and successfully tamed it.

Once that was done and the three Pokemon fled, Yuugo looked at the land next to theirs. Looking at the gap between them he saw a glistening. "There." He led them across the invisible foothold, and they proceeded north to the next WarpZone. The next room had a Duskull.

"What's with this place and ghosts?" Nokia whimpered.

"Don't worry." Summer said as she started twirling her Styler around it. "Small guys like this, we can calm down no problem."

"Okay, what about that angry thing over there?"

On an island across from theirs a Dusclops glared at them. "Uh…yeah. Agitated Pokemon are something else."

"Okay, fine, this one's on us. Oh boys! Do your thing!"

"Greymon! Slide Evolution! Meramon!"

"Garururmon! Slide Evolution! Dorugamon!"

"Burning Fist!"

"Power Metal!" Both of the Digimon shot projectiles that knocked Dusclops onto the ground. When it lifted its head up it looked calmer and weakened. Ben shot his Styler to fully tame it.

"Alright! If we keep this up, we'll be confronting Sabios in no time!"

They proceeded to the next island and found the seal for the red WarpZone. "You know, every time I see that I feel like it's mocking me." Ben sighed.

"We need to find more Gengar." Summer said. "Let's look around."

"Hey, look!" Nokia said. "A switch!"

"Nokia, be careful!" Yuugo warned as his friend ran off. "It might be another trap!"

"Oh, right, right. Uh, on second thought, Ben, you go activate it."

"Why me?!"

"Because you're a Top Ranger and it's not like you can let your cute partner get hurt doing it!"

Ben sighed and carefully walked over to the switch. Everyone was on guard in case another Pokemon attacked, but they heard a noise and looked south. A red platform appeared at the end of the island, attached that pointed to another Dusclops standing in mid air.

"What the heck is that?" Summer asked.

"It must lead to another invisible path." Yuugo said. "I see another island in the distance. It must lead to it."

"Should we go check it out?" Summer asked. "Although there's also that green WarpZone over there…"

"Let's check out both." Ben replied. "I'll take Yuugo and check out the path, you girls go to the WarpZone."

"Okay. See you soon."

Fei sighed as she stood in front on the infirmary. "Jeez, being on the sidelines while waiting for the others to come back from the final battle puts me on edge."

"I know what you mean." FanBeemon nodded. "Imagine how hard it is for people as impulsive as Takumi and Ami."

"Heh. Yeah."

"Hey, Fei! FanBeemon!" Ravio ran up to them waving.

Fei only sighed. "What is it now kid? You can't see Takumi and Ami. We finally got them to fall asleep."

"Ha, ha! You make it sound like you're trying to put kids to bed!"

"With their maturity right now what's the difference? Now keep your voice down."

"Sorry. By the way, have you seen Celebi? I can't find him anywhere."

"What? No, why? Worried one of Sabios's goons nabbed him?"

"No, I'm worried he might be up to some kind of mischievous stuff."

FanBeemon groaned. "Like we don't have enough to worry about."

"Well where did you see him last?" Fei asked.

"Where did I see him last? Weeeeeell…Right behind you."

"What?" Fei and FanBeemon turned around. Celibi was right behind them and glowing. "Gah! What are you-

A bright light surrounded Fei and FanBeemon and they disappeared along with Celibi. Shorty after he reappeared before Ravio.

"Ha, ha! Good work partner! Next up…"

The next room Ben and Yuugo entered contained a Gengar, a Garchomp and two Gabite.

"Okay, there's the Gengar we need." Ben said. "But those dragons will be tough. But Dragon types are strong against Dragon Types! And I got Salamance!"

"Be careful Ben, that's a double edge sword."

"I got it. You just try to wear down the Gengar. Once I'm done with those three I'll join you to catch it."

"Okay." Yuugo faced the Gengar. "Let's get our target by surprise. Try to lure it towards us."

"D-Grenade." Guardromon shot twin missiles at the ghost. It turned around to them, just as they exploded.

"Salamance, Dragon Meteor!"

Ben's Pokemon roared, and blue falling lights came down, bombarding his targets. The Dragon Type Pokemon were suffering heavy damage.

Gengar got back on its feet and saw Yuugo and Guardromon charging towards it. It whispered in its breath and ghostly gas, spawned around its opponents. Sensing danger, Guardromon swiftly grabbed Yuugo and flew around the attacks as fast as it could.

Once they were closer, Yuugo jumped off with his Digivice in hand. "Now!"

DIGIVOLUTION

"Guardromon Digivolve to…Datamon."

The small Digimon flew into Gengar and latched onto its face. "Ripping Net." Electricity flowed from its body. Ben's Styler shortly after flew in and captured it.

"Done." Ben said.

Yuugo turned to him. "The dragons?"

"Taken care of. Let's head back and wait for Summer and Nokia."

Arata and Yuuko stood in front of the gate. They had just relieved Tanvir and Kira of their watch shift.

"Bi! Bi!" Celebi flew in towards them.

"Hmm? What's with you fella?" Arata asked.

Yuuko noticed the Pokémon's best friend wasn't with him. "Huh? Where's Ravio?"

"Bi! Bi!"

"Did something happen?" Guilmon asked. "He didn't get kidnapped again, did he?!"

"That's impossible." Arata replied. "We were here this whole time. No steelheads came in and Ravio didn't get out." Celibi flew over to the center of the plaza and bounced up and down, crying out to them. Arata sighed as they approached. "Alright, alright already! What is it?"

Celebi smirked once both tamers and their Digimon were close together. It started to glow. And the light enveloped all of them.

"Hey! What are you-

In a flash they all disappeared. Shortly after Celebi returned. It looked around to make sure nobody was looking before calling out again. "Bi, bi! Bi, bi!"

"Great job Celebi!" Ravio hurried over to high five his partner. He then turned around. "Come on guys, the coast is clear!"

Summer and Nokia came to another room where they spotted a Gengar. Three Gible surrounded it.

"Let's not worry about the little guys." Summer said. "We just need the Gengar."

"But they're being controlled. We need to do something."

"We will. Once we beat Sabios, all the Pokemon in the temple will return to normal."

"She has a point Nokia." Garurumon replied.

"Yeah…I guess the sooner we do this the better."

They hurried towards the Gengar, but as soon as it saw them running towards it, the Pokemon teleported a few feet away from them.

"Hey! Come back here!"

"Nokia, don't run too far ahead!"

The girl didn't listen and kept running after the Pokemon with her Digimon following closely behind. But every time they got close Gengar just warped away.

"Come on! This is so annoying!"

"Nokia, look out!"

She stopped right before she was about to run into a blob of sand that hit the ground. She shrieked as she looked around her. While she was chasing the Gengar, the Gabite surrounded her.

"Uh, oh."

"Nokia!" Greymon and Garurumon ran to her side.

"You guys take them down!" Summer said. "I'll handle Gengar!"

Nokia reached for her Digivice. "Right. You do that."

DIGIVOLUTION

"Greymon Digiviolve to…MetalGreymon!"

"Garurumon Digivolve to…WereGarurumon!"

As the Digimon began their attack to defend their Tamer, Summer looked at the Gengar. "Okay…so if we get close it teleports away…I thought only Abra do that…I know! Staraptor, Vespiquen. I'll approach it and once it reappears, you strike. Got it?"

The Pokemon nodded.

"Okay, let's go!" Summer ran towards the Pokemon and as she predicted it teleported away. Just as it respawned, Staraptor dashed into it, knocking it over. Vespiquen shoot a net of web at it, pinning it to the ground, making it easy for Summer to capture with her Styler. "Finished."

"Same here." Nokia replied as she walked up to her with her Digimon. The Gabite laid unconscious around them.

"Let's go back and find Ben and Yuugo."

Back at the red WarpZone, Ben and Yuugo were simply standing there. Waiting. Yuugo was trying to form a plan of action when they got in. But it was hard when they had no idea what Pokemon they were going to be up against. Ben was Twitchy. Anxious for any action.

"Hey, guys!"

Ben turned around and saw Summer and Nokia running towards them. "Finally! The WarpZone's open. Now we can take Sabios down once and for all."

Nokia nodded. "Yeah! I'm gonna get him good for what he did to Takumi and Ami!"

"Let's go then." Yuugo replied. "Time for the final showdown."

They entered the WarpZone and proceeded to the elevator. It took them up to the deepest part of the Dark Temple and onto a massive arena.

"Wow. Biggest stage yet." Summer said.

"Well it would have to be big if it were to fit Sabios's big head." Ben grinned.

"Heh, heh! Good one!"

"Uh, guys?" Nokia pointed to the other end of the room. A man wearing golden armor with green hands and large horns stood there leering at them. "That isn't Sabios. Hey, mister! We're looking for Sabios! Are you his fill in? Is he out to lunch or something?"

"Wait a minute…" Yuugo eyed the man. "Golden armor…could it be?"

The man spoke up. "I am Ellios. The seeker of the new world. I was disappointed enough that Sabios had allowed the intruders to get this far. But he was outdone by a bunch of kids? What a joke."

"Ellios?!" Ben gapped. "You're…Ravio's father?!"

"You know my son? As I suspected…You must be the reason why I cannot contact him. What did you do with him?"

"Wha-We haven't done anything! You're the one who's been brainwashing your own subordinates and their Pokemon!"

"I will not deny that. But it is necessary. The power of their Pokemon and Arceus will allow us to seek out a new world. A utopia where Pokemon and mankind can live in equality and prosperity. If I make a few suffer now, then none will suffer ever again."

"But you can't just build an utopia on top of the pain of innocents!" Summer objected.

"Hmph. Children's weak minds could not comprehend what I hope to accomplish."

"All you're accomplishing is making others suffer for Sabios's games!"

"Enough!" With the swing of Ellios's hand a bolt of lightning came rushing at the group, who barely had time to move out of the way. "If you mean to oppose me, then I will have no choice but to snuff you out personally!"

"Yikes!" Summer gulped. "The other captains couldn't do that!"

MetalGreymon stood up. "Fine then! Guess we'll have to smack some sense into him!"

"No, wait!" Yuugo yelled.

Ellios eyed the Digimon. "This one can talk?" Ellios asked. "Could this be one of the "creatures" Sabios mentioned?"

"Giga Destroyer!" MetalGreymon shot twin missiles from his chest that flew towards Ellios. But the golden oracle held his hands towards them, and they glowed purple. He swung his hands upward just as they were about to hit him and they changed course, flying up to the ceiling and exploding.

"No way!" Nokia gasped. "How did…!?"

"The Forrest Captain said that that armor is above all the other oracles." Yuugo said. "This would have been a lot easier if it were Sabios fighting us here…"

"That incompetent fool has failed me for the last time." Ellios said folding his arms. "I will do what he could not."

"Go ahead and try!" Nokia said. "In the end you're just another bucket head!"

WereGarurumon jumped towards Ellios. "Wolf Claw!"

Then it happened so fast. As if out of thin air a Dusknoir appeared in front of Ellios and punched WereGarurmon out of the air.

"WereGarurumon!" Nokia ran towards her fallen Digimon.

"Where did that thing come from?!" Yuugo asked.

Ben looked at his Styler. "Dusknoir. One of the strongest Ghost Type Pokemon. It serves as a guide to the world of spirits."

"This is the strongest Pokemon this temple has to offer." Ellios said. "Be honored that you will be punished by its hands."

Dusknoir roared and shot Shadow Balls from its hands. Everyone scattered to get out of the way but MetalGreymon and Datamon were the first to get hit. Yuugo turned to Nokia. "Switch out MetalGreymon! We need faster Digimon to make this work!"

"Okay!"

"MetalGreymon! Slide Evolution! SkullMeremon!"

"Datamon. Slide Evolution. SuperStarmon."

Ellios eyed the new Digimon. "Evolution at will…"

"Capture on!" Ben and Summer shot their Stylers and they started looping around the enemy Pokemon.

"Twirling gadgets…it seems what Sabios said wasn't a complete excuse after all."

Dusknoir teleported away from the Stylers. Ellios pulled a hand back and his Pokemon mirrored his movements.

"Vespiquen! Power Gem!"

Summer's Pokemon shot shining rocks at Dusknoir. But in turn it threw pitch black razor blades that slashed through them and hit the Pokemon.

"Yikes, he's tough." Ben muttered. "We'd better play this smart."

SkullMeramon charged towards Dusknoir. "Wolkenapalm!" He threw a fiery punch, but Dusknoir dodged it and sent him flying with another Shadow Punch.

WereGarurumon ran towards it from behind. "Comet Hammer!" With one mighty punch, Dusknoir was flung across the room. SuperStarmon was ready to meet it there.

"SuperStar Uppercutt." The punch it unleashed sent the Pokemon into the air. While it was up there, Salamance and Staraptor zoomed into it a couple of times keeping it airborne. Then Vespiquen shot a thread that attached to it and threw it into Pichu who sparkled with electricity while playing his ukulele. Dusknoir was zapped before getting flung to the ground.

"Hmm. I underestimated you." Ellios admitted. "I can see why Sabios and the others were no match for you." A purple aura glowed around him. "However…I am not like the rest. I am the Golden Oracle!" He outstretched his hand towards Dusknoir. The Pokemon glowed purple as it slowly got up.

"What's he doing?" Ben asked.

"That armor…is it reenergizing Dusknoir?" Yuugo asked.

Dusknoir clutched its head in its hand and let out a pained cry.

"This armor houses not only the power to control any Pokemon, but infinite energy! I have plenty to share with Dusknoir!" Ellios boasted.

"I-infinite?!" Summer shuddered.

Dusknoir roared and in a flash was right in front of SuperStarmon, before unleashing a fury of punches, sending it to the ground.

WereGrurumon ran towards Dusknoir but it turned around and shot ominous mist from its hands that chased the Digimon. While WereGarurumon was forced to turn back to avoid it SkullMeramon tried to rush towards it. He threw a punch, but Dusknoir sunk into the ground. Only a black shadow remained.

"What the heck?! How'd he do that!" SkullMeramon looked at the shadow, but then Dusknoir rose out of it and uppercutted him so hard he flew into WereGarurumon. The shadowy mist enveloped both of them. Staraptor flew towards Dusknoir with his beak aimed at it. But the ghost caught it by the face and slammed it into the ground.

"He's too fast and strong!" Ben growled.

"Vespiquen, Tailwind!" Summer's friend Pokemon summoned a coat of wind around it, then buzzed around the Dusknoir. Once it looked like the opponent lost sight of her Pokemon Summer gave her next order. "String Shot!" Vespiquen shot another web at Dusknoir from behind. "Got him!" But then out of nowhere Ellios appeared behind his Pokemon and caught it. "How did-

"Effective strategy." Ellios admitted. "But not good enough!" He pulled the web and Vespiquen with it. He spun a few times before the webbing line slammed into Summer. Things happened so fast, the poor girl had no idea what happened as she shriek in surprise. The next thing she knew she was sitting on the floor and the web was wrapped around her arms along with her upper body from her hips to her shoulders.

When the dizziness went away she looked behind her and saw that her Vespiquen was also tied in its own web tying the two back to back. "H-how did that happen?!" Already and unfortunately familiar to the fact that there was no escaping Vespiquen's String Shot she just sat there and sighed. "No offense Vespiguen, but I'm starting to develop a deep hatred for webs."

Nokia ran over to her. "Hold on Summer, I'll get you out of there!" She pulled on the web around Summer, but it only stretched a little. Then Nokia noticed that she couldn't get her hands off the web. "Yeek! This is so sticky! Gross! My hands are stuck!" Summer groaned in exasperation.

"Summer!" Ben turned to Ellios and His Pokemon. "You're asking for it jerk! Salamance! Draco Meteor!"

Salamance roared and ascended. A glowing blue bolder descended towards Ellios and Dusknoir. It impacted with a brilliant blue light. The flash blew away the smoke that pinned down Nokia's Digimon, but they were weakened and on the ground.

"Bullseye! That'll teach…" Everyone was shocked. Ellios stood unscratched by the attack. A purple shield of light defended him. "N-no way…Salamance's strongest attack…and it didn't even hurt him! Wait…Where'd the Dusknoir go?"

Yuugo glanced behind Ben. There was a shadow that wasn't his own. "Behind you!"

Ben turned around just as Dusknoir rose up and punched him across the battlefield. Ben landed on his back a short distance from Ellios. Before he could try to get up, Ellios slammed his foot down on his chest.

Pichu charged towards Ellios, but the man simply batted him away when he pounced. Salamance flew towards Dusknoir, but it teleported behind the dragon and grabbed it by the tail. It spun it around a couple of times, before throwing it into Staraptor and they both landed on SuperStarmon.

Yuugo ran to his injured Digimon. Summer was still trapped in web with Nokia unable to let go of it. Ben was still on the ground. There was nothing any of them could do.

"Your rebellion ends here." Ellios said. "That being said for children you fought admirably…You can be far more useful than Sabios."

Ben looked up at him. "Useful?"

To Ben's surprise, Ellios took his foot off him and extended his arm. "We both want what is best for people and Pokemon, am I right? Join me. Together we can reforge this world."

Ben scoffed. "I'll pass. Making the world submit through mind control and force is hardly worth calling a utopia. Helping you would be spitting on my honor as a Pokemon Ranger!"

"Pity. If only you could see the bigger picture." Ellios's palm glowed purple and aimed at Ben. "Alais, you leave me no choice."

Summer strained against the web tying her to her Pokemon. "BEN!"

Just before Ben was hit, something green slammed into Ellios's chest. Caught off guard he stumbled back.

Summer looked up and saw a familiar Digimon. "Lillymon?!"

Ellios growled as he looked up. And as he did another Digimon rammed into him. Ben sat up. "Rapidmon!"

Yup, two-parter. Didn't think it would come to this before the Light Temple, but this came out longer then I thought it would. Look forward to the conclusion of the Dark Temple next week!
