On this night, Angelique Rumson is holding a seance at the Old House... Hoping to reunite the minds and souls of Barnabas Collins and John Jaeger with their rightful bodies, a presence of ultimate Evil has been summoned...

Angelique heard Quentin breathing heavily, and his head slumped forward onto the table. "Quentin?" she asked tentatively. Quentin chuckled, and he lifted his head up off the table. Hannah gasped as she felt electricity coming from Quentin's fingers. "Master?" Angelique whispered.

"Angelique…" The Master spoke through Quentin. "You dare to summon me here?" He looked around the table and his eyes stopped and stared at John's. "This man is in the wrong body…" he said. He turned back to Angelique.

"Master, can you switch them back?" Angelique begged.

The Master stared at her. "Of course I can…" he said matter-of-factly, "But a sacrifice will have to be made…" The Master glanced around the table at each person—and smiled evilly…

The Master settled on John. "Once you are back in your own body, you will not remember this ever happened to you." He leaned forward and smiled. John gulped. "When I send you back, do you want to remember your past? It would be so easy…" The Master snapped his fingers.

John felt as though he were drowning again, and brought his hands to his throat. "No… I'll remember on my own."

The Master chuckled and turned his attentions back on Angelique. He reached over and put some sort of red seed into the palm of her hand. Angelique glanced down at the palm of her hand, just before the black candles blew out.

Hannah's scream could be heard, and Angelique got up and hurriedly flicked the light switch on the wall. Quentin, John and Hannah each lay unconscious in their chairs…

Act One:

As her eyes adjusted to the bright artificial lighting, Angelique noticed that John was back in his own body, sitting in the same chair he was sitting in before. He began to stir, and Angelique turned her attention to Quentin.

Opening his eyes, Quentin blinked a few times and lifted his head up from the table. "What happened?" he asked, looking up at Angelique.

She stroked his dark brown curly hair. "We had a visit from my Master." She glanced at the red seed in her other hand. She closed her hand and walked around the table to Hannah.

"Hannah?" she said, shaking the black-haired woman, but she did not stir. Her body was as cold as ice. "She's dead!" Angelique announced. The Master had his sacrifice, just as he said.

Quentin noticed that John's own body was sitting in his chair instead of Barnabas' body. "John! But how…" he glanced at Angelique.

Angelique shook her head. "I assume the real Barnabas is where John's body was during the séance." Angelique surmised.

"Your Master switched them back to their rightful places…" Quentin whispered, amazed.

John groaned and opened his eyes. He sat up in his seat, holding his head. He felt like he had the World's Worst Hangover. "Quentin!" He looked with surprise to see Quentin seated to his left. "What happened to Horace?" he asked.

Angelique and Quentin glanced at each other. "You don't remember anything from the past week?" Angelique asked.

"No, nothing!" John said. He looked over at Hannah's body, slumped over at the table. "The past week! What's going on here?" he demanded…

Act Two:

After they watched the ambulance took Hannah's body away from the front door, John turned to Angelique. "Now are you going to tell me what's been happening the past week? And why I don't remember a single thing?"

Angelique hugged herself and walked back into the drawing room. Quentin was pouring his second brandy as well as brandies for the other two. "You haven't been yourself," Angelique said simply. She walked over to Quentin and took a brandy from him.

John scowled. "I haven't 'been myself'… What does that even mean, Angelique?" John demanded.

"It's best not to think about it," Quentin said with a sigh. He offered John a brandy, but he declined. Quentin shrugged and gulped his down.

"Best not to think about it!" John exclaimed. "I'm beginning to feel like I have swiss cheese for a memory—first I don't remember anything before a month ago, now I've lost a whole 'nother week!" He clenched his fists. "Angelique, I want you to tell me what happened!"

"All right, John," Angelique took a swig of brandy and set it down. She fidgeted with the red seed in her hand. "You were overtaken by a spirit—the ghost of the original Barnabas Collins who lived in this house. We managed to exorcise him from your body tonight."

"I-I don't believe it!" John said, amazed. He looked at Quentin. "I think I will have that brandy now." He turned back to Angelique. "What about Horace…"

Angelique glanced at Quentin. "He disappeared this week. His car was found on the side of the road, abandoned." John shook his head with disbelief. He felt as though he had walked into the middle of a story without reading the first few chapters.

Not wanting John to stay in the Old House any longer, Angelique spoke up as soon as John finished his brandy. "John, with everything that's happened lately, we haven't been able to finish fixing up the bookstore. Maybe tomorrow you could move into the apartment above it and…"

John scowled. "You want me to move out?" He stared at Angelique, who helplessly looked over at Quentin for help, but he only raised an eyebrow…

Act Three:

"You want me to move out?" John repeated. "Angelique, I thought we already—"

Angelique walked over to Quentin and put an arm around him. Quentin continued to drink his brandy. "Quentin and I are getting married," she explained. "And, as soon as certain matters are resolved here, were moving away from Collinsport, forever..."

John stared with disbelief. He thought of that night they had spent together after Sabrina was killed. He had been convinced that Angelique felt the same way about him as he felt for her. "Just like that…" he grinned with dismay. "I thought you felt something for me… All these weeks under this roof…"

"I'm sorry, John," Angelique apologized. "But I never told you that I cared for you any more than just a friend. Don't worry, you won't be destitute. You can live above the bookstore, rent-free. You can—"

John chuckled sarcastically. "Great, just great… I get a bookstore, and you get Quentin Collins." His eyes flashed angrily in Quentin's direction.

Quentin decided to intervene. He set his brandy glass down. "Now look, John—you don't understand… Angelique and I have known each other for years. We know each other's demons and two people could not be more suited for each other than she and I."

John turned his head and looked away from them in disgust. "John, I helped you tonight," Angelique stepped forward and put her hand on his arm. "I helped you more than you'll ever realize—but now, it is time for us to move on."

"Fine!" John angrily agreed, and started to leave the room to go upstairs. On the way out of the drawing room, he paused, noticing the wolf's head can on the coat rack, and wondered about it…

After John went upstairs, Angelique and Quentin sat down in front of the fireplace and discussed his release from jail, and their upcoming wedding. Quentin and Angelique wondered why Buffie Harrington gave him a false alibi.

As they talked, Angelique glanced down at the blood-red seed that the Master had left her…
