I apologize for not updating, but writer's block is really bad right now. I actually wrote a 100% completely different chapter 15 and finished it, but it felt sloppy so I deleted it and came up with this instead.
Should I do a Q&A? The guidelines say they're not allowed, but I've seen other fanfiction authors do them? Idk what to do here. Help me out, please. XD
This is more of a filler chapter than anything. Sorry again lol.

Tamara was being annoying for the umpteenth time today. Thomas tried his best to ignore his little sister's constant chatter, but the best he could manage was a closed-eye expression of irritation.
"Tommy. Tommy. Tommy." She kept chanting his name, as if it was part of some sort of ritual.
He cracked, "What?"
Tara, who was all the way across the room, groaned to herself.
"Whatcha doing?"
"Having my day ruined by a two-year-old who's supposed to be ten."
"I am not two! That would make you three!"
"And a half."
"Oh, whatever!" Tamara giggled, "Back to what I was actually gonna say. Are you planning on officially joining any teams yet?"
Thomas pondered this for a split-second, "No."
"Er, I thought he was already on a team." Tara murmured.
Her older twin shrugged, "I meant officially. Tommy here has only battled for them once out of the gazillion chances he's had. Ain't that right, big bro?"
"They didn't need me anyways."
His sister sighed melodramatically, "Alas, he's ditching again! Shall we help you to-"
"Tamara."
"Mm?"
Thomas tossed her a box that held a lavender cupcake, "That's how much I care right now."
Tamara didn't like lavender. She scowled at him and stuck out her tongue, "Okay, then. Fine. I'll feed this to Toodles instead."
Toodles was Tamara's pet bird. She had received it at the age of seven. He was ten times as annoying as she was, and even worse, he could repeat whatever Tamara told him to. A stupid, yet brilliant bird.
He could also digest practically anything. That was learned the hard way after they had chocolate cake for dessert. Toodles had eaten some cake, part of the paper plate, and then the weeds out in the garden. How this was even possible for a bird, Thomas had zero idea.
"Does he like lavender?"
"I dunno. If he takes after me, then I would say not."
When she merrily skipped away, Tara bit her lip worriedly, "Is she really gonna feed it to Toodles?"
He scoffed, "No, not all of it, most likely just a bite. The only stuff Tamara feeds that thing is toast and jam."
"But then where is she bringing the rest?"
"Outside. She's probably gonna leave it for the raccoons."
"Where did you even get that cupcake?" Tara inquired curiously.
Thomas paused and glanced at her amusedly, "I bought it and was originally planning on tricking Tammy into eating it, but I think this is better."
The youngest sibling shook her head and went back to watching a video.
"What're you watching?"
"The semifinalists are confirmed. It's Valt Aoi, Wakiya Murasaki, Shu Kurenai, and Orochi Ginba."
The brown-haired male caught the red sphere he had casually thrown in the air, "Kurenai? ...Oh, right, that must be the brother."
"He's one of the best in Japan, you know."
"Yeah, I know that. Wonder how this is gonna end."
Tara blinked, pushing up her black-rimmed glasses, "Shu Kurenai is the fan favorite to win the finals, and he certainly has the skills to live up to that and more."
At first, Thomas said nothing, finding the watch on his wrist very interesting. The short hand currently pointed to 4 in the afternoon. After a few moments of gentle silence, he broke it with a quiet statement.
"You know that's not what I mean...Tara."
There was no answer. The silence was not broken again.
