Nico

Nico was out hunting some monsters. He heard there was unusual hellhound activity near the border for Camp Half-Blood, so he went to investigate.

He was surrounded by around ten hellhounds, and he was already tired from shadow traveling a decent bit, so it was not looking very good for him. Nico thought that it would be only five or three, not ten, so he thought that it would be fine to shadow travel everywhere looking for them. Turns out he was wrong.

Nico fought them for a bit and got some wounds, and though they weren't too bad, they were enough to make him even more tired then he already was, which made him less powerful and even less likely to get out of that situation alive.

Nico had just enough energy to shadow travel away. He didn't even care where he ended up, so he just thought of a place that felt like home, ran over to a shadow and shadow traveled to a place that felt like home to him. What place, he did not know.

After the rush of shadow traveling, he arrived at his destination. He just caught the glimpse of something before he passed out from exhaustion.

It was a while before he woke up, around two hours. He woke up, and he opened his eyes. Nico noticed that his wounds were already bandaged up. He blinked to adjust his eyes to the lights that were on. The apartment that he was in was incredibly familiar, though he just couldn't remember why it was familiar.

He heard footsteps coming from the area that looked to be a kitchen. Nico's eyes darted to where his sword would, but it wasn't. That just put him on edge.

Nico looked back over to the entrance to the kitchen, and he saw one his best friends, Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano.

"So, Nico, care to explain why you showed up at my house unconscious and with dozens of scratches?"

"Not really. I'd rather just ask you to get me a cup of hot chocolate."

Reyna sighed at Nico's response, but she turned around to get him some hot chocolate. She came back into the room after a little bit with two cups of hot chocolate in her hands. Reyna set the cups down on the table by the sofa that Nico was sitting on and she sat down next to him.

"There, you have your hot chocolate. And now you have to explain, so get to it Neeks."

"I can't even enjoy the hot chocolate? Rude. Anyways, there was some weird hellhound activity near the border, so I went to go track the hellhounds down and kill them. I thought there would only be five or four, turns out though, that there were around ten. Ten hellhounds aren't easy to fight off."

Reyna sighed in annoyance at Nico.

"Why would you go after hellhounds by yourself? You could have at least brought someone with you, in case it was a lot of hellhounds, but no, you went off by yourself, even though you had no idea how many there would be. You need to stop doing stupid shit like that or you're going to get yourself killed."

"I was fine, I didn't die, did I? I can handle some hellhounds myself."

"Nico, you barely managed to shadow travel here, you passed out immediately after and you had dozens of scratches. Next time you go off to check out some monster activity, call me, and I'll come help, or you can go alone, then I will track you down, kill you and then bring you back and lecture you about safety for two hours."

"Gods, fine Reyna, I'll take you with me next time."

"Great. Now drink your hot chocolate before it gets cold and I'll start a movie that we can watch together while you wait until you're strong enough to shadow travel back to camp."

Reyna picked up the remote for the remote for the TV and started a random Disney movie. Nico picked up his hot chocolate and took a sip, set it back down and looked over at Reyna.

"Too late. It's cold."

"It wouldn't have gotten cold if you just asked me to check out the hellhounds with you."

"Oh shut up RARA, the movie is starting."

And that's it, hope you enjoyed, bye now.
