[Forks, November 26th, Friday]

Jace and Jasper stopped off at the old Cullen house, grabbing the hummer before pulling up at the station. They got out and walked in. Charlie was already at his desk at seven in the morning. He looked up at Jace and Jasper when they walked in.

"Hey boys. You ready to look at the crime scenes?" Charlie asked as he stood up.

"Yes sir." Jace said and the three went outside. "We'll follow behind Sheriff."

Charlie nodded and ducked down in his cruiser, while Jace and Jasper got into the Hummer. They followed Charlie out towards the crime scene, Jasper was driving.

"So, Bella wants to Facetime me today, and casually drop the news that I'm her boyfriend to her dad." Jace said with a sigh.

Jasper chuckled. "Oh boy. This is going to be an interesting day."

"Tell me about it," Jace said and looked around out the window at his surroundings. "This is a small town. Valentine can't have too many hiding places when it comes to this area."

"Hmm. I haven't picked up his scent, but I do smell demons. It's faint, so they're not around," he said, and they stopped behind Charlie, and got out of the hummer and followed him towards the crime scene tape.

Jace looked around the area, scanning the trees. "Hmm." He said and looked at Jasper. "That's a higher vantage point." He pointed out.

Jasper nodded. "We're standing downwind too."

They walked around, looking at the ground. Shoe prints were evident, and they were larger than average. Raveners were not at the crime scene now, but Jace knew that they would be out when the sun fell from the sky.

"What are you thinking?" Charlie asked, his hands perched on his hips as he surveyed the area too.

Jace was about to say something when his phone rang. It was Bella wanting to Facetime him. He ignored it. "Well, I believe-"

Jasper's phone rang. He looked at Jace and smirked. He pulled it out of his pocket and answered. "Hey darling." He said with a smile.

Charlie looked over at Jasper and heard Bella's voice.

"Jasper, is he there with you?" She asked.

"He is. We're on a crime scene right now." Jasper responded.

"I called his phone, he didn't answer. I was worried." Bella's face did look worried.

Jace sighed and walked over. "Hey babe. We're at the crime scene right now. Maybe we can do this-"

Charlie walked over, confused. He looked at the phone. "Bells?"

"Dad," Bella said, sighing. "You are there with the guys. Okay."

Charlie frowned. "Yes. Why are you calling Jasper?"

Jace cleared his throat. "Bella and I are dating, sir."

"Dad?"

Charlie looked at Jace and then back at the phone. "Did you know what his job is?"

"Yes dad. FBI, it's okay." Bella said, her face soft now.

Jace took Jasper's phone and took a couple steps away. "Babe, why don't I call you back later. We have a lot of work to do right now. I love you okay?"

"I'm sorry," She frowned.

"No, don't be sorry. I wasn't expecting your call until later in the morning. You've been sleeping in lately."

"Yeah, but I got sick this morning, so I was up. I love you. Please be careful." Bella said and then ended the video call.

Jace tossed Jasper his phone back to him. "Call Simon. Tell him to get in touch with Jake and then meet with Newton at headquarters."

Jasper nodded, catching his phone, and stepping off to give Jace privacy with Charlie to make his call.

"You and my daughter are dating," Charlie said, coming to stand beside him. "Did you know who I was when you walked into the station?"

Jace looked at Charlie. "Bella told me that her father was a cop. That he lived in Forks. I knew who you were when we came here."

Charlie nodded. "Why didn't you tell me that you two were dating?"

"Bella wanted to tell you herself. I promised I wouldn't interfere. I was here on strictly business, so…I try to keep that…"

"Separate…" Charlie finished his sentence.

Jace nodded. "Yes sir."

"She said you two were serious. Really serious. Are you planning on marrying her?" Charlie asked point blank.

"Yes. I haven't asked her yet. There's…a lot going on, and I don't want her to think that I'm just marrying her because…" He looked down and sighed. "I really love your daughter Sheriff, I want to protect her from the world, and I want to make a life with her. She's my everything." Jace breathed the last part.

Charlie nodded. "You're a good guy. I can tell. Bella has been through a lot."

"I know. I'm not going to abandon her or cause her any pain. I really seriously love her. She wants to come visit in a couple weeks. I spoke to her just before I got shipped here. She is missing you, and we do have big news that she wants to tell you in person." Jace said.

"She's pregnant." Charlie said it as a statement and not a question. "That's the only thing that makes sense that's so important for her to tell me in person. How far along?"

"Thirteen weeks. We find out in two weeks what we're having," Jace said, looking down at the ground.

Charlie reached out and patted his shoulder and smiled. "Congrats then. You're going to be a father. That's the best experience you'll ever get the privilege of having. It's also the scariest," He said with a little laugh.

Jace smiled. "Yes. It's sort of terrifying, but we're both really excited." He said. His mind went to when she was kidnapped by Valentine, how scared he felt for not just Bella, but for their unborn child.

Jasper returned to the group. "Okay, spoke with Simon. Everything is clear on their side." He tensed suddenly and looked towards the trees.

Jace took notice and then nodded. "Alright. Let's get back to the station." He said to Charlie.

Charlie nodded, and went to his cruiser and got inside. He let out a sigh. Bella fell in love with someone who's profession was dangerous. Renee left him for that reason after not being able to deal with it anymore. He only hoped that Bella could handle it.

Jasper and Jace got in the hummer. "The trees. Raveners. We need to get Charlie back to the station. I text Aly to go around with Simon to handle the Raveners. They shouldn't have too much issue, there's two of them. "Jasper said as he pulled away from the crime scene behind Charlie.

"Yeah, shouldn't give them too much issue." Jace said and glanced up at Magnus who was standing outside the station. He got out when Jasper stopped. "What's wrong?"

Magnus looked up at Jace and Jasper, and then to Charlie.

Charlie raised a brow. "Hello?"

"This is Magnus Bane. He's a specialist we use from time to time," Jasper explained quickly. He was good at thinking up stuff on the fly.

Magnus nodded. "Yes. A specialist. Jace, I need you for a few quick moments. Jazz, it'll only be a few moments." He winked and took Jace by his arm and led him away so Charlie couldn't hear the conversation.

Charlie shook his head. "Pretty eccentric guy," he commented on Magnus' appearance.

Jasper shrugged. "You should see some of the agents," He said with a smirk.

"Valentine. He's here in Washington. He's in Forks. I was able to get some help from some…well, we'll talk about that later. He's here, and the Raveners are just the beginning. I believe we're going to need to bring the cavalry." Magnus explained.

Jace nodded. "Aly and Simon are taking care of the two Raveners that Jasper spotted in the trees near the first crime scene. Do you know how big his army is?"

"My little friends tell me it isn't good." Magnus said and then looked past Jace towards Jasper and Charlie, who were talking about the other crime scenes. "That's Bella's dad?"

Jace nodded. "Yeah. He's a nice guy," he sighed. I just want to-" He got cut off when Magnus moved him forward suddenly as an arrow flew through the air. "The fuck?"

Magnus frowned. "He's already started. Get Charlie inside the station. Alert the others, I'll alert the Institutes. We need to move this out of the public eye." He said and Jace nodded, rushing back towards Jasper and Charlie. Jasper was already taking cover with Charlie.

"What's going on? Are we getting attacked?" Charlie said as they managed to get inside. "What about your friend?"

"He'll be okay. Trust me Charlie. Jasper I need you to keep Charlie inside. I have to go back up Magnus."

Jasper nodded but Charlie grabbed Jace's arm. "Wait, let me help Jace, I don't want you to be in danger."

"I'll be okay. Please just trust me on this. I can handle this. Jasper, please." Jace said, looking up at Jasper.

Jasper grabbed Charlie's arm. "Come on. Jace is special forces remember. He can handle this with Magnus." He guided Charlie deeper into the station.

Jace turned and walked out the door, pulling his stele from his pocket and then using it to uncloak his runes. He used the speed and strength rune and went with Magnus towards the trees that surrounded the back part of the station. Raveners were in the trees, as well as other types of demons. It was day out, and they were being brave, subjecting themselves to the light and not staying to the shadows. Jace took his seraph blade out and started slashing, Magnus was using energy blasts to hold them back.

Jasper pulled his phone from his pocket, dialing Simon. When Simon answered. "We need backup now. Tell Newton to alert Penhallow. It's going to be bad. I'm calling Jocelyn."

"Roger. See you in a few." Simon said and hung up.

Jasper called Jocelyn next. "Jocelyn, we have a major problem."

"I see on the screen, it's lit up. I'm sending reinforcements. We're using the Institute portal to get our people on the ground in Portland. Who's all with you?" Jocelyn's voice held a sort of authority to it.

"Magnus and Jace have made contact. We're waiting on the rest to show. I'm at the Sheriff's station with Sheriff Swan, and a few of his deputies. Ma'am, what do you need me to do?" He asked, looking at Charlie.

"Tell Sheriff Swan that everything is going to be okay. We'll handle this. Him and his men need to stand down and wait for direct orders from me." Jocelyn said quickly.

Jasper nodded and looked at Charlie. "My…boss, said to stand down. We'll handle this."

Charlie frowned. "I can help. I know there's not very many of us here at the station, but we want to protect this town."

"I understand that Charlie, but you'll only get in our-"Jasper cut off when a demon burst into the station. "Damnit," He dropped his phone, and threw himself into battle, tackling the demon and pulling out of the doors of the stationhouse and ripping him apart.

Charlie stood in shock. He had never witnessed something like that. Then Alice flashed in from nowhere, Simon, and a bunch of others with her.

"Jasper, Jake and the pack are heading up over on the east side. I still haven't been able to see…" Alice said quickly.

Simon looked towards the trees. "Jazz, I'm gonna back up Jace and Magnus. Aline is sending group men quickly."

Jasper nodded, dusting himself off. "Jocelyn is sending men as well through the portal at the other institute. We need to move this away from the town and fast."

Alice looked over at a paralyzed Charlie. "Oh Charlie…" She said and walked over to him, her hands on his face. "Listen, there is way too much to explain right now. Please…"

"Alice, what is happening?" Charlie asked her, his face dropping into a serious one.

"A war Charlie, and we're trying to stop it. Please go inside the station and lock yourself and the deputies in the safe room. Bella will be sad if you get hurt in all this mess." Her voice was soft.

Jasper sent calming waves towards Charlie to calm him down. "Listen to my wife Charlie. It's okay."

Charlie nodded, retreating into the station, and listening to Alice and Jasper.

"Well, that's going to be a hard talk." Alice said and sighed. "Let's get moving."

After about an hour, reinforcements made it to Jace and the crew. Alec flew into battle beside his parabatai. They eased the warring demons backwards into the mountain, farther away from the town, so there wouldn't be too much of a commotion.

The demons kept spilling in, Shadowhunters were starting to wear down. Clary kept back to back with Iz, fighting along side her, trying to keep up.

Sebastian Verlac, the new Shadowhunter sent from London was there with them, and he was a character. He was tall with bright blonde hair, and dark blue eyes. He backed Jace quickly, coming to his aide a few times.

Suddenly the demons started retreating. "What's happening?" Clary called.

Jace shook his head, panting, blood smeared over him. "I'm not sure. They're retreating."

Alec wiped his face with the back of his hand. "Well, let's send a team to follow. They're retreating somewhere."

Jace nodded and turned. "Sebastian, Coop, Jake, Aly, Alec, and Simon come with me to follow. Jasper you're second. Regroup, get with Newton, and be ready to come to battle when we call."

Jasper nodded and pulled back. "Mike, round everyone up. Let's count our wounded."

"I'll go with you," Magnus said and left with Jace and his team to follow the retreating demons.

[Deep in the Mountains]

The group followed the demons back to the mountains, there were a series of caves that were pouring in to. Valentine made an appearance, standing on the cliffside. Stood next to him was a dark-haired young man, his eyes a piercing blue.

"Jonathan. The cup isn't here, but our plan is working." Valentine commented.

'Jonathan' crossed his arms. "Yes father. When will my sister's make an appearance?"

"Soon son." Valentine said with a smile.

Jace looked at Alec, frowning. What did Valentine mean by that? He motioned for the others to gather closer, and they stayed hunkered down.

"Jace Wayland, I know you're there with your merry band of misfits." Valentine spoke, his eyes searching the trees.

Jace looked at Alec. "I have to confront him."

Alec put a hand on his arm to stop him. "Wait. You can't go by yourself."

"I'll go with him." Sebastian said, and Alec studied him for a few moments and then nodded.

Jace and Sebastian stood and stroll out into the open. Valentine looked down at the duo and smiled. "Ah, Sebastian Verlac." Valentine commented.

Jonathan looked at the two of them and an easy smirk played on his face. "Father, your plan seems to be working greatly."

Valentine nodded and smiled. "Hello Jace."

"What is it you want? You have me out here in the open." Jace barked out.

"Hmm. Well, you're just the bait." Valentine said with a wink.

Sebastian then moved, bringing a seraph dagger around and pushing it into Jace's side. Jace's eyes went wide with shock as Sebastian leaned forward. "I'm sorry, but please trust me." He murmured in Jace's ear quickly.

Alice and Simon moved quick since they were vampires. Alice was beginning to get frustrated with her abilities failing her again. The pair started ripping into Valentine's men. It wasn't long before Alec sprang into action, lunging at Sebastian. Sebastian moved quickly, parrying Alec's blows.

Jonathan and Valentine watched from up on the cliffside as the battle ensued. Valentine was shocked that vampires had shown up. He hadn't anticipated that alliance fully.

Then Jasper was there, along with a large group of Shadowhunters. They weren't far from where Valentine was hiding out in the first place. He planted himself in front of Valentine and Jonathan, making the duo stumble backwards as his sudden appearance was not expected either.

"Valentine Morgenstern and Jonathan Morgenstern." Jasper spoke, his eyes were dangerous, and it was clear that the God of War was present now. "Your crimes against Shadowhunters has drawn the attention of more downworlders than you know."

Magnus was on scene too, grabbing Jace up quickly, and portaling out with him at Alec's command.

[The Institute]

Magnus brought Jace to the infirmary, Carlisle was there checking on one of the shadowhunters that had been injured earlier on. He moved quick, helping Magnus get Jace on the bed. Blood oozed out of his wound. "Fix him." Magnus ordered and then turned, running into Jocelyn.

"What happened?" She asked quickly as her eyes landed on Jace.

"I'm not sure. I wasn't there when it happened. I must get back Jocelyn. There is a full out war." Magnus said and went around Jocelyn and was gone again.

Jocelyn looked at Carlisle. "Will he be okay?"

Carlisle's eyes glued to hers, his hands still moving quick to stop the bleeding. "I'm unsure right now. It's best that you get Bella."

Jocelyn nodded and left, finding Bella in her room.

Bella looked up at Jocelyn as she entered. Bella set her book down on the nightstand. "Oh hey, is everything okay?"

Jocelyn looked down. "Um. Bella, you need to come to the infirmary. I need you to remain calm, but Jace is hurt."

Bella shot out of bed, moving quickly towards her door. "What happened?" She asked as she walked with Jocelyn quickly towards the infirmary.

"He was hurt, that's all I know. Magnus wasn't there when he went down." Jocelyn relayed.

Bella's eyes fell over Jace as she stood in the doorway of the infirmary. She moved towards him. Carlisle had stapled Jace's wound to close the wound. She took her stele from her pocket and went to him, going to his side and drawing a rune, one that Jocelyn wasn't familiar with.

The rune glowed, casting a golden hue over Jace, and then his color returned, and the gash was completely gone. Jace coughed, his eyes flying open, a brilliant golden color still, but there was just…more gold in his eyes than normal.

Bella leaned in, kissing him on the lips, tears streaming down her face. Jace's arm wound around her, holding her to him as his lips kissed her back, devouring her.

"I'm okay," He murmured, leaning his forehead against hers. "I need to get back to the others."

It was just a few moments later that Magnus portaled in, Jasper with him, who had a restrained Valentine. Simon was with him with Jonathan.

Jocelyn was shocked as her eyes landed on Valentine and her…son. "How?" Everyone else had moved to follow the sound, standing in the command center.

Jasper looked past Jocelyn to Jace. "You're good?" He called to Jace.

Jace nodded. "Sebastian told me to trust him as he stabbed me. Is Sebastian okay?"

Jasper nodded. "He is. I apologize that you didn't know about this plan before hand, but we had to come up with a distraction. I caught Valentine's scent as you went off with Alec. I managed to organize quickly. Sebastian was the plant." His eyes went to Jocelyn. "And it worked."

Jocelyn nodded and looked at Jace. "I am sorry. Sebastian's double agent status was kept secret and-"

Jace held up a hand. "No need to apologize Jocelyn. I understand the need."

Magnus blinked back in with a portal with Alec and the rest of the gang. "Newton is taking point in Forks. He's getting some stuff cleaned up with the help of the Quileute wolves."

Alec went to Jace, throwing his arms around him in a large embrace.

Jace hugged Alec back, smiling. "I'm good. Where's Sebastian?"

Sebastian moved, going towards Jace, and then Jace pulled away from Alec and hugged Sebastian, surprising everyone. "I'm sorry mate, I didn't have time."

Jace slapped his back. "It's okay. Jocelyn and Jasper explained.

Valentine made a hmph sound and Jocelyn's eyes snapped back to him.

Bella looked at Valentine. She was obviously very pregnant now, and she pushed her way to stand there and look at him.

Valentine's eyes landed on Bella, looking down over her belly. The look of shock was apparent on his face, and then his brows furrowed. "Isabella, you are with child…"

"Yes. I am," Bella said simply. She gave him a hard look. Then Clary was there with her, she clasped her hand with Bella's and then a bright light emerged from their tangled hands. A light shimmered over the both of them and then around Valentine.

"What is this?" Valentine said, a panicked tone to his voice.

The light brightened, and the others shielded their faces as the light enveloped Clary, Bella, Valentine, and Jonathan.

Valentine and Jonathan let out strangled cries, as the light devoured them. When the light dimmed, Clary and Bella stood there. A rune had appeared on the forehead of both Bella and Clary. It was already starting to fade.

Clary pulled Bella to her as she felt her sister sway. Valentine and Jonathan were gone.

Jocelyn looked around, confused, as did everyone else, bearing witness to this. "What happened?"
Clary and Bella looked at each other and Clary was the one to answer. "He has to answer to the angel himself for their actions. Valentine and Jonathan were taken by Raziel himself."

There were a bunch of gasps around the room. Then Bella was fainting. Jace rushed to her, catching her in his arms before she hit the ground. He moved with her to the infirmary and lay her on the bed as Carlisle checked on her, checking on the baby and discovering the heartbeat was stronger than ever, and that everything else about her was just fine.

"IS she going to be okay?" Jace asked, obvious panic on his face.

"She's fine, the baby is fine. It's the rune's affect. She'll wake up when she's ready," Carlisle said with a smile.

Jace sat next to her, taking her hand in his and waited beside her for her to wake up.
