Chariot Rides

Ryland Fields 13 District 9

I've never been so mad in all my life! How dare they humiliate me like that! How dare they take off all my cloths, scrub me, dress me up like some idiot! I'm literally dressed like a bushel of wheat! They covered my face in makeup to hide my bruises! I'm so angry.

I march towards my chariot and join Clara. I give her the death stare, I can see her trying not to laugh. Does she think this is funny!

She opens her mouth to speak.

"Don't even think about it," I warn her.

She turns back to face the chariot. She probably hates my guts, I can tell.

I yank one of the pieces of corn off.

"What is this shit!?" I shout as I throw the it on the ground in anger.

Cassius 30

I approach where Tiberius is sitting, he is facing the crowds below almost like a king. I hand him his drink and prepare to leave.

"Stay," he orders.

I take a seat next to him in preparation for the tribute parade, facing through the glass.

"You don't want to miss the tributes now do you?"

I shake my head.

"Of course not."

The crowds begin cheering as District 1s chariot comes rolling out. Both tributes look amazing with suits of armour, encrusted with various shining gems and a golden cloak. The six-foot career boy is standing there looking very proud and honourable with his messy platinum blond hair styled to make it look slightly less messy. He seems to be the perfect career. His bulky district partner has a big smile on her face and is waving at every single person she sees. They definitely look like a promising pair.

Next is the District 2 chariot appears, with both tributes dressed as gladiators. The outfit doesn't get the crowds going quite as much as District 1s so, the huge, muscular District 2 boy takes his blond District partner in his arms and gives her a kiss on the lips. This seems to send the crowd wild with excitement at the couple. I've never seen a couple enter the games before so this could be a huge dramatic selling point for it.

The crowds aren't as excited for the first non-career chariot. They are dressed in wires that are tangled around their bodies. The boy is tall but extremely lanky, I think that the District 2 boy would easily snap him in half like a twig. The girl on the other hand seems to be having a panic attack! Jumping up and down and covering her ears. She is completely freaking out! Members of the crowds are now pointing and laughing at the small girl.

District 4s costume is quite striking with the boy being dressed as a merman and the girl as a mermaid. The boy is tall with brownish blond hair like many from District 4, his costume consists of only a fish tail covering his bottom half. He has clear muscles defining him however he's nowhere near as bulky as the District 2 boy. The girl has a similar costume only she has a turquoise garment to cover her chest. She has thick, dark brown hair which has been straightened after being washed and a similar amount of muscle to her District partner. The boy seems to be glaring at the District 2 chariot, so he attempts to kiss his District partner like the District 2 boy did however it backfires and she quickly slaps him in the face.

District 5s chariot reveals the tributes wearing a bright silver glowing suit. It is another older lanky boy with a slightly younger girl, with her wavy brown hair falling to the middle of her back. The boy seems to look sarcastically shocked as he appears in front of the crowd, placing his hand on his heart. As the crowds begin to cheer for him, he puts both his middle fingers up to everyone! Smiling as he does it! The poor girl seems mortified and is trying to apologise to everyone for him.

District 6s chariot comes out next. It has two younger tributes this year, who look about 14. The boy looks pretty small and weak with black hair and brown eyes while the girl has an average appearance for her age. She has long brown hair, naturally straight, that goes down to a bit above her waist, and sparkly brown eyes to match. Her face is spotted with a few freckles and she has pale skin. She looks a little shaken up, possibly from the session with the stylists, the boy also looks little scared to be paraded in front of everyone. They are both dressed in a smart blue pilots uniform to match each other and the crowd seems to like them.

District 7s chariot contrasts massively with District 6s. There is a huge boy towering way above any of the other tributes, he is waving happily while his District partner doesn't seem quite as thrilled. She has dark ginger hair, fairly pale skin and no freckles that I can see. Her hair reaches down to her mid back and is quite thick and is mostly straight with a few loose waves. She has pale blue eyes and an angular face. She is tall and slender but with lots of arm muscle where I guess she chops logs or whatever they do in District 7. Their outfits resemble bark to look like a tree.

Two younger tributes are in the District 8s chariot. This time they are both dressed in rainbow coloured patterns with a skin tight suit. The boy is short and quite thin, his pale skin seems to have gone red from anxiety and his eyes are fixed downwards. He is fidgeting with his hands as well. His District partner seems to take notice of his nervousness, she takes him by the hand and lifts his arm up. This is met by applause from the crowd, he manages a slow wave shortly after.

Next is District 9s chariot with a girl towards the higher end of the age bracket while the boy is at the lower end. The girl looks very neat with her nearly auburn hair tied into a bun. She looks extremely upbeat and welcoming of all the attention despite their humorous outfit, dressed as a piece of corn. The opposite is true for her District partner who is standing there with his arms folded looking extremely mad. He is quite small and think with floppy brown hair.

District 10s chariot has two very different tributes in them as well. The girl looks to be 12, she has her blond hair tied in braids with pale skin and big blue eyes. All she is appears to be doing is drawing in a sketchbook without even acknowledging what's going on around her. Her District partner on the other hand appears to be very embarrassed, he is dressed as a cow and his body is covered in mud. He has wavy brown hair, grey eyes and a tight jawline.

We are getting towards the end of the parade now with District 11s chariot. The boy seems like a couple of years older than the girl in this case He is tall, muscular and kind of intimidating. She is wearing her black hair in box braids. They both seem kind of mellow, refusing to smile or wave at the crowd but then that is normally the case for the last few Districts. They are both wearing a vibrant gold coloured suit, a bit similar to the crops in their District.

Lastly there is District 12s chariot. While the girl looks like she is trying to contain her anger and is ready to burst at any time, the boy is just giggling to himself in a somewhat sadistic way which is a bit unsettling even for me. The boy is much younger than his District partner and has basically no muscle, with brown messy hair and brown eyes. The girl has a toned frame with dark brown hair. They are dressed as coal miners.

Soon all the chariots disappear, I turn to Tiberius.

"Personally, I'm putting my money on the big guy from District 2," I say

I storm off the chariot in my annoying mermaid outfit. Rick is following me, I spin round to him in anger. He is still rubbing his cheek from where I hit him! Good, I hit him as hard as I could!

"What the hell were you thinking?!" I yell.

"What? It seemed to work from District 2," he replies still smiling.

"Don't ever try anything like that again!" I snarl.

I turn back around to get out of there! Man I can't stand boys sometimes!
