Braska reached for the staff, and I gladly gave it to him. That is when Auron spoke up, distracting Braska.
"Are we getting this Aeon, Lord Braska?" Braska looked up and realized that he was just standing there looking at the staff. I chose that time to head to the antichamber before the fayth.
It seemed the others followed me because when i got on the lift to go on, they slipped on beside me.
"So what is next?" Jecht huffed and I told him that the antichamber was just ahead. The lift started lowering us down and I was already bored. And Braska hadn't even started talking to the fayth yet.
When we hit the bottom floor, we entered the chamber and spread out. Braska. headed in to address the Fayth, while I found a place to sit down. I couldn't stand or sit on the ground anymore, so Lulu's future perch seemed the best option.
And we waited. I hated all that Yevon was but I knew if I changed the timeline, Yuna's future would change as well. As well as Braska's. Gods above this was hard! I wanted to save Braska from death, but I couldn't. Not that it would matter. He would follow his path, and that was his choice.
I was so deep in thought, I didn't see Braska exit the Chamber of the Fayth. It wasn't until I felt his hand on my shoulder that I realized it was time to go.
As soon as we exited the trials, we were surrounded by people wanting to see the aeon. We headed out of the temple where a circle was. Braska stood in the center as I ushered the kids far enough away.
Braska looked at me and as soon as the kids were far enough away, I gave him a nod. His way of summoning was beautiful. With a last twirl of his staff, Valefor appeared.
Valefor swooped down and Braska stepped up to pet it. The kids couldn't contain themselves any longer and pushed their way to Braska and Valefor.
Valefor seemed to know what the kids wanted, and obliged. After they all had a turn petting Valefor, Braska dismissed it. I then walked over to Braska and gave him a hug. He turned his face to me and cupped my face. He wanted a kiss! I laughed and kissed him.
I knew he had one other main aeon to get, and that was Shiva at Macalania Temple. So we were heading out the next day. As much as I didn't want to go, Braska's resolve was strong.
"When our child is born, will you bring Yuna here to Besaid to grow up?" Braska asked me that night. I wasn't sure if I could, and told him so. His face fell.
"If I can bring Yuna to Besaid, I will." I hurriedly told him. "If not, I am sure that I will meet her here." He slowly nodded, then lay down next to me. We were asleep in minutes.
