(Narrator POV)

As Danny felt himself break away into atoms and molecules, he couldn't help but feel bothered by the fact that he was putting Sam's life in danger by not obeying Freakshow, not even checking how she would feel about it, just doing it. Sure they have had their differences in the past, with her being upset by the fact that it was Star who had gotten him out of his funk and not her, but holding a grudge over it was a bit excessive.

'I'll make things right between us, if it is not too late.' Determinedly declared Danny, though he could feel it at the edge of his mind, something that had been increasingly getting stronger and more tempting with each moment he saw Freakshow, to give in to the urges of [Berserker].

Within a second Danny blinked as he found himself inside of a circus tent, Lydia with her many tattoos held Sam by the neck, both of their eyes widening as they saw the teen materialize in front of them. Freakshow and a second Ghost appeared beside Lydia a moment later, a scowl on the former's face as he stared at Danny.

"Let her go." Softly whispered Danny, stretching out both of his arms as he trembled, the urges to just give in and not be the perfect hero for once was there, and Danny was well aware of the twisted smile on his face. "And I promise... you'll be able to walk away once you have healed." Frostily stated Danny, unaware of the effect he was having on the surrounding area, as frost and ice were forming anywhere they could take a hold of and even the clouds overhead started darkening.

"Lydia, please hand the girl over to me." Idly ordered Freakshow, pulling out a knife from his ringmaster jacket, and held it up to Sam's neck the second the girl was within range of him.

Sam's eyes widened, just when she had decided that she had been acting childish towards Danny and trying to make amends with him, she had to get kidnapped by a Ghost, who was working with someone who could control Ghosts. The situation became very real to her the second she had her mouth gagged, her arms tied up, and a knife held at her throat, since this wasn't like any other Ghost fight.

Humans had the potential to be such vile and disgusting creatures, causing harm to others just for their own benefit and amusement, just so they could grow a bit richer, a bit more powerful in the world. Danny's teeth grinded against each other, ectoplasm started gathering in his hands, only for Freakshow to apply a bit more pressure to the knife, causing a faint trail of blood to drip down Sam's neck.

"One little move that puts me in danger will end the girl's life, hero." Coldly snarled Freakshow, letting go of his breath and widening his eyes when he could see it, only just realizing how cold it was. 'An ice core?' Logically concluded Freakshow, knowing that his options were rapidly becoming limited, since Phantom was releasing a massive amount of ectoplasm as cold as ice, letting everyone know that some paranormal activity was happening.

Which would result in the entire place being infested by Ghost Hunters and GIW members, meaning Freakshow's business would be over in no time at all.

'May as well show him he shouldn't have messed with me.' Grimly concluded Freakshow, bracing himself for what he was about to do, as he could feel the girl starting to struggle, as Phantom stared at him, eyes dull, showing no emotion. "I see what you're trying to do, Phantom, letting everyone know where you are and have your friends come to help, but unfortunately, I cannot let this slide." Sickly cackled Freakshow, yanking his arm inwards, watching as a shower of blood erupted from the wound.

Freakshow let the girl go, watching as she fell to the ground, the knife still lodged in her, though Freakshow noticed that it was in her chest, realizing that Phantom must have used telekinesis to do that. Taking a few steps towards Lydia, ready to teleport at a moment's notice, he watched as Phantom desperately scrabbled over towards the girl's body.

"No, no, no, no." Softly chanted Danny, gently picking up and holding Sam, who was quickly becoming colder and colder to the touch, basic first aid training came to mind, and he didn't remove the knife, since that was what was keeping her blood in.

Kneeling on the ground, tears started streaming down his face as he desperately clung to Sam, who now had blood dripping down from the stab wound in her chest. Danny was uncaring of anything at that current moment in time, everything felt dark and cold like nothing mattered at all except getting revenge.

Ḳ̶̡̭͕̮͚̆̓́̅͊̋̎͜i̸͖͔̝̤̱̥̜͙̬̇͑̀͋̿l̴͚͚̗̀̈̉̀l̶͇̙̟͔̞̯̱̗̈́̉̕ͅ ̷̰̞͇̼͇͖̼̐̿̎̅̒ẖ̴̛̹̪̤̭̎́͌̏ī̴̖͉̲ḿ̸͚̭̬͓̮̙̇̍̂

Slowly Danny's ectoplasm started darkening, the Halfa's body went limp a second later, causing Sam to slowly roll to the ground, showing off her rapidly palling face to the world.

"FREAKSHOW!" Furiously screeched Danny, normally beautiful green eyes glowing a shade of red that could only be called bloody, as he could feel his emotions molding his body, as [Spectral Body Manipulation] allowed them to actually do so. "I promise when I say this..." Gently whispered Danny, staring down Freakshow as only one thought passed through Danny's mind, as tears continued streaming down his face, a twisted smile of glee clearly on his face as he opened his mouth.

"I am going to kill you." Softly mumbled Danny, the words echoing around the circus tent, as his hair erupted into a mountain of flames, looking more and more similar to Dan Phantom with each passing moment.

Shakily standing back on his feet, with a small layer of ice crawling over Sam's chest, temporarily sealing the wound, Danny stood still as his flaming hair gently flickered in a breeze, while his razor teeth and pointed ears only became more and more prominent. Freakshow tapped Lydia's elbow, silently telling her that now would be a good time to leave since his main focus would be saving the girl.

Freakshow blanched as he saw Phantom disappear from sight, Lydia disappeared a split second later as well, a lick of white flame was the only reason he knew that Lydia hadn't run away in fear, Phantom had caught her. Taking a step backward, Freakshow jumped as Lydia appeared in front of him again, kneeling over, hiding her front half away from him.

"You picked the wrong guy to anger, Freakshow." Lowly growled Phantom, making himself known behind Freakshow, making the man whirl around, gasping as he saw the changes that Phantom had undergone.

Gone were the normal soft white hair and green eyes, now a pair of blood-red orbs stared him down, with wild, flaming, white hair billowing above his head, swirling and roaring angrily. Phantom's ears had become more elongated as well, with two small fangs protruding over his lower lip, and the most prominent change was the deathly white skin.

He hadn't gained any height or muscles, but the borderline black ectoplasm certainly made Freakshow feel like he was being stared down by someone entirely different. Gone was the goofy hero that protected Amity Park with every fiber of his being, in his place stood a berserker, who was focused on one thing only, revenge.

"You tried to kill my Sam, so I'll try and kill you." Wickedly snarled Phantom, he was so much worse than any other Ghost Freakshowhad ever met, wicked, twisted, cruel, and above all else, focused on one simple task. "But unlike Sam, you don't have anyone as strong as me defending you." Loudly roared Phantom, his ectoplasm flaring as he started floating, a moment later, Phantom was in front of Freakshow with his hand around the latter's neck.

Activating [Intangibility], Danny didn't have any other thoughts enter his mind, as he phased through the roof of the tent, showing Freakshow the grey clouds that had gathered overhead, with the soft snow falling down towards the ground. Green arcs of energy danced along Danny's body as he used [Ecto-Enhancement], his muscles bulging as he flung his arm upward, watching as Freakshow kept the momentum.

A small sonic boom followed Danny, reaching Freakshow the moment he hit the apex of his height, burying his knee into the man's back with a sickening crunch, causing Freakshow to fly a few more feet into the air, as spit and blood flew from his mouth. Blood-red eyes didn't regain any of their normal look, he hasn't suffered enough yet, Freakshow tried to kill his Sam, and killing his Sam was the worst mistake anyone could ever make.

"FREAKSHOW!" Lividly howled Phantom, appearing above Freakshow with both of his hands together, slamming them down into the other's face, forcing the man to spin in the air, as something cracked in his face. "YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED AWAY FROM ME!" Crazily cackled Danny, his whole body viciously wavering for a brief second, a splitting headache briefly assaulting Danny's head, before the teen focused on the source of his anger.

Freakshow was numb at this point, he was certain he had a broken back and nose, and he was close to passing out. Red eyes snapped open as he felt a pair of cold hands grab onto his left arm, one on his forearm and the other on his bicep.

"NO! DON'T!" Quickly shouted Freakshow, howling in agony a second later as he felt his elbow twist the wrong way, Danny's foot firmly planted in it, snapping his arm.

"You think you have the right to say what I can and cannot do?" Frostily hissed Danny, squeezing Freakshow's forearm, holding him in the air a hundred meters above the hard ground, crushing it as he did so. "After enslaving Ghosts against their will, making them do crimes for your benefit, doing who knows what else with them! Then you go around and start harming innocent people, so give me one good reason why I shouldn't stain the pavement with your blood?" Softly whispered Danny, dropping Freakshow a few inches before grabbing him by his neck, staring him in the eyes.

"You're a hero, you wouldn't." Hurriedly spat Freakshow, gripping onto Danny's right arm, fear welling up inside of his gut as he watched Phantom's brow rise like he was amused.

"In the future, I'm supposed to be a villain who kills everyone, even my own parents. So what makes you think I won't start walking down that path now?" Wickedly cackled Danny, his eyes gleaming in glee as he opened up his hand, watching Freakshow plummet downwards, only for the man to stop midair, the terror frozen on his face.

Now that Danny noticed it, everything had frozen in place, the birds flying to the sky, the people walking, and even the plane overhead, as if time itself had been completely still. Red eyes momentarily flashed green, recognizing exactly who the cause of it was, [Ghost Sonar] only added to it, as Danny could sense that Clockwork was behind him.

"Are you sure this is what you want to do? Dyeing your hands with his blood?" Calmly asked Clockwork, he didn't seem phased at all by Danny's more monstrous appearance, well aware that some Ghosts underwent a similar transformation when stressed or livid.

"He tried to kill Sam, and put Ghosts to commit horrible deeds against their will." Softly growled Danny, doing his best to reel in his temper, since he didn't want to ruin his relationship with Clockwork, and it wouldn't be fair if he lashed out at him.

"I believe there is a saying in the human world, an eye for an eye and the world will go blind." Easily repeated Clockwork, floating closer to Danny, until the Halfa had to angle his head upwards in order to look into Clockwork's eyes.

Turning around and looking at Freakshow, Danny could see the fear frozen in his eyes, his lips parted slightly, about to begin his final scream as he had started plummeting to the ground, reaching terminal velocity well before then. This wasn't who he was, Danny felt sick with himself as his sense of self was slowly coming back, the effects of [Berserker] were quickly wearing off, allowing Danny to regain most of his senses.

Clockwork silently watched as the Halfa was debating with himself, his skin regaining its once healthy glow, followed by his ectoplasm turning back into the toxic shade of green that everyone was used to seeing, before the two little fangs that poked over his lips receded. The bloody red eyes and pointy ears stayed around a bit longer, slowly returning back to normal, leaving Danny Phantom silently floating in the air.

"Can I forgive myself for letting a monster like him run around the world? Do some people deserve to be ended?" Softly gasped Danny, in a sick way it felt right to let this man die, removing a horrible stain from this world.

"The second you start deciding when someone should die is the moment you start becoming a monster, you would be no different than this man before you." Soothingly answered Clockwork, he could not interfere at all with the timeline, which was already fracturing at the many paths that Danny could take, but all Clockwork could do was offer Danny advice, and hope he would make the correct choice.

"Last time I checked, you're not supposed to interfere with the timeline, am I mistaken?" Coldly questioned Danny, a part of him wanted Clockwork to start time again, so he could watch Freakshow fall to his death, but another part wanted to simply take Sam to the hospital, and for the Ghosts to deal with Freakshow. "Just take him to a prison or something in the Ghost Zone, I've got better things to do." Tiredly sighed Danny, snapping his left arm out and violently throwing Freakshow upwards, narrowing his eyes at how difficult it was to actually move the man when time was frozen.

"I'm glad that you realized, Danny." Proudly hummed Clockwork, tapping Freakshow with the top of his staff, causing the pathetic excuse of a human to disappear from sight, lifting a weight off of Danny's shoulders. "Till next time Danny, and it may be sooner than you think." Cheekily chuckled Clockwork, opening up a portal behind him and floating through it, leaving Danny alone in the air, as time resumed ticking.

'I have to get Sam to the hospital.' Determinedly thought Danny, not even wasting a second in diving downwards as quickly as he could, not even batting an eye as saw Valerie flying towards him, he didn't have time for this now.

(Time-skip)

"Mr. Phantom, you did the right thing in blocking the wound with ice, sure she's cold to the touch, but if you hadn't done that, then she would be dead, besides we can gradually warm her up with blankets and heaters." Soothingly spoke one of the doctors, watching as the teenage ghost floated in the room, worriedly looking over Sam, who was now resting in a hospital bed, with her wound stitched up.

"Can I have some time alone with her?" Softly whispered Danny, his voice hoarse from crying earlier, and it didn't help him that his throat was still hurting from the wail thing either.

"Certainly, I can tell that you both must have known each other for a few years so I don't mind." Calmly stated the doctor, leaving the room once she was certain that Sam was doing okay, though the Phantom's time would be limited since Sam's relatives would be coming over, along with the Fentons who would be interviewing Phantom.

Danny floated there silently until the doctor left the room, the sun had well since set, and the only thing that remained of Freakshow's scheme was the scar on Sam's stomach, and the staff resting against the wall in the corner of the room. Simply concentrating on the staff with [Telekinesis], Danny grabbed it out of the air as it flew over towards him, though he was still looking down at Sam the whole time.

"This happened because I was too slow, I think it's time that I stop being so reserved about my powers, I need to avoid something like this from ever happening again." Gently mumbled Danny, snapping the staff in half and then slamming the crystal ball against the floor, using [Telekinesis] to pick up all of the pieces and put them in his inventory, so his parents could investigate it. 'It is time I used my Spending points.' Sadly mulled Danny, who was not upset at the fact that he had to spend them, but rather that he hadn't had them earlier, since he could have been faster or stronger.

"Sam, I know you probably can't hear me, but I just want to say I am so sorry that I wasn't strong enough." Quietly sighed Danny, hovering in place beside Sam, gingerly reaching out with his gloved left hand, and gently grabbed onto Sam's own left hand, not noticing her eyelids flutter, open, and then closing pretending to still be asleep. "But I promise that I will not let something like this will ever happen to you again, or anyone else for that matter." Softly promised Danny, reassuringly squeezing Sam's hand, not realizing that Sam's eyes briefly opened before closing, the approaching sound of footsteps pounding the floor made Danny look towards the door.

*ping* For saying such touching words, your relationship with Sam has increased by +200!

The door to Sam's room slammed open, Danny didn't flinch as he was abruptly on the receiving end of one of Pamela's glares, or as Tucker called her, Sam's mom, and Jeremy slid in through the doorway a second later. Danny braced himself, floating out of the way, as Pamela decided to ignore him for now in favor of rushing over to her daughter.

"I don't want to see you near my daughter ever again." Coldly snarled Pamela, staring him down without a hint of fear in her eyes, now Danny could see where Sam got her strong personality from.

Jeremy was a lot quieter than his wife, gently gesturing at Danny to follow him out of the door, as Pamela was busy fussing and crying over Sam's body, placing a bouquet of flowers in a vase, lilies, Sam's favorite. Complying with her dad, Danny quietly left the room with her father, nodding at the man as he held open the door for Danny, which was something he really didn't have to do.

Closing the door after him, Jeremy remained silent for a few seconds as he observed the Halfa, assessing him and staring at him, trying to figure something out, though eager to get back to his daughter. The man's hand slipped into his pocket, looking around and then realizing where he was, after which silently gesturing at Danny to follow him.

Danny was fairly certain Jeremy wouldn't have a gun on him, hopefully, he didn't seem like the sort, but then again, Danny had only met Sam's parents when he had been much younger. He had been on the receiving end of more than a few weary and cheerful looks, as he passed by various rooms with Jeremy, climbing up higher into the hospital, until both of them stood on the roof, completely alone from everyone else.

"Sorry for taking so long, I just needed an open space." Tiredly sighed Jeremy, taking out a lighter from his pocket, followed by a box of cigarettes, taking one out and offering it to Danny, who politely shook his head in refusal. "You're a good kid, Danny, I wouldn't say many Ghosts would become a hero, even less would do it if they weren't rewarded." Exasperatedly huffed Jeremy, lighting the cigarette and holding it in his mouth, taking a deep breath in, and exhaling a second later.

"Thanks, but Sam still got injured." Disappointedly groaned Danny, watching the smoke come from Jeremy's mouth and rise upwards, dissipating after a few moments.

"That's okay, she would have been dead or kidnapped without you rescuing her. This might sound cruel, but I'd prefer if Sam was stabbed, saved, and then brought back quickly to us, over her being kidnapped for who knows how long, and who knows what could happen to her." Softly countered Jeremy, taking another huff of his cigarette, burning through more than half of it with the second puff. "My wife didn't mean what she said, she and Sam don't always see eye to eye, and she was scared that she could lose Sam before they could enjoy each other's company." Casually explained Jeremy, as if he wasn't talking to a Ghost, who had basically gone through an emotional breakdown.

"I think it's time I go see the Fentons." Sadly excused Danny, vaguely recalling that Ember had told him to check beneath his bed, and he just wanted to finish off his project and go to sleep for a week.

"You're a hero, Phantom. I'm sure everyone will recognize that in time." Distantly commented Jeremy, he wasn't trying to comfort Danny at all, as far as he was concerned he was just stating a simple fact.

Activating [Invisibility], Danny sighed as he flew higher into the air, wanting to just go home and unwind for a while, and just rest for a few hours before he had to do school work, as well as doing the project.

(Time-skip)

"So this is what Ember was talking about." Slowly acknowledged Danny, resting a black and white guitar on his lap, he was no expert on guitars, but it looked expensive judging from the case. "Oh?" Interestedly hummed Danny, his hand turning intangible as he saw a note inside the instrument, making the teen's curiosity peek slightly, as he reached in and grabbed it.

Setting the guitar aside, Danny slowly opened up the note, scanning through what was written on it once, before doing it a second time, noticing an invitation fall down onto his lap. Icy blue eyes blinked a few times, trying to piece together how long he would have to practice the guitar for, the Gamer Power would help for sure, and to make sure he wasn't seeing things, Danny read the note one last time.

What's up Babypop?

So for me telling you the basics about a girl's feelings, I want you to learn how to play this guitar for me since I've got a gig coming up in December taking place in the Ghost Zone, where I'll need to have a helping hand. On the bottom is an invitation for the party on Christmas, where we'll be performing, though it's not needed since you're already a Ghost.

Yours forever,

Ember!

At the bottom of the note was a blue lipstick kiss...

"I guess I do owe her." Embarrassedly grumbled Danny, picking up the guitar, already knowing each string, and that was about it, all Danny knew about a guitar was each string, nothing more. "I can at least practice it for an hour or so a day, and {Genius Brain} should help out with the learning." Idly recalled Danny, pausing for a second as he remembered he had to take the remains of the staff out.

Gently placing the guitar back on his bed, Danny activated [Intangibility], allowing himself to slip through his bed, followed by his bedroom floor, gently floating down through his house, until he landed in the basement. Canceling the skill, Danny made his way over to the experiment table in the basement, rolling his shoulders before reaching out with his right hand, watching it disappear into his inventory.

One by one, Danny pulled out each segment of the broken staff, neatly placing each shard of glass together, holding them in place with [Telekinesis], before pulling out the red wings and placing them beside the cracked glass ball. Pausing for a minute, Danny blinked as he realized there was something else in his inventory, something he didn't recall putting in there, but it had come from the staff.

"The hell is this?" Curiously asked Danny, holding an odd-looking stone, which must have been what magnified the mind control power, though it was shaped like a crescent moon, like the name of the Ghost who had owned the staff, Luna.

It was cold to the touch, not as cold as he was normally, but colder than most things, and Danny couldn't help but close his eyes, [Ghost Sonar] enhancing his ability to sense ectoplasm, and then Danny felt it. Ectoplasm that floated in the Ghost Zone had a different feel to it than that of a Ghost, since the Ghost Zone's ectoplasm was mainly used to feed and power a Ghost, while that of a Ghost lets them do all kinds of Ghostly things, and it was the latter kind of ectoplasm that Danny was feeling.

Placing the stone in his left hand, Danny tried activating [Ectoplasm Manipulation], sending in a bit of his own ectoplasm to try and usher Luna's out, curious as to what would happen. Surprisingly her ectoplasm came out of the crescent moon shaped rock without much issue, it was when Danny was holding the pale, white ectoplasm in his right hand that it became a problem.

[Ectoplasm Absorption] was an incredibly useful skill, Danny loved it since it helped his ectoplasm reserve recover quickly, but it had caused problems, since whenever there was ectoplasm in the lab, Danny would passively leach off of it. Icy blue eyes widened as the white ectoplasm sunk into his hand, making the teen shudder as he could feel it mingling with his own, {Adaptivity} was doing something to the foreign ectoplasm and his own.

[Mind Control]: (Active) Level 1/100: EXP: 0%

Ectoplasm: 2000 per minute

Description: By staring someone in the eyes for ten seconds, you're given the option to take control of that someone's mind, and you're able to do this to multiple people at the same time. Looks like Freakshow got the last laugh.

The ability to take away someone's will temporarily, Danny's mouth felt dry as he looked at the skill, out of all of them it was already by far his least favorite one, but most likely one of the strongest in his arsenal. Its ectoplasm cost means Danny could only use it on two people for a minute, the experiment table cracking under Danny's grip made the teen leap back, blinking as he realized he had spaced out.

"You okay Danny boy?" Curiously hummed Jack, popping his head over Danny's shoulder, raising a brow as he watched his son disappear from sight, only to reappear a split moment later, making the man shrug his shoulders. "Is this the artifact?" Interestedly asked Jack, about to reach for it, only to see the cracks on the metallic experiment table, and the slight strain the metal was putting on the bolts holding it in place.

"I don't know... Dad, I...I... I almost killed Freakshow, he stabbed Sam and then I..." Weakly gasped Danny, vividly remembering exactly how he felt a few hours ago, the bloodlust, the desire to rip Freakshow's limbs off, and the temptation to punish the ringmaster for what he had done. "I lost it." Stiffly huffed Danny, stiffening as his dad turned him around and pulled him into a hug, making sure the young Halfa could feel his heartbeat.

"Hey there Danny, it is okay now, that Freakshow guy can't harm you or any of your friends anymore." Softly consoled Jack, rubbing the back of Danny's head, as he could feel his son shivering in his embrace, clutching to him tighter, as if he was afraid he would let go.

(Location Change)

"Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick." Repeatedly hummed Freakshow, suspended off of the ground with thick chains wrapped around each limb, in his cell there wasn't even a bed or a chair, all Freakshow could do was hang there. "The mouse ran up the clock." Slowly began Freakshow, you would expect him to be disappointed by his plans being ruined, but a smile was on his face since this was all a part of the contract.

"Do you want to shut up?" Gruffly snarled one of the two Ghostly guards, they weren't nearly as strong as Phantom, but they were close enough to him for it to be a minor difference, though that really didn't matter at all, since Freakshow was just counting the time.

"I could ask you the same thing?" Smugly retorted Freakshow, giggling as the tip of an ecto-gun was being pointed at the guard's head, gasping as his limbs stung from the slight jerk, smiling once he saw the guard drop to the floor, a hole going through his head and a second through his chest. "It's about time, and I have to ask, how did you know I'd be put in the Ghost Zone?" Curiously asked Freakshow, collapsing to the ground with a winch, the chains that held him in place disappeared, as his savior stood in front of him.

"You've got a chip in you, I know where you are at all times." Amusedly answered Kate Krauss, slipping the ecto-gun back into its holster, picking a bead off of her belt, and dropping it to the ground. "And I suggest we get back to headquarters before a more powerful Ghost comes by." Idly ushered Kate, the bead exploding into an orange portal a moment later, sucking up both Kate and Freakshow, before closing.

"I am sorry Danny, but I am not allowed to intervene." Sadly sighed Clockwork, appearing out of nowhere, knowing that the future would be tough on Danny, with his already weakening mental state, which would hopefully improve.

That's a wrap people! Freakshow didn't stay out of it for long, and Kate is back with a plan and more advanced technology! It seems as if Kate has a plan now, which involves Freakshow in some way... I wonder what it could be?

See ya next time!

SpudLord!
