Jessica was home, looking down at her ring, no idea what to do with it since she can't get rid of it but she knows that she's not strong enough to wield it.
Then she remembers what Tomar-Re told her about it being an honor to be chosen to join their ranks and how it never makes a mistake.
Just as she was thinking what to do, the ring glows and she gets a sense of someone in danger; someone down below.
Clint is getting zapped by Whiplash and his electric whips he's tied up in.
They've been doing this to him for the past hour or more. There's no reason for doing so, they just love torturing him.
"I'm surprised you haven't begun to beg for us to end this." Kaecilius admits to Clint. "What was it you said to me when you held me captive similar to this? Survived and ready for vengeance. How do you plan on doing that?"
"That depends...one of you mind asking what can go wrong?" Clint asks of them jokingly when they hear rumble and something blasts through the ceiling and they all look to see the Green Lantern.
"You killed them all, huh?" Klaue asks Sportsmaster as they all see the new arrival.
Sportsmaster chuckles and grabs his bat before swinging a few balls at the Green Lantern.
Jessica thought fast and created a shield to protect herself.
Magneto throws several tons of metal at her and Jessica created a flamethrower that melted the metal and sends the liquid down onto the teams which causes some to scream in pain.
Jessica flies down and quickly undoes the whip around Clint. "Let's get you out of here, sir."
Suddenly, a blast of electricity hits her from behind and Clint quickly gets away while he has the chance. Jessica gets back up and dodges more blasts when Jiaying grabs her and starts to drain her life.
Jiaying was killing Jessica when an arrow stabbed her in the back and Clint comes in with his bow and arrows they stupidly left close before grabbing Jessica and leads her out of the caves.
Icicle comes in and sees the mess that was created because of the two.
"I think it's time to end the Justice Society and these new Avengers." Doom informed Icicle who is starting to agree.
"If they have a Green Lantern, we must end them while we have the chance." Icicle finally agreed. "Brainwave, go to the home of the Whitmore's, end Star Girl. Victor, send your finest to end Spider-Man, their teams will crumble without their leaders."
"Consider it done." Doom agrees.
In just 12 hours, the ISA's plan will be completed.
In just a few hours, the Dark Avengers plans will be finished and Ultron will be unleashed onto the world.
Clint lead Jessica to his place as elsewhere the teams were just getting ready to leave after being told Brainwave knows all of their identities and need to go into hiding.
"I thought you were gone." Peter sighs in relief as he hugged his uncle.
"Yeah, I thought so too, but they used Brainwave to get everyone's identities." Clint warned him and faces Jessica. "She's the one who saved me."
Lila walked over to the girl and recognized the ring easily since she and Clint were good friends with Alan Scott before he either vanished or died.
"The ring chose someone worthy. Thank you." Lila thanks Jessica.
"I...I just did what I thought was right. I was told where to find him and reacted. I'm...I'm no Green Lantern." Jessica says and takes off the ring. "The ring made a mistake."
"How did the ring make a mistake?" Peter wonders, still confused how this works.
"The one thing that a Green Lantern is supposed to be is fearless...and I'm anything but fearless. I watched my friends get killed by two lunatics and this ring was because of that. I can't be a Green Lantern because I'm afraid." Jessica told him and slams the ring to the table.
Peter kneels down to face Jessica, knowing how she feels. "I am also afraid, you know? I have powers, friends, family and I'm still afraid. The people who killed your friends, they killed my parents and friend."
"How do you still keep fighting? How are you not afraid?" Jessica wonders, not understanding how he could do this so easily.
"It's called courage. To push forward even if we are afraid to do so." Peter explains. "I was told the stories of the Green Lantern's when I was a child. That the ring doesn't choose anyone without seeing something within you. You are afraid, but that ring is saying that you are able to overcome fear, and fight. It saw you are courageous."
Jessica looks up to him and knows she can't do this. "I'm sorry." She says before getting up and leaves.
"It was a long shot." Clint supposed, asking some girl they just met to risk her life for them and they begin to pack and get ready to meet up with the others.
Meanwhile, at the Whitmore's residence, Barbra and Courtney were packing up while Pat and Mike goes to the garage and he planned to show him everything but it ended up with him fighting Sportsmaster.
At the home, Barbra dodges attacks from Tigress as Courtney and the Cosmic Staff comes in and saves her.
Back at the Barton residence, Peter's senses go off and he moves Lila out of the way and a sonic blast comes through where Klaue and Whiplash come in.
"Well, this time, how about we make sure these kids stay dead?" Kaecilius asks as he also appears in the living room.
Peter comes in and tackles the sorcerer to the ground.
Clint races and grabs his bow before turning it into a staff and spins it around.
Peter dodges a blast from Klaue as the sorcerer tosses him across the room with a kick.
Clint dodges a swing from Whiplash and finds one of the places he hides an arrow and quickly shoots Whiplash in the arm which caused him to drop one whip.
Peter gets pinned to the wall as Klaue moved on to find Lila.
"It's about time for me to crush this spider." Kaecilius says and creates a sphere and goes to kill him when someone punches him away and Chavez saved him.
"You're welcome." Chavez tells Peter and helps him stand up.
Clint goes to grab a second arrow when Whiplash stopped him and goes for the final strike when another someone grabbed his second whip and turns to see Robbie has shown up.
"Who the hell are you?" Whiplash asks and Robbie takes his whip from him.
"Hell is the right word." Robbie says and grabs Whiplash by the neck before raising him and the Ghost Rider breaks through and burns his soul.
Klaue goes to kill Lila and aims his weapon when she sends multiple shots from the defense gun and takes Klaue down.
"Yeah. I was preparing for you for ten years." Lila tells the dead man.
"How'd you know we needed help?" Peter asks his team members.
"We came to pick you up. Saw the giant hole in the side of the house. Put two and two together." Chavez explains and they load up everything in the car and all drove up to meet everyone else at the cabin.
They finally arrived at the cabin and sees everyone is there, including Gabe who Robbie didn't want to leave behind.
Daisy moves Gabe over to his brother who is relieved to see him.
"Hey, what's up, man?" Robbie asks, trying to stay casual. "Look, sorry for all the drama. I'm just glad to see you're safe."
"Me? What's going on? Why did you disappear like that? What-What is going on?" Gabe asks, a million questions running a minute.
"Gabe, listen, I will explain everything inside. Okay?" Robbie promises him as everyone is helping Charles get out of the Charger.
"Is everyone here?" Clint asks and everyone is shocked to see him.
"Clint, you're alive?!" Rick asks.
"Yeah, thought you bit the dust." MJ agreed.
"Nah, they kept me alive, but then I was rescued by a Green Lantern." Clint says and promised to explain more inside when they see another vehicle approach and get ready for a fight when they notice it's just Justin.
"Hello, friends." Justin greets as he seems to have brought them KFC. "I bring forth a feast...fit for king and queens." Buddy the dog races over to the man and barks. "Oh, and loyal steeds."
They hear something rumbling and they look to see the S.T.R.I.P.E. come flying in and land.
Everyone looks to Pat for an explanation as he holds up a pair of keys.
"Remote control." Pat explains and a car alarm goes off in the robot.
"When are you gonna teach me to drive that thing?" Mike asks him.
"Never." Pat promises and everyone heads inside and Clint has news on what they're planning; while he was captured, they never shut up about their plans and knows what the Dark Avengers have planning, for the world and ISA.
"The battle is nigh." Justin says as he looks out into the night.
Dr. Doom leads Brainwave through the tunnels and towards their own version of Cerebro.
"The reason we kept the professor alive for ten years was for this." Doom tells brainwave as Ito takes over and leads him inside.
"Is it time?" Cross asks.
"Take Jiaying, get the Quinjet in the air. Get you and Stane out as well. Eric knows what to do. I'll activate Ultron, keep the children busy." Doom tells him the plan.
"And the ISA?" Cross asks.
"The crystals will finish them. If not, we will." Doom promises as they watch as Ito turns on the machine and hear Brainwave scream.
"So, the Dark Avengers are planning to do to the world what happened to me?" Daisy asks Clint.
"Not only that, but Doom created an army of robots to keep us busy while Magneto is gonna destroy the city to tear apart everything Icicle has done." Clint recaps the DA's plans.
"Hey, what's wrong with Professor?" Quicksilver asks and they look to see Charles shaking and then feel a pain going through their minds.
"Charles!" Clint calls out and the pain increases in everyone's minds. "A.M.I, activate the power dampeners!" He demands and Charles' along with everyone else's mind stopped hurting.
"What was that?" Bobbie asks.
"Charles, hey, what happened?" Clint asks.
"They're using it." Charles says. "Clint, they used me to create Cerebro."
"What's Cerebro?" Mike asks.
"It's how Charles was able to find mutants back in the day." Pat explains to him. "Why would they want it?"
"Whatever it is, it can't be good, now that they can get into the minds of anyone on the planet." Clint comments and they all start getting to work on locating the teams.
Peter was standing outside of the place and is thinking of the battle that is coming, along with going up against the man who took him away from his family.
Just as he was looking out, Courtney walked out and found him.
"Oh, sorry. Thought everyone was inside." Courtney apologizes.
"Yeah, I just needed some air, and thought somebody should be on lookout." Peter explains and looks out into the woods while leaning on the railing.
"I think we're pretty safe out here." Courtney says and joins him on the railing.
"Yeah, I told Ned that he'd be safest at home away from the chaos and monsters, and look what happened." Peter replied, still beating himself up about what happened to his friend.
"I'm sorry about that." Courtney apologized.
"I couldn't save my parents without powers, and I can't seem to be able to protect anyone with powers. At first, I thought I was chosen to get these powers. You know, avenge my parents, keep the people I love safe. But it feels like the more people I try to save, the more people I loose." Peter says and looks down to the Web shooters underneath his shirt.
"But now you might be able to finally avenge them all. Stop the JSA and the Dark Avengers from hurting anyone else." Courtney tells him.
"Then what?" Peter wonders. "What do I do after that then?"
"Maybe then you can get some peace of mind for your parents." Courtney guesses.
"I've spent years thinking of getting vengeance for them, keep their legacy's going...but you're right; it's time I finished what they started. I couldn't protect any them, but I sure as well am going to avenge them." Peter promises as Courtney places her hand over his.
"You won't have to do it alone." Courtney promises him. "Tomorrow, the Justice Society and Avengers will return and stop the Dark Avengers and ISA."
Peter smiles and nods in agreement as they look out to the night sky.
"The boy?" Tigress asks Sportsmaster after they met up along with finding out about Klaue and Whiplash.
"Yeah, the boy." Sportsmaster conformed that's how he failed. "My back is killing me. How about you?"
"Better than Whiplash or Klaue." Tigress comments.
They hear the door open and get ready to kill them when they see it's the Fiddler.
"What are you doing here?" Tigress asks.
"Jordan sent me to make sure you don't fail a second time and loose more members." Fiddler explains why she's here.
"What are you gonna do? Smash them over the head with your violin?" Sportsmaster wonders.
"I'm going to immobilize them. They'll be standing still, making them impossible to miss." Fiddler expalins what she plans to do for them. "Even for you two."
"Targets that don't move...Where's the fun in that?" Sportsmaster asks.
"This isn't about fun, you sick statistics. Whiplash and Klaue are dead, and you two get too much pleasure from this type of thing. You both relish in violence. I feel sick imagining how your daughter is going to turn out. She's a wild animal just like her mother." Fiddler comments.
"You sayin' we don't love our child?" Sportsmaster asks.
"No. I'm saying you're unfit to be parents." Fiddler explains and Tigress shoots her in the throat.
Back at the cabin, Lila was making sure there was no everlasting damage done to to Clint during his torture and sees his wounds will heal with time.
"See? You're worried about nothing." Clint assures her.
"I thought I lost you back there." Lila replies.
"I've been hit by worse than some lightning whip." Clint jokes as he places more arrows in his quiver. "Remember when Garrick was still learning to throw lightning and he hit me instead?"
"Yeah, I was worried about you then, too. You said your fingers didn't feel right for a week." Lila reminds him as he places the quiver down and takes a seat on the couch, followed by her. "You know I totally support your avenging. Especially after everything that happened, I couldn't be prouder. But I see what the Avengers were, what the JSA were. Those gods...they didn't stand a chance against the Dark Avengers or the ISA. You barely made it out with your life twice now."
"You don't think they need me." Clint guesses.
"No, these kids do need you. Which is a lot scarier." Lila explains and places a hand on his shoulder. "They're a mess." She gestured to around the room as the team are getting prepared for the fight yet to come and half of them are still learning to control their abilities.
"Yeah. I guess they're my mess." Clint supposed, him being the last Avenger, he needs to make sure they're prepared.
"You just need to make sure that this team is really a team and they have your back." Lila asks of him.
"It's me who's got their back." Clint replies, knowing it's going to take all of them to save their home.
