Hello! Here is chapter 17 and I will tell you...save for the beginning of it...the entire chapter is pretty much all angst AND an assault that does attempt to turn into a sexual assault, so if that is not something you are okay with reading...read with caution.
To all of my readers, I hope you and your family have a Happy Holiday!
I do not own anyone affiliated with WWE...only Anna, the paramedics and the officer.
It's Monday night and the back is buzzing with Superstars left and right getting ready for Monday Night Raw. Anna's been going nonstop all day that 30 minutes before Raw is scheduled to start, does she get to have a moment alone with Drew.
"You're very popular today," Drew comments as he pulls Anna into his arms moments after walking through her door. He is already dressed in his ring attire and wears one of his shirts since his match against Randy is 5th in line tonight.
"I am. I guess it's a good thing I'm good at my job," Anna laughs, wrapping her own arms around Drew's neck, playing with his wet hair. "I've missed you all day. I see you weren't whisked away and taken hostage by one of my many enemies," she jokes, only being a little serious. Anna doesn't care if she can't fight to save her life, but if anyone ever tries to put their hands on her man…heads will roll.
"No, I'm still here," Drew smirks and sneaks his hand under Anna's shirt to rub his thumb on the skin of her lower back, "which brings me to what I'm about to say next. If you don't want to do it, I completely understand, but I was hoping you'd accompany me to the ring tonight for my match," he says with a hopeful look on his face.
"Am I even allowed to? I mean I know others have joined their partner or whatever to some matches, but they are a part of the show; I literally only work backstage. I'm a nobody to the WWE Universe unlike you or Nattie. They know who you are…they don't know me," Anna replies, running her hands down his chest to rest on his pecs.
"I asked Hunter if I could and he said it was alright, but only if you want to or are willing to. A lot of the roster knows who you are and that we're together, but I want the whole world to know you're mine and that I'm taken by the most amazing person on this Earth," Drew responds, cupping the side of Anna's face and caresses her cheek.
Anna looks up at him and places her hand over his that rests on her cheek and smiles, "I have no doubt that it'll be intimidating as hell, but I'd love to be your ringside companion tonight," she tells him and Drew returns her smile before placing a kiss to her lips.
"Thank you. I can't wait to show the world that you're mine and that I've never been more happy in my entire life," he tells Anna, resting his forehead against hers.
"I just hope that they'll accept me," Anna says a little apprehensively.
"They will and they'll love you. They'd be crazy not to," Drew says, confidently and runs his hands up and down Anna's sides to calm her fears before pulling her back into his arms and she nods her head as Drew descends his head to press another soft kiss to her lips.
An hour and a half later, Drew and Anna walk hand in hand to gorilla position, "are you ready? We go out first," Drew tells Anna and she takes a deep breath before nodding her head.
"As ready as I'll ever be," she replies, her heart beating out of her chest and moments later, Drew's theme starts.
"Here we go," Drew grins down at Anna and she returns his smile and she can hear Mike Roman, the ring announcer, start the introductions.
"Introducing first, accompanied by his girlfriend, Anna , from Ayr, Scotland, weighing in at 265lbs…Drew McIntyre!" Mike announces and she and Drew walk out onto the stage and into an arena filled with thousands of screaming fans.
Anna grips Drew's hand in a vice-like grasp, but smiles nonetheless, "relax; you're doing great," Drew whispers in her ear while squeezing her hand comfortingly and she nods her head.
While walking down the ramp, Anna takes in the WWE Universe and she is taken aback by how dedicated all of them are. When they make it to the ring, Drew helps Anna up the steel steps and through the ropes, following right behind her.
"Go do your thing, baby," Anna tells Drew with a smile and Drew replies with a wink before stepping onto the second and third ropes, releasing his battle cry before hopping down and returning to Anna's side.
"When he gets to ringside, I want you to get out, okay? He doesn't need to be anywhere near you," Drew tells Anna just as his music cuts off and Randy's begins.
"Don't worry, I will. But I'm not leaving your side," Anna replies and grabs his hand when she looks out towards the ramp to find Randy burning a hole through her.
Drew follows her line of sight and a low growl is released from him at the way Randy looks at Anna. Randy makes it to the ring and gets up on the apron effortlessly as he continues to stare at Anna.
"Alright, you need to get out, now," Drew orders, not taking his eyes off of Randy.
"Kiss me, first," Anna tells him and when Drew looks down at her, she grabs his face and places a kiss to his lips, "you got this. Go kick his ass," she finishes, putting one more quick kiss to him before hopping out of the ring.
"What? No good luck kiss for me?" Randy taunts Drew, but looks down at Anna wearing a sadistic grin and Anna stares back at him with the hardest glare she's ever given anyone before.
"You better quit looking at her if you know what's good for you, Orton," Drew threatens him and Randy looks over at Drew menacingly and both men don't even realize that the bell has already rung with how intense their stand off is.
"What? You worried she's going to leave you for me?" Randy comments, trying to get under Drew's skin; to get him disqualified before their match even begins.
"I'd rather die than leave Drew to ever be with you," Anna spits out and Randy looks back down at Anna after her comment. Anna looks over at Drew and gives him a subtle nod.
With Randy's attention on Anna, Drew puts a fist to the back of his head to start off their match and Randy falls to the canvas. He crawls to the corner of the ring and picks himself up, but Drew stays on top of him. Drew spins Randy around and lays a right hook to the side of his face before kicking him in the gut.
Drew repeats the assault until the ref pulls him off, allowing Randy to get some breathing space. When Randy gets his bearings, Drew advances on him once more, but instead of getting another hit in, Randy lands a boot to Drew's abdomen.
Drew doubles over and Randy takes the opportunity to grab Drew's hair and drives fist after fist to Drew's face until the ref demands him to stop. Drew falls to his knees and Anna hurries over to the side of the ring that he is at, "come on, Drew. Get to your feet; he's coming back," she tells him and stands up straight, backing up a little when Randy makes it to Drew's side.
"Don't worry, baby. I'll show you a good time once I take care of this fool," Randy addresses Anna, trying to get a rise out of her, but it backfires on him when Drew punches him straight in the stomach with fury.
"You're not going to put a hand on her," Drew snarls, sending punch after punch to Randy's face before sending him into the opposite corner of the ring, following right behind him and tosses Randy over his shoulder to the center of the ring with a belly to belly suplex.
"Yes! That's it baby, keep it up," Anna encourages Drew, hitting the apron in excitement as Randy groans from the pain.
Drew lifts Randy up and throws him into the rope, sending him back to the center of the ring where Drew delivers him a clothes line, sending Randy back to the mat. Randy quickly gets back to his feet and goes after Drew, but Drew gives him another clothes line.
Once again, Randy gets back to his feet when Drew starts to climb the ropes on the opposite post and jumps off to land a hit to Randy, but Randy kicks him in the face midair. Drew drops to the mat, writhing in pain and rolls to the apron where Anna meets him, "baby, are you okay?" She asks Drew, placing a hand on his chest.
Drew looks at her and nods his head a little, he closes his eyes and rolls back into the ring, slowly standing up and Randy runs towards Drew, sending him over the top rope where Drew falls to the ground right in front of Anna.
Anna quickly runs to Drew's aid, kneeling next to him and places her hand once again on his chest while looking up at Randy with hatred in her eyes. He watches the scene before him with a sick grin, keeping his eyes on Anna.
She shakes her head in disgust and puts her attention back on Drew, "baby, talk to me. Are you alright? Can you stand?" She asks him and Drew focuses on her face and finds a worried look in her eyes.
"Yeah, I can," Drew replies and sits up; Anna gets to her feet and backs up to give Drew the space he needs to continue the match. He steps up onto the apron and goes to get back into the ring between the middle and top ropes, but Randy meets him there and pulls him through them, leaving Drew midair by holding his top half while Drew's ankles rest on the middle rope.
Randy looks down at Anna, flashing her another sadistic grin and blows her a kiss before dropping Drew face first into the mat with a DDT.
This time Drew doesn't respond as quickly and stays put, laying face down on the canvas. Anna looks at Drew with horror in her eyes before looking up at Randy with nothing but rage, "what the hell is wrong with you?" She spits out at him before putting her attention back to Drew where he lays feet from the edge of the ring.
"Come on, baby. Open your eyes; look at me," Anna demands Drew gently and he obeys by flashing her his blue orbs and she hears the ref ask Drew if he can continue to which Drew responds with a 'yes' and he drags himself to the ropes where Anna stands. "You got this, baby. You're stronger than him," Anna tells him before he turns around to face Randy who goes in for an RKO, but Drew is able to grab him and slam him into the mat with a Spine Buster.
"That's it, Drew!" Anna cheers, clapping wildly.
While Randy groans in pain, still on his back, Drew sets himself up in the corner, ready to deliver a Claymore to end the match. Randy slowly, but wobbly gets to his feet and turns to Drew, who runs towards him, successfully landing the Claymore. Drew goes in for the pin.
One. Two. Three.
The bells dings and Anna cheers loudly, making her way to the front of the ring to wait for Drew as Randy continues to lay flat on his back in the center of the ring.
"And here's your winner, Drew McIntyre!" Mike Roman announces to the WWE Universe and the sound inside the arena becomes deafening between the fans and the music.
Anna smiles up at Drew and when he makes eye contact with her, his smile becomes bigger. "Get in here," he yells towards her and walks to the ropes, holding them open for her. She walks up the same steel steps as she did before the match and stops on the top step as she watches Randy finally roll out of the ring.
They make eye contact and Anna shakes her head at him in disappointment for his actions while he gives her a hard unfriendly stare that sends an unwelcome shiver down her back. Anna hears Drew call her name and she looks over at him, the smile returning to her face. She closes the small distance between them and steps into the ring after taking his hand.
"I'm so proud of you, baby; I knew you could do," Anna smiles up at Drew and he returns it before placing a small kiss to her lips.
"I was able to because of you," Drew tells her and ushers her to the center of the ring before directing his attention to the bell keepers area and asks for a microphone.
"What are you doing?" Anna asks as Drew returns to her.
"I told you, I'm gonna let everyone know that you're mine and that I'm taken by the most amazing person on Earth," Drew tells her, wrapping an arm around her waist, then turns his attention to the WWE Universe, "Austin, how is everyone doing tonight?!" Drew asks the crowd and they respond with screams.
"I'd have to say I feel the same. Now, you're probably wondering why I've turned my losing streak around and have been winning all of my matches lately," Drew asks the crowd, then continues, "well, it's all because of this beautiful woman right here; my girlfriend, Anna. She's my saving grace, my other half and I don't know what I'd do without her.
"So you all will most likely be seeing a lot more of her from now on. Isn't that right, love?" Drew says then looks down at Anna and she holds a slightly horrified look on her face, but it turns into the smile Drew loves most on her.
"If that's what you want, then absolutely," Anna replies, looking up at Drew, "you know I'd do anything for you," she whispers and Drew responds with a soft kiss and the crowd seems to grow louder at the action.
"Then it's settled, WWE Universe, you'll be seeing a lot more of this beautiful human with me at ringside. You all have a good night," Drew addresses the roaring crowd, then he and Anna leave the ring and walk up the ramp back to gorilla position, away from prying eyes.
Before Anna can get a word in, Drew silences her with a finger to her lips, "wait till we're in the room away from eyes and ears," he tells Anna and she nods her head in understanding, realizing that they are still not alone, "let me go shower and I'll be there in 15, okay?"
Anna nods her head again with a smile and steps on her toes, pulling Drew down for a kiss, "don't take too long," she tells him and they part ways; he to the mens locker room and she to her designated room for the day.
Making her way to the room with a smile on her face, Anna doesn't realize she's had eyes on her since parting ways with Drew minutes ago. Walking in to the room, Anna places her phone down on the desk and goes to put together the same mixture of oils she makes for Drew after every match.
She is so engrossed in what she is doing that she doesn't even realize that 15 minutes have already flown by when she hears the door close shut with a click. "I was wondering when you were gonna get here," Anna says with a smile before turning around and the smile drops from her face and fear replaces it.
"See, I knew you wanted me all along," Randy says to her menacingly while wearing a sick grin as he closes the space in between them, advancing on her.
"Randy," Anna says, holding her hands up in front of her as if to stop him, "stop. You don't have to do this; you're bigger than that. I know this can't be you," she continues and backs up, but runs into the counter behind her. That event made Randy's smirk become even bigger.
"Oh, but I have to. I saw the way you were dressed the other night and the way you looked at me; you wanted me. Don't deny it, Anna," Randy replies and licks his bottom lip as he eyes her up and down.
"What are you talking about? I never looked at you a certain way. I was being polite. I'm with Drew, Randy. You know this," Anna starts to plead as the distance between them is closed and he is flush against her, caging her in against the counter. She has nowhere to go.
"I don't sweetheart; I haven't seen the two of you together since before that night. And I meant what I said when I told you that you can do so much better than him. You're a beautiful woman and he's well…" Randy says, letting the sentence hang with a shrug. "I'm so much better than he is; in and out of the ring," Randy runs a finger down her face and throat to her chest.
"That's why he beat you tonight then, right?" Anna retorts and regrets the words as soon as she says them with the feral look that crosses Randy's features.
"You little bitch," Randy snarls, slapping her across the face with the back of his hand before turning her around so her back is facing him and crushes her against the counter.
Anna cries out in pain at the force of her body hitting the counter as it collided with her stomach, "I was going to be nice, but you just pissed me off," he grounds out, spit hitting the side of Anna's face as he spoke.
"Please…don't do this," Anna pleads, tears starting to fall down her cheeks and her thoughts turn to Drew. Where is he? This can't be happening to her.
"Shut up," Randy says and grabs a handful of Anna's hair, pulling her head back forcefully that she cries out. Randy skims his mouth against the side of her neck before biting hard, leaving teeth marks in her skin.
Anna screams at the pain and Randy slaps a hand over her mouth to silence her, "what did I just tell you? Shut that pretty little mouth of your's or I'll silence it for you," he whispers and she nods her head in understanding, "good girl," he says, placing a kiss to the side of her head.
Tears continue to fall from her eyes, silently pleading for Drew to come save her. Suddenly her chest is exposed when Randy rips open the front of her shirt and caresses her bra cladded breasts before running his hand down her body and flicks the button of her jeans open.
"Please…Randy…stop," Anna cries quietly as he shoves his hand down the front of her panties, but before he can go any further the door is smashed open and Randy is ripped off of Anna and thrown to the ground. Anna crumbles to the floor in a heap and curls into a fetal position as she hears Drew beat down Randy.
"You evil son of a bitch! I thought I fucking told you to stay away from her or else you'd pay! What the fuck is wrong with you, you piece of shit," Drew hammers at Randy, hitting him left and right. "What kind of person put their hands on a woman like that and thinks they'll get away with it? Huh?" Drew spits out and kicks Randy in the side, "tell me!" He yells and the only response Drew gets is a groan followed by a 'fuck you'.
"What the bloody hell is going on in here?" Ste asks, walking into the room after hearing the screaming from down the hall, "what the fuck," Ste exclaims and looks back and forth between Drew beating the shit out of Randy and Anna curled up on the floor.
"Ste, call 911 and keep an eye on this piece of shit until the cops get here. If I don't stop now, I never will and I'll kill him," Drew orders, aggression in his tone and hurries over to Anna, "baby, I'm here. I'm so sorry," he whispers, kneeling on the floor next to Anna and she flinches on reflex when he places a hand on her shoulder.
"Don't touch me, please…Randy, stop, please," Anna begs, curling in on herself more, tightening her arms around her body to cover herself.
"Anna, baby…it's Drew. He's gone; it's just you and me in the room," Drew says gently, placing a hand, this time more gingerly onto her upper arm and rubs it carefully so he doesn't frighten her again.
"Drew?" Anna asks, looking over her shoulder and up at him. Drew goes to respond but is silenced when he sees the bruise that starts to form on her face for one, but it turns into rage when he discovers that her shirt is completely ripped opened. However, as quickly as his reaction was there, it's gone so he doesn't risk scaring Anna more than she already is.
"Yeah, baby; it's me," Drew responds and takes his shirt off to give to Anna to wear after he removes her tattered shirt, "c'mere," he says, opening his arms and wraps them tightly around her when she goes willingly. He places a kiss to her head and rocks her back and forth as he tries to comfort her, "I'm so sorry, baby. So so sorry," Drew says, his voice cracking as tears of his own start to fall from his eyes.
"Where were you, Drew?" Anna whispers, grasping his side as she hides her face into his chest, her tears wetting his skin. A sharp pain shoots through his heart at the broken and defeated tone that comes from Anna's lips.
"I have no excuse baby. I got held up in the showers and even that isn't a good enough excuse. But when you didn't answer your phone right away like you always do, I knew something was wrong. I just never thought that this…" Drew chokes up mid sentence and buries his face into Anna's hair as more tears start to fall, "my god, I am so sorry. I promised I would protect you and I let this happen," he continues to cry.
"Baby, it's not your fault. You didn't know he would do this," Anna rasps out, looking up at him and hisses at the movement, shooting her hand up to her neck to cover the offending area.
"What is it? I didn't hurt you, did I?" Drew asks becoming alarmed by Anna's reaction to the smallest movement. She shakes her head no and removes her hand from her neck; when Drew sees the enflamed red teeth marks in her neck, he becomes beyond livid. His hold tightens on her the slightest bit and a deep rumbling growl is released from him, "Ste! Where the hell are the police?! I wanna get Anna out of here," Drew booms and Ste comes barreling into the room.
"They just got here, mate. Paramedics, too; they are going to wanna check her out," Ste replies, looking down solemnly at the couple; his heart breaking for Anna, wishing there was something he could do.
Just as he says it, 2 paramedics walk into the room with everything they need on hand, "Ms. Hart, how are you feeling?" The one young male paramedic asks and Drew looks at him like he's gone mad.
"How do you think she's feeling, mate?" She was just assaulted and god knows what else," Drew snaps at the young man who visibly looks shaken by Drew's reaction.
"Baby, stop; he's just doing his job," Anna says, placing a hand on his forearm as she turns to the paramedic, "for the most part, okay. My cheek and neck hurt badly, but my abdomen is pretty sore, too," Anna replies as she watches him write something down while the other paramedic gets the supplies out of her bag that she needs.
"If it's alright with you, I'd like to see your injuries so I know what I'm dealing with, but before I can do anything for them, the police are going to need to take some pictures of them," the female paramedic named Emily says and Anna nods her head in understanding.
"Would it be too much to ask if you and a female officer did everything? The only male I'm comfortable being around at the moment is my boyfriend; I want him to stay," Anna says, tightening her hold on Drew's arms.
"I'm not going anywhere, baby. Don't worry," Drew says quietly to her, placing a chaste kiss to her temple. Anna melts into his touch and nuzzles his chest.
Emily observes them with a small smile before responding to Anna, "not at all, sweetie. He's more than welcome to stay. It seems like he keeps you calm and staying calm in a situation like this is ideal," she says and looks up when the officer walks into the room.
"Good evening Ms. Hart, I'm Officer Jones and I'll be the one tending to you alongside Emily this evening. I'm going to be inspecting any injuries you have from the attack as well as take photos of your injuries. I'll also have you and…" Officer Jones stops and looks at Drew for identification.
"Drew," he replies, but as a quick afterthought adds his last name, "Galloway. I'm her boyfriend," Officer Jones nods her head.
"I'll have you and Mr. Galloway along with Mr. Farrelly write a statement for me on the incident. Now, I know it's going to be hard to write and relive what happened, but any and all detailed information you can provide for us will help build a case against Mr. Orton. That is, if you wish to press charges against him," Officer Jones explains.
"I do want to press charges against him. I did nothing to him, but I just have a feeling he did what he did because he doesn't like Drew. Drew's done nothing to him as well. Randy looked at me a certain way the other night that made me uncomfortable, but I let it go because he never physically touched me. Drew and I went out that night and when we were on our way back to our hotel room, we ended up being in the elevator with him and he looked at me again the same way he did earlier in the night and Drew verbally confronted him about it, but left it at that. And tonight, well…Drew beat him in their match and I have a feeling Randy wasn't happy about it and wanted revenge on him, so he came after me," Anna explains on why she wants to press charges.
"He sounds like an angry man, but you don't have to write all of that, just what happened tonight, okay?" Officer Jones says and Anna nods once more.
"I don't mean to sound impatient, but how long is this going to take? I just want to get her back to our room so she can relax as best as she can considering the events that happened," Drew asks and detaches himself from Anna before standing up and helping her up as well.
"Taking photos and tending to Ms. Hart's injuries won't take too long, it really depends on how long it takes for your statements. I can tell you now though that Mr. Orton will not be released this evening. He will have a hearing with the judge in the morning to determine his bail amount or if he will get bail at all. What he did tonight was a serious crime and it's not taken lightly in the state of Texas," Officer Jones tells Drew and Anna.
Anna cooperates with everything Emily and Officer asks her to do even though some of it Drew was against, but Anna silenced him even if she agreed with him, "babe, if it can be used against him, everything this past hour will be worth it. Besides, I have no doubt he'll lose his job once Stephanie and Hunter get whiff of what happened," Anna says to Drew as they make their way up to their room a little over an hour later.
"Yeah, I know. You have no idea how hard it was not to lose my shit when they were taking photos for evidence. To see you bruised up the way you are and the fact that he almost," Drew says and stops mid sentence because he can't even say the words, he doesn't even want to entertain the thought of Randy raping her, that he has to take a deep breath through his nose to calm himself, "I feel like such a huge failure at keeping my promise of protecting you and that I let you down," he beats himself up once they get into the room and lock the door behind them.
Anna kicks off her shoes and socks and carefully removes her jeans since it hurts to lean forward without her stomach hurting her, does she sit on the bed and crawl up to the pillows before summoning Drew to join her.
Being apprehensive to do so, Drew does anyway and sits up against the headboard. Anna scoots closer to him and wraps her arm around his front, snuggling up against him and relaxes into his body. "Drew stop. You do protect me. You did protect me tonight; he could have done…let me rephrase that…I have no doubt that he would have done more to me have you not come when you did.
"He," Anna breathes and closes her eyes, tightening her hold on Drew and tries to burrow herself further into him even though it's physically impossible before continuing, "when you busted through the door, he…he had his hand down my panties," she whispers.
Drew's whole entire body stiffens at her admission, then he begins to shake with so much fury that he has to release his hold on Anna and get off the bed so he doesn't accidentally hurt her. She looks up at him and tears form in her eyes as she watches him pace at the foot of the bed.
"I know he would have, had the opportunity to…fuck!" He yells, pulling at his hair and Anna shrinks further into the bed at his sudden outburst, "if I didn't break down that damn door when I did, he could have raped you, Anna and you wait to tell me now that he fucking touched you!" Drew roars.
Anna whimpers and turns away from him, hiding her face into her pillow as she lets the tears pour from her eyes. "Shit Anna, baby. I'm sorry; I didn't mean to scare you. I wasn't yelling at you. I was yelling at the situation," Drew says softly, hoping that his tone would undo what he did.
When Anna doesn't respond to him, Drew sighs quietly, "Anna baby, please look at me," he begs and she refuses to do so.
"Anna," he says quietly and walks to the side of the bed she is on and sits down next to her, but Anna shies away from him. "Baby, please; don't push me away. Not after what happened," Drew pleads, placing a hand on her thigh and she shakes it off.
"Please don't touch me," her whisper is barely audible, but Drew hears her anyway and his heart breaks at the dejection in her tone.
"Anna," Drew whispers brokenly, but Anna doesn't budge.
"Leave me alone, Drew…please."
Drew sighs in defeat and gets up from the bed and grabs his phone and room key before leaving the room to give Anna some space to calm down some.
As soon as Anna hears the door click shut, she let's the tears flow freely down her face as she wails into the pillow until exhaustion takes over. Before she completely succumbs to sleep, Anna gets out of bed to brush her teeth and relieve herself.
Upon return to bed, Anna turns off all of the lights except for the one at the door. Not even ten minutes after getting back into bed, Anna hears Drew return; he moves around quietly and minutes later climbs into bed next to her.
Thinking Anna's asleep, Drew slides up behind her and wraps an arm around her waist, holding her small body against his. Anna flips over in Drew's arms and cuddles into his chest, breathing him in.
The action takes Drew by surprise, but doesn't say anything. Instead, he tightens his hold on her and presses a kiss to her forehead before tucking her head under his chin. "I'm so sorry, baby. I didn't mean to frighten you," Drew whispers in the dark and Anna burrows deeper into his chest.
"I know," she replies just as quietly and places a kiss on his chest, "I love you," she says and she can feel his heartbeat pick up at her admission.
"I love you, too, baby. So much," Drew responds and Anna smiles gently against his chest before falling asleep.
