Chapter Twelve

"Good morning Isabella" I turn to red haired Adam. I had been avoiding him since the party. He had been trying to get my attention for the past three weeks but I wasn't really in the mood so I just pretended to be busy with James' case and now he was infront of me. It was just 8 oclock, I didn't expect him to be around.

"Hey Adam"

"I heard you won your case with that mayor's son"

"Yeah. A few days ago"

"Oh well that's good. Well since you're less busy now, I was wondering if you would like to go…"

"Hey Bella" Edward comes out of his car, his daughter right behind him. "When are we leaving?" he was blatantly ignoring Adam.

"Bella oh we're going to have so much fun. The house is huge" Lily beams at me and I stretch my hands out for her to jump into.

"Immediately Angela gets here, we can leave"

"You're leaving?" Adam asks but Edward answers instead "Yeah. We are going somewhere for the weekend. You know we've been too worked up and we need a holiday."

"We're going to Arizona" Lily grins playing with my hair.

Forks was not very far from Arizona but I had still never been there. I studied at the university of Washington but apart from this state, I hadnt been anywhere else. After the trial, Edward had suggested that we needed a break and his daughter was about to start classes in the first grade so he wanted to treat us to a weekend in Arizona. I hadnt even realised we were already in September, I've been so occupied.

"I'll be back on Monday" I didn't know why I was even telling him that.

"Oh I guess another weekend then?"

So he was about to ask me out, oh no. "Yeah another weekend. See you around." I walk inside the office Edward right behind me.

"There's something about him"

"Come on Ed, he's a nice guy. How to let him down is the issue here"

"You said another weekend. That doesn't sound like you letting him down."

I put Lily on the ground and walk up to him "You're cute when you're jealous" He grins at me "So you have a house in Arizona?"

"Phoenix to be precise and it's a family house."

"We are going to Arizona" Alice sings as she enters with Angela. I had completely forgotten Alice and Jasper were going with us. Alice had sold her house and had officially moved in with me, my house was small but we were okay.

"You're as excited as Lily" Edward laughs "I just wish Bella was as happy as you guys."

"Come on I'm excited. It's Arizona" I tried to sound enthusiastic but they were obviously not buying it.

"They have a pool Isabella, a pool and the sun, I need that." Alice puts her hands on my shoulders and I just had to smile.

"Okay if there's an emergency or anything comes up., hit me up immediately Angela. Its just Saturday you have to come to work after today, 8 oclock then you close 4" Jasper comes inside and drops his briefcase on the table.

"Barrister" Edward says patting Jasper's briefcase.

"When are we coming back?"

"Sunday evening Jazz. Calm down, Angela can handle things while we're gone." Edward puts his hand around my waist. Since James' case had ended he had been closer to me, not that I was complaining or anything but it was like sometimes he did it unconsciously. He would hold my hand if we were standing close or put his hand around my waist, it was comforting. None of us had brought up the topic of feelings or talked about that day he confessed everything and I didn't mind. Okay maybe I minded a little, it was just always hanging there and I knew one day we had to talk about what was happening but it doesnt have to be anytime soon, does it?

Jasper walks around "Okay then I think I'll have enough time to prepare for the next case."

"See Jazz is worse than me" I say folding my arms

"Jasper is weird. He's always too serious"

"I'm just preparing"

"Its two days Jasper. Angela, one of my men will be coming to keep guard or keep you company" he raises an eyebrow and smirks at her and I thought she was going to faint. 'Cullen brothers' I whisper to myself shaking my head.

"Are we going already?" Lily comes out of the kitchen pouting

"I love those boys" Alice mutters. We were sitting on sun loungers infront of the swimming pool that was behind the house. The white bungalow was even bigger than Edward's real house. They had a small garden at the side of the house and a pool behind the house. "Nope, Its just Ed I love. Jasper will never have brought us here." Yesterday, we had gone round Phoenix taking pictures and just sight seeing. Edward had hired a chef that was cooking for us, I even did a little gardening when we came back yesterday with him. It was fun to just relax and watch tv with the gang not worrying about some rapist not that I didn't miss work but drinking wine near the pool with Alice was bliss.

"Don't be so sure" Jasper brings his head out of the pool "I was bidding my time. Ed just beat me to it"

"I can't believe everybody is calling me that now" Edward comes out the back door of his house, his daughter behind him. They were both wearing matching big flowery shirts and cream shorts.

"That is so cute" I say bringing out my phone and taking a picture.

"Isabella screwed it in our brains. She calls you Ed when you're not there" Jasper shakes his wet body.

"Ugh Jazz" Alice grunts picking up a towel to wipe her body.

"I heard you say its Edward you love" he had come close to me and I didn't realize till he whispers to me.

"You must have heard wrong besides I said Ed" I whisper back to him taking a sip from my drink. He was chuckling now "Why arent you swimming? Don't tell me you cant swim Swan."

I smile at him then remove my robe. I was satisfied when I saw the look on his face as I walk to the diving board and make a perfect dive into the water. I even do a flip mid air to show how badass I am. I had been learning how to swim since I could walk, it was my forte. My mother was a swim instructor here in Arizona before she died. I used to go for different competitions but I stopped swimming when she died. My father retired and we deided to move to his hometown Forks. I had told Edward this story before but I must have left out the part where I was partly fish. I bring my head out of the water laughing then I jump back inside.

"Yay Bella" Lily was clapping.

"Show off" Jasper says but he was clapping too

I come out of the water again and wink at Edward who still had his mouth open.

The gang needed a break so I decided to add the weekend in Arizona, it was fun. Thanks for reading so far, don't forget to comment.
