AN: Special thanks goes to Story's Shadow for writing this amazing chapter.
A young Hispanic woman waits in line at an airport. An employee hands her a ticket.
"Enjoy your flight," they said.
She nodded in response and boarded the plane.
-A few hours or so later, Palm City-
The young woman walks out of the city's airport. A muscular white man is his forties with tattoos and wearing a leather jacket with a logo and a number leaned against his motorcycle. He rubbed his red beard, waiting.
"I see you still haven't trimmed that thing," the woman said.
"I like the look. Good to see you, Jade," he replied.
"You too, Mack," she said.
"Hop on, let's go for a ride," he said as he mounted his motorcycle.
Jade chuckled and walked to join him.
-Screaming Furies Club House, Palm City-
Jade and Mack sat at one of several tables. A sign that said: Screaming Furies hung over their heads. Loud metal music blared as men and women in the same leather jackets as Mack danced and laughed.
"Been in awhile since we sat at the same table. Been doing ok?" Mack said.
"Last three years have had their ups and downs. Still no closer to what I'm after," Jade replied.
"I know, kid. It's haunting, would be for anyone," Mack said.
"Well, I've been trying to work towards the haunting to go away. Been trying to train, getting better for what I plan to do," Jade replied.
"I imagine your mother isn't too fond of that," Mack said.
"It doesn't matter, this is my life. I'm not giving up on what I plan to do with it," Jade replied.
"I know. But anyways, I know you're not much for small talk," Mack said.
"You know me too well. Now, down to what you told me over the phone," Jade said.
Mack sighed and rubbed the back of his neck.
"The Street Demons have taken some ground here in the city. Constantly recruiting new members and jacking up with some dangerous toys. Word is they're at war here," Mack said.
"With the people in charge here?" Jade replied.
"Right. The ones in charge of the city have taken down some of their leaders and several of their grunts. But the bastard's keep filling ranks. There may be some you might be interested in taking down. Some say some of their leaders are still on the streets," Mack explained.
"Then there needs to be more done," Jade hissed.
"Well those already fighting them aren't going easy on them. A few out of towners are working with the local in command, no one knows who they are. All I've heard is that they're no one to mess with. But they're going after the Street Demons and that's good news for us," Mack added.
"Well, maybe we can put a little more heat on these bastard's," Jade said.
"I thought you would say that," Mack chuckled.
"The Furies willing to help?" Jade asked.
"Why do you think I called you? There's a few options we can act on," Mack said.
"Which are?" Jade asked.
"A. Rumor is they have a pile of cash in a local bank thanks to some bribes. We burn that money as a message and a monetary blow. B. They have several street vendors and dealers in certain parts of the city. We go after them and work our way from the bottom. go for the head and take out their leaders, whenever we find them," Mack explained.
"I'd love to go for C, but if you don't know who their leaders are specifically now we'd just be pulling weeds while more grow. A, is ok. Make for a nice show, but B sounds like a way to cripple where they stand," Jade commented.
"Maybe, but they can always get new recruits. Not all of them are Street Demons, just some trying to buy favor with them or work their way into the gang. They may not know anything," Mack said.
"But they could and having their 'salesmen' taken down one by one would really piss them off and make them do something stupid," Jade argued.
"True, but it's possible that one who's just buying could make us and report it to someone who doesn't care what we're doing or why," Mack replied.
"I've tangled with cops," Jade said.
"I know and we have too. But I'm talking about ones who won't care if we're Fury or Demon. Besides, that would give the Demons one less enemy," Mack argued.
"...So A it is then...fine, we make them watch as all their 'hard work' goes up in flames," Jade said.
"Got to be careful though. Making sure we're not made is a priority. Got to do this at the bank when there's less people there or when the money's in route somewhere. Or maybe there's another angle we don't see yet," Mack said.
"Doesn't matter, to me. I just wanna see their world burn," Jade said.
