He looked at his cracked screen and felt as if reality was stretching away from him, and everything and everyone was going fast, too fast, and he was in slow motion. He had this fear that his sometimes harsh way of looking at people would define him, and engulf him so effectively, that he'd never really, truly, understand another person's feelings. All day he was drowning in his feelings and had completely forgotten Bojack.

He knew it to be true with his own mother. He knew it to be true with his adopted father.

And Bojack. Well, he gave Bojack so many different chances and when he finally stopped talking to him, he almost was fine not talking to him after he moved out.

He cried silently outside the hotel, and felt out of focus, and his whole body felt dark, light, and cold.

He was cruel to Bojack today; and he did Absolutely blame himself for what happened to his husband today. Why did he tell Bojack to shut up? Why did he get so flustered and upset by his husband's passion in public?

"It was inappropriate..." He grumbled, and immediately, he chided himself for judging Bojack again. 'No... he was just being extra affectionate with me..."

He thought, 'I must save him from myself,' and felt his heart slow down to a deep, empty thud. He stood up and grappled with his fear of Bojack dying in a series of short, tense breaths.

He immediately called Hollyhock after he called a cab.

She didn't answer and Todd realized that she was at work.

He texted her: Call me ASAP. Emergency!

And he waited outside for his ride and for her to call back.

Within two minutes, Hollyhock was calling him.

"Hey Todd, what's up?" She said carefully. "I had to let my boss know there was some kind of emergency."

"Oh... Holly... God, Bojack is at a hospital. He... he... I think he was having a heart attack.. he could barely stand." Todd said with a sob.

"What happened? Is he okay? Where are you?"

"They wouldn't let me go in the ambulance. Damnit! I should've insisted that I go with him!"

Hollyhock realized that Todd was freaking out. "Listen, Todd, It's going to be okay. Was he conscious when the ambulance was there?"

"Yes."

Hollyhock sighed. "Call me once you are at the hospital. I don't think the kids need to be pulled out of school. But, please keep me updated. Todd... relax... I'm sure Bojack will be just fine."

Todd sighed heavily. "Holly... we had a terrible fight today."

"Why?"

"I was a jerk. I kinda just was emotionally unavailable today... and left him alone. I... think I caused him so much stress he... that's why..." Todd put his hand over his mouth, his eyes wide.

"Listen to me... you don't want to blame yourself... Bojack wouldn't want that. Whatever happened, that's between you two... but I sincerely doubt you put so much stress on him that he had a heart attack. You guys really love each other."

"I just freak out sometimes, Holly... and Bojack is so passionate with me all the time and-" Todd didn't finish as his ride was here.

"Shit. I got to go.. I'll call you when I'm at the hospital."

"Okay. Talk to you soon!"

They hung up and Todd got into the cab.

As he was putting on his seatbelt, he got a notification for a text.

It was from Bojack, an earlier text that didn't go through because of spotty reception.

It said: Why did you even give me a chance? I always mess up.

Todd felt tears stream down as he got dropped off at the Emergency room entrance.

He asked the desk receptionist where his husband was in very broken Italian, and she told him the room number and let him through to the patient area.

He tried not to run but he saw Bojack's room and a nurse stopped him.

She asked him something in Italian. He asked if there was anyone who spoke English, and she nodded, walking off.

A man came over and introduced himself.

"I'm Caesar, the Hospital resident doctor. Who are you here to see?"

"I'm here to see my husband, Bojack Horseman-Chavez. I'm Todd." He said out of breath.

They shook hands. "Okay. He is still undergoing treatment. Possible surgery," The doctor said.

Todd gasped. "Surgery?"

He shook his head. "Possible. Not likely."

"Is he okay? Can I see him now?"

He shook his head again, more pronounced this time. "Sorry. He's undergoing treatment now. Later."

"When?"

"In an hour. Maybe less."

Todd frowned and looked at him with a defeated look. "What's going on with him?"

"Minor heart attack."

Todd cried again. "Oh... please, can I see him?"

The doctor looked at him with a serious expression.

"Sorry. It is our policy."

Todd sobbed and took in a deep breath. "Okay. Well... can you let him know I'm here?"

"I will have his charge nurse let him know."

Todd nodded, sniffling.

He nodded curtly and walked away.

A nurse came over and she handed him a tissue. He smiled weakly and took it, wiping his nose.

"Your wife is here?" She asked in a very thick accent.

"No. My husband. Ugh... are you Bojack Horseman-Chavez's nurse?"

"Uh, no. That is Catherine." She pointed to a short lady with red hair.

Todd nodded. "Does she understand English?"

The nurse shook her head. "Not really."

Todd looked away, feeling hopeless.

He had a bad feeling that no one would tell Bojack he was here.

He texted Bojack but it didn't send correctly. He tried to call Holly, but no calls or texts were going through.

He sat down on a chair after the nurse smiled at him sympathetically, and waited.

He cried more, and then almost fell asleep but forced himself to stay awake.

Within thirty minutes, which to Todd felt like five hours, the doctor let him know that he could see him.

Todd bit his fingers nervously as they let him in the room.

Bojack was awake, but looked tired and out of it.

He walked closer and saw Bojack wasn't aware that he was there.

"Baby?" Todd asked quietly.

Bojack looked over immediately and looked shocked. "T-Todd?" He said in a strangled voice, almost sounding like he had been crying so much his voice was giving out.

"Yeah... I'm here. I'm here.. oh, honey!" Todd cried, going over to him and holding him tightly.

Bojack looked surprised but hugged back.

"Todd... where were you?" Bojack said, scratching his ear.

Todd pulled away and they looked at each other in the eye. "What? I got here almost an hour ago. Didn't anyone tell you? They wouldn't let me in to see you until your treatment was over."

Bojack sighed. "Damn. No. They didn't." He smiled at Todd, but he looked ready to cry.

"Sweetheart... look, I am so, so sorry for what... for everything. For how I mistreated you and.. damnit... you didn't deserve it." Todd said with a sob, holding him again. "I'm so glad you are okay!"

"I'm... I'm just glad that you are here. I thought I pushed you too far today." Bojack said softly, looking down.

"No, no... Bojack... oh, God. I should've just talked to you instead of blocking everything out. I think... remember what we did last night?" Todd whispered.

Bojack nodded.

"Last night... Boj, you have to believe me, I really enjoyed it. It was perfect." Todd took Bojack's hands in his. "When I woke up... I think I was having a sensory overload. I was really not in the mood for any kind of touch. The first couple of times we kissed... were good. It was when you..." Todd looked at Bojack with a pause.

Bojack had red eyes, puffy and tired. His hair was matted and looked sweaty, and he looked like he was pale somehow, and a bit like he was ready to cry any second.

Todd sighed and kissed Bojack on the neck and the cheek, then his mouth. He went closer and kissed him near his eyes.

Bojack grinned and lightly chuckled. "Oh, Todd... I missed you."

"Fuck... I missed you so much. I wanted to die if I didn't see you soon."

They both held each other for awhile.

"You're everything to me." Todd whispered.

Bojack started to cry but wiped it away furiously.

Todd looked at him concerned. "Hon?"

Bojack grimaced. "What?"

"Are you okay?"

"No..I am sorry that I told you to go be with Maude. I'm sorry I said fuck you. I'm sorry I was basically seducing you in public. I was just... I was stupid. I should've picked up on your cues."

Todd sighed. "I should've been more up front with you about what I was feeling. I was taking it out on you. I was such an asshole!" Todd said more to himself than Bojack, and it made him chuckle.

"Oh.. baby. You're an asshole, huh? Then what does that make me?"

Todd laughed along with Bojack. "A tall asshole!"

They laughed louder.

Todd grinned at him and they held hands.

"Thank you for calling the ambulance for me."

Todd shook his head. "I just wish I could've gone with you. And no... you were not at fault at all for today. You were just... being Bojack. And you were sweet."

Bojack shrugged, feeling a little better, but still very much exhausted. "I just... last night... you were fucking Brilliant... and I wanted to tell ... well, show everyone how much I loved you."

"I got to be honest. When you said I was so great, it made me happy. Yet, I was so uncomfortable in general that I just knew it wasn't going to... I wasn't going to be my real self. I wish I could've just been honest. I thought it would go away."

"So this aversion to like... the whole sensory overload thing, is it a sex thing?" Bojack asked gently. "Or is it like... everything?"

"Its about too much noise, too much touch, too much everything... like you said."

"Well... the next time you start feeling that way even a little bit.. let me know. I will give you space."

"Oh... honey, I really appreciate you, and I promise I'll also stop being an ass when I can't handle simple things. Ugh... this was not what I promised to you in my vows yesterday. Anyway, I hope you can get out of here, soon. The doctor told me you might need surgery. Ugh... how do you feel now?" Todd said softly.

"Ehh... not the worst. The doctor said it was only a mild heart attack. They gave me nitroglycerin, aspirin, and some oxygen therapy. But, still, they told me to go to a cardiologist when we get back to the States."

Todd nodded. "I will find you the best doctor, hon. God... I was freaking out. When they told me I couldn't go in the ambulance with you... it killed me. I was so... I was really worried about you. I basically broke my phone trying to call Holly and get a ride to the hospital."

He took out his phone and showed Bojack the cracked screen.

"Oh... I see. We will get it fixed back in LA, don't worry baby."

Todd smiled. "You're wonderful."

Bojack sighed. "Todd... so are you. Once they let me go... we gotta have the best damn rest of our time here. We're going to tear this place up!"

Todd grinned. "Totally!"

They both hugged again, yet Todd was silently freaking out-thinking about Bojack's heart, metaphorically and literally.

He would have to take care of both.
