A week passed before she found out anything. Gen gave her the news, the ministry's verdict of the incident. Twelve muggles killed in a terrible blast; Peter Petigrew murdered by his childhood friend. She told her about Azkaban, the name alone making Anna shiver. The Daily Prophet went on about it for days. Anna couldn't bring herself to read the articles.
A week after that, she was brave enough to return to her home, and began fixing it up after the death eaters attack. She found the locket on her bed, left there by Sirius, and after a moment, she threw it deep into her cupboard where she hoped she would never have to look at it again.
She started work, falling back into her old routine. She started hanging out with friends again, working on her art.
Two years down the line and she was doing art full time. Already her pieces had been featured in two prestigious art exhibits in London. Gen was engaged, and the wedding was in a couple of months.
More years passed. She became a godmother to Gen and Mark's twins. She started travelling, and bought a holiday house in Paris. When Gen's kids, Rose and Amber turned 11, and they received their Hogwarts letters, their muggle aunt was there to see it.
That was the year that he came back.
Such news had alluded to her, as she had been in Japan. When Anna arrived home it was already night time. She dumped her luggage in the living room, walking into the kitchen and brewing the kettle. She watched it sleepily, still pretty jetlagged, and it was a while before she realised that there was someone knocking on the door.
She walked back down the hall suspiciously, reminding herself to install a peephole as she reluctantly opened the door.
A blast of cold air hit her, but Anna barely noticed. Standing on her doorstep, 12 years later, was none other than Sirius Black.
"I promised." Was all he said, before Anna launched herself into his arms.
"I just didn't think it'd take me twelve years."
"It doesn't matter." she reassured him, happy tears appearing in both of their eyes. "You're back."
She pulled back so that she could study him properly. He still had the long brown hair, and the dazzling smile. He'd grown a beard sometime in between escaping Azkaban and getting to her.
And his eyes. His eyes were the same as the ones she had fallen in love with all those years ago.
In a Muggle Coffee Shop.
Didn't really know how to end it...so there you go :)
