Y'all ready for some Yamato? Enjoy!

It starts in Marco's pov

/======================================================================/

Do you remember what you said...

My eyes widened as the lab blew up in flames. Through all the smoke, I could barely see anything. Only an unknown figure trudging out of the room. Their eyes were the color of blood and their body was wrapped in bandages. Their horns curved at six inches long and their tail swayed with their footsteps. Red.

Her body looked like a doll, controlled and broken. The sight made my whole body shudder. She continued to walk out of the flames, unaffected by their heat, when suddenly, she vanished. Another large crash was heard. My eyes trailed up to the ceiling, it was broken.

Shit.

My feet moved before my mind could comprehend what was going on. It looks like I wasn't the only one. Izo appeared by my side. Along with Shanks, Ace, Thatch, Sabo, and Law.

When we opened the door to the top deck, all us were breathless. The sun burned our eyes, but we took the pain. She was more important. My eyes adjusted to the figure crouched down to the top deck. Her knees pressed against the wood and her fingers scraped on it.

She looked different, beyond different. The parts of her body that weren't bandaged were black, and her left eye was blackened as well. While the rest of her face stayed the same. "DAGGER!" The redhead's screams echoed in the heavens, shaking the boat and making gusts of wind blow at us.

"Red!" Ace called, reaching his hand out. Law immediately pulled it back, "that isn't Red." He mumbled in a grim tone. His teeth compressed at the sight. Ace snapped his head to Law with tear filled eyes, "yes it is! She is there! Right there!"

"Watch." Law muttered.

The redheaded woman jumped into the air, still screaming her older brother's name. She landed on the island we were docked at and started to create destruction. My feet landed me to Pops as I tried to peer from the ship to see what was going on.

Giant rocks were being tossed, screams were echoing, and cries were sprouting. She sounded in pain… I have to- "you can't do anything about that." My head snapped to the other redhead. Nako stood by my side, dreading the sight before him.

"Why not, yoi? She is right there." I tried to reason, swallowing the trembles and desperation in my throat.

"She will die if she continues to move like that. That is her mental conflict lashing out. You can't interfere." The youngest said through his teeth. That reason was not good enough for me. My hands gripped the banister on the deck, getting ready to push myself forward.

"Marco, you can only watch. You must not go close to her."

My head tilted up at the order; blue orbs clashed with Pop's eyes. "Why damnit, yoi!? I want to help her!" I yelled at my father. None of this makes sense! How do they expect me to watch her as she destroys herself?!

"How do you think Red would feel if she saw you like that? Her mind is fighting against her! Seeing you won't do anything but hurt her!" Nako shouted.

Could I cause more harm to Red? Can I do anything right for her, dammit. Hands gripped mine, "lets watch together." Izo said. For the first time in weeks, the pretty man spoke. It felt weird hearing his voice again, but I wasn't complaining.

"Us too." Killer, Luffy, Ace, and Sabo said in unison.

Another large crash made everyone jerk. I turned back to the people behind me, from Law's face, I could tell he was coming too. "Alright, yoi." We hopped off the deck and dashed to the center of the island where Red was.

Her screams made my chest ignite in pain. I wasn't the only one, all us hated the noise.

Killer, Sabo, Ace, and Luffy have known the redhead since she was a kid. They all know her relationship with the brother. How she looked up to him like he was the star shining in her life. They all know how much she loved him. To see him gone…

Izo and I kept moving forward, both of us trying to block out the screams. They were born from utter agony.

When we saw Red, all us froze. She was gripping her redhead locks, trembling from her inner thoughts. But, instead of saying Dagger's name, she was saying Kid's and Blue's as well. Her shaking vision slid across the ground as if something were in front of her. From her face, I could tell that whatever it is, it's painful.

Suddenly, something sparkled in the sky. Next thing I know, a large and unknown figure crashed onto Red. My body jerked from the action, but Ace, Sabo and Izo pinned me to the ground. "If she sees you, she will picture you dead." Sabo said through his teeth. His round eyes were foggy from the tears within them.

My arms tried to push me off the ground, "I don't care! I need to help her, yoi!" More force added to my frame, it was Law. He wrapped my legs in sea prism cuffs and gripped them together. "Dammit, you and Red are so stubborn!" He grunted through his teeth.

The fog around Red and the figure cleared, revealing a masked woman over eight feet. She wore a sleeveless top with a diamond pattern on each side, red hakama pants, and sandals. Red horns peered from her white hair. The white locks faded to light green, then blue.

She removed her mask, exposing bright orange eyes and prominent lashes. Her eyebrows were thin and arched. Her skin was more tanned on her arms than her face. Who is she?

Her hand gripped at Red's neck, "what the hell are you doing?!" The faded-haired woman screamed. A burst of Haki came from the unknown woman. I was surprised when another burst acted against it. The black in Red's face started to subside. "Yamato!" She yelled back, semi confused on why the woman was here.

That is Yamato?

The friend clenched her fist, "you're going to end up killing yourself you moron! This is what happened a while ago! Nothing about you has changed!" Red squirmed under her friend's clutch. Her hands gripped the arm on her neck, "let go of me Yamato! This is none of your fucking business!"

"He is dead Red! Dagger is dead!"

Yamato pov

I watched as my words impacted my best friend. The grip on my arm loosened as her body started to shake again. It's painful, seeing her like this. The girl who got me out of my shackles… only to put herself in her own.

She doesn't even look human anymore. The black that left her face pushed itself back in. It made a scream come from the redhead, and before I knew it, I was sent flying towards the Moby Dick by her hand.

My ship is a kilometer away, I jumped here when I saw the destruction taking place on the island. Now that I have 'sworn my allegiance' to my father, I can roam around the new world freely.

My back crushing wood made me groan. Of course she has gotten stronger, that is all the woman ever does. A smudge of black flickered in the sky. Quickly, I grabbed the club on my back, blocking the red scythe wheeler from chopping my head off.

One of her eyes was black again, meaning she had lost control. Dammit. With both hands on my weapon, I was able to push the woman back, sending her back to the island. Strength wise, I overpower her. But Red is flexible and fast. She won't be easy to beat.

I shook myself out of the indent I made on the ship and jumped to the top deck. When I landed, everyone was staring at me. I ignored the looks and turned to the two men I wanted to see. "You're Red-Haired Shanks and Whitebeard, right?" Both men looked at me with confusion. Before I could clear the confusion, I sensed her presence coming closer.

A scythe spun in my direction at lightning speed, but with nobody touching it. I jumped back to avoid the blade but was hit by a fist plummeting into my side. My hand tightened on my club while my other gripped her to keep her still. The metal of my weapon slammed into her ribs.

She flew into a wall, spewing out blood like a broken faucet. The sight was hard to look at, but Red has to let her anger out somehow. I found it strange that her devil fruit wasn't healing her but dismissed it. The only one who knew how the devil fruit works is dead… Dagger.

Red has told me many stories about her older brother. She couldn't help it. It's soul crushing to see her as she is now.

Her red weapon returned to her hand as she stepped out of the hole her body made in the wall. Once again, we clashed. Our bodies moved so fast; our minds couldn't keep up. Most of our moves were based on reflexes and instinct, with our goals driving us. She needs to get better. I won't let her stay this way.

My club caught her left arm before slamming it back down to the ground of the island. The metal spikes stabbed into her pale limb. Her blood dripped out as she squirmed. "Give up Red! He is gone! There is nothing you can do about it! There is nothing anyone can do about it!"

Red didn't listen. Her legs pulled back to her chest then launched at my stomach. The impact had me choke out crimson liquid with a flinch. Her left arm rammed into my face while I was mid air. My eyes widened as I saw her right arm rip off her body and stay on my weapon. She… she isn't even human anymore… shit. I didn't think she would go this far again.

In our last fight, both of us went all out. Her body turned into something inhuman… the- she, no- she can't do that!

Red's blood-soaked hand traced a circle on the ground of the island. I can't let her do that, she is trying to use her weapon's last form. Does she not care about the fact she is missing an arm? When my feet hit the ground, I lunged forward. She pushed out her hand for a punch, but I was able to dodge using my observation Haki. My back arched before twisting to slam my club into her head.

The impact made her back hit the ground and her body shudder. The hit was making her body shut down, trying to gain some control over the situation. But her devil fruit had different plans. A scream pushed past my best friend's lips as a dark beam shot out of her. And it keeps getting worse.

At Yamato's ship

My eyes fluttered to the beam coming from the island we are meant to go to. I recognize that light, that power. It is the aura of the devil itself, it's Red's power. "Kiku, is everything going to be ok?" My head turned to the six-year-old child on my lap.

Tama and I came with Yamato. It was easy since she has a lot of authority now. When we saw the papers, we had to see Red, knowing the woman was in extreme emotional pain. Tracking the redhead was easy, we had her viver card ready to go. Now, we have to wait and see how it turns out.

My hand patted the child's hair, "let's hope so Tama."

The ship stopped in front of Whitebeard's. I jumped down with Tama in my arms and faced the emperors. "Whitebeard." I muttered. The man looked at me with scanning eyes, "you're Izo's sister, did you come for Red?" I nodded.

Izo jumped onto the deck. Him and the others decided it was best not to get involved with two emperors' daughters' fighting. But of course, Marco wasn't agreeing. Izo gripped the first commander tighter to drag him on the ship. He froze when he saw me, "hey big brother." I mumbled.

He didn't move, he didn't speak, he only stared at me with wide eyes. A crash cut through the air, next thing I see is Red and Yamato pushing into the sky above. Neither of them can fly, my guess is they both are starting to wear each other out. Now their strength is matched.

From the time Yamato jumped off the ship to now means it's been half an hour. They're not even close to done. "How long is this going to last?" My head snapped to the voice, it was Whitebeard's.

A sigh escaped my lips, "three days at least… that's how long it lasted last time, but." I stopped for a second when a large shadow appeared over the sky. It was only a cloud, but it gave me a bad feeling. "This fight will end in a few more seconds."

Everyone's eyes followed my line of sight. Above us displayed Yamato and Red, getting ready to initiate the final move in their fight. Neither had their weapons, Yamato's was dropped during one of Red's attacks. Red can't activate her's anymore with her blood acting against her.

Both were struggling to bring air into their lungs. Glaring at each other with different emotions. Yamato's pants were ripped, along with her sleeveless top. A patch of blood leaked from her arm. She clasped her hand over it and winced.

Red was in the same shape. She still had no arm, letting the blood ooze out of what is left of the limb. Her bandages were off her body, only covering her chest and waist

The best friends harden their fists with Haki. Another pulsing sensation filled my body, that is when my eyes focused on the sky above them. The clouds were splitting into two, as if the heavens were scareed for what was about to come. A thick, deep line cut across the sky as thunder clouds formed. That isn't a good sign… they could die.

"That only happens when two emperor's fight." Thatch whispered in shock.

"They are the daughters of one. Kaido and Shanks."

A thunder echoed across the forest as a warning. A warning that massive destruction was about to take place. It made Tama scrunch closer to my body. The small child trembled in fear for what was to come. And to be honest, I am too.

I wasn't there when the two fought, but I saw the aftermath of it. Yamato explained it to me while Red was unconscious. She said that Red won, but from her injuries you could tell it ended in a draw.

How the two women have so much power is beyond me, but I know it will not end well… "Red! Yamato! Stop please! You'll kill each other!" My scream made the air run cold as I backed away. They were right above the ship, meaning whatever they do above, we will feel below.

This is dangerous, too dangerous for- My frame froze when I felt the loss of heat on my body. I looked in front of me with wide eyes. "Tama! Stay back!" A shock wave pushed me back to the other side of the ship. Tama gripped onto the banister to keep her from receding.

No, I'm too late, "Get Tama! She is in danger!" My shout was to anyone who was listening. My eyes closed subconsciously from the dirt and dust flying through the air. No, no, Tama…

Red pov in her mind

My body was pushed to the ground by the black chains coming from the scar on my back. Blood flowed out of almost every part of my frame. The screen in front of me showed me fighting Yamato, yet I wasn't in control.

Numb, empty, hollow, I am now all those things. No matter how much Yamato hits me, I can't feel it. I feel like a zombie, and not in a good way. I don't want to hurt her, I don't want to hurt anyone.

"Red!"

A voice rattled in my inner thoughts. I knew that voice. It was always giggling and playing, being as happy as can be. Now it sounded distressed and worried. Tama… why is she here? She can't be here, not when I'm like this. I tried moving my arms, but the chains only tightened.

That didn't stop me from struggling.

My outer body lunged towards Yamato, and she did the same. I knew that as soon as our fists connect, it would be over. The shockwave will end up hurting Tama and everyone below me. Dammit, I'm so stupid! Why can't I just deal with it.

Why can't I just deal with it? It's a fact, and undeniable fact.

My body suffocated and my throat felt as if it were about to collapse. More tears trailed down my face from the memory of him in my arms. Even after all this time, I couldn't save him. I couldn't save anyone. I'm worthless, useless. What is the point of being powerful if I can't save anyone?

I rather be weak and helpful then be strong and useless. His blood is in my hands, Blue's blood is in my hands…

'Tell me Red. Have you done it?'

My body shuddered from the voice, it wasn't Dagger's voice, it was Blue's. The tone was light and soft yet stung like poison.

'I don't believe you have Red.'

For a second, my heart stopped, along with my tears. My head turned at a slow rate, eyes wide out of shock, and lips parted. In front of me, or the spiritual version of me, stood Blue.

She had jet black hair that ended at her shoulders, with a long braid in front of her torso. She was as short as I could remember, only about 5'4. Her chest was flat, but her hips curved. Her arms were covered by baggy sleeves connected to her tight dress. The end of the black and blue dress stopped at her mid thigh. Long socks coated her shin with small boots on her feet. Her orbs were a blueish silver, just like how I remembered.

As always, the small girl held an emotionless expression. Her gem colored eyes only scanned my body to see my reaction. Her chin pointed, and her cheek bones high. Unlike Law, her eyes were big, but the frame was still sharp. Her skin was as tan as his and had tattoos covering her clothed torso.

I know she is only a figment of my imagination but seeing her made me choke. "Blue." She pursed her lips at the tears flowing from my eyes. "Stop crying it looks weird." She blurted. Her arms over her chest and her foot tapping the ground. "Answer my question." She said.

After she took a few steps closer to me, I looked away. "I don't know what you mean by that." What does she mean? Have I lost it? Lost what? The things that I have lost are endless, and that includes my sanity.

Small doll-like hands grabbed at my face. My dark eyes met her light ones. "Have you lost your way Red?" The question made my lip shudder. That was the question I would ask Blue when she was sick. The woman never understood what it meant… but now she does.

"I-I don't-"

"Stop Red!"

The chains on my body shattered from the voice. The dark room my spirit stayed in started to crack. My mind attached back onto my body, making my devil fruit subside for good. Since my devil fruit retreated, I could now feel all the pain when Yamato's fist connected with my face. The impact sent me flying across the ship.

My face ate wood as my body jerked and bounced on the ground. I was now back to normal and it was all because of that voice. The voice answered Blue's question, 'have you lost your way, Red'

Soon enough, my frame went to a stop when it slammed into a wall. Though I felt the pain, my face didn't show it. The severed arm I once had started to regenerate, along with the wounds on my body.

Steam poured out of every pore in my frame until my healing became natural. All this happened because of one voice. Marco's voice.

Yamato landed on top of me, but before she could hit me, she stopped herself. My dazed expression must have triggered something within her. A smaller figure fell onto me as well, it was Tama. Her head pressed between my breasts as she sobbed sentences I couldn't understand.

Using my arms, I propped myself. My body was still shaking as I tried walking across the deck, but it didn't stop me. My vision was blurry, and everything was quiet. I couldn't smell anything. I was walking aimlessly until arms wrapped around the front of my body.

I knew it wasn't Marco, it was something different, someone better. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry you had to witness his death dear. I should have been there!" Makino cried, gripping onto my frail frame harder. My knees dropped to the ground, my mother fell with me.

We sat in the middle of the deck as she cried on top of me. Another pair of arms wrapped around my side, "sis… I-I wasn't there either! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!" Nako stuffed his head into my shoulder. I haven't seen my little brother in so long. He travels everywhere. His dream is to find the mysteries of the world and solve them, he is like a younger Dagger.

Another warmth added onto me, "Dem Dem." My dad whispered. His head perched on top of my own, giving me small kisses. I don't know if the kisses were to relax me or him, but either way, they helped.

When a final pair of arms wrapped around me, they held me tighter then the rest. A pair of arms that I thought I would never feel again, they were Kid's. That is what broke me. I fell into a sobbing mess as my family clung onto me. Holding me, kissing me, and apologizing. Kid must have woken up with all the noise me and Yamato made. I can't believe he is ok. "I-I thought I lost you too Kid!" I screamed along with me cries.

My twin brother pushed his face farther into the back of my neck, "you did it Red." My body stiffened from his words, "you kept your promise. You did protect me… Thank you… Red… Dagger. Thank you."

...Don't lose your way.

/====================================================================/

This whole story was thought of while listening to Before My Body Is Dry, Kill La Kill theme song.

Three more chapters left, might be four since I'm leaning to a continuation cause I love writing Red. If I write the continuation, I am going to write more stories with her and Marco with Izo and Thatch as a side.

I can't believe I'm ending my second fanfic ever written so soon!

Like, comment, or Whatever!
