Chapter 32: Sour Blood

"Are you awake?" a voice penetrated the warm shroud of drowsiness that had encapsulated him. He could feel a demon's warm body against his own, she was laying on her side in the crook between his body and right arm.

Her head was resting on his collar, he had his head ontop of hers. The cushion of her loose white hair was a pleasant feeling.

"I'm taking that as a no then" he heard the voice giggle, she adjusted her position and rubbed her face on his skin, letting loose a small pleasant sigh. He was in limbo; between falling asleep and waking up. He subconsciously moved his arm to hold her tighter to his body, he noticed that the demon was naked, pressing against him.

The Helltaker had wanted a night on his own, but unfortunately in the demonic household that was an extremely rare occurrence. He had kicked Beelzebub out of his room, collapsing into bed exhausted. He was happy that he could actually rest for once...as well as having the entire bed to himself.

The man had fallen asleep as soon as he had hit the mattress, kicking off all his clothes before he passed out. The long hot walk with Cerberus and Lucifer had exhausted everyone involved. The five had just returned before the four who had spent the day at the beach, everyone but the two sisters were knackered.

"That's why I don't do exercise" Zdrada had said pointing at the Helltaker. The man was slumping ever further down the sofa, it was a slippery slope once he had added alcohol onto exhaustion and drowsiness.

However, even when he expressed his desire for loneliness, he wasn't alone for long. As he slept, a demon had stumbled all the way from her room into his, undressed herself and attached her body to the Helltaker's.

He had awoken briefly needing to use the bathroom, but as he went to sit up he noticed the demon asleep, dribbling on his chest. "Oh Justice...how did you even get in here?" he whispered, laying back down not wanting to wake the slumbering demon. Guess I'll go pee later...

Now, he was slowly regaining consciousness, feeling Justice's gentle breathing on his neck. He moaned quietly, using his left hand to rub his eyes and his brow.

"Hey, sleepy head" Justice reached her hand up to feel his neck and face, using her thumb to rub his cheek, tracing the outline of his lips after. She received a grunt from the Helltaker, he moved his right hand onto Justice's backside giving it a playful squeeze. She let loose a quiet moan, biting her bottom lip.

"How did you get in here?" he asked, eyes still closed, the warm drowsiness still lingering on both of them .

"I know my way around this house" she spoke softly.

"And know your way into my bed" he smiled. Justice remained silent, the demon lifted her leg up, brushing it against his and placing her knee near the inside of the Helltaker's thigh.

"Couldn't sleep?" he asked again, hoping to discover why Justice joined him in the middle of the night.

"No, I was sleep walking. I just happened to find my way up three flights, take all my clothes off and crawled into bed with you. Purely by accident".

Her sarcasm was intense.

"I can actually believe that coming from you" he joked back, Justice made her sharp horns gently stab into his neck as payback.

"I wanted to be here dude" she confessed finally, the man grinning at her honesty.

"You know I did want the room to myself?" the Helltaker began, moving the pillow he was resting his head on to become more comfortable.

"But? I feel a but coming" Justice's soft voice was luring him back to sleep.

"But I'm glad you're here. You are the quietest sleeper" he admitted.

He wasn't lying; Lucifer snored, Modeus kept him awake for...sexual reasons, Pandemonica kicked him while she slept, Judgement would starfish across the bed or cling to him tightly, Beelzebub would also cling tightly to him, but she would constantly flinch or spasm while she slept.

Evidence of a life of torture, plagued by nightmares. The only times he had slept with Azazel and Malina, himself and his cuddling companion had both passed out on the sofa. He had never slept with Zdrada or Cerberus...and he didn't plan to.

Justice on the other hand did not snore, she didn't move in her sleep, she breathed quietly, she clung to him gently, she was perfect.

"Is that so?" she smiled, still not moving from their original position, he used his chin and rubbed the top of her head. She giggled at this gesture, giving him a couple of kisses along his neck and then cheek.

He still hadn't opened his eyes, Justice had noticed his breathing was becoming slower and deeper.

"What time is it?" he was slurring his words slightly.

"It's just gone past seven" her soft voice called to him.

"Wake me up...at...ten".

"Mkay boss". He opened his eyes slightly, the last thing he saw was Justice's pale eyes appearing in front of him.

He felt her lips pressing against his.

"Good Morning Justice!" his cheerful voice came from the en-suite bathroom, it was the Awesome Demon's turn to feel drowsy. She turned her head sluggishly to face the door where his voice was coming from.

"Morning..." she muttered. The blind demon buried her face deeper into his pillow, taking a deep intake of his scent.

"I'm feeling good! I'm feeling better than good!" his enthusiastic voice was tearing Justice from the last remnants of her sleep.

"Guess I can't convince you to come back to bed" her soft voice reaching his ears, followed by a yawn.

"So much for waking me up at ten" he teased. All he received was a moan from the demon in his bed, she could stay in bed all day, the beach walk had exhausted her.

"If you wake up I'll make you breakfast" he smiled at himself in the mirror, combing his hair back.

"Deal" Justice's tired voice sounded.

"Where are you by the way?".

"In the bathroom babe", he was adjusting his red shirt now, placing the sunglasses on his face. He had decided to shower straight away, donning a red shirt and white suit pants complimented with a black belt.

He smirked as he sprayed a tiny amount of aftershave on his neck, dabbing a few drops onto his wrists too. The man had finalized his outfit, a strange of wave of positivity and enthusiasm had come over during the last three hours sleep he had. He couldn't wait to start the day.

He was so chipper that before he left the bathroom he spoke without thinking.

"Hey! Who's that handsome guy?" he had pointed at the mirror and then turned his back on it. "Hello nine-one-one emergency, there's a handsome guy in my house" he pretended to speak into a phone, using his fingers in the shape of one. He paused for dramatic suspense. "Oh, huh, wait a second, cancel that...It's only me".

"The fuck was that?!" Justice had listened to the entire thing baffled, she turned her head to face the approaching footsteps. The Helltaker entered his bedroom to see a naked Justice wrapped in their blanket, he tried not to stare.

"A little sketch from a cartoon" he smiled, the man went over to his watch draw, picking one to wear for the day.

"Awesome" Justice made eye contact with him, those pales eyes, her open mouth, a slight gleam of sweat on her skin.

Part of him wanted to leap back into bed with her, she was always hard to resist. But he had plans for today, for he belonged to the Sour Demon.

"I just want you to know, if I didn't have plans today, I would-".

"Oh don't worry, feelings mutual daddy-o". The demon had cut him off before he could finish his sentence, a mischievous smirk growing across both of their faces.

They were sharing the same lewd thoughts.

"Anyway, plenty of time for that later..." she pulled the duvet up to cover her lower torso. Calm down J! Jesus! her mind ordered itself.

"Where's my breakfast then?" she teased moving the subject swiftly forward.

"Coming right up Milady" he smiled, the man walked towards the bed. He leant down, briefly kissing Justice and then moving away, but the demon placed both hands on either side of his face and drew him in for a second one, even more passionate than the first.

Her arms then wrapped around his neck drawing him further down into the bed, he almost fell ontop of her, Justice was using her entire weight.

"You smell good...really good" the demon said once their lips separated. She released her hold on him, allowing him to stand up straight.

"That's just my natural musk, how come you've never noticed?" he joked, moving the duvet to cover her exposed chest. "

I'll call you when you're breakfast is ready", he struggled to move his feet but eventually the Helltaker drew himself away, heading for the door.

If he stayed any longer he would have spent eternity with her.

"Thanks babe" the demon called after him.

Dear Mr Anderson, I write to thank you personally for your email in regards to Amy Johnson's position within the 77th precinct. In response to the first half of your email; I have already read over Amy's service record and know that you two have a history of service. Amy is one of my best officers and with this refreshing perspective you have provided on her overall profile, I can guarantee her job's safety.

The Helltaker read the next paragraph, happy that he had gotten the message through to his old captain.

However, the only reason I even opened this email was because I once respected you. I know the things you have done, I've seen how conflict has shaped you. This email will delete itself five minutes after you have read it, I have already deleted the email you have previously sent. I want this to be our last correspondence with one another, I wish to leave no trace we ever interacted.

He was sweating slightly, leveraging a finger into the collar of his shirt to relieve the sudden tightness around his neck.

"Oh boy...there's more" he said aloud, thankful there was no-one else in the kitchen to hear.

Don't think I have forgotten your insubordination during our day's in the line of duty. If I had my way, you would have been tried for treason. You may hide behind your impressive service record, but I know the real you. The man that can't be killed, the man who claims to have 'lost his memory', the man who thinks he can't be touched. You may have been one of my squad members before you left for the private army, but you will never be a proper soldier.

Consider this your last 'favour' for her.

Do not try to contact me or Lieutenant Johnson ever again.

Sincerely Captain Marcus Dean

The Helltaker sighed deeply, dropping his phone loudly onto the kitchen counter-top. He grabbed the back of his head with both hands, the frustration building fast. "Fuck" he groaned, kicking the small grey bin as he paced the kitchen.

No more getting off with a warning.

Amy would no longer bail them out.

Who the fuck was Dean to tell him never to meet his friend?

The Helltaker was so blinded by his frustration and rage, that he completely overlooked the second piece of good news within the email. He was going over the message in his mind, revisiting every sentence. He stopped dead in his tracks as he paced, the realisation that he missed something was slowly dawning on him.

The man leapt over to the counter-top where his phone was, desperately grabbing for the black smartphone and opening his email again.

"Of fucking course" he sighed. The message had indeed deleted itself, Dean was not lying.

"Fuck you Dean".

He was pretty sure he read that Amy had become a Lieutenant, that was surprisingly...fast.

Had they fired someone else to give her the position? He was happy for her either way, even if it threw him under the bus. Not that it mattered anyway. She would do the same for him...

Right?

"So, I hear you and Malinka are going out today" Zdrada asked in a carefree manner, she always acted like she didn't care but she truly wanted to know every detail.

"Yeah, we're going to an arcade, I know she'll love it" he was smiling, back turned to the Bitch Demon. The man was just finishing cleaning the bowls, utensils and plates used for today's breakfast. His huge black apron was covered in flour, pancake mix and a splatter of chocolate.

"Still pissed at you" Zdrada spat at him, the Helltaker instantly knowing it wasn't true.

"If you have to say it, then it isn't true" he fired back, placing his trusty frying pan on the draining board to dry. The man now moved to clean down the surfaces he had stained during his preparations and cooking.

"I can't believe that fucker is going on a date before I am" she ignored his point, putting the last piece of pancake into her mouth with a fork.

"Wow, jealous much?" he replied, he made a sniggering Judgement finally laugh. The grey demon stopping once she realised Zdrada was giving her a death stare,

"Something funny bitch?".

"Is poor Zdrada feeling left out?" Judgement didn't hesitate to retaliate.

As Judgement reveled in her successful insult, Zdrada kicked the high prosecutor's chair leg. She was leaning back, balancing on the back two legs, once Zdrada had kicked one of the legs Judgement almost fell off her chair.

Thankfully she reacted fast enough and leant forward, her chair landing on all four legs, a severely embarrassed and panicked high prosecutor sat on top. She death stared the Bitch Demon as she regained her breath, the split second of falling had sent her heart rate through the roof.

"You were saying?" Zdrada smirked at her friend, the high prosecutor bared her canine fangs hissing in response. The other demon simply returned the hiss displaying her entire mouth filled with sharp teeth in a toothy smirk. The Helltaker chuckled quietly, he took off his black apron and threw it into the giant laundry basket.

"You girls..." the man shook his head, turning to look at them both. He dried his hands on a white tea-towel.

"You can fuck off too dickwad" Zdrada turned and gave him the finger, he simply smirked back.

"Love you too Zdrada" he said, knowing that this would make her incredibly uncomfortable. The demon in question simply scoffed, facing away from the man, the embarrassment of the sentence overloading her mind.

The Helltaker began walking into the lounge to talk to Malina, but something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye.

Orange light was slowly spilling from the hallway, sparks were flying off of the ceiling and fading into nothingness. He had glanced into the hallway and had to double take when he saw the faint pulsating orange glow, the beginnings of a portal were slowly starting to form on the ceiling of the hallway, just before the stairs.

Someone was arriving at the demonic household...uninvited.

"High Prosecutor, are we expecting any guests?" he spoke quickly, eyeing the knife block and quickly stepping over to it, grasping the hilt of the largest and sharpest knife within it. Judgement, upon seeing him do this, sprang into action, looking through the doorway of the kitchen into the hallway.

She threw her arms back and manifested her claws, conjuring a white chain into her right hand.

"That's a negative" her eyes not moving from the portal that was expanding in size.

"Who do you think it is? Friend or foe?" he was trying to remember if everyone was accounted for in the household, none of his demons had told him that they were coming or going.

"I can't say for sure" Judgement took a step forward and assumed a defensive position, the Helltaker coming to her side and preparing himself for whatever was coming through the ceiling. The man flipped the knife to an upside down position, catching it in his right hand.

"Let's assume it's foe".

"A knife ain't gonna do shit" Zdrada stood up from her chair and moved to lean against the table, crossing her arms.

"Need me to do anything?" she smiled, licking her lips with her long tongue.

It had been too long she had seen some action

The portal was almost at it's full size now, the Helltaker's grip on the large knife's hilt tightened.

"Get everyone else to safety if this thing kills us" the Helltaker grinned half joking.

Suddenly a huge hulking brute fell through the portal, he landed on his feet and stood up straight. The man was wearing a huge black suit jacket and suit pants, a white shirt and tie, there was a withered white flower placed on his lapel.

His giant shoes were of otherworldly make, black leatherish shoes similar to brogues that had small pentagrams engraved within the material.

He brushed his shoulder of dust as the portal closed above him, the man had landed so that he had his back to the Helltaker and Judgement. Slowly, the mysterious stranger turned around to face them.

The Helltaker already loosening his grip on the knife, a grin forming on his face. Although Judgement remained in her combat stance she was the first to break the silence.

"Behemoth?" she said stunned, the high prosecutor had never seen him in such a smart outfit.

"Who else would it be?" he grinned at her then at the Helltaker. "Some welcome" he gestured to their weapons.

"You son of bitch, didn't think to call ahead?" the Helltaker dropped his weapon on the hallway table and approached his new friend, giving the demon a strong handshake.

"You did tell me to visit anytime".

"And that's how I ended up here, I asked them to just copy the last location of Lucifer's portal" Behemoth smiled, he currently had both of his hands occupied by the three Cerberus all fighting for the attention of this new man.

The entire family had gathered in the lounge now, all of them welcoming their guest.

Malina was sat in her chair ignoring everybody, Zdrada was leaning on the arm of her sister's chair smoking slowly, she also had nothing to contribute. On the sofa, Modeus, the three Cerberus, Behemoth, Judgement and Pandemonica sat.

On the recliner, the Helltaker and Lucifer were sat, both listening. Justice and Beelzebub were both leaning on the back of the dual recliner.

Everyone was listening to Judgement and Behemoth chatting, interjecting into the conversation every now and then. The Helltaker smiled seeing the high prosecutor completely unwinding, relaxing properly, it must be refreshing seeing a new face in the demonic household.

He was also smiling at the fact that Cerberus was not bothering him for once, Justice also noticed this, listening to their tails moving rapidly.

The blind demon was leaning on her elbows on the back of the smaller leather sofa, resting her head on her interlocked hands. She was behind the Helltaker on his right, the demon moved her mouth to whisper into his ear.

"I think they have found a new favourite" she smirked while saying it.

"Hopefully he can take the rest of you with him" the Helltaker's clever comeback making Justice giggle, tapping his shoulder with her gloved hand.

"You aren't getting rid of me that easily" she whispered again.

"Oh, I must say-" he was speaking to the Helltaker now, "Vassago conveys his best wishes, giving you a million thanks. That guy cannot stop singing your praise" Behemoth chuckled.

"I only gave him one idea" the human scratched his face, grinning.

"Oh no, that's not the reason. After that ice lake idea, he has created an entire new division for 'modern punishments'. Drawing inspiration from 'various material' from your realm".

I wonder what kind of 'material' that crazy business man had got his hands on... his mind wandered between the demon's sentences. Hopefully it wasn't access to the internet.

"The man's been promoted to head of the division, all thanks to a chance meeting of a particular human". This particular human didn't exactly know how to react to this; tortured souls were now being punished in new, creative and painful methods...all thanks to him...

"That's brilliant" the Helltaker feigned enthusiasm, that was not brilliant.

"How long do you plan on staying?" Judgement asked her colleague, cutting off their conversation, there was a bright smile on her face.

"Oh not long, I'll probably head back in a few hours" the huge demon still vigorously petting the demonic trio, he wanted to make this a short visit.

"No, don't be ridiculous stay for the weekend" the Helltaker said, "We can find a bed for you".

"What's a weekend?" the oblivious demon asked.

"Stay for two days" the Helltaker corrected himself.

"A-a-re you sure?" the huge demon did not expect such kindness from his human friend, "I don't want to impose".

"Nonsense, I imagine you deserve a vacation" the human gestured to Pandemonica who was wedged in between Judgement and the end of the sofa, falling asleep, "I know she did". "Stay, I insist" he finished, letting Judgement take over.

"You've never been to the surface before, have you?", the high prosecutor now turned back to face her friend.

"No, never" he admitted, the huge grey demon adjusting his position on the sofa, the three Cerberus on his lap and at his sides were becoming too much to handle.

"Cerberus!" the Helltaker clicked his fingers, beckoning the trouble trio away from Behemoth. All three of them now pouncing on the human, their goofy faces asking for attention. One sat on his lap, a second Cerberus on the devil's, the third one settling for the space between Lucifer and the human.

"I've got so much to show you!" Judgement smiled excitedly, "Let's go to the beach!" the high prosecutor leapt from the sofa and was leading Behemoth by the hand off the sofa and out of the room.

"Right now?!" he said nervously, looking at the Helltaker before being lead out of the room. The huge hulking demon had to duck low below the doorway due to his height.

"We can have a beer later my friend" the human nodded at the grey demon as he was dragged away.

As their voices faded from the room, he looked to his left and smirked at the devil, the man subconsciously petted the Cerberus on his lap as he did so. The devil let loose a short sharp laugh and shrugged her shoulders. As the third Cerberus fought for his attention, the Helltaker suddenly remembered something.

"Judgement!" he shouted using his hands around his mouth to make his voice louder, trying to reach the two who were about to exit the house. "I've got spare clothes if he wants to chang-" he heard the door closing shut. The two grey demons had already left.

"That big brute wouldn't be able to fit into your clothes" Beelzebub had moved to where Justice was standing, the Blind Demon leaving to get a drink. She had her arms around his neck, hugging his head, the man not needing to move his head to speak to her.

"There are a few items that are too big for me, may as well lend him a few spares, I wouldn't want to ruin that suit" he smiled as the Mistress of the Flies hugged him more tightly, she now placed her head on his right shoulder.

"He is twice your size darling, it might be a tight fit".

"I gotta ask him where he got it, I want one like that. It didn't look like it was made on Earth" the possibility of Tailors in Hell made him laugh. "Can you order me one, Your Highness?" he turned to face Lucifer while Beelzebub was still attached to him.

"Don't push it" the devil's tone was frosty, mainly because her rival was attached to him. "You already have too many suits" she followed up, turning her eyes back down to her phone, her other hand occupied by Cerberus.

"We" he corrected, "We all have too many suits".

The man received no answer, Beelzebub nuzzling her face against his as she drew away. The demon walking away from the recliner, she too wanting a drink. The Helltaker looked down at his silver and black watch; it was quarter past one.

"You okay looking after everyone today" he said to Lucifer without looking at her.

"Of course hun" she said quickly, the Helltaker letting Cerberus down and standing up after her response.

"We shouldn't be too late".

"Aren't you forgetting something?" Lucifer violently grabbed his hand and pulled him backwards.

"I don't think so, I have my wal-" he was cut off as the devil pulled him down into a deep kiss, holding him there for as long as possible. A single Cerberus was sandwiched between the two, the white haired hound silent, blushing profusely.

Unbeknownst to him, Lucifer had made sure Beelzebub was watching this interaction, the devil making direct eye contact over the shoulder of the Helltaker with her rival.

She had to mark her property.

Finally, once she was satisfied, she let the man go.

"Don't ever leave before I get a kiss" Lucifer's serious tone only making her more adorable.

"Yes Ma'am" he smiled, swallowing as he spoke.

"Alright Malina, ready to head out?".

"You've been very quiet Malina, everything okay? Not getting another migraine are you?" he glanced over at his passenger as they drove along the meandering coastal road.

The Helltaker had donned a lighter black jacket to go with the red shirt and white suit pants, Malina was wearing her usual red working shirt with the sleeves folded just below her elbows.

On top was her buttoned black vest, there were three small black bracelets on each wrist as usual. However a single thick silver bracelet on her right wrist was present that he had never seen before.

The demon in question, had her head resting on her hand, her elbow on the armrest near the door, staring out of the window. The man received no reply.

"I told you to take breaks from the Switch, have you been drinking enough wa-".

"It's not the video games!" Malina snapped.

"Then what is it sour puss" he smirked at her aggression.

"Don't call me that" she spat, he remained silent hoping she would tell him of her own fruition. "Game night" she finally said after a short breath.

"What about it?" he said, trying to maintain the illusion he was laid back when talking about the topic. It had been a taboo subject between the two.

"I'm sorry" she finally confessed, the Helltaker unaware of what she was referring to.

"Thanks, but sorry about what?" his eyes did not move off the road ahead of them.

"What followed after I won" Malina was hiding her face with her hand, severely embarrassed at this apology.

Oh...that...

"Why are you apologising about that? I thought that's what you wanted?" the man queried.

"It was- but I didn't-" she was stuttering and half way through the sentence decided it was better to not say anything.

"Spit it out Malina, it's just us" he said trying his best to comfort her.

"I'm fucked up- we are fucked up" Malina was referring to herself and her sister. The Helltaker still remaining silent.

"We're messed up bad, why do you think I did...that?" the demon was now looking at him.

"Because you were drunk?" it was the first answer to come into his mind.

"No, I was fully aware of what I was doing...and that only made me want to do it more...", Malina was now using both her hands to hide her face.

WHY AM I TELLING HIM THIS?! her mind screamed.

"Malina, it's what you wanted. You don't need to apologise for it" the man again trying his best to comfort her, he could tell this had been weighing on her for a while. "You know I try my best to make all my demons happy". Malina's muffled voice shot right back at him.

"You're not listening! You're making this so much worse!". She grasped her white hair and tried again.

"I don't want to ruin anything between us...anything. I feel that could have..." she paused sighing.

"I'm blaming you for- for how we react to that night whenever it's brought up!" Malina's argument was definitely a strange one.

"How?" he asked slightly offended.

"The way you treat me!". He had to let Malina vent, but now she went strangely quiet. "

I have no one else to game with if you left". Malina was trying her best to maintain her sour tone, but he could tell that this was coming from the heart.

"Well, you aren't getting rid of me that easily" he smiled hearing Justice say the exact sentence in his head. "Malina" he began, "I- we will never abandon you" he smiled at the demon briefly before he returned his gaze to the road.

The Sour Demon's mind just exploded, the familiar feeling of déjà vu washing over her. He had said that before, right?! "

Yes, I suppose I've been treating you and Zdrada like my daughters" he swallowed after this confession, "I think we both know that night was...unusual...".

"You do it with everyone else, I bet Zdrada-".

"Woah, let's put a stop to that thought. No I haven't slept with Zdrada...or Cerberus...or Azazel. I don't want to, to be quite honest" the man interrupted Malina.

"Why not?" Malina spoke without thinking.

"Jesus Malina, because like I said before, you three plus Cerberus are like daughters to me!" the man was disgusted he was having these thoughts.

"We are literally centuries older than your first ancestors! We aren't your daughters!" Malina was for some reason arguing for this taboo relationship.

"You don't want to be treated like my daughter?" he asked getting straight to the point. Malina hesitated, but she knew the answer she wanted to say instantly.

"Yes! Me and Zdrada never asked to be treated this way!".

"Fine, I'll treat you two just like the rest then?!" he was raising his voice now. "Yes!" Malina was almost shouting.

"FINE!" he shouted back, speaking at such volume purely for the fun of it.

"FINE!" she shouted back, she too was also shouting for no particular reason.

They both looked at each other with anger and malice, both scowling, both having their brows furrowed. However, a slight grin from Malina followed by a snigger from the Helltaker broke this aggression instantly.

They both howled with laughter, the car now fast approaching the diner.

The human and the demon spent the next few hours at the diner, Malina wanted to experience the same treatment her sister had received.

She wanted to be indulged.

The demon had ordered five different milkshakes over the course of their stay: Salted Caramel obviously, Cookie Monster, Millionaire Sunday, Triple Chocolate Supreme, Eton Mess and Banana Split.

She had also ordered a stack of pancakes, to compare to his cooking, a chocolate fudge deluxe cake and a large waffle with bacon ontop, drowned in syrup.

"If you keep going like this you'll be sick" the Helltaker chuckled, he had decided to avoid the sweet stuff for now, sipping on a Black Americano.

"I would do no such thing" she had said while devouring the diner's pancakes.

"I might have to come here for pancakes now" the demon visibly expressing pleasure as she chowed down. Malina was trying her best to undermine his only culinary passion.

"Yeah, you can walk here then" the Helltaker smirked, receiving a sour look off of his demon.

"Can't believe what's his face just rocked up uninvited" Malina thought aloud, using her spoon to shovel more pancake, syrup and ice cream into her mouth.

"Behemoth?" the Helltaker asked.

"Yeah, what's his face" Malina maintained her sour gaze.

"Well, I did tell him when we were in the infirmary in Hell, he could visit whenever he wanted".

"Why would you offer him that?".

"Don't like him?" the man asked, the demon turned to look out the window.

"I don't know him, I remember seeing him in the audience in the-" she stopped dead.

The arena.

"I'm surprised he would want to see that" the Helltaker trying his best to avoid the topic, directing the conversation subject to revolve around Behemoth.

"He's a sadistic bastard just like the rest" Malina was fighting to suppress bad memories.

"You think he loves Judgement?" Malina's question was as quick as it was random, changing the topic to a similar thought that had been bouncing around his head.

"Quite possibly" he spoke honestly, the Sour Demon taken back by this.

"They definitely have feelings for one another, more than professionals would" he paused, quickly sighing afterwards. "It's not really my business anyway Malina", this brief conversation had made him aware of the possibility that Behemoth might confront him over the next few days.

Let's hope I get off lightly his mind pushed the worry and concern to the back of his head.

"What you got planned for me today then?" she took a long slurp from her salted caramel milkshake. By the loud sound that she was making with her straw, she was running low. He was glad of the change in conversation.

"After you equalize with your sister, we will head over to the local town. Specifically the arcade" he placed his empty cup down on the white table.

"Sounds good. Get me another one of these" she lifted the glass to show him.

The Helltaker stood, walking to the counter to buy another milkshake and coffee. Malina grabbed his hand as he passed.

"Wait! Get this one!" the demon was pointing rapidly and excitedly at the Cookie Monster milkshake.

"Yes Ma'am".

The two talked casually as the hours rolled past, Malina stuffing her face, the Helltaker simply sitting back and watching. He wanted to ask Malina about her past, specifically about her time in Hell, the time before she met him.

But he felt that this was an inappropriate time to ask such questions. She appeared to be the happiest he had ever seen her; as she chomped on the giant Chocolate Fudge Cake, moving swiftly onto the stack of waffles, he caught her smiling as she ate.

"What are you smiling at?" the demon had a large splattering of syrup around her lips and face.

"Nothing" he smirked, "Want anything else?". The demon looked at her plate then at the Helltaker.

"I haven't finished my waffles yet!". He nodded, finishing off his americano. The man was very curious to the details of Malina's and Zdrada's battles with this arena he had heard so much about.

I'll ask Zdrada his mind was trying to think about the best way to approach that topic, it seems it would be traumatic to ask Malina to dig up these old memories.

Besides, this day was Malina's, he didn't feel like dredging up the past. He decided he would let her enjoy the day, without any stress, he should enjoy himself too.

Their conversations would always end up on the subject of video games; Malina telling him the newest games she was enjoying and the game mechanics of the old classics she brought with her from Hell. He would tell her about the old ones he always enjoyed playing, Malina not really listening to his reminiscing. Most of the time, it was Malina speaking, drifting from video game to video game, to remastered edition to her most hated games and their downloadable content.

He was happy to stay quiet and listen, she was happy he would listen to her...when no one else would.

Eventually, he decided they should leave or else they would have been stuck there all day, Malina would have worked her away through the entire menu, eating through his money too.

"Thanks for stopping by! Nice to meet your other daughter" the kind elderly waitress said. The Helltaker and the demon both looked at her as they left, one had a kind expression on their face, the other had one of disgust.

"Thank you for everything" he lead Malina out of the diner swiftly.

"I'm not your fucking daughter!" Malina gave him another angry scowl. "Just go with it while we are in public, that woman thinks the same for Zdrada whenever we came here", he clicked the button on his car keys to unlock the Mercedes. "Well I don't want to 'go with it' anymore!" she protested. "Fine, how are we related then?".

Malina paused, unsure of what to say. "Why do we have to be related?" she countered his question with one of her own.

"How else are we supposed to maintain a cover while you are all here?", the man went around to the driver's side of the door. The two climbed into the car, Malina resuming her argument as soon as they were inside.

"Why do we need to 'maintain a cover?' Why do we need to hide?!" she was getting slightly annoyed now.

"Because Malina" he had built up his ammunition for this argument. He placed the keys in the ignition but did not start the engine. "If people, humans discovered that demons were real, that they were living in my house, then it would be game over for us" he paused for dramatic effect.

"They will come in hordes trying to kill you, trying to kill all of us. Or worse, they separate us, imprisoning me, torturing you." More eventualities were flooding his mind.

"What if they imprisoned me, you demons were left alone and let loose on the world...Can you imagine?" he had a look of true concern on his face, Malina noticed this.

"We would come get you" Malina didn't hesitate, she was also imagining the scenario in her head.

"No you wouldn't, I would not be responsible for the deaths of innocents" he spoke firmly.

"What?! You wouldn't want us to come rescue you?".

"No".

"Why?! That's so stupid!" Malina crossed her arms and turned away.

"Malina, could you imagine the cults, the killings, the massacres, the conflicts if humans ever found out you existed" he was gradually winning the argument, Malina was slowly seeing his logic.

"Humans are afraid of what they don't understand...and they don't understand you...not like I do".

After a long silence, Malina simply nodded, realising that he was right.

"I get it now" she sighed, "We would loose the family".

"Correct" he smiled, starting the engine, but he placed a hand on hers. The man gave it a comforting squeeze,"But it won't come to that will it?". Malina looked at him with a slightly worried face, she shook her head remaining silent. The demon couldn't imagine being forcefully separated from him...again.

She couldn't imagine life without him.

"I won't treat you as my daughter anymore. You are who you want to be, I don't control that".

"T-thank you".

"Damn, since when were you a natural at-" he was going to say the name of the game they were playing, but instead he looked around at the entire arcade, "Everything?".

They had been at the arcade for over three hours now, Malina had entered with wide eyes full of wonder.

"Places like this exist?" she had said with her mouth open, taking in all of the flashing machines and sounds. "THEY HAVE A BAR HERE TOO?!", the Helltaker was too busy chucking at her wonderment to reply. "I want to go on this one first!" she was already off, running to the far side of the arcade towards a black machine, he couldn't quite see the name of it.

"I'll get us some tokens and drinks" he called after her slightly raising his voice, over the collective sounds of the machines and everyone else speaking in the arcade the man heard her reply.

"VODKA!".

They had gone on almost every single machine within the arcade, the Helltaker spending a fortune, but in his eyes it was all worth it.

Malina had beaten the highscore on almost all of the machines, the human standing in utter shock everytime she entered 'MAL' into the scoreboard, usually being a thousand or so points ahead of the previous highscore. He had a shocked look as hundreds of tickets poured out of the machine.

"I guess I am just 'a natural', huh?" she was actually smiling at him. "Pick those up for me" Malina's smile turned into more of a smirk as she stepped over the pile of yellow tickets that was forming, she already had her eyes on the next game she wanted to play.

"Yes Ma'am" he was already struggling to carry the rest of the tickets as well as their two drinks. The man was trying his best to stuff them in his pockets, but they didn't design suits to have large pockets.

Once he had collected all the ones dispensed from the machine he was currently at, he heard her voice call to him.

"This one is two player, get over here!".

"Coming" he took a sip of from his plastic cup as he walked over. Malina had originally gone to machines she recognised the titles of, but she had decided that she would abuse his wallet, going to every single one in the arcade.

Many of them ranged from retro classic titles such as Vanguard, Donkey Kong, even Space Invaders and Pac-Man, he made her try those ones, to the more modern titles that he didn't care about. One after the other, Malina claimed her rightful place at the top of every leaderboard.

However, Malina also wanted to experience every two player game in the arcade as well. The Helltaker and the demon enjoyed round after round of air hockey, pool, skee ball, down-the-clown...you name it they played it. Malina had never enjoyed herself so much, there were parts of the night where she was shrieking with laughter, dominating him in almost every game they played.

"You must be cheating" he had said once she won a third game of air hockey. "Like I said before-" she took a large swig from her cup, burping afterwards. "I'm a natural!", teasing him with his earlier comment.

"Experience, years of gaming I bet" he smiled, he reached into his inner suit pocket and realised they were out of tokens.

"Hold tight, I'll get us some more tokens", he left Malina, walking over to the kiosk and talking to the employee.

As he did this, a slightly intoxicated Malina caught herself chuckling, laughing at her overwhelming victories over him.

Was she...having fun?!

She straightened her body to be upright, letting her facial muscles relax.

Calm down you idiot...it's just a trip to the arcade, it doesn't mean anything her mind whispered to her.

She turned around so that no one could see her face.

You think this means anything? This is just an escape from you boring life with them...

"No, shut up. You don't get to ruin this day" she whispered to herself.

Oh don't worry, you are more than capable of ruining the day on your own.

"Go fuck your-"

"Malina? Is everything okay?" the Helltaker coming over to her side of the table, "You look angry". There was a look of concern on his face.

"Nothing, was just thinking out loud" she brushed off his concern off, giving him a weak smile.

"I think we should keep these tickets for next time, the prizes are expensive, they require tens of thousands of tickets" he was holding up a large plastic bag full of the tickets he had won.

"That kind man gave me this so we can carry them all, I was running out of pockets". He looked over his shoulder then back at his demon. "We can get some goodies if we save up". Malina still did not reply, staring blankly but with a small smile on her face.

"Do you want to leave yet?" he asked.

"No! Not yet!" her smile brightening.

"Well, sorry to break it to you, but we have only got an hour left before it closes" he held out his hand full of tokens.

They had really been here that long?

Malina thought, the time had flown by.

"Let's make it count then" she beamed in response.

The two had left the arcade just as it was beginning to rain, causing the night sky to become even darker as invisible clouds full of precipitation gathered. They were both stood under the cover of the arcade's doorway.

"Suppose I should have brought an umbrella" he smiled, peering out into the pouring rain. "Also wish I parked closer" he looked down at the smaller demon, she wasn't exactly dressed to stay dry.

The man looked down at his shoulder, specifically at his large jacket and hesitated, peering through the wall of rain that was falling. It didn't look like it would stop anytime soon, the sky was a strange colour; a mix of dark grey and white.

The light pollution from the small city was being reflected off of the liquid water vapour, gently illuminating the clouds as the heavens opened.

"Here, I don't want you catching a cold" he had taken off his jacket and wrapped it around the demon's shoulders, it was huge in comparison to Malina. All of the tickets that she had won were stuffed into the plastic bag and shoved in the giant inner pocket, mainly to keep them as dry as possible.

"It may not be waterproof but it will keep you somewhat dry", he watched as Malina put her arms into the jacket. It was so large that her hands did not reach the end of the sleeves, the bottom of the jacket reached down to her thighs.

"What about you?" she zipped up the jacket up to her chin.

"I'll be fine" he smiled. He took her small hand in his giant one, holding onto it firmly. "Let's try and spend as little time in the rain as possible" Malina was listening just looking down at their two hands interlocking.

"Ready?" he smiled, she nodded.

The two ventured into the deluge, the Helltaker becoming soaked as soon as he stepped out onto the pavement. The only parts of Malina that were getting wet were her head and legs, but she wasn't complaining.

The Helltaker swiftly led her along the pavement in the direction they parked the car, he set a fast pace but Malina was able to keep up.

Halfway through their journey he realised why it was so dark; he still had his sunglasses on and they were only gathering more liquid as he walked.

He took them off and placed them in his breast pocket, he wore them so much sometimes he forgot they were there. The rain was so loud he couldn't hear Malina laughing at him for not realising this.

It was the pair Justice had gifted to him.

"I think we are almost there" he said to Malina, which she did not hear. He was still leading her by the hand, the rain not subsiding in intensity. They were now heading down a narrow alleyway filled with dumpsters behind the back of small businesses such as restaurants, bakeries and bars.

"Are you sure this is the right way?" Malina almost shouted at him to be heard over the rain.

"Positive, it's just over there" he turned back, smiling reassuringly. The rain was running down his face, dripping off of his nose and chin. There was little to no light illuminating their path now, he wasn't able to see the danger lying in wait for them.

As they neared the middle of the alleyway, he felt Malina tense up, she stopped walking and in turn made him stop.

"What's wrong?" he asked, stopping and moving closer to the demon so she could hear him.

"There are two people over there" she gestured to dark exit of the alleyway.

"Yes there are people everywhere in a town Malina, they might have just finished their shift" he squeezed her wet hand reassuringly. "Let's just power through them, we will be at the car in no time".

Malina nodded, wishing to be anywhere but here. The Helltaker was now leading her at a fast pace through the alleyway, maybe this route wasn't a shortcut after all he started to doubt himself.

As they neared the end of the alleyway, passing the last of the restaurants and bars, the two figures finally revealed themselves. Both of them blocking their exit. As soon as they did this, his mind overloaded with warning signals and alarm bells.

This can't be good.

He and Malina came to a halt a few feet in front of the two figures. The Helltaker was squinting through the rain at the two, unsure of their gender or any distinguishable features.

"Excuse us gentlemen" he assumed they were men, he took another step forward with Malina, but the two figures did not move. He maintained a tight hold on Malina's hand.

The man was unsure if these figures were even human, could they be demons? Are there such things as demon bounty hunters? Malina was sharing similar thoughts, these ominous figures hadn't spoken a word yet.

They could be assassins for all we know! her mind screamed at her.

"We don't want any trouble fellas" he shouted to be heard above the rain, "Just want to get to our car".

The man thought if he were honest they might ask for money and leave them be, as the silence lengthened he realised that the two figures were hooded and wearing masks to cover their identity. They were wearing identical outfits, both with black coats and leather gloves.

"Wallet, keys and phones...NOW!" the one who spoke did not move, but his silent partner stepped forward, he brandished a huge serrated hunting knife from his coat. Ah, a mugging. The Helltaker let go of Malina's hand, raising both of his hands as if surrendering.

"Follow my lead" he whispered, Malina trusting him and following suite, assuming a similar pose. "Hey, take it easy fellas" the man moved his hands near his head and then slowly down to his pockets.

"HEY! Hands where I can see them!" the vocal one who stood still had now unholstered a gun from the back of his trousers. He was now aiming this gun at the Helltaker.

"Okay-okay!" the Helltaker resumed his surrender pose. The knife wielding mugger starting going through the Helltaker's trouser pockets, retrieving the man's phone from his right pocket and his wallet from the left.

While he stole from the Helltaker, the man had his knife pressed against his stomach, one small push and he would have his organs spilling out onto the floor.

If only he was stood further back, I could disarm him. He is too close, he was trying his best to look for a way out of this.

The Helltaker was squinting through the rain to see what type of gun the other man was wielding, but as he came closer to the two, the man pressed the barrel of the gun against his head.

"HEY! Stand still and nobody dies" The gun man must have sensed the Helltaker was trying something.

"Just take it easy" he remained calm and defiant in the face of danger, if the gun man took a step back I could disarm him and take his gun. I can then knock the knif-

"Mmmmpph!" he heard Malina's muffled voice cry out in panic. He turned and saw Malina being held at gunpoint, a third mugger had come from the shadows behind them and had the demon in a vice grip. A gloved hand was over her mouth so she couldn't speak.

His plan...

His confidence...

His bravery...

All melted away...

Replaced by tantalizing fear, gnawing uncertainty, the possibility of loss...

"Malina, eyes on me okay" his voice faltered for a moment, he was looking at her trying his best to calm her. He still had his hands in the air, he now turned to face the original two muggers.

"You leave her out of this, you've got my money and my phone, let us go" he spat rain and saliva at the muggers.

"Keys, you said you were going to your car" the mugger smiled.

"Fuck you" the Helltaker didn't hesitate, refusing to have his hands in the air any longer.

"Wrong answer" but the gun wielding mugger was faster, delivering a swift but vicious punch to the Helltaker's stomach. The wind was knocked out of him, he was forced to the floor resting on his hands and knees.

"Search her" he ordered to his lackey, the man unzipping Malina's jacket and rummaging through her pockets.

"So, we got a tough guy?" the man was now crouching down so the Helltaker could hear him.

"Go to Hell" he was struggling to regain his breath, man I am out of shape he thought, usually he could take a punch like that easily.

"I'm going to ask again, where are your keys? We want everything you got" he rested the barrel of the gun against the man's forehead.

"Why don't you put me out of my misery and use that" he pushed his head closer to the gun, "These threats are making me sleepy" the Helltaker was smiling, his head facing down. The gunman gave him a strong kick to his head, the leather boots making solid contact with his skull.

"STOP!" Malina screamed, the third mugger having moved his hand down to hold her arms in place.

"What the fuck are these? Tickets? Where are the goodies?!" one of the other muggers said, ripping the bag of arcade tickets away from Malina and throwing them into a puddle.

The Helltaker had received one hell of a concussion, he was resting on his side in a puddle. He spat blood from his mouth, why was he caught off guard like this? Everything was going fine until-

Why wasn't he fighting back...

"I see we aren't getting through to you, let's see if she will be more co-operative" the man he now assumed as the leader moved towards his demon.

"No, you leave her out of this!" the Helltaker struggled to stand up, moving onto his hands and knees.

"Shut up!" the second knife wielding mugger struck him with another kick to his head just as he stood up to attack. The Helltaker was brought closer to unconsciousness.

He was faced down in a puddle now, struggling to move onto his side. He felt his brain had been rattled around the inside of his skull, there was a potent taste of blood in his mouth. He felt someone kneeling at his side.

"When do you people ever learn?". Suddenly, he felt searing white hot pain as something entered his right leg. The sharp serrated edge of a knife. It was digging slowly into his thigh, most likely severing an artery.

Malina was distraught, struggling to break free from the mugger's hold. She so desperately wanted to help him, the man was screaming in agony as the knife dug deeper.

"Fight back!" she called to him, she fought harder against her enemies but now there were two pairs of hands on her body.

"Connor, get over here. This bitch is strong!" he heard a voice say. The knife was swiftly removed from his leg, he let loose another agonizing scream.

The three now converged on Malina, two of them holding her while the other one searched her entire body. Their hands were wandering all over her.

"GET THE FUCK OFF ME!" she screamed, struggling to break free from the mugger's grasp.

"Malina" he gasped, unable to move, unable to look over to see if she was alright.

He was in agony...

He heard a few voices while he reached down to his leg, trying to staunch the flow of blood from his leg.

"GET THE FUCK OFF ME!"

"I got the keys! Look's like a Merc, we're eating well tonight boys"

"Hey! I need some help here!" a third voice he hadn't heard before.

He saw a strange glow of orange light reflected off of the bodies of water that surrounded him, on the ground and in the air.

"JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!"

He couldn't hear anything quieter than a shout, he thought he heard muffled screaming.

"S-s-sta-y b-b-a-ck"

There was a gunshot. Followed by a primal scream.

The Helltaker rolled onto his back, still clutching his leg. His head swimming. Darkness was descending on him.

The orange light faded, the darkness of the night returning to him.

"Hey, stay with me!" he heard a voice call to him, it mixed with the distant sound of rain. He felt a hand shaking him, then a hand slapping him across the face.

This awoken him, the water splattering on his face also giving that last ounce of adrenaline he needed, tearing him from shock. He looked at Malina's wet face, there was blood all over body and his jacket.

"Did they hurt you?" he asked, moving to sit up. He knew time was running out, he ripped his shirt's sleeve and turned it into a makeshift tourniquet. He winced as he applied pressure to his wound, tightening the scrap of fabric around his thigh and letting loose a muffled scream.

"I can heal you!" Malina was desperate to help him. Her hands already conjuring a weak form of Hell Energy into his wound.

"Listen to me very carefully" he moved closer to the demon, allowing her to work. "Can you summon a portal?".

"N-o, I was never shown how to!" she sounded scared, terrified.

"Okay you remember when I took you out driving with Zdrada, I gave you a quick lesson and you almost crashed the car?". Despite being beaten, stabbed and now bleeding to death, he was still smiling.

"Yeah? You don't expect me to drive us home? Why don't I call an ambulance?" she was panicking. The Helltaker peered through the rain and saw the three bodies, all of them had blood gushing from their throats and...eyes? One corpse was cut in two, one didn't even had a head.

"We have just killed three people, I don't trust hospitals anymore and Lucifer can heal me better than anyone".

"I don't know the way home" the Helltaker thought he saw her crying, maybe it was just the rain.

"I'll direct you, I'll be right there next to you" he tried to stand but failed, slumping back down into the puddle of red that surrounded him.

"Okay, Okay" his eyes scanned the three bodies. "

I need you to get my keys, phone and wallet" he grunted, clenching his wound. His entire right suit leg that was originally white, was now a deep crimson.

"You're going to start the car, you know how to. Once you have started it, you're going to have to help me get there", the Helltaker could feel the adrenaline running thin.

"I don't know if I can" she turned her head down to watch her hands move, she was channeling the energy intensely, focusing on closing his wound.

"You have to try" his face was going slightly pale, Malina also noticed his body was trembling, shaking slightly.

Was he going into shock? Was he cold?

"Malina. I believe in you, you can get us home...we both know th-".

"Okay, okay. Stay still I'll be back!" the demon was suddenly aware of the timer they were on, deciding not to listen to him anymore.

She knew what she had to do.

She sprinted over to the mugger's corpses and then ran as fast as she could out of the alley.

It wasn't long before she found their car, she unlocked it and threw herself into the driver's seat, starting the engine instantly.

She left the keys in the ignition and sprinted at breakneck speed back the way she came, her panting was the only thing she could hear. The rain was no longer audible to her, blurring into one monotonous noise as her feet thundered through the puddles.

She skidded to a halt, kneeling at his side. Fear was now consuming Malina's mind; the Helltaker was no longer conscious.

"No, No, No, No!" Malina shook him violently, "Come on!" she shook his head. "WAKE UP!" she slapped his head.

No response.

She felt like she was going to vomit.

Adrenaline was now surging through Malina, she used this to her advantage and lifted his entire body weight to lean on her. She slumped the huge man over her shoulder and dragged his limp body out of the alley way.

His feet were dragging along the wet concrete, but she powered through any resistance she faced.

"Please be okay" she prayed as they approached the car.

She threw open the passenger door and placed the Helltaker in the seat as carefully as she could, slamming the door as soon as he was in and running to the driver side. She did not put on either of their seatbelts on, instantly moving the gear-stick into first gear. The demon began driving, confidence overwhelming her. However, she did not know the way home.

She was driving blind.

"Hey, wake up I need directions" she didn't move her eyes off the road. The rain forcing her to find the switch for the wipers, in her search for the switch she accidentally turned on the headlights. "I'll need those".

The car jolted forward as she changed gear, Malina trying her best to remember his lessons.

"HEY, WAKE UP!" the demon turned to look at him and punched him in the shoulder. "I NEED DIRECTIONS!". Her panic was now intensifying, multiplying frantically, she was lost and alone.

WHAT DO I DO? WHAT DO I DO?!

"Please insert destination" a monotone woman's voice suddenly broke the silence, Malina looked at the slumped Helltaker then at the large screen in the centre console.

"HOME!". There was a brief silence before the woman replied.

"Destination set for Home". A satellite map of the car and the surrounding area was suddenly projected on the screen, a blue line lead from the car in one direction...presumably to the destination.

"Thank you!" Malina smiled, realising a second later she was thanking a computer. "Wait!" she suddenly remembered something she saw him do once. "Call-" she paused purely out of confusion. "Call Lucifer?".

"I'm sorry, there is no number with that name in your contacts".

"Fuck, Okay. Call Lucy?" there was a brief pause, Malina sloppily changed gear again.

"I'm sorry, there is no number with that name in your contacts".

"Fuck! Okay. Call...Satan?" she was struggling to think of the specific nickname he had set for Lucifer.

"I'm sorry, there is no-".

"Yeah, yeah I get it!" she thought as hard as her angel brain could.

"OH! Call-" she cringed at the thought of saying it aloud, "Call My Queen".

"Calling My Queen".

Ring, Ring...

...

Ring, Ring...

...

Ring,Ri-

"Hello? Where are you two, it's half pas-"

"Lucy, shut up and listen. He's hurt...really bad" Malina was now going quite fast, actually overtaking a slower driver as she spoke to Lucifer.

"Malina? How bad is he hurt?!" the demon could sense the panic dripping off the devil's voice, even over the phone. "What have you done?!" there was more anger on her voice now.

"We got mugged! It doesn't matter, you need to get ready. He-" Malina turned to look at the Helltaker groan loudly, blood was still percolating through his make-shift bandage. It was running down his leg and a small pool of blood was forming in the foot-well.

"He has lost a lot of blood" Malina turned to looked back at the road and realised she was on the wrong side of the road, swerving back into the right lane. "We will be there in-" she looked down at the large screen.

"Eight minutes...I'm going as fast as I can". Malina had to change down a gear and the car leapt forward briefly, the engine groaning.

"O-ookay, BEEL! GET UP! Get here as fast as you can!". The devil sounded terrified, there was a loud muffled, static like sound followed by a brief silence.

"Call ended" the woman's voice spoke.

"Hang in there" she pushed her foot harder onto the accelerator, stomping it to the floor. The engine revving loudly.

"I'm not loosing you again"
