Connor woke to see Margaret working on the laptop and he walked his fingers up her left arm. She smiled at him when she leaned down to kiss the side of his head.

"What're you doin'?" he asked with a sleepy tone.

"I was just checking something," Margaret said and he sat up.

"What did you find?" he asked while he moved closer and he looked at the screen.

"It appears my uncle has lied to us yet again. According to this, the people who were killed were working for him."

"They were informants?"

"Yes."

"Including Ryan's ma and da?"

"Yes."

"What about that Derek guy? Was he workin' fer him?"

"No, his name is not on the list."

"Then who was he workin' fer?"

"I don't know. I did send an email to Chief Superintendent Martin Blake and he said Derek had made a call to someone before he was killed."

"Do they know who he called?"

"No, the phone number is no longer in service."

"Weird," he said when she noticed the sad look on his face and she saved what she was looking at, depowered the laptop, placed the laptop on the floor then she slid her left arm around him. Connor placed his head against her left shoulder as he slid his arm around her waist and she brushed her knuckles under his chin. "Sorry. I was jus' thinkin' about Ryan an' Murphy."

"I'm sure they're going to be alright," she said when she looked over at the clock and she sighed. "I better get going."

He watched her get out of bed while Margaret headed for the bathroom and Connor moved his legs up, placing his wrists on his knees.

The morning sunlight woke him while Murphy realized someone was lying on top of him and he smiled. He opened his eyes as he saw a small head resting just under his chin and he carefully turned his head to his right. Louisa was smiling at him as he gave her an amused look and she held up her cellphone. He looked at the photograph of him and Ryan sleeping as she placed the cellphone on the night table and he made a deep sigh.

"I know," she whispered while she gently carded the top of Ryan's head and Ryan moved a little, but didn't wake up.

"Did I ever tell you Ma nearly lost me an' Connor after Da was arrested?" he whispered. She shook her head as he explained and she felt the tears in the corners of her eyes. He reached up to wipe the tears away and she looked at Ryan.

"Did you notice the bruises?"

"I saw them," Murphy grumbled and Ryan moaned. Ryan blinked his eyes open when he looked at Louisa and he yawned.

"Morning, Sweetie. Did you sleep ok?" Louisa asked.

"Yeah," Ryan said with a sleepy tone.

"Well, it's time to get up."

"Uh, Lou, could you give us a minute?" Murphy asked and she nodded. He watched her get out of bed as she headed for the bathroom and Ryan looked up at him.

"Mrs. Lou has to go potty?" Ryan asked.

"Aye," Murphy said as he titled his head to one side and he wrapped his right arm around Ryan. "We need t'talk."

"Why?"

"Well, y'see, you, me an' Mrs. Margaret have t'go into town."

"Why?"

"We need t'talk with someone about what happened at th'house."

"I don't wanna."

"It'll be ok. We won't let anyone hurt you."

"Uncle Frank be there?"

"No, I don't think so."

"They find Mama and Daddy?"

"That's what we need t'find out."

"Ok," Ryan said as he snuggled closer. "Mister Murphy?"

"Aye?"

"Why Mama and Daddy go away?"

"I guess they got scared when they heard about their friends gettin' hurt."

"No, they go away before."

"They went away before that?"

"Yeah. The scary man took them."

Murphy thought about what Frank said about the police taking the River Walkers and Ryan heard Murphy's heart beating a little faster.

"We need to tell them that," Murphy said as Louisa walked out of the bedroom and she head for the bed.

"You wash your hands?" Ryan asked as he looked at her.

"Yes, I did," she said with a grin and she sat on the bed. "Ready to get washed up?"

Ryan nodded as she picked him off of Murphy and she took Ryan into the bedroom. Murphy looked at the ceiling when he heard someone knock on the door and he looked at the door.

"Come in," Murphy said and Margaret opened the door. She watched him move the bedding up as she smiled at him still being shy around her when he was in bed and she walked to the foot of the bed. "G'mornin'."

"Good morning. Where's Louisa and Ryan?" Margaret asked.

"They're getting him washed up," Murphy said as he sat up and he tucked the bedding around him. "May I ask you summat?"

"Of course."

"Do you think that Frank guy was abusin' Ryan?"

"Yes, I think he was."

"Do you think they'll let him keep Ryan?"

"No, I don't."

"An' we'll have t'turn him over t'Child Services?"

"Yes," she said with a nod as the bathroom door opened and Ryan ran to the bed, climbed up onto the mattress and he sat on Murphy's lap. "Good morning."

"Hi," Ryan said, leaning back against Murphy. "We go see those people now?"

"We will be going to see them after we have breakfast."

"Ok."

"And we can't do that if you're sitting on Murphy," Louisa said and Ryan looked up at him.

"You have to go potty?"

"Aye, I do," Murph said as he lifted Ryan off his lap then Murphy got out of bed. They watched him headed for the bathroom as he closed the door behind him and Louisa looked at Margaret. Margaret saw the accusing look on Louisa's face as Margaret sighed and she left the room.

Morgan moaned as he felt the pain moving over his arms and legs and he heard the blood pounding in his ears.

"Ah, you are awake," the voice said and he felt warm breath on his face.

"Why are you doing this?" Morgan growled and a laughed filled his ear.

"Maybe I'm just getting my pound of flesh."

"What are you talking about?!"

"You really do have a selective memory, don't you?"

"Who are you?!"

He listened as the heavy footsteps walked away and the darkness slowly took him.

Dorset Police Department

Chief Superintendent Elinor Walker watched while Margaret, Connor, Murphy and Ryan walked closer and Elinor tried not to smile from how cute Murphy looked with Ryan in his arms. Connor had asked to join them so he could give some support if Murphy needed it and Elinor noticed the protective look on his face.

"Good morning," Elinor said.

"Mornin'," Murphy said with a nod of his head and she saw how tightly Ryan was holding onto him.

"What's wrong?" Margaret asked.

"Frank Kents escaped from custody this morning," Elinor said.

"How did that happen?" Connor asked.

"He overpowered the guard who was bringing him some breakfast."

"Is the guard alright?" Margaret asked.

"Yes, he's fine, but Kents stole his gun and we still think he's still in the building."

"Why aren't you in lockdown?" Murphy asked.

"We are. The only door which is unlocked is the front door."

Murphy and Connor looked around the room with their eyes while Margaret noticed the muscles in Connor's jaw was twitching then she looked at Murphy. Murphy handed Ryan to Margaret as he walked to the security desk and the officer looked at him.

"Show me th'security footage," Murphy said.

"It's fine. He's Interpol," Elionor said and the officer nodded. A few seconds later, Murphy watched the guard walk into the holding cell then Frank waked out and Murphy saw the gun in Frank's hand. He watched where Frank was heading when he nodded to the officer then he looked down at the gun on the officer's belt.

"I'm gonna need that," Murphy said.

"Ma'me?" the officer said and Elinor nodded her head. The officer handed Murphy the gun then Murphy walked to Connor and Connor was surprised when Margaret handed him the gun she had taken out of her purse. Nodding, he and Murphy walked off and Elinor arched an eyebrow.

"I always come prepared," Margaret said and Elinor nodded.

Frank Kents growled as he tried to get the basement door open, but the door refused to move. He heard what had happened to Derek and he was damn sure he would allow that to happen to him.

"No one fails that asshole," he whispered. He looked around the dimly lit room as he tried to find another way out and he thumped his fist against the door. He started walking as he held on tightly to the handle of the gun and he quickly looked around the side of one of the heating units. He made his way back to the stairs when he heard footsteps on the stairs and he went flat against the wall.

Connor hopped off the second to the bottom step as Murphy walked downstairs and they held the handles of the guns tightly in their hands. Frank slowly walked behind them as he aimed the gun at their heads and Connor glanced at Murphy.

"Either use it or put it down," Connor said while they turned and they pointed their guns at him.

"What the hell are you doing here?!" Frank growled.

"Right now!? We're lookin' fer you," Murphy said.

Frank looked toward the stairs when he put the gun in the back of his jeans, turned and he ran for the stairs. Sighing, Connor took aim then he pulled the trigger and Frank yelped after he was shot in the ass.

"Son of a bitch!" Frank said as he fell to his knees and Connor and Murphy walked to him. "You shot me in the ass!"

"Stop you, didn't it?" Connor said as he and Murphy placed their guns against the back of his head and Frank raised his hands in surrender. The sounds of footsteps came down the stairs as several police officers appeared and Frank looked at them. The police officers aimed their guns as the twins as Murphy sighed and Connor rolled his eyes.

"Arrest them! They shot me!" Frank shouted.

"An' that wouldn't have happened if you hadn't run off," Connor said.

"Aye, he's right," Murphy said.

"You shot me in the ass!" Frank shouted. The police officers looked at each other as a few of them snickered and Murphy saw Elinor walking down the stairs.

"Did you really shoot him in the ass?" Elinor asked while she stood next to the police officers and Murphy leaned his left elbow on Connor's right shoulder.

"Aye," Connor said and the twins smiled.

"Well done."

"Are you fucking nuts!? Arrest them!" Frank demanded and Elinor glared at him.

"The only one getting arrested is you."

"Me?!"

"Yes. While they were looking for you, I had a chat with Ryan O'Dale. He had a lot to say about you."

"You can't do that without a guardian or council present!"

"I gave temporary guardianship to Miss Stone and an agent from Child Service was present."

"Shit."

Murphy and Connor watched the police officers help Frank to his feet and they led Frank upstairs. Elinor saw the look on Murphy's eyes as Murphy lowered his head and she crossed her arms over her chest.

"He's still here if you want to tell him goodbye," Elinor said. Murphy nodded as he headed for the stairs and they watched him run upstairs. Elinor looked at Connor as he shrugged his shoulders and she sighed.

Margaret watched Murphy walking closer while she held onto Ryan and Murphy looked at the blonde hair woman standing next to her. He stopped next to Margaret as she handed Ryan to him and Ryan placed his arms over Murphy's shoulders then he leaned his head against Murphy's head.

"I take it this is Murphy MacManus?" Katherine Wellington asked.

"Aye, I am," Murphy said with a nod.

"I am Katherine Wellington."

"You're th'woman from Child Services?"

"Yes, I am."

Margaret noticed the angry look in Murphy's eyes as her fingers brushed against his left arm and he glanced at her.

"Did you tell him what's goin' on?" Murphy asked.

"Yes, we did," Margaret said and he looked at Ryan.

"I wanna stay with you," Ryan said in a soft voice.

"I know you do," Murphy said as he rocked Ryan. "But sometimes you gotta do things you don't wanna do."

Ryan moved back to look at him as Murphy titled his head to one side and Elinor and Connor walked closer.

"Now, I want you t'be brave fer me an' go with this nice lady," Murphy said and Ryan looked at Katherine.

"She'll find my mama and daddy?" Ryan asked.

"Aye."

Ryan nodded his head and Murphy handed him to Katherine. Katherine and Elinor watched them leave when Elinor looked at Katherine and Katherine adjusted her hold on Ryan.

"He really does care about the boy, doesn't he?" Katherine asked.

"Yes, I do believe he does," Elinor said.

"Mister Murphy's a good daddy," Ryan said with a pout.

"He's a daddy?"

"Yeah. He and Mrs. Lou have three kids. David, Murphy and Soibhan."

"I see."

"Well, we have to be going," Katherine said. Nodding, Elinor watched them leaving as she thought about the email Margaret had sent her about Ryan and his parents and she went to follow Katherine.

Jordan heard the heavy footsteps moving closer when long fingers touched her hair and she flinched.

"There is no need to be afraid," the voice said. She finally realized the voice was being altered and she frowned.

"Why are you using a voice changer?" Jordan asked.

"Very good. I was wondering when you'd notice."

"You didn't answer my question."

"I will when the time is right."

She felt a light kiss on her cheek as she moved her head away then she heard a deep sigh.

"I do apologize. I shouldn't have done that," the voice said.

"Yes, you are being a little forward," Jordan said. She listened to the silence when she felt the long fingers touching her hair again. "You're being forward again."

"Again, I do apologize."

She heard the heavy footsteps moving around her then she heard the sound of something scraping against wood. She heard a soft thud then a sigh and she titled her head to one side.

"You asked why I have changed my voice. The answer is quite simple. My voice is no longer as it once was."

"What does that mean?"

"It means my voice is damaged."

"I see."

"I need you to do something for me."

"What do you need me to do?"

"I need you to make a phone call."

"Who do you need me to call?"

She heard the soft squeak of the chair as the heavy footsteps moving closer and she felt warm breath on her skin near her left ear. The voice whispered in her ear as her eyes widened and she gasped in a breath of air.

Dorset

The door opened while Murphy, Margaret and Connor walked inside and Margaret closed the door. Louisa saw the sadness in Murphy's eyes as she walked to her husband and she hugged him. He placed his head against hers as Connor and Margaret walked by them and they went to sit on the couch.

"What happened?" Jessie asked as she and Romeo walked in the room and they sat on the other couch.

"As you know, we went to the police station to turn Ryan over to Child Services. When we arrived, the station was in lockdown…," Margaret said.

"Why were they in lockdown?" Louisa interrupted while Murphy sat on the recliner and she sat on his lap.

"It appears Frank Kents broke out of his cell and he tried to escape."

"Did they find them?" Romeo asked.

"Aye, we found him in th'basement," Connor said.

"He tried to get away, but Connor shot him in th'eass," Murphy said. Jessie and Romeo snickered as Louisa smiled and Connor shrugged.

"Did they arrest him?" Louisa asked.

"Yes," Margaret said.

"Do you think they'll find Ryan's mom and dad?" Romeo asked.

"No, I am afraid not. They were killed with the other River Walkers."

"Damn."

"What is going to happen to him?" Jessie asked.

"He'll have to be put into the system," Romeo explained and he slid his right arm around her shoulders while she slid into him. Margaret looked at Murphy as he barely nodded his head to tell her he was alright and she leaned against Connor's right side.

"What do we do now?"

"I was thinking of going to Manhattan, Greenwich, Philadelphia and Boston to talk with the people who are investigating the murders there. But there is one small problem."

"We can't go with you," Connor said and she nodded.

"Why not?" Romeo asked.

"We're still wanted fugitives in America," Murphy said.

"Oh yeah."

"I could go with you," Jessie said.

"I was about to ask you to accompany me," Margaret said when she felt the vibration from her cellphone and she removed the cellphone from her pocket. She looked at the screen, but she didn't recognize the number and she pushed the delete button. She placed the cellphone back in her pocket while she leaned back against Connor and he slid his arms around her. "Sorry."

"Well, I better go tell Annabelle and the kids that we're going home," Romeo said as he and Jessie got up and they left the room. Louisa looked at Murphy when she got off his lap and she held her right hand out. He took her hand as he stood up and she led him to the front door. They went outside as he closed the door and Connor looked at Maggie.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Margaret asked.

"I'm jus' thinkin' about you an' Jessie goin' off on yer own," Connor said.

"I've done things like this before."

"I know, but I feel like we're being separated."

"You've watched too many spy movies," she teased and he smiled.

"You're right, but I'd feel better if I could go with you."

"I would love for you to go as well. But like I told you. I'd rather have you at home, pouting and worrying, then ending up in prison."

"Aye," he said as she leaned in to kiss his jawline and he smiled at her. He looked over that the front door as his mind drifted toward Murphy and he gave Margaret a small smile.

Murphy held his shoes with his socks tucked inside in his right hand while the water moved over his bare feet and the sand squished between his toes. Louisa walked next to him as she held his left hand and she held her shoes with her socks tucked inside in her left hand. He hadn't said a word since they left the house and she lightly swung his hand back and forth.

"It's going to be nice to get home," Louisa said and he barely nodded his head. "I bet Rocco's going to be happy to see you."

"Aye," he said, but he didn't look at her. He knew his dark mood was upsetting her, but he wasn't sure what to do about it.

"Where are you, Murphy?" he thought as he looked out toward the water, stopped and he dropped his shoes onto the sand.

"What's wrong?" Louisa asked when he took her shoes, placed them next to his then he lifted Louisa into his arms and she frowned. "Murphy, what are you…?!"

She yelped after he had walked into the water enough to toss her into the air and the water exploded around her as she landed. She came back up as she gasped for air and she glared at him.

"What the hell was that?!"

Murphy just smiled as she splashed him and he held his arms up in defense. He moved toward her as she tried to get out of the way and she laughed. He caught her as he lifted her off her feet when he went backwards and they fell into the water. Both of them came back up she held onto him and he leaned in for a kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he moved back and they placed their foreheads together.

"You are a nut!" she teased and he brushed the hair out of his eyes.

"But you still love me, aye?" he asked.

"You have to ask? Of course, I do."

He took her right hand as they went back to the beach and he shook his head, spraying her with water. She lightly pushed him as they put their shoes back on and she hopped onto his back. With a small grunt, he held onto her legs while she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and they headed down the beach.

Jordan listened to the heavy footsteps moving around her as she blinked the tears from her eyes and she jumped when a loud crashing sound filled the darkness.

"Why didn't they answer?!" the voice demanded.

"I don't know," Jordan said as she made a soft sniffing sound. She felt the long fingers touching her cheeks as her tears were brushed away and she shook. "I'm sorry."

"I don't blame you," the voice said. She felt a soft kiss against her lips and something touched her forehead. "I don't blame you."

She wished she could reach up to touch whoever was in front of her as a soft, warm breath moved over her skin and she heard the heavy footsteps moving away. She tried to release her arms, but whatever held them down was too strong and she sighed, closing her eyes.
