His Silent Scream

Chapter 32

Author Notes: So i was supposed to add this in last chapter but totally forgot since i usually edit the next chapter right after uploading the previous one. But I did want to give a huge shout out to Carrie who had reviewed giving a guess to my question two chapters ago.

In general I'm grateful for everyone who's supported the series so far. But i'm super happy when readers interact with my author notes lol. Well...today we will see if your guess was right or not~ Ok folks, let's do this-it's party time! I do now own Yugioh.

3rd P.O.V

The first ten minutes went by with no issues as Yami expected. But then he started worrying after an additional ten went by with no word. "Think he hid himself in his room?" Yugi shook his head, chuckling. "Either that or he's planning a way to murder all of us."

Their daughter was taking in the various little stations as she frowned, hearing the conversation. "I regret ever telling him Banner does an ap forensics class...i'm going to see how the boys in the kitchen are doing." The answer she unfortunately found was that it wasn't doing.

At all. Melted chocolate and coffee grinds were all over the place. Including her boyfriend and the Anderson brothers. "We need a new plan." Jim and Jehu were doing their utmost to follow the recipe to the letter. Reading and rereading the instructions given, but oof they were all thumbs.

Jesse and Johan whined, knowing the brunette hates a messy kitchen. "We're so dead!" Yoko winced as she approached the group. "Scratch the bon bon cookies. Give me the book!" This wasn't Haou's copy of Yubel's recipe book.

Thank goodness because Haou would have their heads for messing with it. But when her cousin was younger Yami rewrote his own copy of the recipes in the attempts of cheering the brunette after Wicked Wing's shut down. It worked to some degree.

Yami made the desserts, and his nephew ate each and every single one to the last crumb. Only for Haou saying the older man's desserts sucked. Then proceeding to kicking him out of the kitchen to remake the failed attempt. Yugi always got a laugh whenever it happened and Yami couldn't even get upset about it.

If anything he laughed right alongside him. She flipped through several of the pages, easily able to read her father's handwriting before smashing her finger on a familiar name. "Ohhh I think I have it. Make tiramisu! It's a type of Italian coffee cake."

Jesse at this point swiped the recipe so him and Johan could read it. The instructions looked ten times easier then those weird chocolate balls their brother wanted to make. "Do we have everything to make it?" Jim meanwhile was trying to clean up the mess.

Grabbing a sponge and paper towels. Jehu licked his lips, a trail of chocolate falling from his face as he glanced at all the options. "Was this book handmade for Haou? All of these have coffee in it or seem lacking on the sweet side." He went to the fridge as Yoko took the book back.

"These were what my dad wrote down when Haou was younger. Yubel pointed all of these being ones that he loved ordering. But his version of the book has all kinds of desserts. Actually some of them he used at the café with some changes to suit the customers' tastes."

How Jehu wished this Yubel was here. At the very least she could guide him in what the hell to do because unlike his brothers who showed promise despite their young age he was a disaster in the kitchen. "This was a terrible idea!" Jehu cupped his face with a groan, ready to pull his hair out.

How did his boyfriend make this look so easy?! Jim patted his friend on the back. Giving him a sympathetic gaze since he wasn't too good a chef either. "It'll be alright mate. We just gotta be more careful."

Jehu couldn't afford to fail this, because this was going to be his present for Haou. "Alright...here goes nothing." He wanted this to be perfect. His mind wanders back to his expedition at the mall. Remembering what a total flop it was.

Even with Jim's help he was having no luck whatsoever in finding something to give to his boyfriend. He tried all sorts of stores and was growing more frustrated. Three hours they stayed there. It left him a broken man. The twins were just as depressed and tired.

Johan snorted as he glared at the table he was sitting at. "We'd be better off making something for Haou." Jesse, blinked, a lightbulb going off in his head. Instantly sitting up as he stared at his siblings. "Why don't we?" Jehu raised an eyebrow at the pair of hellspawns.

"Like what?" At this point he was willing to try anything. Yoko clapped her hand, completely on board. "You can make him one of his favorite desserts! There's more than just parfaits you know~"

Jehu had all the respect in the world for Haou and any chefs out there as he looked at his lump of a cake. "I'm not giving this to him." The butterfingers were cracked, the cake seemed more liquid then solid and just...didn't look nice. This was leagues away from the artistic sweets his lover made on a day to day basis.

Jesse and Johan probably would've done way better if they made it. But they sat out on doing anything other then giving Jehu supplies or reading the instructions out loud to him. They wanted their brother to make it, it was going to be His special gift to Haou.

Besides their custom made gift were extra large t-shirts that they drew duel monsters on. Figuring it'd make nice sleepwear. It wouldn't have been fair of them to jump in on Jehu's project. "Give it to him." The seven year olds refused to let their elder sibling mope.

"He'll want to eat it." They wouldn't let him throw it away either. And even started pushing him out the door towards the stairs. "H-hey!" Both in perfect unison pointed up towards Haou's room. "Go!" They weren't giving him any other option.

Though he grumbled profanities Jehu did as he was told, making the steep climb towards Haou's room. Glaring at the messy dessert, blaming all his anguish on it as he opened the door. His misery forgotten as he gets a nice eyeful of Haou without his top on.

Exposing a toned stomach with white lines swiped all over. "Wha-what are you doing here!?" Immediately Jehu closes the door, completely ignoring the question. Placing the dessert on the desk he walks over to the now blushing boy.

He tried backpedaling but Jehu was too quick, pulling him in for a kiss. That unspoken promised of their continuation of a make out session happening as Haou melted into the taller male. "Remind me to thank my brothers."

Haou snorted, not even bothering to ask why as his arms go around his lovers neck. "It's rude to stare." Jehu's fingers traced over the scars. His left hip, his stomach, his back and of course his arms.

"Kinda hard when my very sexy, badass boyfriend is standing in the middle of the room without a shirt." The shorter male was doing his utmost not to blush as he glanced down. Seeing the shirt that he was just about to put on before getting startled.

Amber follows his gaze, picking up the black and white sweater. "This looks nice." It was a simple design, snowflakes and stars patterned out all around. "It's an eyesore, the nicest of the bunch but still an eyesore. I'd rather go back to kimonos then what Yami gave me-the asshole."

Jehu raised an eyebrow, disappointed as Haou throws it over his head. "Kiwattos?" His confusion earns him a soft laugh as the brunette goes into his closet, throwing the bag in along with the rest of Yami's yearly abominations(that he will make sure to donate at a later point in time) before searching for Jehu's present.

"Kimonos. It's basically a formal somewhat layered Japanese silk bathrobe. A pain to get on but comfortable to wear." Haou digs into his closet, grumbling as he reached blindly for the large bag he of course buried deep with all his crap.

The blue haired junior was actually looking up the type of clothes he described, finding himself surprised with all the patterns and colors. "You used to wear these?" And more importantly why didn't he wear any now?

They looked awesome. "Yep. Here, mind giving me a hand? The damn things not coming out." With a small shrug Jehu pocketed his phone. "Sure." He had no clue what he was doing, but he reached in, squinting his eyes in the darkness before finding Haou's hands.

Feeling rough fabric he pulls it out, bringing it into the light. "No way." His eyes wide as he is able to see just what he grabbed. It was a guitar case. Speechless he swivels his gaze, finding a very content, smiling Haou. "Go ahead. Check it out."

Swallowing he gently plants it down onto the carpet. His fingers dancing over the blue crescent moon and silhouetted black trees beautifully shown throughout the case. He quickly undid the clasps, revealing a blue acoustic guitar, perfectly matching Jehu's hair.

Hints of green, black and white speckled in there with white strings contrasting the cooler colors. "Haou-this-I..." It was beautiful. That was what he wanted to say, but the words just weren't coming.

"It was a custom order. I picked it up a couple days ago at the mall." Haou knew Jehu wanted to know when he picked it up, unaware and thrown off guard that This was the reason Haou braved through swarms of people at an overly stuffy, Christmas entuned mall.

Enraptured, Jehu experimentally plucked a string, hearing a clear, wonderful note linger. It was already tuned, absolutely perfect and ready to play. And that just made him feel worse. Like Yoko assumed Haou found the perfect gift for him.

Because this-there were no words to describe how amazed he was. But Jehu had nothing to compare to this. "Do you not like it?" Haou saw the shift in his boyfriend's mood and started to worry. Thinking he made a mistake.

"What? NO! I love it. Really it's just..." Haou tilted his head as Jehu paused, looking sad. "What I got you is utter shit compared to it." Together they turned their attention to the little circular pan Jehu brought in.

Curious Haou stood up, the familiar scent growing stronger as he approached. "Did you make this Jehu?" It really was a mess. The uneven ends and lack of presentation showed a complete amateur. "Yeah. Look I'll make it up to you. I promise."

Haou only shook his head slightly, picking up the fork that was on top to take a bite. Bitter and sweet flavors intermingled in his mouth, savoring the taste. He could easily discern that it wasn't his recipe, this was a Yubel special. "It's good." Jehu was ready to apologize, more than willing to throw it away when he paused.

Snapping his head up, seeing gold eyes glancing at him from over his shoulder. "It tastes good." He meant it too. Was it a five star winning dessert? Some would say no, not even wanting to try it, but it was to Haou.

Though it may've not looked pretty the flavors were there. On top of that Jehu went to the trouble of making it just for him. Taking the time, putting his all into it. Jesse and Johan's parfait when they made it at first didn't look that nice either. That didn't matter to him though.

Presentation was something that came with practice and time. What mattered was how it tasted and more importantly...the effort that went into it. To Haou, this wasn't some mistake. This was special, because there was no way Jehu knew Yubel's recipe off hand.

He got it from Yami or Yoko and tried following it to the letter. How could he even think of rejecting it? He would've eaten it even if it was the most disgusting dessert in the world. "Thank you Jehu. You don't need to get me anything else."

Sitting down against his desk, Haou continue eating. Completely content and relaxed. Jehu gave a breathless chuckle as he sat beside him, the sadness went away within an instant. Raising an eyebrow as a forkful was placed inches away from his mouth.

"I thought you didn't share?" Gold eyes rolled over, but still happy. "I think i could make an exception or two. Plus, it would be a crime for the chef to not try his own creation." Jehu...had a better idea. Grabbing the side of Haou's face he leaned in licking the other's lips.

Blushing Haou opened his mouth, giving the teen access. A small rumble came from the brunette's chest, fully invested into the kiss. Blinking in a slight daze when Jehu pulled back, grinning. "You're right. It does taste good."

He stood up at that point, leaving Haou to his treat so he could pick up and admire his new guitar. Eager to run his hands down the strings. "Damn tease." Jehu laughed as Haou took another bite of his dessert, disappointed.

"Someone's eager. As much as I would love to continue, it's only a matter of time before we're dragged downstairs. I know the demon spawns specifically are waiting for us to come down." As if perfectly timing that, two knocks echoed from the other side. "Please tell me you two are dressed."

It was Alexis, the poor, brave volunteer. Jehu laughed again as Haou hid his face in his hands before opening the door. "What are you two doing? It's present time!" Haou was perfectly happy being up in his room.

Why would he go to the circus downstairs? "Come on babe." His boyfriend wasn't letting him hide up here however. Gently grabbing his free hand, he pulled the brunette. "I don't want anymore presents." Both teens stare at him in horror. "WHAT!?" Just what was wrong with Haou? "Who doesn't like presents!?"

He gave a deadpanned expression as the two drag him away from his sanctuary. Jehu bringing the guitar and Haou his tiramisu.

to be continued
