thanks you guys for the continuous support, and I hope that this chapter doesn't disappoint. the side plots not Rizzles and Korsangela are important for future chapters in a way

Jane had fallen asleep on the couch, so Cailin had decided to go feed Chad the tortoise since there were directions on what he needed. She gathered his food before heading to the guest house. Cailin placed the greens down on the mat where he would eat. She decided she would watch him eat so she wouldn't be caught staring at Jane while she was sleeping. Cailin had to shake the attraction she felt for Jane, she knew it was wrong but anyone could tell she was an attractive woman.

Her mind went to focus on Camille, she was nice and totally attractive. Cailin decided to pull out her phone and try to video chat with her. It was about 8:30 that was the time her kids were in bed, that's usually when they talked outside of school when the kids were asleep. Camille had absolutely no family left, so it was just her and the kids. Usually the kids went to attend daycare, it was a pretty nice facility and she was friends with the owner so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable leaving them there.

Cailin seen Camille's face when she finally picked up the phone. Her hair was up in a messy bun and she looked exhausted. "Hey Cailin, I wasn't expecting you to call. Thought you had big birthday plans with your sister this weekend. Turning 21 is usually a big event."

"I honestly don't expect to do much for my birthday. I definitely don't need to do anything big," she shrugged, going to sit in a chair. "I've missed you."

"I've missed you too, so how's that thing you got going for your sister's fiancee?" she asked.

"I don't know why I told you about that, it's nothing though... I told her about you, she was shocked when I told her you had kids. But she seems okay with the whole me and you thing, so that's good."

"Well I would love to meet her one day, her and your sister. You are going to tell Maura right?"

Cailin frowned, "I don't know if I want to tell her. I don't even know what to tell her, me and you kissed a few times, no big deal right?"

"You have to tell her, she's your family. You know how important I think family is considering I haven't had any in years. I do not want to go around hiding whatever this is. I really want to meet them," she bit her bottom lip and Cailin sighed.

"I know..." she paused. "Wanna see my sister's tortoise?" Cailin pointed her phone toward Chad who was munching on his food.

"He's cute, I'm totally jealous I always wanted a tortoise."

"Really? I find that to be a weird pet to have in a house," Cailin turned the phone back on her. "Maybe I'm being paranoid for nothing, you and Maura would get along great."

Camille smiled, "Awesome, so will you tell her about me? Maybe if you guys aren't doing anything big for your birthday then maybe I could come over and I can bring the kids, or not. They quite enjoy birthdays though, they are such suckers for cake."

Cailin smiled back, "I'll talk to Maura about it first. And I'll be sure to let you know, it will be nice to see you again, in person. I know that you said your kids will like me, so I'll make sure she's okay with kids in her house."

"Thanks, I really appreciate it Cailin, I want to be a part of your life, your whole life. You mean a lot to me."

"I know, you mean a lot to me too. I think I hear Maura's car, she must be home. I'll talk to you in a bit, okay?"

Camille nodded, "I'll hold you to it, if I don't respond to your message I probably passed out on the couch. These kids wore me out today. Bye babe."

"Bye Cami," she smiled as the woman blew her a kiss before hanging up on the video chat. Cailin put her phone back in her pocket before heading back inside the house. Maura had just walked through the front door.

"Cailin, it's nice to see you again," Maura greeted her sister with a hug, before glancing over to the couch at Jane sleeping, hugging a beer bottle. "How long has she been sleeping?"

"About an hour," Cailin smiled. "I tried to get the bottle out of her grasp, but man is she strong in her sleep."

Maura laughed, "Yeah," she noticed Jane drooling, "Attractive right? I'm going to get ready for bed and I'll be back down in a few minutes, we can discuss what you want to do for your birthday."

Cailin nodded, "Of course, I think I had something in mind, oh and I did feed Chad by the way."

"Thanks," she smiled before heading upstairs and Cailin went to go sit on the couch to wait for her sister to come back. She only had to wait a couple of minutes before Maura came down in her pajamas and poured herself a glass of wine.

"How have you been doing? I haven't seen you since the 17th."

"It's been pretty crazy if I'm being honest. I haven't really had time to think about Paddy lately," she shrugged, taking a sip of her wine. "But we don't have to talk about me, I've been doing that a lot in my therapy sessions, its kind of exhausting, you know getting my emotions out there and talking about how I've been doing."

Cailin nodded, "Yeah I can definitely agree with you there. Emotions suck, I mean unless they're happy emotions."

"Do you have anything going on that has been making you happy?" Maura swirled the wine around in her glass. "I feel like we don't talk as much as you and Jane."

"I know, and I'm trying to get better at opening up to you. I mean I have a part of you in my body, so we should be closer, right?"

"I couldn't agree more, even though I would phrase that a little differently," she offered her half sister a smile.

Cailin smirked, "Yeah that came out weird, anyways there was something I discussed with Jane earlier and I guess I don't really need to hide what I've been feeling..."

Maura gave her an inquisitive look, "Feelings for Jane?"

She frowned, giving her head a shake, "No, feelings I might have for someone else. Her name is Camille, she knew me while I was attending medical school, long story short we were friends and she was upset I was dropping out to head in the direction of a detective career, and then well we sort of became more than friends, but we're still trying to figure things out," she ran a hand through her hair. "I never been in a relationship before, I wouldn't know how to be in one."

"Well friendship is a good way to get things started, if you want more than that sometimes it can be simple to get that something more going."

"She is 29 going onto 30 years old, she's more experienced than me in a lot of things... she has responsibilities though like big ones," she paused, causing Maura to look at her.

"What kind of responsibilities?"

"She sort of has twins... fraternal ones. Age four," she admitted in a whisper, concerned about Maura's reaction.

Maura just gave her a look and took a sip of her wine. "Does Hope know about this?"

Cailin shook her head, "No, I mean you seen how well she took my change in career choices. I am not ready to tell her anything, can you try not say anything to her about it? Me and mother aren't really close anymore, I mean she's gone the weekend that I turn 21. So what does that tell you? Anyways, this isn't about her it's about me and how you feel about it..."

"Well I think you are young and figuring your life out, much better than I did at your age. You have a lot going for you and if her having kids doesn't hold you back from liking her than I say go for it. Happiness doesn't always come easy," she patted her hand. "There will be a lot of work in a relationship with someone with kids though. I dated a man who had a child before and it was awkward, but I'm glad that things didn't work out with him."

"You know she basically takes care of them on her own, besides when she has to work, her friend has a daycare she drops them off at, someone she can really trust. She has absolutely no family left and the father abandoned her and the kids not even paying child support. It's really sad though," she frowned. "I hate it when people have hard lives. She's really nice and I could talk to her for hours. She really wants to meet you and Jane... I showed her Chad on video chat, she adores tortoises apparently and she's really smart, you guys would get along fine, I have no doubts about that. That's why I don't know why I didn't tell you about her earlier. She wants to bring the kids over tomorrow, she says they love celebrating birthdays."

Maura smiled, "Well I for one would love to meet this Camille and her children. It could also be helpful in knowing if me and Jane having children would be a good idea."

"You guys would be amazing parents, that I have faith in. I promised I would tell her about if she was able to come over," Cailin got off the stool and went upstairs into the guest room.

Maura finished drinking her wine, deciding to pour another glass as she ate some pizza, grateful that Jane had gotten a veggie pizza for her. She heard shuffling in the other room, Jane must be awake.

"Hey Maura, when did you get home?" Jane asked with a yawn, as she entered the kitchen recycling her beer bottle.

"Not that long ago, me and Cailin just had a nice chat," she smiled and Jane sat next to her, kissing her cheek.

"Oh yeah, she told you what exactly?"

"Told me about this Camille person she has as a friend and potentially something more in the future. That she has kids. Cailin is more grown up than I realized before. I'm relieved though, I thought she was going to tell me that she had a thing for you," she shrugged.

Jane just smirked, "Well you have nothing to worry about," she grabbed a pizza slice from the box.

"I don't have any fears of a woman going to sweep you up off your feet, we know that's my job and my job alone," she winked, resting a hand on Jane's thigh. "So we are going to meet Camille and her children tomorrow. Cailin said she wants to meet us and I thought why not."

"Yeah plus she has kids so we can see if that's really what we want in the futute."

"I had been having doubts about that lately, but I'm sure we'll be good with kids."

"I didn't know that you were having doubts about us having kids too. I felt bad because I thought it was just me. You know after the last time I got hurt and you got taken from me. The world is one hell of a scary place," Jane admits and Maura nodded her head in agreement.

"That it is, but we have each other and family."

Jane nodded, "Yeah my crazy family, you sure you want to be a Rizzoli?"

"I already am one," Maura smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Proudly so."

"Good just had to make sure. I wouldn't blame you if you bailed," Jane patted her hand.

"Why do you say that?"

"No reason. I think I'm going to head up to bed, I can finally comfortably walk up the stairs now," Jane got up from the stool. "Gotta get some sleep if we have two four year olds coming over tomorrow."

"Goodnight Jane, I should be up soon."

"I'll be expecting you," Jane winked, before leaning down and giving Maura a kiss and heading up to their bedroom. As she got upstairs Cailin got out of the guest room. "Hey, so Maura tells me you told her about Camille..."

Cailin nodded, "Yeah, she's coming over with the kids tomorrow. She's excited to meet you, you know. Both of you actually."

"I'm glad that you told her, I'm sure Maura appreciates it as well."

"Yeah, I'm kind of nervous, I never actually met her kids before..."

Jane smiled, "It's going to be fine, plus you have me and Maura to help out."

"And Angela... after I texted Cami she called me. Apparently my mother told her it was my birthday and she wants to come over."

Jane frowned, "Of course she does. You know she's going to spoil those kids when they come over tomorrow. Korsak isn't coming is he?"

"No, she said he needs to rest after his thing... Frost is going to hang out with him apparently. That stinks though I think Frost is kind of cool, I'm jealous that he's dating your hot brother though," she shrugged and Jane rolled her eyes.

"Why does everyone think that Tommy is so hot for?"

"Because he just is," Cailin laughed. "Frost is one lucky man."

"Frost is actually happy which is really good, I'm still waiting for the day that Tommy fucks it all up."

"Well hopefully for his sake he doesn't. I would hate for you to destroy him for breaking Frost's heart. They seemed okay together the last time I seen them. You should have nothing to worry about," Cailin reassured her.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. I do threaten Tommy every time that I see him... I guess I should lay off of him. I should get to bed now. I'll see you in the morning," Jane gave her a curt nod before heading into her bedroom and laying down on the mattress, groaning out at the softness. Tomorrow would be a very productive day and she was already exhausted thinking about it.

The next morning came pretty quickly Jane had rolled over once she had woken up and found the bed absent of Maura. She could hear talking downstairs, she could tell that her mother was already here. She groaned getting out of bed and got dressed before heading downstairs. When she got downstairs she noticed that both of her brothers were present too, sitting on the couch as Angela and Maura were making breakfast.

"Hey, do you guys... you know, ever think of helping with making breakfast?" she asked as she sat down on the couch between them. "I wasn't expecting to see you guys this morning."

"You don't seem eager to help either," Frankie looked up at Jane with a frown.

"Don't mind him Jane, he's upset Gwen dumped his ass," Tommy smirked.

"You don't have to smile about it Tommy," he gave his brother a shove. "She moved back to New York actually, some family stuff going down she had to go back but didn't want to do a long distance thing."

"Tell her the worst part," Tommy told him and Frankie shook his head. "Okay I'll tell her... she posted on social media, she was with her dad in the hospital and had a picture of her with her arm around her ex boyfriend said he was there for 'emotional support'."

Jane sighed at the amusement in Tommy's voice, "Shit Frankie, I'm sorry to hear that," she was genuinely sorry and Frankie shrugged.

"People come and go, and I'll tell you one thing, I'm never dating again."

"Don't give up hope Frankie, there will be someone for you," Jane reassured him.

"Ma got so mad when she found out, did you know Ma has a Facebook? Just what she needs right?" Tommy shook his head.

Jane looked over to the kitchen where Maura and Angela were deep in conversation, "Yeah, I didn't know Ma knew how to use websites like that."

"Oh yeah Frost helped her get one. You know I think she likes him more than us three put together. Him and Maura," Tommy shook her head.

"Well can you honestly blame her, she didn't spend 30 years with them yet," Frankie laughed.

"Breakfast is ready my children," Angela came into the living room just as Cailin came down the stairs. "Hey, you made it down right on time, happy birthday."

"Thanks," she offered a smile and noticed Frankie and Tommy were here. "I didn't know that they were coming."

"We love a good birthday party," Tommy got off the couch, pulling something out of his pocket, handing her a twenty dollar bill. "Here's a little donation for when you buy that first case of beer or whatever your choice of beverage will be."

Cailin smirked, "Well thanks for that," she put it in her pocket.

"No problem anything for Maura's sister," he patted his shoulder before going to get breakfast.

"So how's the baby doing Ma?" Jane asked once she was alone with Angela.

"Doctor said everything is going well so far, he said that he predicts at the current moment that it could be a full term pregnancy."

Jane smiled, "That's great Ma, you know I'm still going to worry, right?"

Angela nodded, "I don't ever expect you to stop worrying about me Jane."

"And how is Korsak feeling after his vasectomy?"

"He's pretty good, doctor said he should take about week to recover. Good thing that man knows how to relax," Angela smiled, "We should go eat breakfast now though, nothing ruins breakfast like when it gets cold."

Jane laughed, "That is definitely true, and you know me I can't let a meal that you cook go uneaten."

They went to go sit at the table where everyone else was already eating. Jane sat down next to Maura, her brothers were on both sides of Cailin talking to her about what kind of goals she wanted to achieve at 21 years old.

"So are you sure that you want to become a detective like Jane and Frankie?" Tommy asked and Jane rolled her eyes.

"Tommy, she doesn't have to explain herself to you, you know. She admires our profession is all," Jane sipped at her orange juice.

"Just trying to make conversation Jane, I didn't realize that was a crime," Tommy shoved some pancake into his mouth.

"Sorry, I apologize," she slumped her shoulders, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Did you sleep alright last night Jane?" Maura asked, joining the conversation when it involved Jane. "You seem a little tense."

"Me yeah, I'm fine, you don't have to worry about it, I promise," Jane smiled, trying to reassure her that things were fine.

The rest of breakfast was spent in silence, Tommy and Frankie were designated to clean up after everyone since Maura and Angela cooked.

"What the hell was that all about Tommy, what did you do to piss Jane off?"

"Hell if I know Frankie. I don't know what's going on in her mind. She probably just needs to get laid," Tommy filled up the sink with water and soap.

"My sex life isn't any of your concern Tommy, and I've been getting plenty. You know you didn't have to flirt with Cailin, she's more mature than you," Jane leaned against the kitchen island.

"You really think that was flirting? I was just being a good future brother, she's going to be family soon one day too. Nothing to worry about Jane, I wouldn't hurt Frost if that's what you are so concerned about," Tommy frowned.

"Yeah you better not mess that up," Frankie looked at his younger brother.

"I swear I wish you guys would just trust me with him. I don't know why you both think I'm going to fuck this up. It's bad enough that he doesn't fully trust me yet," Tommy started to wash the dishes. "Despite what he says."

Jane and Frankie looked at each other, "I didn't know that you guys were having issues, look I've been kind of out of the loop of things. We don't have to talk about this anymore I can see that it's upsetting you," Jane rested a hand on his shoulder. "Did you want me to talk to him?"

Tommy shook his head, "Please don't interfere. Maybe I should just settle on the fact he won't ever fully trust me, like what's even the point."

"Sounds like you're giving up on him there Tommy," Frankie looked at him in concern.

"Don't sound so surprised, I know you're waiting in the shadows. I don't buy the whole you being upset over Gwen dumping you. I think it's something else," Tommy stopped washing the dishes and went to step outside.

"I swear he always has this thought I'm going to try and steal Frost away from him. I told him time and time again I don't want to take Frost from him," Frankie shook his head. "He's so frustrating sometimes. I should have dropped Tommy like we dropped Pop."

"Well I mean, I trust you a hell of a lot more than I trust Tommy with him. I know Frost is scared to trust Tommy, trust is important in a relationship. Tommy will grow up eventually, I think we need to just stop treating him like a baby," Jane sat down on the stool. "God this family has too much damn drama, I'm about tired of it."

Frankie frowned, sitting down next to her, "I know but at least you get a relief from it all thanks to your relationship with Maura."

"You don't have to entertain Tommy if you don't want, you know. Nobody is forcing you to have a relationship with him. I know him being a lot like Pop is quite concerning," Jane sighed.

"It's really concerning. I just really hope he doesn't hurt Frost. Gwen leaving me hurts like hell and I do not want to wish that on Frost," Frankie frowned. "I do care about Frost."

"I know you do Frankie more than you'd like to admit," she gave him a side hug. "Don't give up on love though, like I said it will happen for you."

"It might but its not something I want to worry about right now. I should get back to the dishes, want the place cleaned up before Cailin's friend and her kids come over. I can't believe she's dating a woman with kids, she's more grown up than any of us."

Jane nodded, "Yeah I completely agree with you there. She really is a mature young lady. Don't you get any ideas though, she's not your type," she nudged Frankie before heading back into the living room resting before Cailin's guest came over.
