Enjoy some happy time

Alexander knocked on the bedroom door as his wife was doing her hair. She wore a pale blue gown. Her stays was pulled extra tight than normal. Her chest budged out of the top of the corset.

"Wow", he smiled, kissing her cheek. She grinned back at him.

"Are you ready to go?" She turned around to look at his outfit. He shook his head.

"I'll get changed now".

"Can we leave early and walk there?" Alexander suggested. Eliza laughed.

"And get this dress full of mud? I don't think so". She sat up straight, rushing the creases out of the dress. Alexander shrugged.

"I hope the play is good. What's the name of it again? It's a new one, yes?" Eliza applied light makeup, stopping before applying lipstick.

"Yeah. Sicilian Romance", he told her as he looked through letters. She glanced at him through the mirror before getting up to sit beside her husband on their bed.

His lips look so good. She grabbed his shirt, pulling him into a kiss.

"My little sorcerer", he whispered before kissing her again. Eliza smirked.

"You're under my spell", she declared before putting lipstick on.

Alexander groaned.

"You're making me want to keep you here", he shook his head as he put his jacket on. Eliza spun around in a circle.

"I look too pretty to stay at home", she smiled, taking his hand. They kissed the children Goodnight before getting into the carriage. She waved the kids goodbye.

"Betsey", Alexander took her hand.

"Mmm", she smiled at him. His hands were warm. She got up and sat beside him, cuddling into him. The evening had brought quite a chill.

"Thank you for forgiving me", he wrapped his arms around her.

"I told you I'll be by your side and I meant it. Even if you make it hard to keep that promise sometimes", she laughed. Had she forgiven him? They're sleeping beside each other again.

"Best of wives and best of women", he whispered. Eliza sat up.

"Did you hear the news?" She grinned at him. He shook his head unsure what news she was talking about.

"Angelica had a boy", Eliza smiled, she couldn't wait to meet him.

"That's fantastic! Has she named him yet?" Alexander smiled. Eliza shook her head.

"No not yet", she cuddled back into his side. They fell into a comfortable silence, watching streets outside the carriage.

"I hope god blesses us with more children", Eliza said as she leant her head against his shoulder.

"We have to...I'd love to have more children with you", he responded, stopping himself mid sentence. Eliza rolled her eyes.

"I know how babies are made", she laughed, sitting up as the carriage came to a stop.

"You get out first then help me out", she instructed him. Alexander did as he was told. They made their way into the theater.

Eliza laughed, sneaky her way through the hallway into their room. She used the wall to keep herself steady.

"That was some good wine", she took her jacket off, handing it to Alexander. He frowned slightly but hung it up.

Eliza giggled when he turned around.

"You've a cute butt", her hand immediately covered her mouth. As if it betrayed her for saying such a thing. She laughed as she sat on the bed.

"Get this thing off of me", she knocked on the hard wood of the stays.

"Yeah let's get you into your nightdress", he agreed, giving her a kiss. Eliza blushed.

"I love you. You can be a pain in the ass sometimes but you're my pain in the ass", she smiled at him.

Alexander helped her out of her stays and into her nightdress.

"Freedom!" Eliza climbed into the middle of the bed, stretching out on it.

"And I am going to sleep where?" He asked as he poked her side. Eliza sighed dramatically.

"Fine I'll move", she flipped over onto her stomach, smiling at him as he laid down beside her.

"I'm too giddy to sleep. What's your favourite animal?" She moaned as he ran his hand gently up and down her back. Jesus that felt good.

"Turtles. John drew one for me one time. I never kept it though", he admitted. Alexander sighed. He still missed his friend. No matter what people say it never gets easier.

"I'm sorry. I know you loved him", she yawned. "How are you so good at making me fall asleep?"

Alexander laughed, shaking his head.

"It's almost as if I've been married to you for 17 years", he smiled at her.

"How did I get so lucky to have such a beautiful wife?" He kissed her hair, as her eyes closed. She turned onto her side, lying closer to him.

Eliza groaned, her entire body feeling stiff. She turned onto her side. Alexander was up already. That was normal. He was most likely working. Angelica brought her cold milk and toast.

"I'm not too sure how to cook anything else", she admitted. Eliza took a mental note of it. Today was not the day to teach her daughter to cook though. She left and came back in with William.

"I think he's hungry", she handed the child to Eliza. He was nearly 1. "Thanks", Eliza nursed him.

"Go get John and James dressed. I'll make breakfast shortly", Eliza instructed the girl. Angelica nodded before running out.

Eliza left William to play on the ground as she got dressed. She brought coffee up to Alexander.

"I'm starting breakfast now, thought you might like this though", she looked over his shoulder at his work.

Eliza called Alexander once breakfast was ready.

"John wants you to teach him to play chess", she told him over breakfast.

"Mmm", he flipped through the newspaper. Eliza sighed.

"Alexander, are you even listening?" She questioned him. He nodded.

"Play chess with John. Yes I was listening sweetheart", he smiled at her before reading the news to them.

Angelica washed up the dishes before joining them in the parlour.

"How is it that babies are born?" She asked. Eliza frowned, shoving Alexander who was about to laugh.

"Angelica what are you talking about?" She smiled at her daughter.

"I thought one had to be married. Apparently that's not even a requirement", she shrugged. Philip was struggling to hold in his laughter. Angelica sat down beside him.

"Angelica that's enough", Alexander glared at Philip.

"Haven't you been to the farm sister?" He asked Angelica. "Philip!" Eliza warned him. He nodded, putting on a serious face.

"Sorry", he smirked at Angelica.

"That is totally unfair that boys get to know but girls don't", Angelica remarked. Eliza sighed. Why was she having this conversation?

"That is just life my darling", she laughed, continuing her knitting.

Alexander flicked through letters.

"I just got word that Angelica is arriving today with the baby", he announced to the room.

"Everyone on their best behaviour", Eliza told them before they got too excited.

"Will aunty tell me where babies come from?" Angelica asked. Eliza rolled her eyes.

"No. You will find out on your wedding day", she explained to Angelica.

Eliza took her nephew as soon as Angelica got there. She couldn't wait to hold him. William, John and James surrounded her to look at the baby.

"We've decided on Richard", Angelica told them the name. Eliza smiled, running her hand gently over his cheek.

"Angelica, he's just adorable!" Eliza complimented the baby.

"I'll travel back with you. How did you manage to travel here. The baby is not but a few days old?" Eliza frowned, wrapping him up in more blankets. John laughed.

"She's been begging to leave the house since day 2", he smirked at his wife. Alexander nodded. Eliza handed the baby back to Angelica.

"I understand the feeling. Though not the child birth part. The need for sleep does make me restless", Alexander explained. Eliza laughed.

"Restless is one word for it", she shook her head. She served tea and cakes before sitting down beside her husband.

"I believe hyperfixation is the word you are looking for", John jeered.

"Ha ha", Alexander fake laughed.

Eliza showed Angelica to her room where she could nurse when the baby got fussy.

"Angelica will go back with you. She can mind your children while you get your sleep and energy back". Angelica nodded.

"Please between my Elizabeth and your Angelica I'm sure they can keep the children alive", she laughed. Eliza left her to nurse. She took Alexander's hand, bringing him downstairs.

"Angelica needs privacy", she kissed her husband. He nodded, choosing not to question her.

"Angie, with a change of clothes. You are going to stay with your cousins for a few days. Aunt Angelica needs help with the little children while she focuses on Richard", Eliza sent her daughter upstairs. Angie grinned, running to pack.

After Angelica had nursed they waved the carriage off. They couldn't stay long because they wanted the baby to sleep the journey back. Eliza hugged into Alexander.

"I want another one", she commented. They had discussed it yesterday but seeing the baby. She forgot how small and cute they were at that age.

"I won't get pregnant until William is done nursing though", she sighed, leaning her head against his chest.

"I need you Eliza. Please let me pleasure you?" Alexander begged, whispering it in her ear. He kissed her neck while waiting on an answer. Eliza moaned.

"Right now?" She couldn't wait a moment later. She dragged Alexander to their room.
