Chapter 38 African Sweep Part I

A.N. – The first part of the end of Africa. Might be fast paced and rushed, but at least accurate. Remember, that this is just to begin Part III faster and before this year is over. If everything goes to plan then by December 13th, Part III should begin. School is coming to an end on December 7th and then my normal upload schedule will resume, which is every other day. I also plan this first part to cover the North half of where the equator is in Africa.

Short Summary – With the increasing threats in Africa, the warriors plan to move as fast as possible to get out of Africa and back into Europe. Jeremy plans a strategic 'African Sweep' that he says will catch the security program off guard and allow them to cover as much land as possible within a short time span.

Disclaimer – I do not own Code Lyoko. I am just a fan of the show.

Mauritania

After escaping the sandstorm disaster, the Lyoko Warriors fear that the worse has yet to come Even though they emerged in a victory, the threat is more real now then ever before. They now believe the security program is willing to do whatever it takes to bring them down or capture them. Everything is now at risk.

"If we fail, the resistance goes with it" Yumi says.

"We don't need to be thinking like that. Sure, the threat is more dangerous, but we faced worse. I mean come on, we cheated death how many times?" Ulrich asks.

"Too many too count" Odd responds.

"Regardless, if we survive Africa, Europe will be a goddamn nightmare" Aelita says.

"It probably is a nightmare" Yumi says.

"And everyone is suffering too" Odd adds.

"Only means we got to get back as fast as possible. We need to head back to the Algerian base, meet up with Jeremy. See if we can cover more of this continent and move on the journey towards home" Aelita says looking out onto the Sahara Desert.

The Lyoko Warriors wait until the sun starts to set before moving back to base and not die within the desert heat. They arrive at the base as the sun is fully set and night has come.

Algerian Base

"Hey guys. What are you doing here?" Jeremy says.

"We need a plan to help us conquer the rest of Africa" Ulrich says.

"Still a little scared after that sandstorm trap huh. Well, get some rest. I'll look over a map and routes and we'll devise a plan."

"Still thinking of that African sweep Einstein?" Odd says.

"That's the plan. Let's just hope that it can work like the way I want it to."

The Lyoko Warriors and Jeremy both retreated for the night, but while they got some rest, Jeremy worked throughout the night. The whole night he mapped out locations for the warriors and the Air Force to hit. He was leaving Madagascar for last as it was an island nation. The rest was going into final plan stages.

The Next Day

Jeremy had fallen asleep in a chair that had all the plans. The warriors came in and just saw what looked like a flashback.

"This seems awfully familiar" Odd says.

"So, who wants to do the honors?" Ulrich says.

"I'll do it" Aelita says volunteering.

She walks up to Jeremy and kisses him on the forehead causing him to wake up immediately.

"Huh? Oh, hi guys" Jeremy says.

"You know Einstein, there's a thing called a bed. Maybe you should try it sometime" Odd suggests jokingly.

"Yeah, well I think I got a plan that will work. There are a few major countries that are large and small. The small ones will be carried out by the Air Force and you guys take the larger ones. Also, the quicker we are, the less time the security program has to prepare for us. kind of like a 'lightning war' method."

"You will think that will work?" Ulrich says.

"By looking at the map, all areas might have nothing. The resistance pockets are all light around here. Only time there is a pocket of resistance, is where the security program sees a trap opportunity."

"So, by creating a lightning war movement, we eliminate that and capture the countries in the progress" Yumi says.

"Exactly. Limit his options."

"When do we move?" Aelita says.

"As soon as possible."

A Few Hours Later

Over the course of a few hours, the warriors and the resistance prepared for one of the biggest movement plans over this whole war. They knew that this movement would allow them to go home faster, so the stakes are higher. But hopefully when the security program notices, it will already be too late to counter.

The Tower in Norte Dame, Paris

The security program feared the worse as the Lyoko Warriors planned their next move. He struggled to find out what they were planning in Africa. It was far too big to retake it in a matter of a few days. Plus, he didn't know where to strike next as it was unknown of where they were going.

"This is a nightmare. How do they do it?" the security program said puzzled at how the warriors do what they do.

Algerian Base

At the base, Jeremy went over how the African Sweep would work.

"Okay, you are gonna start at Mali and move East. Once you reach Sudan, head South into Ethiopia and head West towards Nigeria. and basically, do that and Africa will fall in a week or so and the security program will be caught off guard that he won't be able to respond."

The Lyoko warrior boarded their vehicles and headed off to Mali to begin the African sweep.

Bamako, Mali

Upon arrival in the capitol of Mali, the Lyoko Warriors saw instead of a city, saw a suburban like town.

"Quiet little town" Odd sys looking at the city.

"Yeah, looks like the security program never touched it" Yumi says.

"One less thing for us to worry about. Let's keep moving" Ulrich says.

They moved towards their next country: Niger.

Algerian Base

The Air Force pilots and jets were ready to move and take the Atlantic coast countries there were a handful of them, but they believed they were confident that they could clear all of them and clear out any signs of resistance. Even though Jeremy believed that there would be nothing there, they were still loaded with explosives. They headed out towards their targets.

Niamey, Niger

Upon arrival to the capitol of Niger, the Lyoko Warriors found a pristine looking capitol, complete with tress and green everywhere apart from a few buildings.

"Beautiful" Yumi says.

"Yeah, probably in better shape then most of Europe" Ulrich says.

"Then it's our job to restore the beauty to Europe" Aelita says.

They continued to move.

Atlantic Coast

"Fly over your designated targets and follow my lead" the leader said.

"Roger" everyone else responded.

Within three hours, three countries were taken, and no signs of a resistance showed up.

"Head back for fueling."

"Roger sir."

All fighters headed back for fueling before continuing the African sweep.

N'Djamena, Chad

At the capitol of Chad, the Lyoko Warriors saw nothing special, except for a few sightseeing structures.

"Nothing special here" Odd said.

"No action either" Ulrich said.

"One more and we'll rest" Aelita said hoping to clear as much as possible in one day.

They headed towards their final target.

Atlantic Coast Pass Number 2

The jets were now looking to aim for three more countries. This was executed properly enough as they split up and still found no signs of resistance. Everyone, including the warriors, were confused and started to wonder if their lightning war method was working or was it all leading into a bigger trap at the end.

Khartoum, Sudan

In Sudan's capitol, the Lyoko Warriors found the big capitol city they were expecting.

"This is more like it" Odd says.

"Okay, let's find a place to settle for the night" Aelita says.

They find a building and make a temporary base there for the night.

"At the end, I say this was successful first day" Ulrich says.

"I agree. Maybe Jeremy's plans of a lightning war will work" Yumi says.

"Let's just hope the Air Force is a successful as us" Aelita says.

"They're trained killer from the sky princess. They'll be fine. They haven't lost a battle" Odd says.

"Let's just hope it stays that way."

The Lyoko Warriors settled down for the night and rested for the second day in the African sweep.

The Next Day, Day 2

The Lyoko Warriors awoke and knew today was the day that they had to take only three countries. The only three would be Somalia, Ethiopia and Nigeria. The others would be covered by the Air Force. Even though the load was smaller, it was still a hike to get where they were going. They ate and headed off towards Ethiopia.

Algerian Base

Back at the main base, the resistance was planning to move down South to not only get closer to the warriors but to have a better launching point for the Air Force. The were a few small countries South of the equator and they knew that the Air Force needed to be closer so they could have enough fuel to do what they had to do.

"Okay, we'll be moving South today. Hal of you go towards the Atlantic coast and the half go towards Indian Ocean coast near the Red Sea. After your done head towards our new base in Nigeria for refueling and the end of day two" Jeremy informed them.

"Think the warriors will be there?" Chris asked.

"If not, hopefully there is nobody there waiting for us."

The jets took off and the resistance moved.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The Lyoko Warriors once again found a huge city in Ethiopia and saw nothing out of the ordinary.

"Nothing, again" Odd said disappointed.

"What's wrong Odd?" Yumi said.

"Is it just me or is Africa more boring then the rest of the places we have gone?"

"Hey when the world is counting on you, sometimes you got to the boring stuff" Ulrich said.

"Yeah, I guess."

They headed towards their next target.

Atlantic Coast, Pass Number Three

With only a handful of countries left, the Air Force split up into different squads of three and left to tackle all the countries. within two hours and no resistance signs the Atlantic coast was clear and they headed towards the countries that were divided between Nigeria and Ethiopia. Jeremy instructed them to clear those before they headed to the Nigerian base.

Indian Ocean/Red Sea Coast

The second group of fighters were closing in on their target and within an hour both were clear. They regrouped and headed towards the Nigerian base.

Mogadishu, Somalia

The Lyoko Warriors got a different scene in Somalia's capitol. They saw a bunch of different buildings, but all have bomb damage.

"Did the security program do this?" Ulrich asks.

"No, that looks like more of a militant group attack. The security program's monsters don't use bombs. and lasers don't blow up buildings" Aelita informed them all.

"After what happened in Libya, let's get out of here. I feel like these guys might have a different opinion then Libyans" Yumi said, and they turned around and got as far from the city as possible.

Central Africa, Between Ethiopia and Nigeria

The Air Force now were looking to attack the three countries that stood in between Ethiopia and Nigeria. They separated into groups of three, like last time and within three hours, all countries were taken. With their task complete, they headed towards the Nigerian base.

Abuja, Nigeria

The Lyoko Warriors entered the Nigerian city capitol and found an empty big city.

"Looks like most cities we run into" Odd says.

"Yeah, and that ends today. At least half of Africa is now done. Fifty percent done and only fifty to go" Aelita says and suddenly the resistance shows up.

"Oh good, you're here" Jeremy says greeting them.

"New base?" Ulrich says.

"You got it. Congratulations. Prepare though, because the African sweep ain't over yet."

The fighters arrived and everyone rested and prepared for day three of the African sweep.

The Tower in Norte Dame, Paris

William arrived to inform his master of the current events of the past few days.

"Master, half of Africa has fallen to the warriors. What shall we do?" William said.

"Nothing" the security program said. This surprised William. "Let them have Africa. I have…other plans for them."

To be continued…

A.N. – Boring chapter maybe. That's for you to decide. Also, tell me your thoughts too. Was it to bland? Was it rushed? I appreciate the criticism, but no flames. Anyway, part two will be the same and then it will be Madagascar next and the journey towards Russia will begin and I have special plans for that chapter. Only three chapters left and then we are done! PM me with story ideas if you have any! Don't forget to review with questions or comments! I will respond! Stay safe and healthy out there!
