Author's Note:

This is a request from TerraxAqua

It's kinda short, but I kinda needed a break chapter, so here's a drabble.

Cheers!

I couldn't think of a title guys, if you want to leave a suggestion, I'll replace this with it *shrugs*

If there's one thing Annabeth hated...well, it was spiders. But if there's one thing she hated slightly less than that, it was being vulnerable. She also didn't like being slow or having to depend on other people for things.

Suffice it to say, Annabeth now had to deal with those things...constantly. Well, minus the spiders. It was the downside to being a heavily pregnant demigod. After a close call involving a hellhound, both she and Percy had decided it may be a good idea for her to stay at camp for the last two months before a mini Annabeth came into the world. That was a month ago.

So she was very safe. She was just also very bored and rather indignant that after everything she'd accomplished she couldn't leave the borders in fear that a monster, that she might have otherwise easily taken down, would get her. And also, her feet hurt. At least being eight months pregnant didn't also mean that spiders started appearing out of nowhere. It was a small mercy.

It did mean that she was able to spend a lot of time on her drawings. She had been officially hired by the Olympians and Chiron to design New Athens. Even better, she had designed a house that they had built where New Athens' neighborhood was set to be. It wasn't, at least at first, that she or Percy needed the added protection of camp now that they were past their most dangerous years, but they had to consider any future children that they couldn't risk being the victim of something tragic.

Of course, she did her best drawings standing up. She didn't know why, but the chair behind her desk might as well have not been there. That quirk was most likely the reason her feet hurt, especially because she so often completely lost track of time, starting to draw at nine in the morning, and not even thinking of stopping until she wondered why she was so hungry at one in the afternoon. And then rinse and repeat for the afternoon until Percy came home and reminded her once again that she didn't need to work so hard.

That was how he found her, yet again.

"You finished setting up the plaza yet?"

She startled a little, totally absorbed in her work. "What? Oh yeah, I'm just putting the finishing touches on now."

"Annabeth. You hadn't started on the plaza when I left. You don't need to work so hard. Little Slagathor is your excuse to not be productive."

"What is it with calling her Slagathor?"

"It just stuck."

She rolled her eyes, but started putting her graphing paper away. "I'm sure Piper still finds it hilarious." Slagathor was what Percy had taken to referring to her bump as around their friends who didn't know the name they had picked out. He found it hilarious. Annabeth was slowly forgetting why she had also once enjoyed the joke.

"Leo still thinks it's funny."

"Yeah, but Leo is the fun uncle."

"True. But he still thinks it's funny, so I want to keep using it."

"There's no one else around, Percy. You can call her Marianne."

"You never know who's listening."

She rolled her eyes again. She finished putting away her supplies, and joined Percy in the kitchen so they could make dinner.

"What's wrong?" Percy asked, picking up on her mood. "Look, if you're really annoyed about the Slagathor thing, I'll stop."

"It's not that. My feet just hurt, that's all."

"Then Go. Sit. Down."

"I'm fine, Percy."

"But you could be better than fine. Sit down, I'll finish this."

She considered protesting some more, but decided against it, sitting down on the couch and reading her book. The time passed quickly. It seemed she had just sat down when she heard Percy put the casserole into the oven and then sit down next to her. She didn't think much of it until he started giving her a foot massage.

"He,y what are you-"

"Relax, Wisegirl. That's advice you could stand taking more often."

"I relax all the time!"

"Yeah huh."

"Yeah huh!"

"Then what did you do all day? And all day yesterday? And the day before that."

"Point taken. Wait, you're actually really good at that."

And as loath as she was to say it, maybe she could try depending on him for more foot massages every now and then.

Author's Note:

Why Marianne? Well, mostly because that's the name I used for the daughter of Percabeth in my other fic, but I picked the name then because "mari" obviously is a connection to the oceans, or marine life and all that. And then 'anne' was just a play on Annabeth. So Marianne is a sea-Annabeth. Please appreciate how clever I am, lol.

Shout-out time! (but like, imagine me singing it, because that's how I wrote it)

Shout-out goes to Notanyonepresently for both following and favoriting!

Lilbumkin - Inertia has nothing on me. Oh, same bro. And when I'm coerced into playing I just start making stupid decisions so I can leave and do something else, because that game take forever. See you tomorrow!

Guest I Guess - I love Percabeth, and in the fandom, I can't really pair anything else, but dang if I can't enjoy reading other pairings, then what's the point? Variety is the spice of life. (Yup, it is Reynabeth) I don't know, if we're talking different elements, I have to go with steam. I just feel like it's different from all the others. Like, it's not water or ice. Steam is where it's at. Ima be basic and say Hamilton, but I'm also a history junkie, so….The Lightning Thief Musical is really good, but I've never seen it, only listened to the soundtrack. But I also love Heathers and Beetlejuice. If you're looking for the crackfic of musicals though, let me draw your attention to TGWDLM (The guy who didn't like musicals) which is on youtube.

Also, you'll be pleased to know I took your advice for….six hours.

Fairyn - This is true. Thank you, it was good while it lasted.

PYBooks543 - are we talking, she makes them uncomfortable and embarrassed, they keep right on making-out, or some threesome shit? Because all three seem equally likely.

Have a lovely day!
