Chapter 38

Will Macovoy was a lawyer originally, a prosecutor specifically. In the summer of 2000 he became the on air legal correspondant for ACN News. Then on September 11th, he became a reporter. He didn't plan it, but one of their main reporters couldn't get across the Brooklyn Bridge, another was in Chicago and her flight was grounded, and a third was in the towers interviewing a source, they didn't know at the time if he was even alive. Thus Will became a journalist, and he did a good job, took to it pretty well. When interviewing someone, he would press for an answer and continue to press until he got a real answer. As both a lawyer and a journalist Will was dedicated to the truth, regardless of where it might lead, regardless of who it might benefit or hurt. Will enjoyed his life, his wife Mac, his son Charlie, a high paying job. He had to adapt to a new world, after the rapture, when alien refugees began coming to Earth. Then, on this day, Will got a call, from someone who refused to give his name.

.

Will: Hello?

Caller: Is this Will Macovoy?

Will: Yes. Who is this?

Caller: I have information you might be interested in.

Will: I still need your name.

Caller: Call me Deep Throat.

Will: I will not, tht is a sacred pseudonym in my profession. And by the way, Deep Throat identified himself when he first contacted Bob Woodward. He said "Hello, my name if Mark Felt. I have information about the Watergate burglary that you're investigating."

Caller: Fine, I'm Hank Jones.

Will: The football star?

Caller: Yes.

Will: And what information do you have?

Hank: It's about the alien refugees in Antarctica.

Will: How did you obtain this information?

Hank: A fan gave it to me.

Will: As oppossed to giving it to law enforcement or a journalist themselves.

Hank: They trust me.

Will: An obsessed fan gives a football player intel. I got to say, it is becoming less likely that the intel is legit.

Hank; You used to be a lawyer.

Will: I still am liscenced to practice law in the state of New York. I could however be disbarred for bringing evidence before the court like this.

Hank: But you will investigate. In less than three weeks the american people are going to vote in the mid-term elections. A lot of us are basing our votes on where the politicians stand on these alien refugees. Shouldn't they have all the facts?

Will: Fine, tell me what you have, and I'll investigate the source on my own.
