Gosh, I haven't touched this story in a long while. I never meant to leave it for so long, but life got in the way. I'm going to see if I can get back into this story, and if I can't I'll end it and perhaps start anew. Please give me story suggestions going forward. If there is a show you love or a ship, or anything, let me know and I'd love to write something about it! Thank you for continuing to read my stories. I love you all,
-Brielle
Kara had an arm wrapped around Maggie's shoulders as they stumbled into the DEO. Kara had tried to take the blade out of her torso, but just touching the hilt burn her palm, and Maggie—after seeing what Kara attempted to do—advised against removing the knife.
"Let's get this to Alex."
"No, we can't," Kara gasped.
"Alex is the best we have to—"
"She's blind, Maggie."
Maggie sighed. "I completely forgot."
"She's going to freak out."
"Definitely." Maggie paused. "I'll do it."
Kara stared at her. "Do?"
"I'll take the blade out."
Kara paled. "Maggie, you're not trained—"
"Yes, I am. Well enough, at least."
After a moment, Kara nodded. "Alright. Let's do this quickly before this blade moves and pierces something it shouldn't."

J'onn had left, leaving Alex to catch up on the lead. She crossed-referenced every single book store in National City and then traced when each copy of Romeo and Juliet had been purchased. The computer beeped, catching Alex's attention. She hovered the mouse over a section of the screen and the voice talked at her.
18 copies of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare was purchased by an Enola Katherine one week ago.
"Enola Katherine?" Alex asked. "Search databases."
There are no known Enola Katherine's in National City.
"So its an alias," Alex said. She drummed her fingers on the desk. "How was it paid for?"
Cash.
"Damn it. Were all the books purchased at one store?"
No. Each book was purchased at a different store, but all on the same day.
"Is there anything useful?" Alex said. "Did they sign anything? Or leave a phone number?"
No.
"Goddammit."
They left an email address.
"Fan-freaking-tastic," Alex said, bumping her fist in the air. "Trace the IP address."
The IP address was located to 201 Birchfield Drive.
Alex smiled. But then she stopped. She couldn't see. This was it. This was all she could do. She touched her comm. "Kara." Silence. "Kara? J'onn?" Nothing. She inhaled, shaking her hands. "You can do this, Danvers. Just a little blindness. Nothing you can't handle." She found her gun at the end of the table and strapped it to her side. Then, she tried calling Kara, but it went straight to voicemail. "Kara, it's me. I found a lead. I'm going there. 201 Birchfield Drive. Meet me there when you can." Alex shook her head. "God, you're so stupid, Danvers. You're not freaking Daredevil for God's sake."
…
The taxi dropped Alex off at the address; a bustling building from what she could hear. An apartment building. She went into the lobby, narrowly avoiding smashing her face on the revolving door, and asked if an Enola Katherine was a resident there.
"Enola Katherine," the woman said. "Are you family?"
"No," Alex said and took out her FBI badge. "I'm FBI."
"Oh," she said. "Of course. She's on the fourth floor. 417."
"Thank you," Alex said.
…
Alex was thankful every door had giant metal numbers so she could feel each one and know where she was. When she reached what she thought was 417, she knocked, straightening her shoulders.
Two locks clicked and then the door opened, a rush of wind brushing Alex's hair along her cheek.
"May I help you?"
Alex blinked. That voice.
The woman shifted her weight. "Ma'am?"
"I'm sorry," Alex said, shaking her head. "I'm looking for Miss Enola Katherine?"
"Yes, that's me."
"Agent Danvers, FBI," Alex said, bringing out her badge. "We have reason to believe you are involved in a series of murders."
"Me?" the woman chuckled. "And what reason is that?"
"You purchased 18 copies of Romeo and Juliet, of which pages have been found inside the victims' mouths."
"Oh, that's awful."
Her voice rose, the shrillness making Alex want to wince. She could have sworn she was talking to—
"I would never do such a thing."
"I understand, ma'am, but I need to ask you a few questions."
"I—"
Alex tilted her head. "Miss?"
She laughed. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were blind."
Alex bit the inside of her cheek. "It…happened recently."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"Don't be."
"Well, please come in, Alex, and we'll get down to business."
"Thank you, I—" she halted, the hair on the back of her neck rising. She took a step back, reaching for her phone and pretending to answer it. "Danvers. Yeah, no problem. I'll be there." She "hung up" and faced where she believed Enola was. "I'm very sorry, Miss Katherine, but I have to go."
"I'm sorry."
"You're sorry?"
"Yes," she said and then Alex heard the world fade around her, sounds melting into silence.
