PREVIOUSLY-
I went and changed out of my dress as Sam took the boys back home, opting for a t-shirt and leggings to be comfortable. I came back downstairs where Embry was sitting, talking to my dad.
"Well that's a new development, isn't it?" Charlie asked Embry as he pointed to my midsection. "It wasn't there last week."
"We all just noticed this morning, so I must have popped overnight." I told Charlie, yawning.
"Well, congratulations on graduating, baby girl, I'm proud of you. I know it's been a tough day and I can tell you're tired, so why don't you go take a nap so that you won't be so stressed out." He said, pulling me in for a hug. I felt the tears in my eyes and cursed my hormones again.
"I love you, dad." I told him as he went to leave.
"Love you too, Bells. You all better take good care of my baby girl and that little one. Wolves or not, I'm sure bullets still hurt." Charlie told all the wolves standing in the house.
"I kinda want to see if they actually do. How cool would it be to say that I've been shot?!" I heard Quil say to Jake and Jake just smacked him on the back of the head.
"Watch it, boy, I've got it loaded with hollow points and those make a bigger hole coming out than going in." Charlie told him laughing as Quil gulped and shook his head. Seth decided to ride with Charlie back to his house and I found myself being carried upstairs to take a nap with my imprint.
The next several weeks flew by after my graduation/encounter with Alice. Seth and Paul were on higher alert now than ever.
Just as Alice had said, the pack hadn't seen or smelled any vampires since graduation, and I was relieved in a way. I'd been able to de-stress a little, but I was still worried about what would be coming ahead in the future.
Embry finally graduated as well, and although he didn't have a ceremony, we held a huge bonfire in his honor.
We'd chosen August 6th as our wedding date officially, and I would be just over 20 weeks pregnant, officially.
It was the Tuesday before my wedding, which would be on a Saturday, and I had a busy day planned. My first duty was going with Embry to get the ultrasound that would tell us what our baby was. I couldn't wait to find out.
Next would be for Embry and I to go inspect our newly finished house, and then finally I'd be going with Emily, Leah, Rachel, and Kim up to Port Angeles to get the final fitting of my dress and their bridesmaids dresses. Paul and Seth would of course be tagging along because they wouldn't let me go anywhere without at least one of them, but especially because Port Angeles was an hour away. They wouldn't even trust me with just Leah.
Sometimes I found myself getting a little irritated with the constant guarding of my being, but I knew it was for a reason, and I wouldn't ever dare to be angry at Paul or Seth for something neither of them had control over.
I was really excited to see our new house, though our furniture wasn't supposed to be moved in until tomorrow, but I was even more excited for the ultrasound. I wanted to know so badly what we were having.
Embry was just coming in off patrol as I waited for him on the porch. He came walking out of the woods with his cutoffs on and immediately fell to his knees before me, kissing my now protruding belly as he had been since we had started to be able to feel our little one move.
It had been an incredible moment when we'd been lying in bed and felt it for the first time, just over 2 weeks ago.
Flashback
I was laying in bed reading as I leaned against Embry's chest with his hand reaching around to sit on my belly. I felt a small fluttering sensation in my stomach, similar to butterflies, the same as I had been for a few days.
"Babe, did you feel that?" He asked quickly, tapping his fingers on my belly. I felt it again.
"You felt that too? I thought it was just butterflies or like, I don't know, gas or something." I replied, embarrased.
"No, I definitely felt that. Thats our baby moving." He told me as we both felt it again, followed by a small nudge to Embry's hand.
"Whoa, it really is, isn't it?" I said, hoping the baby would continue as I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I felt another nudge.
"It just makes it all the more real, doesn't it?" he asked and I nodded, happily.
End Flashback
"Ready to go, mama wolf?" Embry asked, standing up and hugging me tightly. Even he'd been dragged into calling me that and I'd learned to just go with it.
"More than ready, and it seems like this little one is, too." I said, putting my hands down on my belly, feeling the baby kick softy. Embry put his hand where mine had been and smiled brightly.
"Hold up! Is she kicking?!" I heard Seth yell from the woods as he ran out with cutoff sweatpants. He was bound and determined that our baby was a girl and was so angry that he hadn't gotten to feel them kick yet. I motioned for him to come over quickly and Embry grabbed Seth's hand, placing it directly where the baby was kicking. "Whoa, that's amazing!"
"We are getting ready to head over to your mom's clinic to find out if it's a boy or a girl." I told him and he smiled up at me.
"You know my money is on girl, even though I'm the only one in the pack that thinks so." Seth said adamantly, his smile as wide as it could be.
"You guys better not have put bets on my baby." I told both Embry and Seth with aggression.
"Babe, it's the first pack baby, of course there's all kinds of bets, but don't worry, I'm making sure all of them are completely appropriate." Embry told me and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Fine then, if there's bets about my baby then I want in. For the record, I think it's a girl, too." I said, winking at Seth as they both gaped at me. "Come on Em, or we'll be late."
I pulled him along with me as we walked to the clinic, nervous about finding out. As soon as we got there, Sue motioned for us to come back to the room and had me lay on the table with my shirt pulled up. I had been wearing Embry's old sweats because none of my pants fit any longer, much to my dismay.
"So how has everything been? Have you felt the baby move yet?" Sue asked as she squirted the cold gel on my belly.
"Things have been really good, we could both feel the baby move about two weeks ago. It's been pretty active, especially when the pack is around." I told her and she smiled, placing the wand on my belly, moving it around as we began to see our baby on the screen.
"Things are looking really good from this side as well. Do you want to know what it is? The baby seems to want you to know." Sue said as I could see clearly two legs wide open on the screen.
"Of course." I told her, Embry holding my hand as we watched.
"It's a…"
I held my breath, waiting for the result.
A/N- Cliffhanger! What do you think it'll be, boy or girl? I got a lot more written last night since I'm quarantined and bored out of my mind. As always, please review.
