Chapter Twenty-Eight: Kella doesn't Meet Cole Guys...

Ray sipped at his mocktail as he walked into the monastery. Garmadon has moved out since his wedding, and Wu has taken over, turning it into a school of sorts. Just about all of his students were street orphans... though only one really appeared close to him. "Hi Mr. Smith!" Morro bounded into view, waving frantically at him.

Ray smiled, before holding out the drink that Morro had asked him to pick up. "Here you go Morro."

"Thanks." Morro accepted the drink, quickly taking a long sip. "Sensei is in his mediation room. He's been asking for you."

Ray nodded in acknowledgement, before moving past the teen to the monastery. "I best check what it is that he wants."

"See you around!" Ray grinned, pushing the doors open as he strolled right on in. Morro was a nice kid. Ray wouldn't be surprised if Wu actually does end up adopting him.

Shoving that thought to the back of his mind, he knocked on the door that led into the room that his friend insisted on mediating in. "Wu...? Morro said you wanted to meet with me?"

"I have a problem... one I'm hoping you can help me with." Wu shifted, pulling an ancient looking scroll that Ray had never seen before out. Ray arched an eyebrow, wondering what this was about. "Apparently there is a prophesy about a Green Ninja that will be far greater than all the other ninjas. According to the prophesy, he not only will wield great power, but he alone will defeat the Dark Lord... I fear that it is speaking of my brother... and I have no idea who this green ninja is supposed to be..."

"You're thinking about this too much. Most likely it is talking about an elemental master." Ray paused, thinking over the little bit that Wu had told him. "Which one has a power like no one has seen before? Most likely that is your green ninja."

Wu shook his head, brow creasing with worry. "The only ones that I can think of that meets that description are you, Maya, and Morro."

"Morro?" Ray started, surprise flashing through him. He had been unaware that the young boy had powers.

"He can control the wind apparently." Wu tapped a finger against his knee, thoughtfully staring at the scroll. "I best not keep you from your wife for much longer."

"Of course. Though I do wish for you to remember that our friendship should be plenty of grounds alone for us to visit for long hours. Maya won't mind one bit." Ray nodded, before turning and leaving the room. He still had groceries that needed to get put away before Maya gets back from her doctor's appointment. "I'll see you later Wu."

"Of course. See you later!"

Maya wiped frantically at her eyes, Rochelle's words still ringing in her ears. It just couldn't be... sniffling, she shuffled her feet over to where they had an open box of Kleenexes. Grabbing one, she blew her nose, tears still streaming down her features.

"Maya!? I'm home! Sorry it took me so lo..." Ray walked into the room, carrying a couple of bags of groceries, upon noticing her tears, he just about dropped the bags to the floor. "What happened?" He scooped her up in a hug, hurriedly wiping her tears away.

"Kella...she...she..." Maya burst into tears once more, unable to explain what had happened.

"She what? Did the baby come early? She's due later this month." Ray tried to guess what could have happened to make his wife burst into tears. But no, that didn't make any sense. That would be more of an happy tears thing, not the upset tears that she was wiping at frantically.

"No!" A wail escaped her as she blew her nose once more. "She was an her way home from the doctors when her car got hit. The doctors did everything they could to save her and the baby... but it wasn't enough!" Sobbing, she buried her face in Ray's shoulder.

"Did the baby at least made it?" Ray felt his heart thud loudly in his chest. The medicinal practices here were so far ahead from the ones back in that place they had fled from, surely they were able to save the child?

"No... Rochelle says it was a baby girl. The funeral for both will be next week." Maya sniffled as she tried to regain control of her composer.

Ray held onto her, gently rubbing his back as he noted to call Wu to let him know. For some reason everyone had a tendency to forget to tell him these kind of things...

"I don't believe this... Kella was so young!" Wu was stunned as he sat across from his best friend at the café table.

Ray shook his head, sipping at the warm apple cider that he had ordered. "I know. I was shocked too when Maya told me. Can we expect you at the funeral?"

"Most definitely. Mason and I might not be as close as we used to be, especially since the Serpentine War, but he is still my friend." Wu tightened his grip on his mug of hot cocoa.

A brisk wind whistled through the street, making Ray shiver. "I really hope that it's inside..." he pulled his jacket closer to him, noting that winter must be coming up pretty soon with how much frost was on the ground that morning...and was still visible.

"Kella loved the outdoors, so most likely it will be outside. besides that, the placing her in a grave will have to be outside anyways." Wu shrugged, blowing on his fingers in a poor attempt to warm them.

Ray groaned, but hoped that everything went smoothly. Chances were that she'll have her in-laws at the funeral as well. "I really don't like winter..."

"It's fall."

"I know. I still don't like winter."

A/N: Done! Finally! A week late... but I was having a really hard time killing Kella and her baby off. I won't actually write the funeral this time, since I feel really awkward whenever I do write about the funerals so presume it goes like normal funerals. Also... so far I only have two votes for the names...

Voting:

Celeste: 1

Luna: 1

I need more votes on the name thing before the next chapter super please! Celeste or Luna! Which one do you like more?

Reviews:

Starwindtheninja: I'm not really into writing action. I just struggle with that kind of thing. And I totally forgot about Morro! However since you pointed out that he should be there, I had him at the beginning of the chapter... and Ray accidently gave Wu the idea that Morro was the green ninja! Silly Ray. Glad that you are loving it. Your vote has been counted.

PiratePirata: No problem! I know that feeling. This is one of my better stories when it comes to getting reviews. I mean my Barbie story hasn't had a review in the last six, seven, chapters. And my Kingdom Keepers story is even worse... then I have some stories that I have marked complete that don't have any reviews at all basically. You're right... Luna is a bit overused, uh? Your vote has been counted.
