"Ruby, I need you to pick a tablecloth." Weiss slides two identical sample squares across the table.
"Uh... aren't these the same?" Ruby can't see any difference. Weiss huffs at that.
"I don't even why I asked!" walking away. Yang meanwhile is keeping herself busy by moving speakers into the auditorium.
"So, you picked out a dress yet Ruby?" Yang asks.
"What's the point? Who cares about dancing if you aren't any good at it? I don't even have a date anyway..."
"Ah, come on Ruby! We can find you a date in time for the dance! It doesn't start until tomorrow anyway!" Yang tries to cheer her up.
"You're going with Blake, Weiss is going with big bro, Ren and Nora are always together, and Jaune is Pyrrha's boyfriend. There aren't many options... maybe Sun?" Ruby sighs.
"Well, I doubt Sun would say no to anyone who asked him. Especially someone as adorable as you." Yang coos while poking Ruby's nose.
"Yangggggggg..." Ruby groans at being treated like a child. Yang laughs at that.
"Even if Sun is already taken or says no, there's plenty of girls here if you're into that Ruby." raising an eyebrow with a grin.
Ruby blushes at that.
"I've... never really thought about it. I guess I don't really care either way if I like them personally."
Yang smiles and ruffles Ruby's hair, believing she'll be able to find a date on her own. Noticing Weiss across the room, she sees something.
"Weiss! I thought we agreed upon no doilies?"
Weiss crosses the room quickly and sticks her finger in Yang's face.
"If I don't get doilies, you don't get a fog machine."
"Your dance is going to have a fog machine?" Neptune walks in with Sun and overhears.
"If Weiss stops being prissy, then yeah." Yang snorts. Weiss looks unamused.
"Sounds pretty cool." Neptune nods.
"You ladies all excited for dress up?" Sun quips.
"Hell yeah!"
"Kind of."
"No."
All three voices ring out at the same time.
"I'll be turning heads tomorrow. I hope Blake picked out a dress..." Yang crosses her arms and excitedly thinks about what her date will look like.
"Oh you going with Blake, Yang?" Sun questions.
"Yeah, we've just started dating too."
"Well... I'm happy for you. Truth be told, I kinda like her too but if she likes you then that's cool. I guess I'll have to find another girl to ask to the dance." Sun shrugs it off.
Yang devilishly grins and gesters to Ruby.
"My little sis doesn't have a date yet, ask her."
Ruby stares at Yang in horror for being put on the spot like this. Ruby panics and blushes at the suggestion.
"Ruby doesn't have a date? That's surprising." Sun genuinely is a little surprised at that because Ruby is such a nice person.
'Should I ask Ruby? I would be happy to go with her, but I don't know how she she'll respond to that...' Sun is slightly hesitant before just deciding to take the plunge.
"We can go together if you want Ruby?"
Ruby's brain stopped working for a second and she froze.
'Did Sun... really just ask me to the dance?! I don't wanna say no but I also don't know how to dance!' Ruby tries to calm herself down enough to answer.
"Y-yeah, we can... go together." Ruby's voice is quiet, but clear enough for Sun to hear. Sun smiles at Ruby's adorable acceptance.
"Cool, you should be warned though. I don't do suits, I'll probably show up in this." referring to his usual clothes. Ruby giggles at that. Yang rolls her eyes and smiles at the exchange.
'I'm glad Ruby accepted. She needs to get out a little more...'
Suddenly, the door opens and the air turns slightly chilly. Chris is standing at the door, looking at Sun directly and crossing the room to whisper in the frozen boy's ear.
"I know you're a good guy and all Sun, so that's why I'm gonna give you your warning now. You hurt her... they won't find your body. Understood?"
Sun quickly nods, causing Chris to smile and the air to return to normal. Chris wraps his arms around Weiss's waist from behind and pulls her in, making her giggle and lean back on him.
"You and ice queen, huh?" Sun raises an eyebrow.
"Didn't think Weiss would go for someone so... unique." Yang tries her best to seem shocked but it's not entirely convincing which causes Chris to stare in suspicion at her. Letting it go for now, he looks to Ruby to see her reaction.
"Am I gonna have a new sister?!" Ruby squeals, not understating the implication of what she just said. Weiss sputters and coughs, blushing crimson. Chris freezes for a second before adopting a thoughtful look.
"Marriage? It would be nice to settle down with someone I love... that'll have to wait for the future though Ruby." Chris explains.
Weiss looks slightly saddened at that statement. If her father has his way, she won't be able to marry for love. Chris notices her sudden sadness and kisses the top of her head before whispering in her ear.
"If your father can't accept your dating choice, then fuck him. He doesn't deserve you anyway... if we have to, we can just run away?"
Weiss feels indescribably happy at his words and rewards him with a kiss to which Chris responds to immediately.
"Ew! Don't do that in front of us you two!" Yang covers Ruby's eyes to protect her innocence, much to her confusion. Chris rolls his eyes with a grin at Yang.
"Don't be a hypocrite. I know you and Blake have been sneaking kisses around the school when you thought no one was looking."
"... okay, fine I'm guilty of that. I didn't do it in front of my sister though!" Yang retorts with a pout.
"My scroll begs to differ." Chris shows Yang a picture of her and Blake in history class sneaking a kiss.
...
"Delete that or you die." Yang's calm voice is contrasted by her semblance activating.
"Hehe, you sure? I think it's a cute photo mysel-"
Yang grabs his shirt and pulls out her own scroll, showing him the video of when he asked Weiss to the dance.
"You wouldn't."
...
"... would you?"
Yang's smile is all the answer Chris needs. They're in a stalemate.
"I won't show mine if you don't show yours. Deal?"
"Deal."
They shake hands on it.
"... what is happening?" Ruby just gives up trying to understand.
