The next couple of weeks were pretty productive, Jane had gone back to work to start her new position as Sargeant Detective, she was really getting the hang of this position. She was now working for an Anthony, the real Anthony that was supposed to be the new Lieutenant, it was odd working for a man named after the guy who kidnapped Maura and may or may not have killed Paddy Doyle, Jane was unsure of the truth at this moment in time, she didn't really want to bring it up to Maura about her concerns. The good thing was this Anthony was nothing like that man, he didn't dress in all black and he actually had a personality.

Her and Maura started watching Camille's kids at least once a week, they all thought that her and Cailin should have some alone time, and they didn't mind watching the kids. Todd definitely opened up more which was a pleasant surprise for both of them. And Kate deemed them both her very best friends at this point.

Jane, Frankie and Frost had helped Angela and Korsak move into their new house, Jane hasn't seen or spoken to Tommy since he went to go do his self discovery thing. Frost said they had a mutual break up but that didn't mean she didn't worry about where her younger brother had gotten to. Frost seemed to be pretty upset about it though, even though he said things were fine. Korsak had been getting a lot more hours at the bar after he was better from his vasectomy, Angela had hardly seen him lately. Jane always invited her over to help with the twins, she knew her mother quite enjoyed being around the kids as she patiently waited for the pregnancy to finish. She was currently 3 months pregnant. She was doing pretty well the doctor said he sees nothing wrong so far, so that was a relief to all of them. In a few days she was going to find out the gender of the baby, she was excited and hoping for another girl so she could have two girls and two boys, even things out. But she knew whatever it was she was going to love it just as much as her other kids.

It was currently March 8th and the weather hasn't been as cold as it had been in the winter, springtime was slowly approaching. The twins were on Angela's couch taking a nap, they had helped Jane and Maura paint the rooms and fallen asleep after they had lunch. Angela had paint picked out for her and Korsak's house since all the rooms were white when they moved in and since she couldn't paint, she needed to keep on resting Jane and Maura offered, it was a nice weekend activity for them and the kids.

Maura had been working on the invitation list for her and Jane's wedding while they took a break. They had found themselves a venue the weekend they went to go look and they got a date of April 14th, a little over a month away. They didn't really know a lot of people they had come to realize that they wanted to invite, mainly just family. Jane didn't mind having a small intimate wedding and she was glad that Maura was okay with that as well.

Constance had eventually came out of rehab she'd been in since she got released from the hospital after the hit and run over a year ago. She ended up in rehab because she had gotten addicted to pain killers, and she wanted to meet up with Maura and catch up with what had been going on in her life. Maura promised they could go out for lunch sometime next week. She was nervous about giving her updates in her life, but Jane had found a way to calm her down. They both figured Constance thought something had been going on with both of them anyways. Anybody could tell how close the two were before they even started dating. Jane was always very protective of Maura and that will always be the case.

Maura had gotten an email from Paddy just the other day, apparently he was doing well. He apologized a lot for making her think he was dead, but it was something he just had to do. Although Maura didn't really approve of his choice to escape out of prison. She didn't know where he was staying and he didn't want her to know for obvious reasons.

She looked over at the kids on the couch, Kate shifted slightly putting her head on Jane's lap, Todd was resting against Angela. She thought these kids were the cutest things, she was grateful for Cailin finding a person who could love her. She enjoyed being part of these kids lives, they only knew their mom as family growing up and now they had much more people they could look up to as family. Jane was definitely a natural when it came to children and it absolutely warmed Maura's heart. They had recently been looking at adoption agencies seeing if they were good candidates to adopt children, it was still to be determined. They didn't mind being involved in Todd and Kate's lives if something didn't work out for them and Camille absolutely adored both her and Jane so that was good news. Things were looking up for Maura and she was glad she had Jane by her side during it all.

Jane and Angela had eventually fallen asleep on the couch as well, Maura smiled at the four of them before getting up from the recliner and going to make some tea. As she was making the tea she heard a light knock on the front door, she sighed, going to see who it was, it was Tommy. Maura opened the door and let him in. "Hi Tommy, we haven't seen you in a little over a month, how are things? Jane was starting to get a little worried."

Tommy ran a hand through his hair, "Yeah, well I figured doing that self discovery thing I should kind of stop communication with everyone to figure shit out, get my life back on track. And I kind of fell off the wagon a bit when I was gone, I know I promised I wouldn't drink a lot but sometimes I just couldn't control the urges."

"Well I'm making some tea, if you wanted some," Maura offered and he nodded.

"Tea would be a great idea actually," he smiled and followed her to the kitchen. "Ma and Korsak have a pretty nice place here," he sat down at the table. "So how are things with everybody?"

"Things are going pretty well, the wedding is in a little over a month, we got a venue and a date picked out. We've been helping Camille out with her kids when she and Cailin want to go do something. They are actually here sleeping on the couch Kate and Todd with Jane and your mother..." she paused.

"And um, how has Frost been?" he asked, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Well that I'm not entirely too sure, you know Jane talks to Frost more than I do."

Tommy nodded, "Yeah, I can only guess that he's moved on by now, I mean I did leave and not mention when I was coming back. We agreed it was for the best, but I don't know if he thinks it was. I realized that I'm not ready to settle down like I thought I was, I thought about him a lot though but I just want the best for him. I care about Frost so much that's all I want."

"Maybe you should go talk to him, let him know how you feel," Maura shrugged, pouring hot water in some mugs and getting out some tea bags.

"It doesn't matter if he's moved on though, right? I don't want to ruin anything if he has found someone else, you know?" he dipped his tea bag in his mug, letting it sit there for a bit. "I can't just come back in his life like everything hasn't changed. That's not what I want at all. You know I was going to let Frankie have him before but they just sorta gave up before anything could begin." Tommy sighed. "Frost was never going to be able to trust me, I just feel so torn wanting to be happy myself and wanting him to be happy, there's no way it could happen together. I'm sorry to be ranting to you like this. This inner turmoil has been going on since I left, the reason it took me so long to come back."

"I'm sure if you talk to him you guys can clear stuff up, that's all the help I can actually offer you," Maura rested her hand on his. "I'm sorry that I can't be of much help."

"Nah, don't worry about it, didn't really expect you to help with anything, just guess I needed someone to talk this all out with," he smiled, squeezing her hand before letting go, taking a sip of his tea. "So where did you and Jane decide on getting married at?"

"Out of all the places we went to go see the place with the most beautiful set up just happened to be the aquarium. Plus it's near the water such a beautiful place to get married."

Tommy smiled, "I've been there to a private event before, they sure do know how to make things look nice. Good thing Jane ain't scared of fish, imagine that. I'm glad you guys are doing this, the whole getting married thing. I never thought of the day that Jane would get married but here it is approaching soon. And she couldn't be getting married to a more perfect person than you, it's nice how well you girls work together, gives us other people hope, and I get one hot ass woman for a sister in law that's a huge bonus."

Maura blushed at his words, "Don't let Jane hear you say that about me."

"Yeah, wouldn't want me to kick your ass," Jane walked into the kitchen smirking at her brother. "I finally escaped Kate, my legs were at the point of falling asleep. They weren't kidding when they said kids are like dead weight in their sleep," she shook her head, patting Tommy on the back, surprised to see him in Angela's kitchen. "Good to see you again Tommy, was beginning to think you weren't ever going to come back."

"Well I had thought about it, but I didn't want to just abandon everybody permanently. Plus I had to come back anyways, been gone from work for too long."

"Well whatever the reason I'm glad that you are back and okay. I was worried about you, you know..." Jane admits with a frown.

"I thought you'd be pissed about me disappearing like that, and for hurting Frost."

"Frost said things were mutual, plus he has been working hard lately, I think doing anything as a distraction from his thoughts on you. He doesn't seem to be in too much pain currently," Jane shrugged. "Although he's been spending a lot of time with Frankie, but can't blame them, they both got dumped by people they really cared about."

"Are you trying to make me feel bad Jane?"

Jane shook her head, "No I'm just saying, things have been different since you left is all. You really should go talk to them though, I'm neither Frost or Frankie so I'm trying not to get involved. You're on your own with this Tommy."

"Well thanks for the support."

"I support not having anymore drama in our lives. I'm honestly tired of playing babysitter with three grown ass adults," Jane rolled her eyes.

Maura frowned, "Jane, please watch your language..."

"But the kids are sleeping, you know I wouldn't cuss if they could actually hear me. I've been real good with my language around them," Jane sighed.

"I know I just don't want you to slip up, you were doing pretty well so far, but you never know they could always be listening." She was about to say something more when the doorbell rang. "That must be Cailin and Camille, I'll go get it," Maura told them before going to answer the door.

"Hey Maura, have the kids behaved themselves today?" Camille asked.

"Yeah they enjoyed helping me and Jane paint some of the rooms. They are asleep on the couch with Angela."

"Thanks for watching them. I owe you and Jane big time."

Maura smiled, "No worries, we were more than happy to do it. They are precious."

"Well I'm glad that they behave themselves for you," Camille smiled before going towards the couch to wake up her children.

"So how was your date Cailin?" Maura asked her sister once Camille disappeared.

"It was alright," Cailin looked into the living room for a moment before turning her attention back onto Maura. "There was a little bit of an incident but she acted like it wasn't a big deal. After the movie and lunch we went back to her place and well, let's just say it looked like someone had tried to break into her apartment. She said it wasn't the first time it happened and she just shrugged it off. We waited there until the locks were changed before coming here. I'm kind of concerned..." she frowned. "I would be scared out of my mind if that happened to me, especially if I had kids of my own."

Maura listened to Cailin and frowned, "That is kind of odd, does she know who might be doing this?"

She just shrugged, "I actually have no idea but you would think it was natural for someone to freak out over it. I offered for her to stay at me and mother's house I would feel much safer if they were somewhere close by, plus I've hardly bonded with the twins it would be a nice chance you know? Maybe Jane can convince her that staying somewhere else would be the best bet. If anything happened to the kids or Camille if she didn't take any precautions I wouldn't know what I would do about it. I don't even want to think about it," Cailin frowned. "We aren't even technically a thing at the moment, she wants me to get started on my career before we become something real serious. Plus I'm still pretty young and she doesn't really want me to put all my efforts in a relationship. It's a really weird dynamic that we have going on. But the point is I worry about her."

"I'm sure Jane would help convince Cami that being around other people and not staying at a place that can easily get broken into especially with kids, I'd be pretty upset if anything happened to the two of them, they really are great kids," Maura glanced over at the living room where Kate and Todd were stretching to wake up, smiling once they realized their mother was here.

"Camille is really grateful for all you do for her kids, you know that? She loves how she can trust you guys with them and how much they trust you and Jane," Cailin sighed. "I'm going to discuss that stuff with Jane, see if she would be willing to talk to Cami into finding a safer place to stay at, even if just for a little while."

"Alright, I'm sure Jane will do anything she can to help, she loves those kids like they were her own. She definitely got those Rizzoli mama bear genes."

Cailin smiled, "Yeah she's pretty bad ass," she whispered so the kids wouldn't hear her language before she headed to the kitchen. She stopped when she seen Tommy there, she wasn't aware that he was here. "Hey Tommy um, I'm sorry to interrupt but you mind if I talk to Jane for a moment alone. It's important."

Tommy looked at Cailin and smiled, "Sure," he grabbed his mug and left the room.

Jane turned to Cailin as the girl sat down, "What's up?"

Cailin informed Jane on the current situation of what was going on with Camille, after she got done explaining she sighed. "I'd really prefer if she would hear someone out about the whole going somewhere else for a little while. You are the detective and I'm sure she would listen to you. I just want her and the kids to stay safe."

Jane nodded, "I'll see what I can do, I would hate for anything to happen to Camille or those kids. I never thought I would love kids this much, they mean a lot to me."

Cailin nodded, "Yeah I can tell how much and they definitely love you a lot. All I hear is them talk about how much fun they have with you and Maura, you guys are a good influence on them and I know Cami appreciates it a lot. I like how protective you are," she smiled, resting a hand on Jane's.

Jane nodded, "I look out for anyone, if you want to go get Camille I can talk to her see if I could get her to go somewhere safer than her apartment."

"I'll be right back, thanks for this Jane if you are able to convince her. I owe you one."

"Hey kiddo, it's no big deal as long as everyone stays safe," she nodded as Cailin went to go get Camille.

She was in the living room listening to her kids talk about all the fun they had painting today. "I hate to interrupt, but Camille, Jane wants to talk to you about something, if your kids don't mind."

Kate and Todd looked at each other and nodded, "We don't mind," they grinned before talking to Tommy about something.

When Cailin and Camille were out of the living room Camille looked at her, "You told Jane about what was going on, didn't you?" she asked with a frown and Cailin nodded.

"I had to Cami, you were acting like it's no big deal, please just go talk to her, I'll feel better, please?"

Camille just nodded and sighed, "Fine, okay. I know you're just worried about me."

"You and the kids, please just hear her out."

"Alright," she sighed and went into the kitchen to sit next to Jane. "She told you what happened..."

"She's worried about you and the kids, and so am I. She told me that it happened more than once?" Jane eyed the woman and she nodded.

"It only happened twice, but it was never when the kids were there and I had my locks changed right away," Camille ran a hand through her hair. "I know it's irresponsible of me to act like it's no big deal, but if I freak out my kids will know and I don't want them stressing out of what might be nothing."

"Someone breaking into your place isn't nothing, whether you are there when it happens or not," Jane frowned. "Do you want something happen to those kids?"

"Why does that sound like an accusation?"

"I care about those kids, they are very special to me and I feel like they are part of my family I don't want anything to happen to them. You said it yourself how much you trust Kate and Todd with Maura and I, and I want to do anything to make sure they stay safe. Do you have someone you can go stay with? I can send a police officer to check on your whereabouts every now and again to make sure things stay safe."

Camille looked at Jane and she could see how serious the problem was, she didn't want anything to happen to her kids, and now they had more family and people who wanted to look out for them. "I-yeah the only friend I have and trust is the one who works at the daycare, the one who takes good care of my kids. We've been best friends for years now after their father abandoned the kids and me. I think she wouldn't mind having us over. But how do I just leave my place without worrying the kids?"

Jane shrugged, "You can always say you are going to have a long slumber party at someone else's house. I mean they always seem okay when you drop them off to see us," she looked at the woman, wanting her to make the best decision. "And Maura and I would love to help more but we have things going on in our lives right now we hardly have time to have kids over except once a week."

Camille nodded, "I know you and Maura love having them around, they really do love hanging out with you both and Angela."

"Well glad we have that settled, keeping your kids safe is much better than acting like nothing is happening. I hate when there are crime scenes that involve kids, or kids losing their parents. I do not want that happening to them," Jane told her with a frown.

"I'm sorry if I made you think they weren't important to me, they are my whole world. And I was just being dumb, I mean the world is a scary place, right?"

"The worst. Anyways I'm glad we had this talk."

"Me too. If anything happens at least I know Kate and Todd have more people to look after them," Camille stated with a sad smile. "I'd protect them before I protected myself, all the time."

Jane nodded, "You know, I would do the exact same thing. There's a little bit of protective Mama bear in all of us."
