His Silent Scream

Chapter 33

Author Notes: And we're back~ Holiday times are over-so that means like we all know...it's back to school blue vibes! But hey we got Haou and Jehu together...and there's going to be some fun times ahead as they reach the next seasonal festival~ I do not own Yugioh.

3rd P.O.V

Christmas thankfully came and went. Though Haou would never admit it out loud, he did feel slight disappointment when it ended. Only Slight though, he still thought the holiday was a royal pain in the ass to deal with. But he actually did have fun at the party.

He was still going to kill Atticus for giving him one of those damn game consoles for his gift though. Now that he recalled there were a lot of people he needed to kill. But Atticus was first, since he made Haou play for hours on the stupid thing with a new game as revenge for beating him in duel racing.

Some sort of fighting game or whatever. Honestly he couldn't care less about whatever it was called, but man did the brunette grind his gears. How Alexis dealt with him, Hao couldn't understand. But talking to Marcel, watching his family smile, and just...have this sense of peace that he never really had made it memorable.

Until he realized just how much of a mess his kitchen was. When him, Jehu and Alexis came down they found a food fight happening. Making him ready to rip everyone's head off. Not even his boyfriend holding him down was enough to curve his wrath!

Yoko was the next on his shit list. She was banned from the cooking area because she can't seem to help causing Haou misery when she enters. Not only because she destroys his kitchen every time she shows up...But on top of that Haou found himself caught under her little mistletoe with Jehu.

Forced into a great-but obviously embarrassing kiss where catcalls were heard from all sides. Revenge was evident. So despite the fun Haou was absolutely exhausted, officially done with the obnoxious holiday as well as the people who made him celebrate it.

As soon as he got his first dose of coffee he kicked all of the irritable morons out of his house the next day before going about taking the stupid decorations down. He was SO happy to be back in school. "I take it your winter break went well Haou?"

Professor Banner offers his student a smile as he took a sip of his tea. "For the most part. I was ready to make use of your teachings however. Yami, and a few other certain individuals were driving me insane." The wise science teacher chuckled, already well aware.

Yami already giving him the story earlier this morning. "So what did you need me for Mr. Banner?" It was the free block before his forensics class, and though he didn't mind Haou thought it was strange for Banner to ask for a private conversation.

"Well I was wondering if you would be interested in assisting me for the winter festival coming up." It was a peculiar request. But then again, Banner had asked if he was willing to aid him last time too.

And he would've if he wasn't scrambling alongside Tome to get the cafe ready. Now that he (thankfully) had more time and the culinary teacher was already getting to work on finding more students, it seemed more doable. "Sure. What's it this time? Another murder mystery?"

The older man shakes his head as he places his cup down. Going through his desk drawers, looking for a specific set of papers. "Not this time. I figured I would try something new. Something that I think you especially will enjoy." With a small grin Banner finds what he was looking for.

And immediately Haou's eyes light up. "I'm so in." He didn't even need to read through all of the papers. His response earned him a beaming smile, as this was something Banner was looking forward to trying for ages now.

Right now only a small handful of his students were aware of the little project, wanting to keep it a surprise. "Excellent. I already have several students providing me with help. So you can focus on aiding Mrs. Sheppard. But I will need you for that one day."

It was more than doable. "I'll be there." The science teacher was hoping he would say that.

Jehu tapped his fingers gently on his guitar as he raised an eyebrow. "Ok, i'll bite. What's got you in such a good mood?" The couple were sitting next to each other on the ground, laying against one of the trees where there wasn't too much snow. Despite it being the dead of winter it wasn't too cold out today, it was so nice.

Haou had his eyes closed while Jehu played with his strings. Trying to remember the proper notes for the song sheet in front of him. He's been absolutely obsessed with his new guitar, bringing it with him everywhere he went to get some practice in.

"Talked to Banner today. He's drafted me for the winter festival." Now that got the bluenette's attention. "But you hate festival hell. Why are you happy about it?" A small hum escaped him as he leaned his head on the older boy's shoulder, sighing.

With the nice weather and peaceful quiet, he could fall asleep right here with no qualms. "I don't have to do any prep work. He only needs me for the day of the event. But he told me to keep it on the downlow. It's supposed to be a big surprise that'll knock Yami off his high horse."

Something the brunette was more than happy to take part in. "Ah, now it makes sense." Jehu chuckled, only to gasp as Haou kissed his jaw. He was Really liking this side of his boyfriend. Despite the fact they were boys and just started dating...

He couldn't think of the phrase as he found the brunette pressed his lips all over him.

'A happy wife means a happy life.'

And he was all for it. Other then the kissing there really hasn't been much of a change between them. They were already acting like a couple before they officially got together and talked about their feelings. Now though the two felt more free, far more open with their words and gestures.

Haou especially relieved to find Jehu tell Mindy and Jasmine that he was dating him. Essentially getting them to piss off and stop with the flirting. "Have your wrists been hurting?" And Jehu has been taking his boyfriend duties very seriously.

Specifically with the sixteen year old's' health. "No. Not since my birthday." Gloved hands interlace, with Jehu pulling them to his lips. "I'm still sorry about hurting you." The guilt hasn't gone away. It probably wouldn't ever, even if it set their relationship into motion.

"Stop that. It was an accident." His wrists, though the injuries were closed were not totally healed. They were very sensitive in fact. The veins weaker then normal, causing aches and throbs to shoot up the arms. It was amazing that Haou could even use his hands still.

With how bad the damage was it was a miracle he was not only alive, but able to move his limbs without too much issue. Of course it also meant Jehu had to be very careful. A small amount of pressure was the equivalence of someone purposely crushing his arm at full force.

Though the brunette hated being considered fragile, he couldn't deny he had to be careful. But it just got annoying with people constantly hovering over him like mother hens. "I'm not made of glass Jehu. You shouldn't have to be worry about me."

The bluenette snorted as he lips brushed the mop of brown and orange. "I'll always worry about you. It comes with the job." That answer got him a light punch in the arm as they got up from the ground.

Pushing off the access snow off their bodies, Haou glanced up at the sky, taking a deep breath as Jehu put his precious child away, tucking it safely in its case. "So I heard from Aster we're getting a new student." Together they took a walk to the Anderson household.

"So late into the school year? Why?" All Haou got was a shrug, he had no idea himself. He just figured he'd spread the gossip. "No clue, but it'll be hilarious seeing his or her reaction around festival time. Because apparently that's when they're showing up."

The juicy info wasn't really all that important however. No, Jehu had bigger issues. "Are you ready for midterms?" The dreaded question came with a pained groan, confirming Haou's suspicions.

"Let me guess...you've been too busy practicing your guitar instead of studying." They just got back from winter break, and already the students were scrambling back into a hectic schedule as they were forced to review.

Of course Jehu as well as several others in their friend group were struggling with playing catch up. Running Haou, Bastion and Marcel ragged in helping them. "No! I've been studying, but Crowler -I swear to god gave me the wrong review packet. And Bonaparte is being mean to me. He's not even giving me one!"

There was no pity to be found, as he took note of Jehu looking away from him, a sign that he wasn't being all that truthful. Because yes, he was making his music practice a bigger priority. Haou could only shake his head with a sigh.

"When we get to your house, I'm putting it away. No distractions!" Haou was the only person that was allowed to touch his precious child. Not only was it the brunette who gave him the blasted thing(so he can argue it was theirs) but he trusted him with it.

Not that Haou was really interested in playing. He liked music sure, but he'd rather bake and create something that had a physical form. Preferably something he could eat. "Fine. Just remember the twins want you to sleep over tonight." Of course he remembered.

And even if he didn't, he already had a bunch of his stuff already at Jehu's house for such an occasion. Jennifer didn't care about Haou sleeping with Jehu, so long as it was actually sleeping. Which was fine for the couple, neither of them were anywhere near ready for That particular activity.

"That's fine, they've been wanting to show me their new drawings." For Christmas Haou gave each of them their own sketchbook and an art kit. Their reactions similar to their big brother as they felt their present inadequate.

But the moment Haou opened it he immediately ran into the bathroom, putting on one of the hand drawn duel monster t-shirts. Throwing the wretched sweater right into Yami's face(everyone including his husband and daughter laughing hysterically at his reaction)as he came back out.

Grinning happily at the wing kuribohs and ruby carbonacles all over it. He got three different design t-shirts, all of them way too big, and he loved each one. Crushing the boys into a hug as he stated he now had a physical reminder of his duel racing win.

Which is what prompted Atticus to boot up the fighting game in the first place and made the brunette play well into the night cursing his existence. Leading him to now plotting the seniors' demise. Which he planned on doing very soon with Banner's assistance.

to be continued
