Chapter Thirty-Three: In The Spell

PowPow456: Don't worry about Amanda and Alex ever breaking up. I love them too, but I will be giving them a bit of a rocky time in the sequel.

JustAnotherFanGirl2004: I'm glad you're getting to read my story! And I really enjoyed rewriting Little Red Riding Hood, since I thought Cerise's parents' backstory was a bit odd. Not in the way that a villain and a hero fell in love, but in the way that Red literally fell in love with someone who tried to eat her. Plus, I like rewriting fairy tales.

Now, on with the story!

What? Did you think that you would get to see what happens next? Sorry, but before you get to see that, we're going to see what's happening to the others while they're under the spell.

Apple felt numb. What happened?

Then, the memories returned. Amanda's past, her brother...The last thing Apple remembered was Cedric and Amanda facing off, and Cedric waving his hand at all of them. Then, it all went black.

Worry about the others filling her, Apple forced her eyes open and looked around. She was in a bit white...nothing. It didn't even look like there was a floor, but she was clearly standing on something.

She looked around to see if anyone else was with her, and saw a flash of red. She turned and saw the two worst people to be with - Daring and Cerise.

Did Cedric plan this or something? Is this just to make them feel awkward?

I don't think do. I think the spell was made to pair them up with the worst people. For example, these four because it's just awkward. I'm guessing Raven and Briar will be together to drive Hopper and Dexter crazy with worry, and Maddie will be with them because her craziness just won't help and she'll be worried about Raven.

And the demigods will all be together since they'll be worried about Amanda and shaken by what happened with Cedric. They'll try to calm each other, but it won't work since they're all feeling similar things.

Oh. That makes sense.

"What's happening?" another familiar voice said from behind her, and Apple turned to see Darling. She had to ignore the pang of pain she felt at seeing the beautiful princess. Despite what Darling thought, Apple really did love her.

"Well...this is awkward," Cerise said after a moment of silence.

Darling suddenly screamed.

"Are you kidding me?!" the usually calm teen shouted. "Amanda is out there facing her psycho brother, and we're stuck in some sort of white place, completely helpless!"

"Well, we may as well fill the time somehow," Cerise said, sitting down and motioning for the others to join. When no one did, she glared at them.

"Okay, I don't want to do this either, but if we can't help Amanda we may as well solve our problems. And don't say we don't have any! Daring told me about you guys, so sit because we're doing this," Cerise said stubbornly.

Therapist Cerise is on her way!

Do you think she can actually solve their problems?

No, but she'll make them solve their own problems.

Daring slowly sat next to her, and Cerise turned her attention to Darling and Apple, raising an eyebrow. With sighs, the two also sat in front of her.

"Good," she said with a grin. "Now, who's going first?"

Apple sighed. "Are you really going to make us do this?"

"Yes."

"Well, then I will," the daughter of Snow White said.

"With who?" Daring asked, giving her a bit of a nervous look.

"How about you?" Apple retorted.

"Okay, this is going to be fun. Great idea, Cerise," Daring said with a glare at his girlfriend, who retorted with, "Well, we're not going to go through the rest of our lives hating each other if I have anything to say about it."

"I don't hate you guys," Apple said. The couple gave her a confused look, and she continued, "I'm just hurt. Like I've said, Daring and I were always just meant to be friends. However, that doesn't change the fact that you cheated on me!"

Cerise looked at Darling with a bit of a confused look when the words didn't even surprise her. Noticing this, Darling whispered to Cerise, "I know my brother well. It was obvious."

Cerise smiled and nodded but neither Daring nor Apple noticed since they were still talking.

"Look, I admit that I made a mistake," Daring said. "But, in my defense, you were so set on following our destinies back then. Plus, you can be totally scary sometimes."

To everyone's surprise, Apple burst out laughing.

"You - Daring Charming - are afraid of me?" she wheezed through her laughter.

Daring blushed. "As I said, you've clearly never seen an angry Apple White."

When Apple calmed herself, she said, "Okay, how about this? Since we've both agreed that we're good as friends and that we can be with whoever we love, how about we call a truce? I've moved on from you, and I don't want my anger to tear friendships apart. Of course, if you ever betray me again I will not forgive you."

Daring smiled in relief. "Deal."

"Perfect. Now that we fixed that, Daring and I will give you two some privacy," Cerise said, grabbing Daring by the arm and pulling him away. Darling and Apple were left in awkward silence.

Cerise really wants to force them to make up, huh?

My guess is that she got fed up with all the awkward tension, and decided to do something about it.

"Okay, now this is a conversation I want to have," Apple said, crossing her arms. She may be a sweet and kind girl, but when the time came she could be stubborn.

Darling sighed.

"Apple, like I said, I don't want to be with someone who only wants to be with me because of destiny," Darling said firmly. Apple felt sadness. If only she knew...

"Darling, please just give me a chance," she begged. "Destiny doesn't matter to me anymore, it really doesn't. But you do. Please."

Darling looked up at Apple's pleading eyes. She realized that Apple was telling the truth. She did really care about Darling, but Olivia had also said she did...

"I have to admit, our so-called destinies aren't the only thing bothering me," Darling said slowly. Apple frowned.

"Darling, what is it?" she asked gently.

"Well...you know how I told you that Olivia and I broke up before sophomore year? There's a bit more to that story. Olivia cheated on me. It was a week before our anniversary."

Poor Darling.

Apple looked shocked. She had clearly not expected that.

"Well, I promise I won't cheat on you. I just want you to give us a chance, but if you ever get uncomfortable or don't want to be with me you can end it. Please, Darling."

Darling looked hesitant, but then nodded.

Apple broke into a huge smile, and Darling did the same. They both had a feeling this was going to work out.

Suddenly, there was a cracking sound and Raven, Maddie, Dexter, Briar, and Hopper appeared.

"I did it!" Raven said happily.

"How did you guys get here?" Cerise asked.

"Cedric's spell separated us, but he didn't think about Raven's powers," Dexter explained. "She managed to teleport her and Briar to where we were, and then she teleported us here."

"I wasn't sure if I could do it a second time, but I can!" Raven said, excited about this new development.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get the others!"

When Alex opened his eyes, he saw that he was in the same white roomish thing. Around him were the other demigods, also getting up.

They all looked at each other, then Alex said, "I can't believe this!"

"Alex, I know we're all worried and shocked, but we need to calm down," Kyle said helplessly.

"Calm down? Amanda could die, Kyle!"

"Alex!" Zoe said, grabbing his shoulders. "Amanda won't die. She's way too strong for that."

"But with Cedric it's an even match!" Alex said.

He's right - Amanda's life is in danger.

Brooke, no meddling!

But-

No buts - listen to your father.

FINE.

Before they could say anything else, the Ever Afters appeared and greeted them, explaining how they got there.

"Can you take us out?" Alex asked hopefully, but Raven shook her head.

"I tried, but apparently the spell restricts my teleporting to inside it."

"At least we're together now. By the way, how is Cedric even this powerful? I've never seen any of you do stuff like this," Dexter asked the demigods.

To no one's surprise, all of them turned to Izzy.

"This is what you're best at. Explain it to them," Eve said, smiling when she saw the look on Izzy's face.

"Well, it's like this," she said. "There are three gods that are the most powerful - Zeus, Hades, and Posiden. They're called the Big Three, and their kids are the most powerful. Although Zeus is the King of the Gods, Hades' children are often the most powerful. That's one reason Zeus feels threatened by Amanda sometimes and probably why he-he killed Emma - since she is - I- I mean was - so powerful."

Izzy's voice trembled a bit when she talked about Emma, but she took a deep breath and continued.

"Hades' children have power over all shadows, creatures from the Underworld, and the dead. You've never seen Amanda in a real fight. It's kind of scary," Izzy said. "The three of them never abused their powers, so something is clearly wrong with Cedric."

"But what?" Briar asked.

The demigods exchanged looks.

"We don't know."

And that concludes this chapter. This story is ending soon, but I still really love it and enjoyed writing this chapter. I'm sorry if you don't like it or it feels rushed, but I needed to mend things between Apple, Darling, Cerise, and Daring. Leave a review and tell me what you thought about it!
