Chapter 29
Arrival of The Inferno
Shinji was standing in the lobby of the Elven Queen's residence with his mentors father Aranel, waiting for the queen's attendant to return.
"Lord Aranel, what are we waiting for? Can't we just go to Daena and heal her?" Shinji asked, getting impatient because he was anxious to meet the greatest elven songstress.
"The queen is getting her ready. Daena has always been afraid of men and humans. Even when she sung for the village, the men had to be kept at the back row, otherwise she wouldn't be able to sing. As for humans, she was kidnapped once by human bandits when she was visiting our kin in another forest. The bandits wanted to violate her but she was saved in time." Aranel explained.
"Damn. Would she be more at ease if soldiers surrounded me and pointed weapons at me to make sure I won't try anything?" Shinji asked, half-joking.
"That could work. But I don't think the queen would want to treat Lianna's vassal like a threat." Aranel answered seriously, not picking up the joke.
"How old is Daena by the way?" Shinji asked, wanting to strike a conversation.
"She is 312 years old now." Aranel answered bluntly.
"And how did she contract the disease that made her unable to sing?" Shinji asked.
"I wasn't at the village she was in when she became ill, but I heard that someone might have given her contaminated water. Nobody could prove any of it, since it was Daena's attendant who made water for her with her magic. And I have never heard of anyone who could create contaminated water." Aranel answered.
"Lord Aranel, Shinji, the queen and Daena are ready for you." Tome, the Queen's attendant said as he came downstairs.
Tome lead them upstairs to double doors with elegant and beautiful white vine carvings on it. "Lord Aranel, please wait outside. The queen wants only the healer to enter." Tome said and Aranel sat down on a chair next to a wall.
Tome motioned Shinji to enter and he did so. The room looked like a guest room with a luxurious bed, large desk and several fire and light magic stones on the walls. There was also a table and a wooden couch with cushions.
Shinji looked at the two elven women and Daena was looking at the floor. She looked like a woman in her twenties and her platinum hair came down to her lower back. She wore a white skirt that reached her knees and a white tunic. She also wore sandals which also had leather straps that reached her knees and on her head was a silver headband adorned with blue jewels.
"Shinji, I'm glad you could come on such short notice." The queen said.
"Of course your majesty. I was looking forward to meeting your peoples greatest songstress." He answered.
"Daena, this is the healer I told you about. The one who healed my face and freed Echidna." Shiki told the singer.
Daena looked at Shinji, nodding her head slightly. He could now see that her eyes were purple.
"Appraise." Shinji said and her status screen said the usual info as well as her conditions, which was Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which required 'Cure Heal' and Androphobia, which required 'Heal'. Daena's entire body was glowing in his eyes.
"What is wrong with her?" Shiki asked.
"Uh, a disease that deteriorates her muscles and apparently her fear of men can also be cured." He answered, glad that the appraise gave a simple explanation for her physical disease.
"I have heard of that disease. It cannot be cured even by elven medicine." Shiki said.
'Most of these illnesses can't be cured by modern day human medicine.' He thought to himself.
"Daena, I can cure you, but I have to touch you. May I?" He asked the songstress.
"Don't worry Daena. I trust Shinji and he won't do anything to harm you." The queen assured the singer, who still looked uncomfortable.
The singer nodded and closed her eyes. Shinji took it as a sign to continue.
He went behind the songstress and placed his hands on her head and chanted 'Heal'. The singer flinched in sudden pleasure as the healing power removed her fear of men.
He didn't give her time to catch her breath and placed his hands on her shoulders and chanted 'Cure Heal' which healed her sickness.
Daena on the other hand felt how her sickness was dissipating from her body and felt her vigor returning.
When he finished, he appraised Daena again. "Daena, my appraisal says that you are cured now." He stated.
"How do you feel Daena?" Shiki asked curiously.
She was silent for a minute before she answered.
"I... I feel great. My voice is back and I don't feel sick. And when I look at you, I'm not afraid. My hands and legs are working and I don't feel pain."
The queen smiled, happy to hear her voice again. Shinji on the other hand was shocked. Daena's voice was so beautiful that he could get addicted to it.
"Your name is Shinji?" Daena asked happily and he nodded. "Thank you so much Shinji. I can finally sing again. When I make a new song, I'll dedicate it to you." She promised.
"I'm flattered." He replied, but he was also embarrassed. A famous songstress announcing his name before she sang the song was something he wasn't used to.
"Well done Shinji. What kind of reward would you like for this?" The queen asked.
"Again, I have no idea. If you want to pay me money, then I will accept it." He replied.
"I know what I will give you for this. I will give you 50 gold coins and a shield that is enchanted to protect the wielder from fire magic." Shiki said.
"I gladly accept it your majesty." He said, glad that it wasn't something overly fancy.
"I'll have it delivered to Lord Aranel's house later. You may go now Shinji." Shiki told him.
He bowed and left the room. Daena spoke to Shiki. "My queen, just who is this young human?"
"I'll tell you what Aranel told me about him." The queen said and started telling about Shinji to the songstress.

Outside the mansion, Lord Aranel saw Shinji come out.
"What happened?" Aranel asked.
"I healed Daena's illness and her fear of men. When she saw me, I thought she was going to faint, but after I healed her, she wasn't scared anymore." Shinji answered.
"You managed to cure her fear of men?" Aranel asked in disbelief.
"Probably because her fear of men was almost like a disease, but I can't say for sure." Shinji added. He was going to say pathological, but that word most likely didn't exist in this world.
"Interesting. Can you find your way back on your own? I want to go and see Daena myself." Aranel asked.
"Don't worry about me." Shinji said and started heading back to the Valtharos house. He was hoping that he could catch Hana before she went to bed, since it was late afternoon and the sky was starting to turn orange.
He arrived at Ayl's home almost half an hour later, since he had to stop along the way to heal an elven boy who had been playing tag with his two friends and tripped, which resulted a scraped knee and a bloody nose.
As he entered, he saw Ayl reading a book on the couch. "Ayl, I'm back."
"How did it go Shinji?" She asked curiously.
He told her what transpired at the queens residence.
"And she promised you a shield for a reward? Along with money?" Ayl asked.
"Is there something special about the shield?" He asked.
"These particular shields are reserved for our Army. The protection against fire magic they provide are superior." Ayl explained.
"Well then, maybe it will be useful one day." Shinji stated.
"I'm sure it will. But let's eat, Hana is making some chicken soup and boiled eggs." Ayl said, her mouth already watering.
"Where is Lilia and Tia? And Brighid?" Shinji asked.
"Tia went to the cottage to swim and Brighid went out to find monsters in the forest. As for Lilia, she hasn't come out of the guest room since yesterday. What did you do to her Shinji?" Ayl demanded.
"I made her cum and she passed out. When I woke up, she was gone and haven't seen her since then." He answered, now wondering why the blond cat girl was hiding in a guest room.
"Why don't you go and see if you can get her to eat with us?" Ayl suggested as she got up and went to the kitchen. Shinji went upstairs and found the only locked door.
"Lilia, are you in there?" Shinji asked as he knocked on the door.
"GO AWAY!" Lilia shouted, though she didn't sound angry.
"What's wrong Lilia?" He asked and received no answer. "Lilia, did I do something to upset you?" He asked.
"No, I did something." She answered.
"Open this door Lilia and let's talk about it." He suggested.
"I'm too embarrassed!" She shouted.
Shinji unlocked the door with his metal powers like he did with the chest at the meadow and saw Lilia curled under the blanket.
"Lilia, please talk to me." Shinji said as he went to sit on the bed.
"Urgh! I passed out before we…." She started after some hesitation.
"You're embarrassed because I made you cum with my tongue and you passed out?" He asked, finding her reason a bit funny.
She groaned because he was spot-on.
"No need to be embarrassed Lilia. A similar thing happened to Hana a while back. Though I was a little bit upset that I didn't get to make love to you, I'm over it now and we can do it some other time again." He comforted her.
"You're not upset anymore?" Lilia asked hopefully.
"No. As I said, we can have sex at some other time. If you want to, that is." He answered.
She hugged him tightly. "Thanks Shinji. I was worried that I disappointed you and wouldn't want to stay with me anymore. I'm glad you're so understanding."
"And I'm glad you're feeling better now. Come on now, let's go eat. Hana is making some chicken soup and boiled eggs." He told and she gladly followed.

(The Next Day)
"What is this called Shinji?" Tia asked.
Shinji had gone over to the cottage where he had his alone time with Hana and Lilia. Tia had spend the night in the cottage, since she sprained her ankle when she was done with swimming.
Tia was glad to see Shinji, since she had trouble sleeping because her ankle hurt like hell and Shinji healed her ankle, which she appreciated greatly and didn't stop kissing him for 5 minutes.
He explained to Tia what he did yesterday at the queens residence, the same explanation he gave to Lilia and Hana before they went to sleep. Tia was impressed and was now anxiously waiting to hear Daena's singing.
And as he promised to Tia, he would exercise with her and he suggested the following exercise to her.
"It's called three-legged race. In Lille, we sometimes competed who could finish the run around the village fastest. I won once with my friend Rei." He answered as he tied the leather strap around their legs.
"Hmm, sounds fun." Tia stated simply.
Shinji's hand went over to her hip as did hers and they started walking slowly at first to get used to it. They walked around the pond and then they started walking faster for another lap. They finished the second lap faster and Tia insisted they run the third lap and it went well at first, but since Tia tried to run as fast as she could, they both fell down.
"Puuh." They both gasped for air as they got up.
"Don't try to run so fast Tia. I'm not as fast as you." Shinji said as they stood up.
"Sorry, I got carried away." She replied and they started running in a slower pace. The both got the hang of it and managed to run around the pond without tripping.
"This was fun Shinji. We should do this again when we have the chance." Tia said, smiling lightly.
"I had fun too Tia. Are we going to swim now?" He asked as he untied the strap.
"No. Let's go inside now. I want to lie down on the bed with you." Tia said, her face turning slightly pink.
He cleaned them with water magic and soon they were half naked on the bed making out. Tia was getting aroused as her naked breasts rubbed against his chest and he felt his member getting hard as her smooth pale skin and firm breasts rubbed against him.
Tia was more aggressive then usual as she was kissing him harder then before and her hands were tightening around his neck
His hands were caressing her back and silver hair as he tried to get his tongue in her mouth, but her tongue was pressing against his in his mouth, so he couldn't.
Tia pulled back to catch her breath, from which he was thankful, since he too needed a breather.
"Shinji, could we head back to Ithalan soon?" Tia asked.
"Are you bored here Tia?" Shinji asked, thinking that his quarter-vampire lover missed the action.
"A little bit. There aren't any monsters to hunt around here and there isn't much to do either." She answered.
"That's true, but when the game I invented is ready we could play it together." He suggested.
"We can, but right now, I want you." She said and started kissing him again.

(Elsewhere)
Echidna had come across a trail of blood on her way to Ithalan and the arrows at the scene were clearly made by goblins. Deciding to follow the trail and kill those green abominations just for fun, she was currently hiding in the bushes, wearing a hooded cloak that masked her scent and observing the cave entrance in a distance.
'Two gobbies guarding, the other is sleepy. This is going to be easy.' She thought as she assessed the situation. The sun was still up, but since it was cloudy, the goblins were standing outside.
Readying her bow, she aimed at the goblin who wasn't sleepy and released the arrow that flew right into the goblins neck. She quickly readied another arrow and aimed at the sleepy goblin and hit it right in the head.
She waited for other goblins to show up while nocking another arrow, but none appeared. After waiting for 2 minutes, she started to walk closer to the cave, keeping her bow ready in case a goblin appeared.
Coming up at the entrance, no goblins appeared. She threw her bow in Storage and casted the detection spell to see how many goblins there were.
'33? I was hoping for 50.' The dark elf thought in mild frustration. She looked at the goblin who had the arrow in it's neck. 'Little low.' She retrieved her arrows and threw them in storage.
She cast the spell that allowed her to see in the dark and pulled out her kukri blades while proceeding inside.
She took a deep breath, smelling the foul air inside. 'Haah! The disgusting stench of goblin piss and shit.' She thought nostalgically, remembering all the times she had invaded goblin dens and cleared them mercilessly. And now after 80 years, she would get to do it again.
The cave itself wasn't very big or long, but there was a spacious chamber at the end, according to the spell and all the other goblins had gathered there, possibly to eat whatever they had killed at the road.
She stopped at the entrance of the chamber and sheathed her blades.
"OH gobbies, there is some nice juicy dark elf ass right here ripe for the taking, but I warn you! I'm one nasty bitch!" Echidna called out, trying her damnest not to laugh.
The goblins turned to look at the entrance and almost immediately sprang up, drawing their daggers and swords as they charged at her.
"Fufu. Firelight!" She shouted and the red jewels on her gauntlets glowed before they fired laser like beams towards the goblins, cutting their bodies in half.
Two goblins rose up, having ducked in time to avoid the deadly beams and charged at their assailant.
"Lucky day." She said as she drew her kukri blade and threw it in the other goblins chest, effectively killing it.
The remaining goblin tried to jump on her, but she threw a high kick, knocking the creature on the ground. And before it could get up, she stepped on it's wrist, pinning it's arm on the ground and preventing it from using it's weapon.
"Today just ain't your day gobbie." She said mockingly, pressing her foot down harder, breaking the bones in the goblins wrist.
The goblin screeched in pain before the dark elf's hands wrapped around it's neck, choking it. The green monster tried to gasp for air, but for naught.
The look on Echidna's face looked like she was enjoying herself, taking pleasure in slowly killing one of the monsters that plagued and preyed on the weak.
It didn't take long before the goblin died of asphyxiation. Echidna released her hold and impaled her other blade through it's head for good measure.
She looked around the scene of her carnage, the smell of goblin blood and excrement smelling heavily. 'By the Gods I missed this! Shinji, when we see each other again, I'll make you cum so hard that even the Gods themselves hear your screams of pleasure.'
She looked at the jewels on her gauntlets and groaned in frustration. 'Ugh, now I have to recharge these again.' Firelight was a spell that consumed a lot of mana, since it was a combination of fire and light magic.
As she started collecting their ears and burning the bodies, she kept thinking what she would do to the young healer when they met again.

The elves were in the middle of training when they felt it. It was like a tingling in the back of their heads. Like an instinct, warning them of danger.
Then they heard the thunderous roar.
Then a loud pounding shockwave nearly knocked several of them off their feet.
"What was that?" one of the elves asked.
"I don't..." an elven archer wondered himself.
"RRRRRRAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH!" A loud bellowing scream resounded throughout the forest.
"Was that...?" a third elf asked with a shudder.
"DRAGON!" a fourth elf shouted as he came running out of the forest.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Meanwhile...
"Ayl, there is something here for Shinji!" Aranel called out.
Ayl came over and saw her father holding a shield.
"Oh, the shield that the queen promised to Shinji." Ayl stated as she took it.
"The queen rewarded Shinji for curing Daena with a shield?" Aranel asked in disbelief. He felt a little embarrassed that he hadn't asked Shinji what the queen had chosen to give him for his help.
"And 50 gold coins." Ayl added.
"Oh. I suppose Shinji wasn't sure what he would want as a reward, since he is not greedy like most humans usually are." Aranel stated bluntly, finding Shinji's character quite likable even more.
"Wow. That shield is so pretty." Lilia, who just came downstairs, stated as she noticed the shield.
"The queen gifted it to Shinji for curing Daena, as well as 50 gold coins." Ayl explained.
"Can I hold it?" Hana, who came out of the kitchen, asked childishly, since to her, the shield looked so pretty.
"Sure. I don't think Shinji minds it either." Ayl replied as she handed it to Hana.
"Wow. It's so light." Hana said, still feeling childish.
"It's made from adamantite. Stronger then steel and only third the weight. And it has a good mana conductivity." Ayl lectured, which made Hana look even more impressed and Lilia felt slightly jealous.
If Shinji had seen the shield, he would have thought that it looked like the elven shield from LOTR.
Just then a rider on a horse was riding through the village and shouting.
"Dragon! Dragon! Dragon!" The elf shouted and the villagers scrambled towards their houses for safety.
"Did he say... 'Dragon'?" Lilia asked.
The group looked at each other for a few seconds before Brighid rushed in.
"A dragon just landed at the training ground and is wreaking havoc!" Brighid shouted.
"Hana, take cover in the basement! Brighid, go get Shinji and Tia from the cottage! Lilia, with me!" Ayl barked orders as she retrieved her bow.
"Aelene is at the training ground." Aranel said, clearly worried about his wife.
"She will be fine father." Ayl said, trying to assure both her father and herself.
"Can we kill the dragon?" Lilia asked, fear gripping her. She'd never faced a dragon before.
"There is always a way." Ayl answered. "And with Shinji's power, we can kill it."
"I hope you're right." Lilia stated, hoping that he arrived soon.
Brighid was already heading towards the cottage where Shinji and Tia were, hoping she got there in time before the dragon did any major damage.

Authors Notes:
From Reisfriend. I apologize that it took this long to post the next chapter, but gunman has been really busy with real life, hence the delay.
And now I'm asking from you readers for your help with the next chapter. Is there anyone who is good with fight scenes and would be willing to help us with the dragon fight? Since gunman and I are not good with fight scenes, we would like to ask someone who is good with fight scenes to write the dragon battle so we can possibly get the next chapter done faster.

OMAKE 1
(Ithalan)
Gallus was dealing with a new customer who wanted a specially made crossbow.
Bron Boraxe, Gallus's nephew was working the furnace. And he was upset.
"Gallus! The furnace is going out!" Bron shouted.
"Stoke It!"
"With what?"
"Use the Fire Juice! Just a splash!"
Bron looked over and saw a large pitcher that said 'Fire Juice' on it. He grabbed the wooden pitcher and poured some of the juice onto the furnace. The amber colored liquid spilled into the fire and reignited it.
Bron smelt the liquid from the spout and smirked.
"This is alcohol!" he shouted.
"Yes. Don't spill the whole thing into the furnace." Gallus said.
"Why not? The fire's still a little dim."
"It'll be bad!"
"How bad?"
"VERY!"
Bron, however, didn't look convinced.
"How bad could it be?" he thought as he unscrewed the lid and dropped the entire contents of the pitcher onto the furnace.
BOOM!
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!"
"What The...!" Gallus gasped when Bron started to shriek. He peered back into the shop as a dozen small fires were spread out all over the furnace and it's 'blacksmith' was rushing around the shop trying to put all the fires out at once.
"You used the whole thing, didn't you?" Gallus asked, slightly amused and annoyed at the same time.
"You Didn't Tell Me It Would Explode The Furnace All Over The Shop!" Bron shouted as he tried to put out a fire on the worktable.
"I told you not to use the whole thing! Didn't I?" Gallus said as he rushed in and tried to help his nephew put out the fires.
"This is the last time I agree to help you!" Bron shouted.
"This is the last time I ask you to help!" Gallus shouted back. "But once we get these fires out... you're repairing the damage!"

OMAKE 2 (From the movie Reign of Fire)
Shinji and Ayl were performing a play for the villagers, even the queen was present. And everyone had been enthralled by the story so far.
Shinji swung his wooden sword at Ayl, who blocked it expertly.
"Join me and we can end this conflict forever. The black knight says." Ayl said her line.
"Never!" Shinji shouted his line and blocked Ayl's black wooden sword.
"I'll never join you, the white knight says. You killed my mother! Haargh!" He groaned as he spun around and tried to hit her legs, but Ayl blocked the strike.
Ayl tried to hit him with an upward strike, which he blocked, but Ayl's next strike seemed to cut off his hand, which made the audience gasp.
Shinji showed the audience that he just his his hand in his sleeve.
"The black knight stares from behing her dark mask and speaks words that burn into our hero's heart forever." Ayl said to the audience and started breathing heavily and menacingly, to build up suspense. The audience looked anxious to hear what she was going to say.
"I… am your mother." Ayl said.
The audience gasped loudly in surprise, even the queen looked utterly surprised, along with Hana, Tia and Lilia. Brighid and Ayl's parents also looked shocked at the line.
"Nooooo!" Shinji cried out in despair and surprise.
The light magic stone that illuminated the stage was turned off, signaling the end of the play. The audience started cheering and clapping their hands loudly.
Ayl and Shinji waved at the audience to receive their praise, Ayl secretly smirked behing her helmet.
"Did you come up with this story Shinji?" One of the elven children asked.
"Of course I did." He answered.
"What an outstanding play. When are we going to see the next part?" The queen asked.
"Next week maybe." He answered. The audience groaned, since now everyone was anxious to see the next part.

OMAKE 3 (Anyone got the reference?)
Daena had come over to the Valtharos residence to present her new song dedicated to Shinji.
"You came up with a new song already?" Shinji asked, surprised that the songstress worked this fast.
"Naturally. But before I present this song, I would like to hear your opinion about it first." Daena said, holding a paper which had the lyrics written.
"And what is this song called?" He asked, now eager to hear it.
"I decided to name it: "Toss a coin to your healer." Daena said proudly as she handed the paper to Shinji.
'OH GOD! Kill me now!' He thought, almost keeling over from laughter.

OMAKE 4
Aeson leapt at the dragon, using his fellow elves as a springboard to gain a height advantage
'Once I slay this dragon... Ayl Will Be Mine!' he mentally screamed as he came down on the great beast.
He was so distracted that he didn't see the beasts massive tail come up towards him.
WHACK!
Aeson went flying rather comically, through the air and into a tree.
The other elven soldiers just looked and just sweat-dropped.
"No wonder Ayl didn't want him." one of the elves said.
"I know, right?" a second elf said.
