Chapter 29: Caregiver

Once Leia had disappeared through the ship's entrance, Rey managed to gather a small amount of force power and gently reached out to Ben. She experienced his head throbbing and the sensitivity to light, so severe that it was making him nauseous. She retreated from his mind, as she was beginning to feel sick from secondhand experiencing it.

She dimmed the lights before sitting down on their bed, next to him. She grabbed his hand, concern written on her features. "Ben... If it's alright with you, I'd like to take us somewhere we'll be safe. Somewhere that few people know about."

Ben was in no condition to argue, and even if he was, he found no issue with trusting Rey to get them to safety. He stared into her eyes, nodding while whispering due to his pain. "That's probably for the best, given my condition. Rey... I trust you."

She placed the gentlest of kisses on his cheek, before hurrying off towards the pilot's chair. "I'll be back in a bit to check on you." She stated over her shoulder, while leaving the room.

While Rey was busy taking them to wherever she had in mind, Ben was left alone with his thoughts. Mother really was relieved to see me... Even while unconscious, I could feel her emotions when she saw me. I heard her voice speak to me and I know that the force moved through her to wake me. She really does still love me...

About halfway through their journey, Rey went to go check in on Ben, just like she said she would. Entering the room, she found him asleep and decided to let him rest. He needs his rest to heal, I assume. It's probably good to rest right after an injury, maybe it would even be beneficial? But what do I know about healing anyway? Other than that I can do it with help from the force.

Rey decided to pass the time by reading her Jedi texts. She was deep in thought about building her own lightsaber from scratch. She had repaired Luke's saber yes, but it wasn't the same as having your own that you had built yourself. She thought about the kyber shard left over from when she had repaired Luke's, and about where in the universe she could possibly find another kyber crystal.

An alarm jarred her from her thoughts, indicating that it was time to descend into Ach-To's atmosphere and land. She landed with ease and went to see if Ben was awake yet.

Ben was just beginning to stir awake. Rey gathered up the spare blankets and other supplies they had packed and took them to an old hut where they would be staying. After several trips of bringing in supplies, Rey quickly managed to make a fire inside the hut to warm it for them.

She then went to fetch Ben from the ship and helped him walk up the steep landscape to their hut. The small trip must have exhausted him, because he immediately fell back asleep as soon as he crawled into the bed. Rey decided to spend time putting some food on the fire to cook.

They had packed rations with them for emergencies, but Rey remembered that some food was still left on the ship, from when Ben bought food in town during their stay on Takodana.

She left to grab what she needed to make a hearty stew for the both of them. She would wake him when it was ready, to make sure that he had sustenance for healing and to take his medicine with.

[three days later]

Rey had just woken up on their fourth day on Ach-To. Ben had been mostly sleeping, only waking twice a day to; relieve himself, take his medicine and eat whatever meal Rey had prepared. She was starting to worry about weather he was getting better or not. The loneliness was starting to creep in and take its hold on her as well.

Over the past few days, she had spent her time and focus on gathering the resources they needed, while staying on the cold, rainy planet. She had managed to collect a good bit of firewood, keeping it stacked inside their hut in a corner. She also made sure to go out and fish everyday, in order to supplement the food reserves they had.

She sat up stretching, glancing over at Ben still asleep. Getting up, she placed some more wood on the glowing embers of last night's fire. She then put a pot of water on to boil, so she could brew some caf. Allowing it time to cool, she sipped her caffeinated drink while planning out her daily routine.

After finishing, she tidied up around the hut for a moment and pulled on her boots and poncho. Stepping outside, she noticed that it was raining quite hard and a cold wind rippled through the air, chilling her instantly. I better get a move on so that this weather doesn't get me sick. Who would look after Ben and I, if that happened? She pushed the thought aside.

She took off in the direction of her fishing spot, it being the same spot that Luke had often chose. I really miss him being around, even if we didn't know each other that well...

Roughly an hour went by and Rey was only able to catch one small fish. She noticed the storm was progressively worsening too. This storm must be the reason that I haven't been able to catch anything substantial. Sighing, she began her trek back to the hut so that she could dry off and get warm.

She immediately threw off her soaked poncho and hung it by the door to dry. She instantly felt much warmer being out of the elements and next to the cozy fire she kept going. She then placed her basket containing her catch of the day, on the small table that she used as her kitchen area.

It dawned on her suddenly that she was being observed. Whipping her head around, she made eye contact with none other than Ben. A huge grin spread across his face, his eyes dancing in delight at the sight of her.

"Ben! You're awake!" She couldn't stop from launching herself at him, hugging him tight in relief.

He chuckled but also groaned slightly, a hand going to his head. "It appears so. How long have I been out?" he searched her expression.

She glanced around the room nervously. "Umm... three days." She didn't know why this was upsetting to her, all that should matter now was that he was awake.

His eyes widened in shock. "Three days! I've never been out for so long before." He was quiet for a moment, "Thank you Rey, for taking care of me. I'm feeling much better and my head only hurts a little now, from time to time." He smiled, so grateful for her support and that they both made it out alive. He knew that he owed his quick recovery to the fact that, she had been taking such good care of him the past few days.

"I'm so glad you're feeling better, I was starting to get worried." She placed her hand on his cheek, stroking it with her thumb. "I've really missed you." She blushed at admitting this, as it made her feel vulnerable and touched on her deep-rooted insecurities. She usually hated admitting that she ever felt lonely, but she wanted him to know that she missed his company.

"Rey..." He leaned in and softly kissed her lips. She eagerly returned the sentiment but tenderly, so she wouldn't trigger any pain from his injury.

He grinned against her lips, chuckling again. "It's okay Rey, you don't have to be so careful. I'll let you know if we need to slow down."

Now it was her turn to chuckle. "Okay, if you say so..." She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, being careful to avoid the injured side, kissing him deeply.

His tongue flitted across her lip, before diving into her mouth seeking hers. She eagerly offered it to him, a dance of passion taking place. His hands roamed from her hips, one up to the back of her neck, while the other grabbed her supple behind.

"Mmmm." Rey responded to his affections. She longed for things to continue down this path, ending with them getting off, but she didn't think it was the best idea. Especially after him just waking up.

Almost as if he had read her mind, he pulled away gently resting his forehead against hers, eyes closed. He then got up and stretched his stiff muscles, joints popping all over his body from being so sedentary.

Rey made a face at the sounds, being slightly grossed out by how loud they popped. He turned to see her face and couldn't stifle his boisterous laughter.

"I'll be right back, I'm going to the wash hut to freshen up. I'm sure that will help me feel better." He headed for the door before Rey stopped him.

"Okay, but I must warn you that the weather is horrible today. It's pouring rain and the wind keeps picking up. I'm sure it will start thundering and lightening soon. I could barely catch any fish earlier!"

He grinned at her, "Yeah, I'm guessing that I saw you come in from doing that. You still haven't managed to change into dry clothes either." He chuckled again as she looked down at her clothes, realizing this as he said it.

He took a step towards her, "Why don't you come with me? We can leave our clothes here to stay warm and dry for when we return. We can take a blanket with us to wrap ourselves in once we're clean, so that we don't have to put our dirty, wet clothes back on either."

She took a moment to consider his offer, deciding that bathing together might be slightly less cold if they used each other's body heat. Plus it's a great opportunity to stare at his incredible physique.

Grinning mischievously she nodded, "Sure, I don't see the harm in that." She gathered up a warm blanket in her arms, careful to not let it get wet from her clothes.

Ben was busy pulling on his boots and then grabbed the poncho from off of the hook. Rey knew that there was only one poncho and that somehow they would have to figure out how to share it.

Almost as if answering her thought, Ben motioned for her to stand next to him. As soon as she did so, he pulled it up over his head being mindful about the remaining water droplets on it. It managed to cover her properly, but she was unable to see at all.

"I know that you can't see, but just hold onto me and I'll guide you. At least you will be out of the wind and rain."

Rey grabbed onto his arm snuggling it close to her. She could smell his musky scent and found that she didn't dislike it. "Okay, I trust you Ben."

He opened the door and guided her out, shutting it behind them. The silence between them was comfortable on the short walk to the wash hut. The only sounds were of the whipping wind, poring rain and their squelching footsteps as they walked.

Once inside, Ben removed the poncho and placed it on the hook by the door. Rey sat down their dry blanket in the corner nearby. She then went to the middle of the room and started turning the crank on the well. Lowering the bucket down into it to collect the water they needed. Ben joined her efforts to help it go quicker and easier.

They soon had brought up the bucket of water, setting it down next to the bench, it being the only furniture in the small hut. The only thing left to do was undress.

Rey quickly kicked off her boots, Ben doing the same. Without registering what she was doing, Rey made eye contact with Ben while removing her shirt tantalizingly slow. He slowed his motion of pulling off his, to gawk at her in interest.

She then shimmied sexily out of her pants, standing there in only her undergarments, not feeling the cold air. She eyed Ben curiously, waiting for his next move. He finished pulling his shirt off over his head, running his hand through his hair to push the strands out of his face. Rey found this incredibly sexy.

She sauntered over to him, grabbing the top of his pants boldly and whispered in his ear. "I want you to wash me...and when we get back to our hut, I want you to fuck me...If you're up for it that is."

He felt himself rise to the occasion with her sudden boldness and choice of words. He had indeed been asleep for far too long. It was obvious that Rey needed him and he felt as if he lived to oblige her.

"Mmm, anything for you sweetheart." His eyed burned with desire as he gazed into hers, mimicking them. He scooped her up suddenly, making her squeal in excited surprise. He kissed her hard and passionately for a moment, before placing her down on the bench.

He dropped his pants and underwear in one fluid motion, Rey's eyes going wide at the sight of him erect. She could feel herself becoming even more wet, than she already was. Damn...I'm really fiending for his touch.

He smirked at her expression, how he loved seeing her filled with carnal lust for him. He crouched down to slide off her underwear, tossing them aside. She quickly flung off her bralette and was pleasantly surprised when he placed a few kisses, then licks, on her clit making her moan.

He stopped to grin slyly up at her, "That was just a hint of what you're in for later." He got up, grabbing a clean washcloth from the basket near the door, and dunked it into the bucket of cold water to start bathing.

Rey huffed in impatience, making Ben chuckle. He joined her on the bench and started to clean her with the cloth, starting with her back.

"You're a tease, Ben Solo." She stated in her matter-of-fact tone, faking her displeasure.

He chortled, "...And you're an enchantress, Rey soon-to-be, Solo." He was grinning from ear to ear, even though she couldn't see it, she heard it in his voice.

Rey turned around, gaping at the man she loved, endearment in her eyes. "I can't wait much longer Ben..."
