Honestly he knew it would happen eventually. He was reckless, and he overestimated his ability to properly walk on ice, let alone run on it.

So that's how he ended up in this particular situation, sliding down icy terrain with no way of stopping. He knew there was no way this would end well for him.

Finn, try as he might, could not stop. His momentum continued to increase as he slid further down the hill. He was beginning to feel fear creep into his body, making him scramble more. He was gaining speed, and he could see trees quickly approaching him.

He tried fixing himself, seeing if standing upright could help him gain more control of his downward decent. However he quickly figured out that only made it worse, and he was left to face the trees at a faster pace than he appreciated.

He pinned his ears and grit his teeth when he passed the first tree and entered into the wooded area. He hoped he could make it clear of them, hoped he would slow down soon or hit a pile of snow to slow himself down.

His hopes faded as fast as he was sliding when his shoulder knocked the first tree and sent him rapidly spinning to his left. He collided with the second tree and that's what hurt.

His side hit the tree full on and sent him sprawling backwards. He heard the audible snap of two of his ribs breaking and yelped in pain. As he landed again, he groaned.

At least he'd stopped sliding.

But that left him with another problem. He couldn't get up, he wouldn't be able to walk. If he couldn't walk, he wouldn't be able to get back to Holley. His communication lines were down.

He hoped she'd seen where he was going, because there was no way he'd be able to get back up there. Broken ribs or not. It was far too icy, and he didn't feel like breaking anything else to get back up there.

Even if she hadn't seen him, he knew she'd come looking for him if he didn't return soon.
